Finally in July our “Secret Garden” floristry course was a lovely wild arrangement inspired by my trip to Chelsea and Hampton Court flower shows and included Alliums, Hydrangea, Delphiniums, Eremus, Nigella and Scabious – a fabulous evening was had by all.




The Kendalls School Room is closed for the month of August as we have weddings to prepare but rest assured we will be back in September with a new selection of courses to inspire you and will be releasing dates for our popular Christmas courses!

Louise's wedding bouquet consisted of a ball of all white Peonies and Avalanche white Roses and the bridemaids' bouquet complimented the bride beautifully. Louise was totally overcome when she saw the flowers.
  

A 12ft garland decorated the beam in the conservatory made up of Hydrangea, Roses, Peonies and Gypsophila, which simply looked amazing and hand tied bunches of Gypsophila decorated the aisle.

Hydrangea and Peonies with Boston ferns looked elegant on each of the reception tables.

A truly lovely wedding on a wonderful sunny day!

We were delighted to work with Clare to create a fun-filled Saturday afternoon at the Kendalls Florist School Room in April and had the pleasure of showing a lovely group of ladies “how to make a hand tied” consisting of Gerbra, Viburnum, Peonies, Clematis, Roses and Alstromeria.

All the girls had a fabulous afternoon with the Procescco flowing and of course lots of cake, I think we can say they all had an amazing time and they created some beautiful hand tieds that they were able to take home with them too!

The brides and bridesmaids bouquets complimented each other beautifully

with Memory Lane Roses, Avalanche Pink Roses, Silver Leaf, Rosemary

and Gypsophila.

The table arrangements consisted of Kilner jars of various foliages pink

Hyacinths, Memory Lane Roses, Rosemary, white Ranunculas and matched

the hanging pew ends which adorned the aisle.

The staircase at Offley Place was dressed in long soft ruscus and the venue

was finished off with Bird Cages dotted around the venue.

Kendalls were delighted to provide the wedding flowers for the Spring wedding

on a lovely sunny day! It really couldn’t have been more perfect!

Louise's hand tied bouquet complimented her wedding dress beautifully consisting of white Calla lilies, Roses, freesia and double Lisianthus.  Her three bridesmaids looked gorgeous in their royal blue bridesmaids dresses, had flowers to match the bride.

The Old Palace at Hatfield House looked stunning with these amazing Martini glasses filled to the brim with an abundance of white flowers to include Oriental Lilies, Hydrangea, Gypsophila, Lisianthus, Roses and warm white fairy lights!

The Bridesmaids and flower girls (9) in total complimented the brides bouquet beautifully!

The table centres equally set the scene in the Conservatory at St Michael's Manor with the added use of  hydrangeas and clove Carnations.

 Dear Louise

I wanted to say a huge thank you for the beautiful flowers you did for our wedding day. The flowers were a really important part of the day for me because I think the colours and textures create the atmosphere.

I thought you and your team did an absolutely stunning job – I adored the bouquets and was taking photos at every opportunity – even the next day! I left my bridal bouquet in my flat during our 10-day honeymoon in Sicily and the flowers were still looking lovely when we got home.

So many people on the day commented on how gorgeous the flowers were and especially the use of warm colours and the interesting looking berries. I’ve suggested to Tim that an identical bouquet could be a great anniversary present every year  Thank you so much,  Laura

The green of the Apples complimented the registrars' table with pale blue Hydrangea, Avalanche white Roses, Shamrock and deep blue Delphiniums.

The bridesmaids bouquets were a ball of Gypsophila that are very simple and pretty.

The tall clear vase table arrangements looked awesome on the tables filled with Granny Smith Apples, as did the pedestal in the entrance which met all the guests upon their arrival!

We loved creating these Apple inspired wedding arrangements and turning the Riding a School into an orchard for the day. We hope you love this wedding creation too!

The bride looked simply stunning and her bouquet of white Peonies, Sweet Avalanche Roses, Lisianthus and Gypsophila looked very elegant.

The staircase in the main reception looked spectacular with white and pink Hydrangea dressing the bannister.

The Library at Brocket Hall where the ceremony took place was dressed with a 3ft runner consisting of Roses, Gypsophila, white Peonies and pink and white Hydrangeas. 

