I'll admit it - I'm a huge Pinterest fan. I love that it's so visual and organized, and I gain so much inspiration on there every single day. I always try to set aside at least 10 minutes of my day to look through my feed, and I love that you can pin something from anywhere on the internet. It's like bookmarks with pictures... so much prettier.

Continuing my apparent love for Icelandic musicians - here's a fun band called Of Monsters and Men. They remind me of a mixture of Angus & Julia Stone, and one of my all time favorite bands, Stars. And the female lead totally reminds me of Bjork in the photo above... another singer from Iceland. (I'm obsessed, I know)

My prediction: you will most likely listen to their ridiculously catchy song Little Talks at least five times today. You will, that's a fact. Ready go!

Currently loving:
- My new grey moccasins that are the comfiest things in all the land. I got them for such a deal, I just might get another pair.
- Reese Witherspoon in the newest issue of Elle. She makes me proud to have long, messy waves!
- Instagram for iPad. I downloaded it this week (since I am iPhoneless at the moment) and it's so fun keeping up with all your pretty faces and lovely lives on there. You can find me at: hellokellyann.

The United States of America is a nation of freedom, liberty, innovation, and creativity. The internet is a huge part of who we are. Business, communication, and success all rely on the internet in big ways. I, for one, wouldn't be where I am right now without the help of the internet. The internet helped me when I was a film major in college. My papers, presentations, and film projects were made possible because of internet research. I was able to start this blog years ago, as way to keep in touch with friends and share what I love with the world. I have found new music, books, and films because of the web. I have found clients and jobs. I've become educated on issues and watched political debates. I've made new friends. I've reconnected with old friends. I have watched wonderful people raise money for mission trips, non-profit organizations, and amazing causes - like fighting cancer and raising awareness for issues like human trafficking... and the internet came through for them. They were able to meet goals, and go above & beyond goals - because of this place.

The internet can be a time-suck, yes. It's a great way to procrastinate, absolutely. But it can also do great things. Amazing things. Things that have changed the world for the better.

I have a voice on the internet, and that's important to me. You have a voice, too. And that matters. It should matter.

Don't let the government censor you. Don't let them silence you. Stand up and speak out against internet censorship bills, like SOPA & PIPA. The great thing about this country is our freedom of speech - and right now, that's in danger.

Let your voice be heard. Read/watch here for more info, and contact Congress to tell them NO.

I saw My Week With Marilyn a couple weekends ago - it was lovely. Sad... but beautiful. I think Michelle Williams did a a truly stunning job, and her performance was certainly heartfelt. Playing one of the most iconic individuals in history had to be daunting, but she made it look effortless, in my opinion.

There's one thing I know for sure when comes to the beautiful people of Iceland... when they create music, they create magic. Olafur Arnalds is an Icelandic composer who creates such stunning music that it takes my breath away. Truly beautiful.

This was supposed to be posted last month, and then I realized last week that it was sitting in my drafts... oops. Anyway - Gotye is a huge favorite of mine and I'm so stoked that he's made such a name for himself this past year. The amount of times I listen to his music every week is borderline embarrassing. So catchy, so different, so good. And Gotye + Kimbra? Perfection. I think they need to do an entire album together - one song is not enough. It needs to happen.

Changing my computer desktop often is just one of the ways I stay inspired while working. My current desktop background is from the lovely gals over at Our Paper Shop. I keep trying to come up with words for this past year. But truthfully... I can't. This was one of the weirdest and most challenging years of my life. And to be even more truthful, 2011 broke my heart, in a huge and overwhelming way that will stay with me for a very long time. I will never ever be the same.

I think some years will leave you without words, and that's perfectly okay.

The new year always brings a certain hope, and I am holding on to that hope as tightly as I can. I believe in hope. And I believe in optimism. Even when it's the hardest in the world to do, having the smallest amount of optimism can change everything. I believe that there is always a Light at the end of the tunnel. You might not see it now, but it's there. I promise you. I believe that some years are tough. Real tough. But I believe that these tough years are for a reason. Reasons far beyond our comprehension. Reasons that we might never fully know or understand. Some years, you will feel stuck. Like your feet are made of cement. Like the world is zooming past you and you're way behind, not knowing which direction to choose and feeling beyond overwhelmed.

But I also believe that these years will shape you, and will make you more grateful than ever for the beautiful and simple things in life.

Even though these years can break you down... try not to lose sight of your dreams. Dreams are important. They matter.

I'm going into this new year with only one expectation. Scratch that. Anticipation is a better word. I'm anticipating this one thing...

I hope 2012 is an exciting and extraordinary adventure. Whatever that means. That's all I want.
And I wish that for you, too. I hope you have a truly extraordinary 2012. I'm so glad you're part of my life. Thank you for being here. You mean so much to me.

First off, tell us a little bit about yourself!
I am a free spirited mama to my two girls, Ocean and Luna. In love with my best friend, Marc. I strive to live simply and naturally.

When did you start blogging and why?
I started blogging a little over a year ago in November 2010. I needed an outlet of sorts and I wanted to change the way people thought of young parents and their assumed lifestyle. I wanted people to try living simply as well. I wanted to inspire.

How has blogging changed your life? What are you favorite things about blogging?
Blogging has changed the way I look at the world. I have become more forgiving, more accepting and more aware. When I first started I had a naive view of what motivated people and now, after connecting with so many different people from all over, I see that we are really all so much alike. We each have so much more in common than we realize.
My favorite thing about blogging is probably a spin off of the above, connecting, becoming aware and the growth that produces.

What are some of your favorite blogs right now and why?
Hmmm...well, I am loving A Cup of Jo and Nat the Fat Rat because they both live in NYC and we are making a HUGE move to NYC this January! I am also really loving Honest to Blog because she writes very in depth and honestly about personal development.

What is one of your most favorite things about the holiday season?
Hot chocolate, cuddles under thick blankets, ornament making, decorating, picking out millions of gifts for my hubs.

Describe yourself in five words:
perfectionist, mama, tree-hugger, lover and friend.

Love this photoshoot that Young & Hungry did for Kinfolk. Her outfit with the hat/jacket/dress/socks/boots - perfect! So, so gorgeous. I also love the last shot of them at the table. Cozy, indeed!

THIS BOOK. Oh my. I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy. I'll probably read it in one sitting. (I do that with most books... I get lost and I can't put it down and before I know it, it's 5am and I'm almost finished)

I've admired women like Diane Keaton, Meryl Streep, and Goldie Hawn for a long, long time. I've been enamored with acting since I was a child, and these are some of the actresses that caught my eye at a young age. Their charisma, their effortless talent, and their infectious personalities continue to inspire me. I remember the first time I saw Annie Hall... I was immediately drawn to Diane. I just thought, she is so fantastic and effortlessly cool! I loved that she was so stylish, but what is so great about her is that it never ever looks like she's trying too hard. Diane wears what she loves and that's that. She can pull off menswear like nobody's business, and she can make just about any hat look completely fabulous.

Watching the video below brought tears to my eyes. I think it's because her passion, her enthusiasm, and her love for her craft, her family, and her life are so apparent. I love her energy and the way she tells stories. I just find her utterly fascinating.
