I have to admit it’s a little cheesy, but hey it’s Valentine’s day, right? These bag toppers are perfect for those adorable slap bracelets that have made an appearance for Valentine’s this year. They can be personalized with your child’s name and make a great alternative to candy.

I’m so excited to say that for the first time Kayden Ashley Printable Designs is in print! Our Sweet Stripes Holiday Wine Label is a part of the 2012 Gift Guide in Baltimore Magazine’s December issue. This is definitely a big milestone and I hope that this is just the beginning. Cheers to a wonderful 2012 and an even better 2013!

Hoping to make it to Alt Summit

After seeing so many posts about last years Alt Summit in Salt Lake City I swore to myself and a fellow photographer friend that we would make it next year! Alt Summit is a blogging conference for all things creative. So, with her being a photographer and me a designer, it would be the perfect destination to go and be inspired… together. The tickets sold out in just a couple of hours and sadly neither of us were one of the lucky ticket holders. Fingers crossed that we will somehow get tickets before January!

The new Alt blog is full of so many great tips, tricks and inspiration. I am not a “blogger”, but it really is an essential part of the business. So I really found their “8 Tips for Great Blogging” post incredibly useful. For blogging inspiration and business advice check out the new Alt blog.

Creating custom designs is always so much fun, especially when the customers are as great to work with as Bryce & Hudson’s mommy, Melissa. Last year I created the mustache bash for Melissa seen here . Her boys turned 3 and 4 this year and she came up with this oh-so-cute theme of Bryce is T(hr)EE & Hudson is FORE. A Tea Bridal Shower for Mrs. Vintage

Tea anyone? I recently had the pleasure of creating a few items for my dear friend’s tea bridal shower. The beautiful bride, Julia, is also the lady behind Mrs. Vintage. Mrs. Vintage is a rental boutique located in New Orleans that you must check out. Her bridesmaids did such a wonderful job with everything and the shower was as classy as it gets. Aidan & Kai’s Pirate Party

Last month my two boys, Aidan and Kai, celebrated their 4th and 2nd birthdays. Their birthdays are just 3 days apart, so having a joint party is a no-brainer. The 4 year old absolutely loves anything pirate so he naturally chose to have a pirate party. It was a fun filled day full of family, friends, food, jumpy house and a gazillion presents! A big thank you to Jihan of Jihan Cerda Photography for the fabulous images you see below, Encore Event Rentals and Kristin of Sweet Spot. Enjoy!

The Invitation that I designed really set the mood and theme for this party. I wanted the classic pirate colors of red and black, but I also wanted to add some aqua blues to make the palette a little more kid friendly. The foam swords that the kids got to take home were a great find in the Target dollar section.

I created custom popcorn cones to match the design, which the kids loved. The cone holder was simply made out of shipping boxes that I cut slits into and covered with kraft paper then wrapped with ribbon.

Printable Water Bottle Labels which are water resistant and food tags.

A BIG thank you goes to Kristin of Sweet Spot for creating these adorable fondant cupcake toppers. Kristin and I have worked together for quite awhile now and each time I receive a package from her I am blown away at the amazing work she does.

Kristin also created these delicious sugar cookies to match my design. Thanks Kristin, they turned out great as always!

This year I tried something that made the party go a lot smoother. I pre-scooped the ice cream into ice cream cups from The Tomkat Studio the night before. When it was time for cupcakes I pulled the trays out, popped my hand stamped wooden spoons in and they were ready to go. Definitely a must for any party with ice cream!

These pirate PB&J sandwiches come from an idea that I found on Sweeten Your Day Events. I think that they turned out really cute and were so easy to make. They are Uncrustables, the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches found in the freezer section. They were thawed out and stamped with a toast stamper that I painted edible ink onto. How easy is that?!

Each one of the little guests also received eye patches and little bags of pirate booty (aka chocolate coins) that were personalized and stamped with their names.

I was happily surprised to find out that the beautiful Sonoma wedding that I created escort cards for was featured on Style Me Pretty today. It was such a pleasure working with Jennie at MAP Weddings & Events to create the escort card flags. The bride couldn’t have been more beautiful and the wedding itself would be any girls dream!