The bride and groom opted for Candelabras as their centre pieces to match the rest of their wedding flowers.

Gemma's hand tied bridal bouquet consisted of white and pale pink Avalanche Roses, with double Lisianthus and Gypsophila. I’m sure you’ll agree they make a lovely couple.

The five bridesmaids, dressed in gorgeous pale pink dresses complimented her beautifully and their bouquets were smaller versions of the bridal bouquet.

Gemma loved the vintage theme so each table centrepiece and the top table were decorated with individual t-lights and candles and flowers in silver vases using pink Avalanche roses, white roses, gypsophila to create a simple but very effective look.

 We had a lovely thank you note from the bride and groom...

"Thank you so much for our beautiful wedding flowers...they looked stunning on the day and were everything we had hoped for" Thank you Gemma and Gary".

Grey, silver, lilac and white were her theme and Niki loved Succulent plants so much so we included them in her hand held bouquet - along with Amnesia, Ocean Song Roses, white Ranunculas, Silver Leaf and Bruni.

Her bridesmaids complimented the bride and their dresses with Ocean Song lilac Roses, Thistle, Silver Leaf and Bruni.

Here’s a close up of the beautiful bridal bouquet and the bridesmaids’ bouquets so you can take a closer look, the colour combination is so natural.

The tables in the Drawing Room at Brocket Hall were dressed with an elegant selection of martini glasses and hurricane vases in a wreath ring.

The mantelpiece runner and the top table runner again with the same flowers - Succulents, Shamrock, Roses, Thistle and Carnations - finished off this gorgeous and fashionable wedding!

Here's what one of the ladies on the workshop had to say...

"What a great Mother's Day gift, the perfect present.  As soon as I saw the workshop advertised on the Kendalls Facebook page without delay I booked two places. One for me and one for Mum.  So pleased that I could tick something off my list of things to do and I knew she would love it.

Louise gave us a warm and friendly welcome, and when I was offered a glass of wine I knew the evening was going to be fun.  Before we got started everyone had the opportunity to introduce themselves, it was nice to get to know the other course participants and to hear how much experience they had in floral design – I was a complete beginner!

We started by adding tulips, then came the hyacinths, adding more colour and fragrance to the arrangement.  With the addition of the white and blue anemones, the arrangement was really starting to take shape and look great. 

A brief break and time to enjoy some home-made apple cake, before adding the final flower - the beautifully vibrant ranunculus.  To finish off the arrangements we used eucalyptus leaves and sprigs of cherry blossom. 

And here we have the finished result …… Mum and I with Spring in a Vase.

It was a really fun evening and everyone really enjoyed themselves. I would definitely recommend the Kendalls Florist workshops to my friends and family.  I’ll be booking onto another one for sure! "     Jane, St Albans

We supplied two bridal bouquets, one for each bride consisting of the following flowers although the colours were the same the design was slightly different - cool water and white avalanche Roses, two tone white and lilac double Lisianthus, Gypsophlia, and lilac Freesia.

The bridesmaids complimented the brides beautifully with their matching bouquets and the flower girl looked very cute with her Gypsophlia hand tied.

The tables were dressed at Sopwell House with floating cool water Roses and beargrass in goldfish bowls and the chairs down the aisle for the ceremony had Cool Water Roses placed in each chair.

Pedestals and Registrars table runner completed this truly vibrant and colourful wedding!

Mhairi looked simply gorgeous and following her Scottish roots we included blue Thistle in her bridal bouquet of Sweet pink and white Avalanche Roses, white spray Roses, Gypsophila.

Compote Bowls adorned the Reception Room at Taplow Manor along with a long and low arrangement over the fireplace and a pedestal arrangement at the Buddhist Temple.

The flowers selected were white Oriental Lilies, sweet pink and white Avalanche Roses, white double Lisianthus, green and white Hydrangea.

The button holes for the groom and ushers consisted of a simple white rose.

The Martini glasses in the St Albans Suite at Sopwell House consisted of white Delphiniums, white Hydrangea, Avalanche white roses, white double Lisianthus and Veronica. 

The pedestals at the church also had the same flowers.

 All 6 bridesmaids held a ball of all simple but beautiful gypsophila and the flower girls carried a single stem of pink gerbra.

