Marketing Update

Phew! I was granted access to the kycathhsing@yahoo.com email, and sorted through over 500 emails last night. (I had to put my insomnia and heartburn to good use)

Many of those emails were spam, but I did communicate with about 10 folks who were trying to find the date of the conference. I also sent emails from vendors over to Joan and the Vendor/Speaker committee.

I took over the Twitter account -- if you're looking for those updates, you can follow at KyCathHsing.
I'll hopefully be taking over the FB page soon. We may end up starting a new one if I don't gain administrative privileges soon.

When I get my iPad back from the children, I'll post my notes from Wednesday's meeting.

March 12 update

Our theme for this conference has been decided:
Veritas: Teaching Families in Truth

Many thanks to our host, St Louis Bertrand. We're discussing the best way to direct visitors to the area on the website -- options are 1) Directions from different areas (from North via 1-65, from South via 1-65, East/West via 1-64) or 2) Link to Google Maps.

Note from Dianna -- I believe you can embed Google Maps on the site with the location

Rough schedule at present:
June 1 Vendor Hall and Vendor Workshops (schedule TBA)12pm -8pm, with Vespers and Rosary at 4

June 2 Mass at 7am; Vendor Hall open 8 am-12 noon ( I think that’s right, we can change if I’m wrong on closing time); Speaker Sessions 9am – 1pm; Teen Track 9am – 1pm

St Louis Bertrand has been instrumental in helping us host this conference, and we are grateful! However, folks traveling to the conference need to be aware of the lack of quick spots for meals near the church. This needs to be very clear on the public website.
(Note from Dianna - once we get all committee members on board the blog, it will only be accessible to those members.In other words, the general public isn't seeing this information here.)

Food options: we plan a snack bar, Pizza available for purchase on Fri, Sat box/sandwich lunch available to those who preregister. Donuts and coffee will be provided for all conference attendees Sat morning- this includes the teen track. The Teen Track will include a pizza lunch Saturday.

Registration costs:

$20 Pre-registration individual/$25 Couple ($30 individual / $35 couple at door )

Saturday sandwich lunch guaranteed only for those who pre-register and pre-order.

$5/teen

Clergy and Religious Free

Accepting payment - have we come to a decision about accepting payment online? WePay is an option - people are able to use credit cards, but they pay fees involved, not us.

Lisa will set up meeting with Bryan Reynolds. Our focus is reaching an understanding with the Archdiocese for the sake of the conference and being able to use the name "Catholic". We believe that recognition of STAHG will natually follow so we can use Catholic on our group website with approval. We believe it is time to gain understanding with Archdiocese of our common goals. We're hoping for meeting the week of March 12 or the week after.

If you look to the top of the page, you'll see our different tabs with the breakdown of committees. Click each tab, and you'll see what division is handling.

As a committee member or volunteer, you'll be asked to update us on your progress here. It's seriously as simple as typing an email!

You'll get an invitation from me to be an author on the site. When you log in, click New Post, and just start writing. You'll see a section at the bottom marked Labels - if everyone can use the label of their committee, it will make it easy for posts to be organized by category.

If you have a post/update that covers two categories, just list them both, separated by a comma. For posts that apply to all members, just use Everybody as your label.
