Hello everyone! Several weeks ago, I attended a live concert of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu with my sister. It was quite an entertaining show. Despite living in popular part of the States, it is still quite rare for someone from Japan to ever perform here due to the cost and interest levels.

At the moment, I think Kyary only has one more stop on her world tour, and that is one last performance in Singapore later this week.

The Problem with GILT

It is not a hasty effort to call online retailer, GILT, a total piece of shit. There, I said it. After attending one of those nice shows of a terrific band, I went to the merchandise booth only to be told by the nice man working the booth that the band did not leave anything for me and that GILT never told them about the agreement. The agreement being that I spent an extra $20 in order to get a signed-lithograph of the band. So maybe it was an honest mistake.

I ended up shooting GILT customer service an email about situation. After no email response, I sent them another email four month after my first attempt. This time, their representative explained the situation and told me that they can give me one through the mail.

About a month later, GILT sends me an email saying that they cannot get the lithograph to me because they ran out. Really? Right after I emailed you guys immediately after the show? Well, at least they gave me $20 GILT credit instead of crediting my card.

But here is the deal: Everything on their site is massively, utterly overpriced. Sure, I want to buy a t-shirt that is 70 percent off but is still $79. Oh by the way, that was sarcasm.

Anyways, I ended telling them to take the $20 credit and shove it up their ass.

Little Naked Bunny

You might see this little toy and wonder what the fuck is that. That is a little bunny that has his little bunny penis covered by a big leaf. It is made out of resin and named Baldwin, made by Dolly Oblong.

As many readers know, I have two rabbits. Both of them have worn clothes, not to hide their shame, but merely for our amusement.

This little Baldwin, I think, is quite ridiculous looking. It is actually available later today and only limited to 20 pieces at the DOLLYOBLONG shop.

Adventures at the Pet Shop

During the Christmas holidays, I went to a local pet shop to get Nemo and Taco presents (some shampoo and a nice hair brush. There were so many little bunnies hanging around waiting for their new owners to pick them up. They all look like little balls of fur.

The little lop in the last photo was such a cutie. She was following me around, acting very curious, and doing silly little bunny tricks. That is how Nemo used to look like before she got all big and fat. I wanted to take her home, but someone already reserved her. Plus, I think the only rabbits I will obtain will be shelter bunnies. There are many of them in shelter care, unfortunately.

Rabbits are wonderful animals. I always loved them even though I never had one as a pet. As of now, I cannot imagine my life without Nemo and my grandpa.

My Christmas Bonus

My work gave me a giftcard as my Christmas bonus that only works at certain stores, so I used it to get these insanely colored Nike Air Flight 89. Today, I wore them for the first time and burned some retinas. They are bright as hell, right? Couple years ago, I designed a similar pair at Nike ID.

My Time Away Just Living

One has to admit, I have not been blogging as much as I used to. Gratefully, there are things going on in my life. It has been an interesting month indeed. Since having my Galaxy S3, driving around and snapping candids here and there have been one of my favorite marker of my past-times.

Every now and then I go to the comic book shop by my work and pick up some issues to read. Rarely do I read a bunch of issues in a roll. Rather, I would just pick titles I recognize and select the best cover art. Those are the ones I end up buying. This month, Marvel rebooted several of their stories like DC did several months earlier. Another welcome revival is that IDW revived the British comic classic, Judge Dredd.

Once a month, I go to a twice-a-week collectible warehouse in the suburb of Los Angeles to pick up some nice toys. A couple of weeks ago, I saw this interesting red-colored Delorean DMC-12 in the parking lot.

I finally watched Wreck-It-Ralph with my girlfriend. After the movie, this kid was trying to stick his little brother into this 3D glasses recycling bin. Mission successful.

Last week, we had a nice dinner with my friend Kenny at Red Lobster.

Starbucks gave me a coupon for a free coffee, so I tried their Caramel Macchiato for the first time and it was awesome!

My friend finally got married to his girlfriend. That is their nice wedding cake.

Someone at work left this Miss Pacman costume by my desk. It has a moving mouth and everything.

After putting up our plastic Christmas tree last night, my rabbit Nemo was pretending to be a present under the tree. Sorry the photograph is a little blurry, but I have a shaky hand.

Unfortunately, the last couple of months has seen my addiction for Transformers toys grow. I used to collect them when I was younger, but recently the itch resurfaced leading to a lot of paychecks invested into the little plastic robots.

Hopefully, I will blog on a more regular basis, but that is kind of easier said than done.

Maridah and Other Cosplayers Get Facebook Shafted

Maridah, a popular cosplayer, had her cosplay profile deleted on Facebook, part of the social network's site to purge "illegal" accounts violating their policies. She spoke to Manny Guardado from theGamePop.com.

"I woke up pretty early this morning to find my facebook page deactivated. To be honest, I was pretty confused about it and thought it was only me. Once I started tweeting about it and getting some responses back from people just waking up to the same situation, I realized it was most likely due to our names all containing ‘cosplay’ in them. It was the one common factor everyone shared." -MARIDAH

As a cosplayer, I am dumbfounded by Facebook's very fickle move. I am assuming as long as you have a Page account, that will be left unhindered. Twitter, Google+, and other social networking sites have left those profiles intact. Plus, Facebook wants real user's personal information in order to sell advertisements and have something to leverage. They do have to answer to stockholders.

