Hi Gene,

I think it’s an encouraging idea that Lynn is trying to promote reading, since as you know, Freshmen are going to be doing a lot of that when they get here anyways. I think Lynn is trying to prepare their students for what’s in store when they get here. I remember my work load from my senior year in high school and transitioning into a freshmen in college was not exactly easy and being prepared by reading a book is not going to hurt by any means- it can only help!

I am a high school teacher. Students should know going into the university what is required before them months in advance. Many students work etc in the summer and not being able to plan is a big mistake. The university should rethink this and implement this next school year so every freshmen will know ahead of time.
