This month's Stamp Club Projects were of the treat variety.

With Christmas quietly sneaking up on us I thought it would be good to be prepared with some quick & easy treats.

I changed turned the Halloween Treats into Christmas treats by simply changing the colours & adding a different stamped sentiment from the Punches Three Hostess Set.

I've taken a Whittakers long chocolate log & embellished it:

Start with a 5"x3" piece of Riding Hood Red & scallop the short ends, then wrap it around the bar & secure it in place.

Next, I've used a piece of Garden Green DSP from the Hostess Pack of 6x6 Designer Series Papers - trimmed to 3 1/2" x 3 & wrapped that around the bar.

I've tied a 25cm piece of 1 1/4" Riding Hood Red Striped Grosgrain (from the Spring Mini) around the bar with a reef knot (left over right, then right over left)

The to finish it off I've used the Curly Label Bundle to create my tag; I stamped the striped image with Riding Hood Red Ink & punched it out with the Curly Label Punch. Next, I stamped the "Merry Christmas" image in Garden Green & cut out just the oval. I mounted it on to garden Green card stock & trimmed around the curly label (leaving a 2-3mm border).

Finally, I punched a hole with my crop-a-dile & threaded through a piece of twine to attach it to my ribbon - Viola a super cute & yummy treat.

Our last project was the triangle box using the Winter Post stamp set, which I'm working on a video for - so keep your eye's peeled for that one.

Scrapbooking with Stampin' Up!

Before I joined Stampin' Up! I used to use all sorts of products & was always looking for the latest & greatest.

But when I joined & decided to do it as a business I figured it made economic sense to use purely SU! And I'll be honest, it has taken some adjustment, but at the weekend I felt like I was hitting my stride again & it was such a great feeling.

A while back I mentioned the Bright Delights Rub-ons & how I hadn't used them much - well that all changed last weekend - check this cutie out:

I've also been trying to use up my embellishments from the Spring Mini catalogue, which expires at the end of the month - that way I have a great excuse to buy more.

So you'll be seeing lots of Corduroy Buttons & Brads, as well as the gorgeous Forest Friends stamp set - I just love all the critters in the set as well as the tree - such a cute set for $28.95 - if you like them be sure to get an order in before November 30th.

The Versatile Crop-a-Dile

The Cropadile is an all in one tool for punching & setting eyelets.

It's also fabulous for punching through thick material like chipboard, CDs, leather etc

But a cute little feature of this tool is that it can also add interest to your projects with a little dry embossing.

In this example I've punched out this cute tag with the Scallop Circle Punch & the 1 3/8" Circle Punch & then dry embossed each scallop with the crop-a-dile - cute, yes?

All you need to do is line up your scallops & press as if you were setting an eyelet - without the eyelet of course ;o)

A Wonderful Weekend of Scrapbooking

I had a fantastic weekend away on the Sketchbook Retreat.

It was sooooo awesome spending the weekend away with my scrappy friends & it was much needed mojo rejuvenator!

We were given a challenge pack & class kit & here's what I came up with - it was interesting to see how easily my Stampin' Up! embellishments co-ordinated - way cute! Those corduroy brads come from the Spring Mini which expires at the end of the month - so if you want to add some corduroy goodness to your stash you'd better get your order in pronto!

After using up the class & challenge packs I delved into my own stash & just had a ball scrapping - I got my inspiration from various sketches that were floating around.

I came away with a dozen pages 90% complete - some just need titles & I think there's one that needs a little journaling - but all in all it was an amazingly productive weekend - I can't wait for the next one!

Punches Three - Baby Card

I made a really cute baby card the other day & gave it away before I took a photo of it.

So I decided to make another one, it turned out similar - but not the same - naturally I didn't have the same little bits of scrap floating around my table, because I used them on the original card.

After all this time blogging you would think I could remember to take a photo before I give things away - yet another area in my life with room for improvement ;o)

I still like this card though - I love the Sweet Always Designer Series Paper, it's so pretty & I really enjoying USING my stamps - this one is from the Punches Three set - it's an exclusive Hostess Set which co-ordinates with the Scallop Square Punch & the Wide Oval Punch.

Keeping Track of Ideas

Idea Files:

The internet has a wealth of ideas for card making & scrapbooking.

(that's not really me)

One site I subscribe to is pagemaps.com for regular card & layout sketches - I hardly ever use them, but they always come in handy when I hit an inspirational brick wall.

I print off the maps & keep them in a lever arch folder.

As I surf the net & come across sketches I like I group them together (according to site or designer) & print them off too.
