Glamour With A Twist

Jenna has a very inspiring business background from starting her career in New York City where she worked with fortune 500 companies such as Nike, NFL, and Microsoft to moving back to Canada and beginning her own company helping small businesses create marketing plans. She also now teaches marketing, analytics, and business at St Lawrence College and inspires students every day. I met Jenna when she helped me create a marketing plan for Kaufmann Photography and that is why I was so excited when she signed up for a Fierce Female session. She wanted a fierce female glamour shoot with a corporate twist, which made for such a fun vision board! The day of the shoot she came in ready to get pampered and to try new things. We played around with different elements such as building furniture out of apple boxes, experimenting with glitter tosses, and different clothing fabrics like reflective leather. Jenna had so many fun ideas that we got to try out throughout the day.

Jenna is one of those people who is genuinely passionate about her career in business and teaching, she takes time to understand her clients and students and encourages both her students and small businesses to reach their top marketing potential. She is kind, hardworking, and one smart lady! I hope Jenna can forever look back on these photos and have a reminder of how Fierce of a woman she truly is.

Dance Glamour

From the moment I met Leisa I knew she was a dancer, she carries herself with such elegance and confidence. Leisa explained to me dancing is what gave her self-confidence as she was a very shy introverted child. I wanted Leisa to feel her most confident in the studio so we incorporated dance into looks throughout the day. Leisa is no longer that shy introverted child she was. She has grown and faced adversity head-on for the past 2 years and I was so pleased to capture that in these photos. She is a Fierce Female who teaches the young girls in her dance class how to become Fierce Females. I hope the kids in her class see these images and know they are looking at one FIerce dance teacher!

Couture Glamour

Daria described herself to me as “Soft but determined” so I wanted these photos to reflect that about her. I wanted her to feel powerful, purposeful and poised whenever she looked back on these images. As Daria is one of those women who just fill the room with joy the minute they walk in! She generated so much energy in the studio which allowed us to try some really fun couture looks. She was ready to channel her inner Vouge and try anything from building a purple gown to wearing a feather collar. As the day progressed and the wine was poured we had creativity overflowing in the studio with ideas for outfits, makeup and poses. We experimented with everything and I could not be happier with how her session turned out!

Inner Confidence

Sometimes all we need is a little confidence boost, and that’s exactly what Meagen got on the day of her fierce female session. She brought her supportive best friend with her and it made her so comfortable and confident in front of the camera. It was such an incredible feeling to see two women empowering each other. It is amazing how a little pampering, country music, and the support from a great friend can allow her to have the confidence she deserves. Meagen is truly a Fierce Female!

Self Reminder

I have always known that building connections with other women was important and that was a big driving factor in starting this Fierce Female Campaign. Getting to know another professional woman is so empowering! Before the day of the shoot Tracy and I sat down over zoom to plan out what she had in mind for photos and while doing this I got to learn new things about Tracy I never knew before which helped me get inspired for this shoot. She discussed with me how she saw this “whole experience as a positive little pick-me-up”. I think we could all use an experience like this to reflect on the past chapters in our lives and the new ones coming. I was so happy to be able to help Tracy remind herself that she can “get through the rough patches”.

Meet Mezaun

Tammy has spent many years advocating for women’s health but her day in the studio was a time for her to reflect on her own self-progress and health. Women are ever-changing and growing and I wanted these photos to be a memory that Tammy could use to look back on this part of her life. We spent time planning outfits and photos that Tammy would be proud of that reflected her true self. Tammy is one empowering woman and I am so glad to have had her as part of the Fierce Female campaign!

Meet Jillian

A sister, a mother and now more than ever, a Fierce Female. Jillian is overall an amazing women ready to jam out to 90s music and experiment with different styles in the studio! We had so much fun playing around with outfit changes, different hairstyles and makeup throughout the day. Each look was different and perfect in its own way. It was great to see Jillian become more confident and comfortable in front of the camera as the day progressed. Thank you to Jillian for coming out and being part of the Fierce Females campaign and teaching woman everywhere how to love their bodies!

Family Glamour

Crystal and her beautiful girls came into the studio ready to get pampered and enjoy a girl’s day in front of the camera. It is amazing to watch a Mom in the studio, showing her daughters that they are strong, independent and fierce, and to see the daughters looking up to her. It was wonderful to embrace the very different styles and personalities of the two girls, and we were able to pull together a cohesive look while still letting each fierce female express their creativity. We even extended the afternoon by having the boys join us later on. Did we ever get some fun Fam Glam going on! Dad and big brother showed up ready for whatever came their way, we even pinned Theo into a ‘new’ outfit to make their new family portraits something out of a magazine! And, I have to say… this family was one of the MOST fun sessions I have had. You know when you just feel like you’ve known people forever, but you’ve only just met them? This feels like one of those times. We were just on the same page… and this level of comfort and understanding really shows in their new portraits. Thanks beautiful family for a fabulous day in the studio creating some beautiful wall art, but more importantly, some lasting family memories!

Meet Helena
