Summer Smooches Sneak Peek

Stampin' Up! has offered our customers the opportunity to purchase sneak peek items for the first time. These are called Summer Smooches, and the paper, brads, stamp set, etc. are adorable. I had a Sneak Peek class today and these are what we made:

The above card was cased from talented designer Elizabeth Hurst. I love this card. So simple, yet adorable!

Hands down, the ladies told me their favorite item today was making the little purse. Of course, I gave each of them a little bag of chocolate to put into the purse. I think only about half the chocolate actually made it into the purse!!

I can't wait to make more items with these papers and stamp set. I LOVE them.

Punch Bunnies

I needed a quick gift the other day (remembered at around midnight the night before the event) and so whipped out these little bunny gifts. Whew. Saved the day because the ladies loved them!

Stamp Set of the Month - Herb Expressions

One of my goals this past year was to start focusing on one stamp set every month to not only show its versatility, but also to challenge myself. Herb Expressions is a stamp set that I purchased early on in my Stampin' Up! career because I thought I could use it in so many ways, and then there is sat. One of my customers specifically asked that I focus on this stamp set in an upcoming stamp-set-of-the-month class that I offer.

I'd love your feedback. More than that, I'd love to hear if there is a stamp set that you would like to see focused on in the upcoming months.

Selling - Retired Stamp Sets

Its time to clear out the old to make way for the new. Ergo, I'm parting with my treasures of retired Stampin' Up! stamp sets. Policy states that we are not allowed to sell sets that are retired under a year old, so check back often because as a catalog or mini's year is up, many of those stamp sets will also go on sale.

Prices don't include shipping prices. I try to ship the cheapest way possible for buyer-if you have multiple items, then would ship in a flat rate envelope/box if possible.

A Dozen Thank You's - Card Buffet Class

Another fun card buffet class. I wanted to share with you to adorable thank you cards we made.

This was one of my favorite cards and was cased directly from the Stampin' Up! catalog. Ingredients and measurements can be found here. This is a hostess set and only available through the end of May. Don't hesitate to contact me if you would like to purchase this set in either wood mount or clear.

I'm always being asked to include masculine cards so I went totally masculine with this card. This was designed by Susan Miller, and ingredients and measurements can be found here.

An oldie but a goodie, Circle Circus is a stamp set I would hate to see leave as it is a great set to whip out a clean, but unique card such as this card which was designed by Deb Pedersen. Ingredients and measurements can be found here.

This is a card that I cased directly from the catalog, and I almost didn't include it into the buffet. It was one of the first cards to disappear off of the buffet. My clients loved it. Details can be found here.

This was another class favorite. I love this set but had not used it until this class. I received this card as part of the All Catalog Swap I hosted last year, and it was designed by Elin Kovash. Details can be found here.

And finally,

This was another really popular card. This actual card was designed by Deb Pedersen. It was the first time I used that stamp set, and as a result of this card, three of my customers ordered this set!! Details can be found here.

Techniques

Tomorrow night will be the first of a monthly class I am beginning to teach -- Techniques! I used to teach one technique with every class that I taught, but my customers and downline have asked that I repeat so many of the techniques that I thought it might be a good idea to start a monthly class dedicated to learning techniques. Of course, we will also make a card using the new technique that we've learned. After all, that's half the fun!

These are the techniques that I will be teaching tomorrow evening:

Polished Stone

Definitely one of my favorite techniques. So much fun and the variety is endless. I like this card because with very little effort, it is a great masculine card.

Black Magic

This technique was by far the most requested. I decided to just do a 3 x 3 card so that they could make it with whatever sentiment they needed.

Crayon Resist

The sample card was pretty darn easy, but the main card had me stumped until I ran across a beautiful card designed by a lady named Manetta. I really like the way it turned out.

Spotlighting

Then last, but not least, is the old tried and true Spotlighting technique. The "Packed for" stamp sets in Stampin' Up!'s new mini are perfect for this technique. I want to thank Diana Echfield for the inspiration of that idea and for this card. I taught spotlighting a long time ago so that's why there are two demo cards -- each showing a different way to "spotlight" something on the card.

Mixed Occasions - Card Buffet Class

These card buffet classes seem to be very popular. At least they are with my customers. We have so much fun, and I really enjoy hearing which cards inspire which person. Thank goodness for the tremendous amount of talent out there from all those wonderful Stampin' Up! ladies who are willing to share their talents. Here are the cards we made tonight.

This card was designed by the talented ~~Connie Babbert~~. Whoops! This was actually designed by Mary Brown, another card of which I also cased for this class. Boy I love her work. For ingredients and measurements, click here.

This card is based off of a card that I made at a shoebox swap at Leadership in San Antonio. This beautiful card was designed by Lynn Starzl! For ingredients and measurements, click here.

The first card above was cased from Mary Brown. I love her cards. Always such clean designs. But what I love is when a customer takes an idea and runs with it. The second card is what one of my customers designed -- started with Mary's design and then switched to the Build a Blossom kit. Love it!

Chocolate Egg Pedestal - Total Case!

You know sometimes you see something and you think, "OMG that is adorable! I have to make one." Okay, this is one of those times. I don't know why I felt the need to make a chocolate egg pedestal, but when I saw Kim Score's design (definitely one of my favorite designers), I had to case it. It is just so stinkin' cute!

Okay, I'll admit my photo does not do it justice. I really need to learn to take better photos, but you should see Kim's. Here is the link to her site to get the directions.

I need to work on the pedestal part more -- somehow I just didn't pick up on how to get it straight, but I still love it!

