Emily requested a session with the Almond blossoms, a Chico treasure in the spring time. I know the orchards around Chico fairly well as I grew up out in country exploring them. There was an almond orchard I had in mind that was just down from my parent’s near the river. It is the same orchard that I did my niece and nephew’s pictures last year. I was really hoping that it would be in bloom. It was and it was beautiful! The bees were just buzzing away in all the blossoms during our session. Wouldn’t it be beautiful to actually get married among the almond blossoms?

We also made a stop at the old bridge on my parent’s street. The sun at sunset on this bridge just makes this one of the most beautiful spots as the light filters through the trees. I love this old bridge and have many fond memories playing under it as a kid as well as a few stolen kisses with my hubby on that bridge. Sweet memories there!

Emily and Andrew were troopers as we finished off our session being nearly carried off by the mosquito’s. Next time I will remember to bring some bug spray along!

A couple of weeks ago I did an engagement session for Sian and Pat. They have a beautiful wedding planned this summer that I am excited to be apart of! They choose the city of Old Shasta for their engagement session and I am excited to share those portraits with you soon.

Sian and Pat wanted something special for their Save The Date cards so I incorporated Sian’s colors with the vintage look she loves. I love the way they turned out! (Of course when they are printed up they won’t have my giant logo on them:-) When you order Save The Date cards through me you have two options; I can either create a file that you can purchase and have printed elsewhere or I can create the file and have the cards printed for you. It is a great way to use your engagement pictures.

We have been busy looking for a home to buy here in Redding. We have made 7 offers on different houses and for one reason or another each house hasn’t worked out. It was getting a little frustrating until our realtor called last week to say our favorite house had fallen out of escrow!! We are so excited for a second chance at this home and took our kids over to see it today. We hadn’t been inside it since last November so it was good to see it again and refresh our memories. It’s still just as perfect as it was the first time! We are hoping everything will go smoothly with this home and we should be in our new place in a few months. After 11 moves in 13 years of marriage, I am ready to make our 12th move into our permanent home. We plan on sticking around here for awhile!

Here is a family session I did the day after Christmas. The “C” Family contacted me because their son was home for the holiday break so they wanted to have family portraits done while he was home. They were a great family to work with and it was so nice to have young adults for once who wouldn’t run away from me or make me do a silly face when I needed a smile. I love the children I photograph but they sure do make me work sometimes! I really enjoyed talking to this family. They have always lived in the little town of Tehama. I haven’t been there but one of these times on my way to Chico I am going to drive through to check out it out!
