The Joker Collectible Figures from the Batman series have been receiving high accolade in the collectible market. Amid much expectation, Hot Toys again steps its foot into the Batman series, presenting the long-awaited DX Joker Collectible Figure from the Batman movie directed by Tim Burton in 1989 with the likeness firstly granted by renowned actor Jack Nicholson for developing the 1/6th collectible figure.

This Joker Collectible Figure is truly movie-accurate, highlighting the highly detailed head sculpt with Parallel Eyeball Rolling System (PERS), sophisticated costume and accessories.

After classic Superman, this is my most anticipated 12inch collectibles as well....and yes Michael Keaton as Batman is in this lineup

Here's the photos i took in STGCC 2011, it's really good.
In fact, looking at the prototype beats the difference looking at photos online.
As long HT maintain 90% QC as shown in the showcase, it's another hole in my wallet :P

Go Hot Toys Booth, sure wallet itchy right?
I think most HT collectors really enjoyed themselves this year, especially myself.
For a fraction of $10 entry, you don't have to fly over US or HK to gain the full access to their latest prototype display and exclusive. I wasn't expecting to get any HT ToyFair Exclusive as we all know how crazy the queue is.

This is the only exclusive available on the last day, so anything is better than nothing right? :P

Here's a snapshot from my iphone on the unboxing.

Overall, i think it's a impulsive purchase due to the hype over so many cool toys coming soon from HT but hey, it's still a pretty decent piece for most Predator fan.

O..ya...i think i dig the Hot Toys Iphone 4 casing even more..heehee :P

Hand itchy yesterday, so i did a quick digirama.
First, i use Photoshop CS5 to adjust the sharpness, level and "clone stamp" to clone the background. And then, Iphone App "LensFlare" to create the lighting.
Took less than 15mins, quite fast hehehe :P

Just pick this up this evening.
Overall the sculpt is good as usual for their predator series except for the paint job, i feels that the green is too bright...quite a pity though but its the last piece to complete the 3 of them together.

Return of Fan Favourites at STGCC 2011
The fourth edition of STGCC will include familiar faces and new names from Marvel Comics, DC Comics and the Eastern pop culture space that fans will be eager to meet, and STGCC is proud to reveal that C.B. Cebulski and Simone Legno will be returning to Singapore.

Cebulski is Marvel Entertainment’s Senior Vice President of Creator and Content Development.He scouts for talent on an international level, travelling the world on the hunt for the best and brightest new artists. Cebulski appeared at last year's STGCC where he spoke on panels and conducted portfolio reviews with local artists aspiring to work for Marvel Comics.

Cebulski will be back this year to speak more on Marvel's heroes and its upcoming books – and spending more time to meet with local artists and review the portfolios of aspiring creators.

Italian toy designer Simone Legno, the creator of the very popular Tokidoki brand, will also be back again at STGCC. The charismatic designer has been a staple highlight at STGCC since its first edition, launching exclusive collectibles at the event every year. Last year, Legno collaborated with SingPost to launch a limited edition Singapore stamp collection bearing his signature Japanese-style artwork, and Legno and Tokidoki are currently at work on a limited edition Tokidoki “Zip & Cody” figurine for the 2011 instalment of STGCC.

Ms Yeow Hui Leng, Project Director of STGCC, said: “We hear our fans and know how much they relish the chance to meet their favourite artists. Walk Through the History of the Superhero Movie
STGCC fans can also look forward to a special feature at this year's convention. A series of superhero movie posters will go on display at the event, showcasing the birth and growth of the superhero film genre through original movie posters from 1970s classics to today’s modern movie epics.

Pop Corn Pop, a locally-based company specializing in original movie memorabilia, will be presenting the gallery at STGCC, starting from a rare, original 1978 Superman print (worth $750 today) to the latest Captain America banners. Between them, attendees can get a glimpse of other superhero blockbusters including 1989’s Batman and 2002’s Spider-Man.

Fans of Iron Man, Green Lantern and Captain America, which will hit Singapore screens in June and July 2011 respectively, can also get their hands on the original print posters at the Pop Corn Pop booth at STGCC. SingPost will also launch a limited edition “Marvel Comics & Spiderman
Ultimate 50 MyStamp Collection” – an exclusive stamp collection featuring Marvel superheroes and Spiderman’s most unique 50 comic covers. SingPost will also be reproducing Spiderman’s very first comic book issue for sale at STGCC.

Here's my preference in order, so which is your most anticipated one?

For me, Indy is my TOP choice anytime anywhere.
Time to clear space for this best version so far from Hot Toys.

Finally, one of my 2009 wish list to HT has been granted.

Didn't expect this but i would gladly take another 12inch harlock anytime :)
The best is they can make a Captain Future 12inch as well? hehehe

I hope we will finally get a authentic Johnny Depp scuplt which is lacking in the 12inch market.
There's so many movie characters that he's in and a lot of collectors wish we had his "HEAD" lolx

Would like to see how good this will come out?

Otaku's heavenly creatures, they might be my 2nd HT female characters for my collection provided the movie by Jack Snyder is good.

