I love this picture. I love the movement, the moment, the colors. And, as a secret, I actually took this picture with my point and shoot because I didn't feel like lugging my heavy lens around that day. I wish I would have had my SLR, just for the sharpness it would have provided, but I love this picture anyway. It's truly a capture of our real life that day.

My son is playing his 2nd year of baseball....this year it's A-Ball, which is coach-pitch. He loves it. It's a joy to watch him have fun and succeed in something he loves. I'm hoping we'll have many more years of watching him play.

Let them Be Little

My entry for I Heart Faces this week. The theme is "let them be little." This is a "mommy-goggles" pictures of my boys. We were staying at the little camper cabin you see in the background, watching the sun go down. Well, as a photographer, I was trying to get pictures of the sunset over Lake Superior, and I turn around, and see this scene behind me. I'm so glad this is what I captured! There will be many, many more sunsets over Lake Superior, but this moment, in this place, with my boys at this age, dancing and singing with joy, is once-in-a-lifetime.

I did an evening session with one-year old Brooks and his parents. It was quite hilarious when he discovered the water fountain. He was determined on making his way to it every time his mom or dad walked with him, as you'll see. He is a handsome little guy, and this first picture is one of my all-time favorites.

Little Miss Tessa was the epitome of TWO at this session. She wanted to do things her way, and that was it. Luckily I had a special stool just for her and we were able to get some great pictures. Her little brother, Crosby, was the easiest, most laid-back little guy. He just hung out and took it all in.

This is my neighbor boy. He's a no-holds-barred kinda boy. Although he's 3.5 years older than my son (in the back), they are great buddies. I love that I captured this image of him.

I had a fun session with the Aasen Family. We explored a nature center, searching for the right bridges. We finally found them at the end of the session, and the boys loved watching the geese and the trains. One goose was really interested in the boys' snacks and decided to hop onto the bridge...luckily we had just finished taking pictures, because it was getting way too close!

I love flowers. Especially in the spring when it seems like life is renewed once more. And one of my favorite flowers is the tulip. And I really do love the colors of tulips, especially the orange and red ones, but when I popped this picture into high contrast black and white, I struck a chord with me.