Yet, there are people on Facebook using it to bully, whose profiles are left intact, clearly violating numerous policies.

Nike Mach Force Returns!

Over twenty years ago, the original Mach Force was available for sale by those wonderful people at Nike. Twenty years later, the mid-version of the sneaker is back on-sale around the world, and I finally got my hands on a pair! While it looks noticeably different than its original incarnation, this one is one of those special remakes that actually looks better than the original.

As you can see, not quite the same at all. The sequel borrows a lot from the current retro Nike Sky Force, down to the gigantic FORCE in bold font on the tongue. Yea, I think Nike has just lied a little bit again! But, I am not complaining this time.

Ubiq x Hello Kitty Sneaker

In case everyone did not get enough Hello Kitty for the past month, here is something created by Ubiq, a wonderful sneaker store located in Philadelphia. The whole collection was recently released on the Boston-based online store, Karmaloop. The sizes are quickly selling out, and you can probably see why.

These look like a stuffed animal staples onto the tongue of the sneakers! Anyways, if the price tag is too high or the sneakers too hard to get, how about just gluing a Hello Kitty to a pair of Vans? Hmm, I think I have a new DIY idea for next weekend!

Royal/T Maid Cafe Closes

If you enjoy tea, art, or even maids, Royal/T was the only place in Los Angeles featuring all three together. Not just a regular maid cafe, this soon to be closed treasure features an enormous exhibition space for monthly art shows featuring Nara Yoshitomo, KAWS, and even Hello Kitty herself. For me, it was a place where I frequented for the past four years. It pains me to see, at least the physical brick-and-mortar aspect, closed forever.

If there was on thing special about this place, I cannot think of another venue where you can have a tea party served by maids, while looking at art from some of the greatest modern artists. And occasionally, they have really humongous events with musicians and fashion icons from Japan. It brought together everything that I love about my life in the past decade and created a sanctuary for me to wind down when I was having a lot of troubles in my life.

Some of the events I have been to here: Hello Kitty Three Apples exhibit and Wakeshima Kanon first American show.

I had to admit, the food was not spectacular. But I enjoyed nice little pots of tea and my perennial favorite, the Royal/T signature Milk Tea.

Okay, I think that will be all of the semantics. Royal/T is closing its cafe this Sunday, and the whole space next week. The Royal/T name does live on, though. The owner will still have pop-up exhibits and art shows. Even so, this will be a place I will miss dearly. I got some nice keepsakes to help the memory live on.

I found this awesome Pullip Hello Kitty made by JUN and Sanrio! Pullip are pretty much originate from Korea but are currently really popular in Japan. Most of their dolls are collaborations with different anime, film, and iconic characters. This particular Hello Kitty version was sold out a long time ago. I was lucky to find it in great condition and heavily discounted.

The one item I will treasure is this Royal/T necklace made by Plastique. I love Plastique ever since I picked up a cassette tape pendant from them at a random arts & craft show last year. Next to that is a KAWS keychain, a really expensive one costing $25. Not surprisingly, that was the cheapest KAWS item, as the item I had my eye on was $200, and the KAWS Stormtrooper was selling for $1000! They are really expensive art pieces/toys.

Anyways, I'm a little nostalgic this weekend. But I am glad to be back, though! I have been working a lot this past week. This is actually my only day off. I am working OT tomorrow. But I will get back talking to you guys soon!

Hello Kitty x Sonic the Hedgehog Plush

News just in from the wonderful people from Joystiq, there will be a Hello Kitty x Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration to commemorate the relaunch of the Sega Tokyo Joyopolis. Unfortunately, it is only available at those Sega locations only in Japan starting next year, at least that is the information for now.

However, Hello Kitty fans who attended the San Diego Comic Convention this weekend can purchase a Hello Kitty x Chun Li plush from the Capcom booth for around $40 USD. It is also blue and features an outfit from the Zero/Alpha era Chun Li. It is a SDCC Exclusive, but that probably doesn't mean you cannot find it online somewhere sometime next week.

Yay for Sanrio for always striving to make as many collaborations in order to keep the kitty brand new and fresh. Remember fat Sonic from the first few video games? This is what he is going to look like as a Sanrio character.

Sashihara Scandal Gets Sucky

Nearly a week after Sashihara Rino was voted up to fourth place in the Senbatsu Sousenkyo of 2012, news leaked of her photos featuring her in sexually-compromising situations. Promptly Sasshi was transferred to HKT48, the newest 48 team that is located in Fukuoka. The first set of photos were leaked by who is believed to have dated Sasshi a couple years prior. Photos featured her performing acts such as lifting up her shirt to reveal her breasts. The incriminating evidence is the similarity of the futon in the photos of the girl in question and the real Sasshi.

Fans on various mediums addressed either the need for the censorship of the photos and smear tactics, or calling for her to be "graduated" due to the severity of sex scandal from prior 48 members. Sasshi is considered the favorite of Aki-P, the founder of the 48 gimmick. Therefore, there is speculation she is getting preferential treatment, maybe even moving her to HKT48 as a planned "punishment" due to prior knowledge of her indiscretions. That being the case, Sasshi was primed to be the frontgirl of the new 48 group, one that has yet to release a single.

Unfortunately, a news article of a very risque photo showing her performing fellatio on an unknown male. The photo, of course, pixelated the female's eyes. There is no definitely idea what this will do to Sasshi's immediate career.