Not my favorite childhood superhero, but hopefully the movie is as good as it look.
Plus, i prefer the old costume design in the comic or older movies, maybe HT will make that in future?

Welcome to the MOO family, bought this point and shoot camera in Best Denki, IMM (Jurong East) on Saturday.

Was researching and debating whether to get a LUMIX or RICOH, but due to the fact that gadget has a short lifespan on value so i went ahead to buy this good for value and function.

Hopefully this will last me for a good few years down the road for lazy point and shoot :)

Compact and slim in size but yet powerful on the functions and engine.

Below are some outdoor test shot i did on Monday, 20th Dec 2010 along Waterloo/Queens Street while heading towards my favorite la kopi hangout, TFH.

I like the tracking engine...it gives you the ability to track the portion you want to focus and makes the other blur into the depth and background.

For cameras with digital zoom, micro function is not ideal but for me, it's enough.

The 720p HD video recording mode has some nice features as well, below is a quick sample of it's miniature video effect:

Night recording not pro-fantastic but good enough as compared to other models.

[Media Release] STGCC 2010 Sets the Pace for Pop Culture Growth in Region

Pop culture is projected to grow in the region, with keen fans helping to boost the industry in Singapore and regionally. This was the view of industry professionals after the Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention (STGCC) 2010 ended its three-day run yesterday. Over 28,000 visitors, with a visitorship of 72,000, flocked to the show and gave the thumbs up to the quality and variety of the anime, manga, comics, toys, live performances and panel and academic discussions.

For some fans, it was a dream come true that so many of their idols were here in Singapore. Roshadiyanto Bin Ibrahim, 24, had been first in the queue for all three days, turning up everyday at 6am. He is a big Marvel fan and “I never thought that they would come to this part of the world. It’s like a dream come true!”

Followers of Cosplay have also given the thumbs up to the better quality of participation at STGCC.

Clive Lee, an experienced Singaporean cosplayer and a judge at the Cosplay@STGCC competition, said: “This competition, compared to others, has a very interesting variety of costumes making the competition very entertaining as people are looking forward to the variety of costumes they can see from the East and West. These ranged from humanoid costumes such as those of anime characters to the very elaborated mecha costumes like Gundam. Some of the finalists have even participated in world-class competitions.”

The show’s ‘East meets West’ flavour featuring personalities and artists from the US, Europe and Asia was a major draw for fans. Many agreed that the top-line content this year, like the artists, writers and illustrators from Marvel Comics and popular toy designers from Hong Kong and Japan appearing at one event made the experience unique.

There was overwhelming response to the panel sessions by Marvel Comics and Lucasfilm as well as by fan favourite Simone Legno, creator of the popular Tokidoki brand, with all the sessions filled to capacity.

And as a measure of fan adulation, fans of Japanese leading girl idol group AKB48 started queuing as early as 7am on Saturday, 11 Dec for the group’s Meet-The-Fans session at 7pm.

“STGCC is a world-class pop culture event in one of the most amazing places on Earth. I can’t wait to come back!” said Gail Simone, critically-respected comics writer best-known for her work in Wonder Woman, Secret Six and Birds of Prey.

Marvel’s international talent scout C.B. Cebulski said: “I can honestly say that STGCC 2010 surpassed all of mine and Marvel's expectations! The level of local talent, coupled with the overwhelming fan enthusiasm here, made it one of our best convention experiences ever. And while I hope our presence here left fans thinking, "Make Mine Marvel", I know I leave thinking, "Stay Sensational, Singapore!"

Mr Cebulski is bringing home 16 portfolios shortlisted from the 53 received to Marvel for review and their creators may have a chance to work with Marvel Comics.

Project Director Yeow Hui Leng of show organiser, Reed Exhibitions, said that the “East meets West” collaboration between Reed Exhibitions Singapore and ReedPOP in the USA brought more international participation and content from the US and Europe to the Asian audience, with some pop culture personalities making their debut in Asia.

She said: “Our decision to co-produce the show with ReedPOP – the team behind events including the New York Comic Convention, New York Anime Festival, and Star Wars Celebration – paid off in terms of the quality and variety of the show.”

Going Forward STGCC 2011

Ms Yeow said that Reed will continue to invest in STGCC to develop it into one of the leading catalyst in the pop culture space, and as the platform to deliver quality content and spread the currency of cool in Asia.

STGCC 2010 also showed that there are growing opportunities for marketing the region’s pop culture creativity to the global market. This is helped by the growing popularity and easy availability of online media. International trade & consumer platforms such as the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) and STGCC also provide comic creators, writers, illustrators a talent-spotting platform to showcase their works to regional and international publishers, dealers, distributors, manufacturers.

Locally, design schools can leverage on international events such as the STGCC to create greater opportunities for cross-cultural exchange to nurture local and regional talent.

“Singapore’s strategic position provides a strong leverage for these Asian and local artists who wish to reach out to the world and the international audience, and vice versa by giving US and European companies a robust platform to reach out to a whole new world of fans. We are confident that STGCC can become the coolest pop culture event in Asia!” said Ms Yeow.
