Eleanor was collecting the daffodils to sell the following day to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society.
I couldn’t resist the opportunity to photograph such a colourful scene.

The Commitments were on stage at The Royal Theatre, Castlebar on Saturday night last for the first leg of their Irish tour.

The original band have reformed twenty years after the release of the movie based on the Roddy Doyle novel.

Although there are a couple of the original band members missing most of them were there including front man Andrew Strong, guitarist and oscar winner Glen Hansard, Saxophone player Felim Gormley and backing singers Angeline Ball and Bronagh Gallagher.

They are playing in several other venues around the country.

Make sure you try to catch up with this brilliant soul band somewhere over the next couple of days.

I was commissioned to photograph the homecoming of Mayo’s first ever Taoiseach in Castlebar on Saturday night. A truly historic occasion and one which will live in local memory for a long time. Congratulations to An Taoiseach Enda Kenny.