The Pimms was flowing as was the laughter on this very relaxing and chilled Summer evening!  The course was full and the ladies did a fabulous job of creating a stunning country style arrangement in a trug packed with a fabulous selection of Summer flowers including stunning blue Hydrangea, Peonies, Avalanche Pink Roses, Lilac Stock, Lilac Sweet Pea, and Alchemilla Mollis.

They all worked really hard to create this stunning arrangement that I'm sure you will agree looks amazing and very professional!

Here's the first of our gorgeous brides...

On a lovely sunny September day Felicity got married at Sopwell House, St Albans. Her bouquet consisted of yellow Illos Roses, yellow Freesia, purple double Lisianthus with Eucalputus and other complimenting foliages. Photograph supplied by Paul Phillips photography.

Olivia looked stunning with her simple but very effective all Gypsophila Bridal Bouquet to compliment her simple but classic wedding dress at Flitwick Manor on a lovely Autumn day last October.

Alice was very specific on the type of bouquet she wanted for her special day and wanted it to include purple double Lisianthus, cerise pink and orange Roses, white Freesia, Gypsophila and blue September. We were thrilled with the end result.  Photo supplied by markhaysom.co.uk

Peonies are Francesca's favourite flower so we created a bouquet for her consisting of pink Peonies, white Hydrangea, Memory Lane Roses, white and pink Avalanche Roses and double Lisianthus. The wedding was in May last year at Shendish Manor.

Her compact hand tied consisted of blue Hydrangea, Heaven pink Roses, deep pink Calla lilies, spray Roses and deep pink Roses. It certainly complimented her dress beautifully!

 The grooms choose a pink Calla Lily for his buttonhole.

The Registrars table which included candles followed the theme of the wedding and the 13ft bannister was dressed in various foliages to include Berried Ivy, Soft Ruscus and decorated with pink and blue Hydrangea.

The venue and the bride and groom all looked stunning!

In July 2014, Kate and Andrew enjoyed a lovely sunny day on their wedding day at Offley Place. 

The brides bouquet consisted of dried Lavender, Sweet Peas, Akito Roses, Hydrangea and two tone

blue and white double lisianthus.

The table arrangements in the Orangery at Offley Place looked very delicate and pretty

with Akito Roses, Lilac Hydrangea, Lilac double Lisianthus.

In September 2014, Hannah and Craig's wedding also at Offley Place was truly memorable.

The bride wore yellow shoes and the groom yellow socks!  Yellow was their favourite colour.

The bride's flowers consisted of white Spray Roses, White Freesia and yellow Craspedia with

silver foliages to include silver Leaf and Eucalyptus.

The bridesmaids consisted of yellow Freesia, yellow Spray Roses and silver foliages

which complimented their dresses beautifully.

Buttonholes were very striking with white Freesia and yellow Craspedia with silver Leaf.

Sarah and Mark enjoyed a fabulous day back in June at The Riding Stables, Hatfield House.

The bride and groom looked at ease  in the fabulous country gardens. The brides bouquet consisted of Vandela, Amnesia and Avalanche pink Roses with varigatged ivy and a few cream spray Roses.

The Bridesmaids bouquets complimented their dresses and lipstick! with a ball of Vandela, Avalanche Pink and Cool Water Roses.

The table arrangements consisted of an arrangement of Vandela, Avalanche, cream spray Roses with various foliages and Gypsophilia.

The Riding Stables looked truly stunning with the addtion of the bunting around the venue!

The table arrangements arranged in glass cube mirror vases complimented the bridesmaids dresses with Calla Lilies, pale pink Peonies and Avalanche pink Roses.

The Bridal bouquet was simply stunning to include Avalanche roses, white ranunculas and alchemilla mollis. 

In contrast the wedding, at The Riding Stables opted for amazing blue delphiniums, light blue hydrangea, white double lisianthus and white Avalanche roses. 

The table arrangements complimented the brides bouquet and looked very fresh and stylish.

August 2014

Some amazing compotes filled with the same flowers and gold candles were placed in the library at Brocket Hall. 

Finally we created a 15ft table runner using the same beautiful flowers and gold candles that filled the length of the dining table - I'm sure you'll agree it looked truly spectacular and an enjoyable English country house weekend was had by all!
