<p>Your sponsors’ donations are a big reason your upcoming 5K race is even hitting the ground, right?  These same sponsors, though they may philosophically align themselves to your cause, are also donating for advertising.  They want to get their brand out there in front of as many people as possible.  A race tee sponsor’s back is the perfect way.   Loads of eyes will be on that t-shirt back during the race and well after the race.</p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: bold; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">Keep It Simple&#8230;</span><br />

<p><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">As the race coordinator, it is your responsibility to get the sponsors and to keep them coming back year after year to support your run.  The sponsors will only do this if they feel their advertising is paying off.   Their logo must be clear, concise and memorable.  Here’s how you do it:</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="list-style-type: disc; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">Don’t clutter </span><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;"> People will not remember your phone number nor will they probably ever use it.   If you need to include anything else other than your brand, your website will suffice.  All other information such as city, state and phone number will be found there.</span></li>
<li style="list-style-type: disc; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">Size matters </span><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">The size of your sponsors’ logos is usually based on donation level.   Having three levels is usually enough.  Platinum, Gold and Silver.   Make the higher level big enough so, that the smaller level still can be read.  Your minimum type size should be 11 points for tee printing clarity.</span></li>
<li style="list-style-type: disc; font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">Layout </span><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">Laying out the logos of your sponsor back not only has to do with logo size but, also the logos’ look.  For instance, “heavier” logos (with lots of black in them) should be kept to the sides with saving one for the middle of the line.  This way, the lighter or more delicate logos with finer lines won’t get lost.  You may even want to make these “lighter” logos a </span><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: normal; font-style: italic; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;">touch</span><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;"> bigger so, that they can compete with the bolder logos.</span><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline;"> </span></li>

<p>Holidays are the perfect excuse to show your clients and your staff a little love. Showing appreciation to clients and the people on your team can prove to be a smart move for encouraging more business as well as encouraging productivity in the office.</p>
<p>Consider these opinions of small business owners when asked about holiday gift giving:<br />
- Over 75% feel it helps improve their business<br />
- Over 85% believe it improves employee morale<br />
- Over 55% believe it leads to increased sales<br />
- Over 70% consider it an important part of their marketing effort</p>
<p>Giving gifts that are tastefully decorated with your logo, such as golf shirts, fleece, caps, umbrellas, stadium blankets or other promotionals, can only serve to increase the benefits of your corporate identity programs.</p>

<p><img class="size-full wp-image-84" title="moko" src="http://kennysimprintables.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/moko.gif" alt="Featured: Customer Moko's design" style="width:150px; height:254px; float:left; border:none;" /></p>
<p>Here we have an example of a well-designed tee.  Let&#8217;s look at all of the elements that aid in its success.</p>
<p><strong>Successful Design Element #1:  The Logo</strong></p>
<p>Moko is an organic beauty studio in Old City specializing in services and products for hair and skin.  It&#8217;s clear that this company put a lot of thought into their demographic.  Their clientele is a fashion-forward customer who knows quality and style.  Look at how restrained the logo is.  An elegant font with a small butterfly in the corner.  Nice.</p>
<p><strong>Successful Design Element #2:  The Garment</strong></p>
<p>Because Moko&#8217;s customers know fashion and are environmentally conscientious,  Monique (the owner) chose an American Apparel cap sleeve garment for the women.  She knows that this style appeals to her demographic and will be worn over and over again.  This gives Moko consistent brand promotion while their customer enjoys her stylish look.  Also, the color of the garment works well with Moko&#8217;s 2-color design.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t be shy about asking Kenny&#8217;s Imprintables about garment style suggestions.  We would love to share our knowledge!</p>

<p><span style="color: #4f604f; font-family: Verdana,Geneva,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-weight: bold;">Tip #1:  Strong Design Before Color</span></p>
<p>Two color designs can be strong if designed well.  While it&#8217;s true that a successful design should be perfect even in black and white, an additional color may just be the oomph you&#8217;ve been needing.  Be careful to show restraint when adding color.  Remember, line, negative and positive space and composition is your focus before you add color.</p>
<p><span style="color: #4f604f; font-family: Verdana,Geneva,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-weight: bold;"><br />
Tip #2:  Tee Color Plays A Part<br />
</span><br />
Be sure to give careful consideration on what color you&#8217;re printing.  The color of your canvas (the tee) can make or break your well crafted logo.  For instance, a soft yoga design for your studio wouldn&#8217;t do well on an athletic gold tee.  You&#8217;re looking for calming colors like sage or light blue.</p>
<p><span style="color: #4f604f; font-family: Verdana,Geneva,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-weight: bold;">Tip #3:  Let The Air In</span></p>
<p>Remember to allow plenty of negative space in your design.  You don&#8217;t want to flood your tee with a solid design of ink, do you?  Some people do and in a few cases that works.  However, the rule of thumb is to let your design &#8220;breath&#8221;.  Not only will your print feel softer but, you can have fun with how your colors interact with the color of your tee.</p>
<p>We welcome any questions you may have regarding color and design.  Go ahead and call us!</p>
