Celtic Woman!! GIVEAWAY!!!!

I love Celtic Woman! My husband actually introduced me to their music (and Celtic music altogether) several years ago! We watch their specials on PBS and really enjoy them! (My husband is a bagpiper)

If you're not familiar with them, Celtic Woman is an all-female singing group featuring vocalists Chloë Agnew, Lisa Kelly, Lisa Lambe and Celtic violinist Máiréad Nesbitt. They perform classic Irish songs (“Green Grow the Rushes"), timeless pop anthems (“Bridge Over Troubled Water"), and inspirational songs (“Ave Maria”) with their signature Celtic Woman twist.

They have a new album that just came out TODAY! Called "Believe" I am so excited to listen to it! Here is a link to one of the songs on the album called "Teir Abhaile Riu" I LOVE IT!! They are also starting a new tour and have a DVD available of their concert - watch the trailer HERE! This concert features a 20 piece orchestra, 7 piece Celtic Woman Band, 16 piece Atlanta Bag Pipe Band; lush vocal harmonies from a 10 piece Aontas Choir, 30 member children’s choir and featuring a world champion Irish dancer formerly a lead performer in Riverdance! Hopefully we will be able to go to the concert when it comes to Utah in April! Here are their tour dates.

My husband and I just bought our first home, and we are so excited about everything. It took us a really long time to save up for the down payment, and we can’t wait to start with the renovations we want to do. We are going to gut the kitchen and put in all new appliances first. The next thing we want to do is re-do all of the bathrooms because they are all pretty old. Good thing my husband is very handy. We’re going to save t on because we’re doing everything ourselves. I have been trying to figure out what Christmas cards to order. I love sending out the cards but it always seems like my Christmas budget is gone before I get to them.

Which one do you like the best?

Do you have a good way to display the Christmas cards that you get? What do you do with them after the holiday? I have a spot on my wall where I tape them up, and then the photo ones from my extended family I usually cut the photo off the card and then just stick them in a box. I need some new ideas!

I forgot to tell you!

Last week at my Weight Watchers meeting I reached the goal I had for the week! I was hoping that I would have been down 1.2 pounds bringing my total to -15 lbs -- Guess What? I actually lost 2.2 last week for a total of -16!! That was the week of Halloween!

Thursday is my meeting day - so I have a couple of days to see what I did this week. I have tracked 100% of my food this week and I hope I can keep up my momentum because I have another goal before Thanksgiving...

Anyway, today I made these mini pumpkin pies! They were yummy! Only 1 point each!

Weight Watchers Week 6

So today was my 6th weigh in at Weight Watchers. This week I lost 2.2 pounds. I was so happy. Last week I was only down .6 and I was a little disappointed. But after chatting with a friend I realized that .6 lbs is about what 2 sticks of butter weigh. Everyone can stand to lose 2 sticks of butter -- I didn't want that butter anyway :)

So far my total loss is 13.8 pounds. Earlier this week I was at the gym and I was using a 6lb medicine ball as part of my workout and it I was thinking how heavy that ball was. It hit me that I have lost more than 2 of those balls! It really helps put things in perspective when you pick something up and realize how much weight we are carrying around.

My goal for this coming week is to lose at least 1.2 so I can reach my first 15 lb loss! It will be hard because of Halloween - but I know that I can do it! While eating a piece of candy would make me happy for a minute - it's not worth not reaching my overall goal.

Halloween is the first official food holiday of the season and I feel that if I can get through this first hurdle I will have the confidence to get over the next too!

The beginning of my journey to better health & a better self image

This is not a sponsored post, it's not a giveaway, it is my life!

I have struggled with my weight for pretty much my entire adult life... and probably most of my teenage years... about 3 years ago my husband started a new job and fitness was really pushed there. I felt like he was going to be all hot and fit (He is anyway) and I didn't want to be the fat girl with the skinny man.

I started working out HARD! I lost about 15 pounds, it felt good although no where near as much as I needed to loose. I plateaued, I got discouraged, I kind of gave up. I decided that I just was going to have to be happy being overweight. I gained back that 15 lbs & more... I wasn't happy...

I have felt like I am going crazy! Sometimes depressed & full of anger! I finally decided that I needed to do something. After a breakdown I decided that I would take advantage of an offer my dad had made a while back. I joined Weight Watchers. That was 5 weeks ago. It's been hard. I have learned so much about myself. I think I may even be a little happier now. I will succeed at this! I need to for myself, my husband and my kids!

After 4 weigh ins, I am happy to say that I have lost 11 lbs! I have about 75 more pounds to go before I am at "goal".

I hope you all we be here with me as I plan on sharing my successes and my failures. Maybe I can help you a little bit too! It might be a wild ride!

Remember when I told you how much I like scrubs? Well, I came upon another place that has really nice scrubs. Hopefully all my healthcare worker friends will like what I found.

Who would have guessed that I would end up being a stay at home mom? I remember in high schoolwhen I was voted most likely to succeed…it was a no brainer because I was just so driven and smart! I worked for a few years at the law firm before my husband and I got pregnant and I really haven’t looked back since. I really enjoy getting to spend so much time with my kids during the day and I have some downtime for myself, too. Sometimes I nap when they do but other times I’ll catch a movie on the http://directstarTV.com satellite or even use the elliptical upstairs to get some exercise. I know it sounds like I’m wasting my talents but at the end of the day I feel like what I’m really supposed to do is be a mother to these three great kids and I want to make sure I’m putting myself in the best position to do that.