Calendar Swap

This is the first time I will have participated in a calendar swap and I'm pretty excited. I think its a great idea. I ended up taking two months, March and May. I haven't seen the stands for them yet...we'll get them when we do the actual swap from the hostess. More Sneak Peeks - New Projects

Not much to say other than I'm having a blast with the new products!!! A mini Mannequin brooch holder, an eye pillow filled with flax seed and lavender, a 6 x 6 calendar page for a calendar swap I am involved with and a card using the adorable maze from the new mini.

I'd love to hear your feedback. I'm thinking about making the Mannequin and eyepillow kits available for purchase, as well as completed one's. Let me know what you think or if you would have any interest in either a kit or one already made.

Sneak Peek - New Mini and New Classes

Isn't she adorable? This is some of Stampin' Up!'s new fabric from the New Occasion Mini which will launch on January 4th. While I'm not allowed to show you the catalog, I can show you sneak peeks of projects.

This is an easy sewing project -- even for beginners and it will be part of my new monthly series focusing on Stampin' Up! fabrics. Some projects will use machine sewing, some hand sewing and some no sewing at all. Class sizes will be limited to 4 people, but if even indicate they want to sign up then I can schedule a second class. Depending on the project, each class cost will vary a little. Holiday Catch-Up

Boy am I behind on posting. I have so many classes, and with work and an unscheduled charity event, I haven't had a second to post anything. I did want to post my most recent Stamp Set of the Month Workshop. This month we used Lovely As a Tree. I really enjoyed this project, as did my clients.

Its a stand-alone card box with a small pocket for stamps. We also made a matching pen to include in the box. Isn't it adorable. One of my downline already made a similar card box full of baby boy thank you notes. This pattern for the card box is from Becky Roberts at Inking Idaho. Thanks Becky.

Then here are the four cards we made to go inside the card box.

True, we made all Christmas cards, but look at how different each card looks, and that was with using only one stamp set. Of course, each of my clients purchased the stamp set as part of this class (unless they had it already) so they were eager to go home and duplicate the cards.

Stamp Set of the Month Class - Just Believe

Its that time of month again where I focus my class on one stamp set only. With the price of the class you get the stamp set in your choice of wood or clear. Here are the projects we made this week:

After we discovered how easy it was to stamp on candles I surprised my ladies with making a Just Believe candle. It was so much fun to see them so excited! And its sooooo easy. For credits, ingredients, measurements and directions, click here.

I kept going back and forth on this card, but boy did they like it. I really liked what one of my customers did. Instead of stamping the En Francais onto the DSP paper (you can hardly see it in the photo), she stamped it in white on the black card underneath. Then she tore two corners of the DSP so you could see the written words underneath. Really beautiful.

This is a card I have been wanting to make for quite awhile. It is so easy. I could not for the life of me find any instructions on how to do the diamond, so I came up with my own way of doing it. Check back for ingredients, measurements and directions. When you see this link go live.

This is one of my favorite cards. Once again, you'll have to check back for the link as I haven't loaded the credits and the rest of the deets yet. Instead of the medium sized window pane in the picture (cause I ran out), we used the small one. I think I like it better!!

Anything But a Card Class

I've been a busy, busy girl and am quite behind on loading projects from my classes. This was a really fun class and it was called Anything But a Card Class. Basically the idea is to use Stampin' Up! products but to make inexpensive, but lovely gifts, personal items, etc. What fun we had. Here is a group shot:

The only item missing from this photo is the necklace we made from a domino. I forgot to take a picture, but I have a photo of one I did last year so I'll show it.

Okay, first we made the ornament placecard holders and large ornament photo holder. You can get more details about those from my last blog entry.

Then we decorated these adorable little plates that I picked up for $2.99 (on sale) at Hobby Lobby.

Next, the coasters. I read tons online about the different ways to do them. I found the easiest for me was to just stamp them with Stazon, color them in with Stampin' Up! markers, and then seal them with a clear sealant spray. My clients all made matching coasters. Mine are different just for inspiration. I do love to have them down ready for my clients' drinks when they come to my house for a class.

Next we played with making jewelery You can either use the Stampin' Up! chains, or what I prefer to use is coordinating ribbon. I always get compliments when I wear mine.

Next we experimented with etched glass. Who knew that it was so darn easy!! You can get directions to make most all of these items from www.splitcoaststampers.com. The picture really does not do this justice.

Finally, my favorite project...stamping on candles. Isn't it adorable? This project was definitely cased but the name escapes me at the moment. I will put up that name, I promise. I'm so late in posting anything that I wanted to get something online for you all to see.

Metal Snowflakes

I've been perusing Monica Weaver's metal projects for quite some time now. I've even purchased some of her metal but then by the time I got it I had already moved on to other projects. (I'm not in any way suggesting that it took too long to receive my packages. I just flip from one project to another quickly). Anywho, when I saw these ornament projects, I knew they would be perfect for my upcoming Anything But A Card Class.

Monica really showcases some beautiful projects (and cards too!!) that you can make with metal. These ornaments were sooo easy that now I'm over my fear of working with the metal. I can't wait to see what my clients' say when they see and make them.

2nd Christmas Card Stamp Camp

My second Christmas Card Stamp Camp. While we had a good time (don't we always), once again I believe I made the cards a bit too detailed, making it hard for my ladies to finish them in one evening (20 cards). Here they are though. The first two card are good to make together because you only need to punch the oval frame with the Big Shot once (two sheets of card stock) to get two cards. One of each color.
