Daddy and Me

2011-03-28T09:16:00.000-07:00

Landon loves to watch basketball with daddy. They snuggle well on the chair.

Landon sure loves his daddy and I do too.

Landon even likes daddy's stinky stocking cap.

I can CLIMB

Landon climbed in the bathtub today...

I heard him throwing toys into the tub (which he does often) and pretty soon I didn't hear any more toys thudding against the tub. Lo and behold it was because he didn't need to throw them anymore, he was in the tub with his toys!

Landon is a big boy now. He had his first haircut at 14 1/2 months on January 13th. Grandma and Papa did a great job, but boy does he look grown up!

Blake --> Senior '11

2010-10-24T19:30:00.000-07:00

What a fun day it was to share with Blake, Shannon, Jeff and Brooke. It was a family affair to take Blake's pictures since he's not a natural 'smile for the camera' guy. Shannon and Brooke kept him cracking up, and at times I was laughing so much I was forgetting to keep taking the pictures. Jeff was the run-around man... getting Blake's three trucks, 1 tractor, and 4-wheeler where we wanted them. For a guy who's not great at smiling for a camera - it was hard to narrow the pictures down, we had so many great ones. So Blake's family has been working hard to narrow them down to 50, then 35 and again tonight they are narrowing them down further.....(I'm glad I gave THEM that job.) I'm pretty sure Blake even enjoyed getting his pictures done.... I was impressed.

So even though there are a whole bunch of great pictures of Blake - I'm just adding these because I love, love, love that truck! The truck belongs Blake's grandpa, but Blake fixed it and just got it running.... maybe grandma and grandpa will let him keep it after all that work he put into it :)

Best Wishes to Blake!
(And also his family for having to narrow pictures down again)

Flat Stanley for a visit

2010-10-16T10:09:00.000-07:00

Flat Stanley visited our home and had so much fun playing with Landon, getting into his toy basket and trying to drive his car!

Eventually Landon and Stanley tuckered out for some ZZZs.

It's harvest time! The combines are out in the fields and the sun is shining a beautiful light. Just perfect for pictures of my neighbors, who I just adore. The kids were so good. After a few minutes with me, they got to pick their poses. Can you tell which ones they did?

And now for a advertisement.....Anyone interested in some fall pictures, contact me soon - - the colors are perfect!

The kids became BRAVE one weekend at the lake.....

They really enjoyed Kevan's jetski.... Trying to soak each other with the water tail was a big thing.

See all the fish jumping around Trista?

Maatman Wedding

2010-09-19T18:14:00.000-07:00

I'm not sure if I have ever had this much fun taking pictures at a wedding.... Tiffany and Kirk enjoyed a beautiful day, loving family and friends, a wonderful ceremony, and a rockin' reception. Yes, I said "rockin".

This is when they first saw each other...

Tiffany LOVES her church.....

PowderPuff was this Monday night at school and it was great! Landon enjoyed his night hanging out with Daddy and Grandma while I stood by the fence playing with my camera and getting some good shots. I posted the Junior/Senior game pictures on my website and will be putting the Freshman/Sophomore shots up soon. Check them out! studiokayphoto.zenfolio.com

Go Cubbies

2010-08-07T09:09:00.000-07:00

Landon is nine months old already! He is sure growing. Our house is filled with laughter, giggles, random sounds, cries and smiles. Landon thinks he's big now because he pulls up on everything and loves to 'walk' while holding our fingers. He even eats big boy foods like bread, mashed potatoes, doughnuts, icecream, yogurt and a little fruit. Daddy wanted Landon's nine month pictures to reflect his favorite baseball team so GO CUBBIES!

Stinkin Cute

2010-07-13T06:07:00.000-07:00

I must be a typical mom. You know the one who thinks her kid is just 'so cute'. But, can you blame me?

Honestly.....

Yes, Landon was sporting a mohawk. I couldn't resist!

Eric and Mindy

2010-06-15T08:54:00.000-07:00

Eric and Mindy were united in marriage last Saturday. They chose a beautiful location for the ceremony and reception. Forecasts predicted rain but it was sunny and breezy instead. I went to high school with both Eric and Mindy so it was fun to see them again. Enjoy your sneak peak!

Fun Day!

Just got back from this photo shoot with one of my best friend's children.... it was so much fun. Here are just a few photos - I haven't even finished importing the pictures to my computer...

...and I get to hang out with these guys on Tuesday too! I'm super excited.

Trista, I made some hairbows. Take your pick! I'll send them to you in the mail.... you like mail right? Maybe you and Allie can have the matching polka-dot bows.

Stay at home mom (for the summer)

I'm loving my summer off. Landon and I get to play and take a bike ride everyday. It's so rewarding being home with him. I pick a few jobs to complete at home each day and spend the rest of my time with him. He is really growing lately too. He was 18 lbs 9 oz just this week at the doctor's.

He just started playing with his dunk 'n cheer basketball hoop.... you know, getting ready for basketball season with his daddy as the varsity coach! Yeah, we'll be gym rats :)

Big Eater

Landon's a pretty good eater. He's pretty cooperative too. This day was an exception so instead of getting all wound up about it - I decided to document it :) He was having so much fun getting messy.

So I had to come up with a genius invention.... our beautiful high chair doesn't have a strap besides the one to hold the tabletop down.... check it out:

Yes, I know... not the best picture of Landon but if you look close, you'll see the belt! I started with this cloth belt from a pair of capris and then I found a piece of twill tape with velcro on it so now i just velcro him to the chair. Simple things make me happy.

Choo Choo!!! Landon the train conductor!

Yesterday while Jeff was at the Cubs game, I took Landon to the park to do his 6 month pictures.

Look everyone - - he sits up by himself! SURPRISE! He did fall over a few times... he does that mostly when he gets too excited.

Oh yes, and I'm still working on a watermark.....

Ryan's Senior Shots

Graduation is approaching..... We squeezed in Ryan's senior shots on Monday afternoon. It was a very overcast day but a bit windy. Ryan was super laid back and pictures were a breeze. I tried a few different techniques on some of the proofs - yeah, I'm pretty excited about them. These were my favorite five. Congrats Ryan!

Easter Fun!

I took pictures of Landon and his cousins on Easter before the big Easter feast that my mom prepared. It was a great day to rejoice and fellowship as family.
