Great opinion piece from Mac App Storm on how Apple’s Mac App Store is broken when it comes to upgrades. It obviously applies to the iOS store as well — Mac apps just tend to be on the pricier side, so it ends up more of an issue, and more painful for users.

Seems the monstrous building I got to briefly wander around in back in September of 2009 while at the Kennedy Space Center is getting a refurb — any of which for this sizeable building is going to be well, a sizeable undertaking.

Haven’t posted in awhile, and definitely haven’t posted much about the family lately.

Everything’s going great, but it’s pretty much always go go go. Both Amanda and I pretty much are always busy with work. Tyler’s growing like a weed.

So today, we both decided to unplug and take Tyler down to Wrightsville Beach for a few hours of beach fun. We all had a blast, and it was a great way to unwind. After leaving the house at 7am this morning, I didn’t touch my phone, email, etc. till we were back at home over 12 hours later. Felt good, and need to do it more often.

Today was also a further emphasis on how much both my son and wife like the beach. Gotta do another beach trip later this summer — and for more than a quick down and back trip.

2012 RTP Ride of Silence

It’s National Bike Month and once again the RTP foundation and Go Triangle are helping out with the annual Ride of Silence RTP. This ride is in memory of fallen cyclists and in celebration of those who have survived auto/cycle crashes.
WHEN: Wednesday, May 16th.
WHERE: RTP Headquarters 12 Davis Drive, RTP, NC.
TIME: 7:00 p.m. sharp.

This ride take place across the world at 7:00 p.m. We ride in complete silence, using only hand signals. Be sure to arrive early to air up your tires and for a moment of reflection. If the WRX was to move to an electric turbocharger of sorts, does that make it more of a supercharger than a turbocharger?

Man, running at lunch this week has gotten a lot tougher. It can’t be that I’m getting into worse shape, nor do I think it’s a case of overtraining. I think, it just that it’s gotten so damn hot. So much for Spring here in Central North Carolina.

Never have taken part in this, but the leader of the Raleigh Gyros posted this this morning, and thought I’d share the details:

Please join is in rural Lee, Chatham, and Moore Counties for a great ride. Roads built for cycling (no traffic), great rest stops, and a band at the end. You get to meet some of the denizens, have some CBC refreshments and lunch is provided by Cafe 121 (gourmet chef). The food is the best you will ever have on a ride!

New routes this year. Join us for a fantastic time!

When: Saturday May 12th (Every year, the first Saturday after Raven Rock)
Where: Deep River Park/Camelback Bridge just West of Sanford off Hwy 421
Times: Metric Century leaves at 8:30 AM
Half-Metric and 10 Mile ride leave at 9:00 AM

Heading to Greensboro to See Van Halen

Bout to get on the road to see Van Halen with David Lee Roth at the helm. This’ll be a first. I’ve seen Roth during the Sans Halen tour with Hagar, but this will be the first time seeing him with the Van Halen family. I dig the new album, A Different Kind of Truth, and hope they feature a bunch of those tracks mixed in with the classic tracks from the late 70′s to early 80′s.

Come to think of it, it’d even be cool if “Me Wise Magic” or “Can’t Get That Stuff No More” were thrown in there. Doubt it, but how cool would it be to hear those rare gems live?

I’m super-psyched. Hope it rocks. Expect a review of the concert soon.
