<p><strong>Organizational Setting</strong></p>
<p>The FAO has been in existence since its founding in 1945, making it one of the oldest specialized agencies of the United Nations. FAO Indonesia serves as a vital force in the nation&#8217;s agricultural development, committed to sustainability and food security. From more than 40 years operations, The FAO in Indonesia focuses on enhancing agricultural productivity and food security through sustainable farming practices and improved access to resources. The institution collaborates with government agencies and local communities to promote resilience to natural disasters and climate change in the agriculture sector. Additionally, the FAO supports policies and capacity building initiatives aimed at achieving long-term sustainable development and poverty reduction in Indonesia.</p>
<p>The Province of Riau, Indonesia, was identified in 2024 as a beneficiary of the UK-funded UN-REDD Green for Riau, following a formal request submitted by the Regional Government of Riau to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in 2023. The project aims to strengthen the technical and institutional capacities at the provincial level to enable readiness for accessing high-integrity, results-based climate finance from international sources in support of REDD+ implementation. This UN-REDD project has 7 output areas of which FAO covers mainly output 2 (establishing an initial sub-national forest reference level and the corresponding sub-national forest monitoring arrangements) but contributes also to other project outputs.</p>
<p><strong>Reporting Lines</strong></p>
<p>The Subnational Project Assistant, based in Pekanbaru, will report to and work under the overall managerial administrative leadership and direct supervision of FAO UN-REDD Progamme Lead and will closely coordinate with the Green for Riau Project Team and relevant stakeholders at national and sub-national levels.</p>
<p><strong>Technical Focus</strong></p>
<p>The prospective incumbent will support effective delivery of GREEN for Riau – FAO component activities and ensure smooth communication between the project team with the sub-national stakeholders, including provincial and district governments, and related stakeholders.</p>
<p>The position will also provide technical inputs related to forest carbon inventory and monitoring to support the development of an initial sub-national Forest Reference Emission Level (FREL) for Riau province to assess potential applicability for future climate finance instruments of relevant REDD+ standards.</p>
<p><strong>Tasks and responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Coordinate engagement with provincial stakeholders and maintain effective communication between the project team and subnational counterparts to ensure smooth collaboration</li>
<li>Support to the review on availability, quality, and gaps of data relevant to subnational MRV and FREL development</li>
<li>Support improvements through data collection, validation, integration, and harmonization between national and subnational systems</li>
<li>Assist the development of the TREES Registration Document, including data compilation, methodological descriptions, analysis compliance, technical annexes, and supporting evidence, in coordination with relevant counterparts.</li>
<li>Support the preparation of technical documentation, presentations, and communications with national and subnational stakeholders including government agencies, technical teams, and relevant stakeholders.</li>
<li>Provide technical, logistical and coordination support for meetings, workshops, and capacity development.</li>
<li>Perform other related tasks, as required, in support of project objectives and FAO’s mandate</li>
</ul>

<li>Advanced university degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Natural Resource Management, or a related field</li>

<p>Coral Catch is a female-led organization founded in Indonesia in 2021. We work at the intersection of two closely connected challenges: the rapid decline of coral reef ecosystems and the lack of access for female professionals to technical and leadership roles within marine conservation.</p>
<p>Our approach focuses on building local, long-term capacity. Through training, hands-on experience, research opportunities and mentorship, we empower Indonesian female practitioners and coastal communities to actively participate in conservation, scientific research, and sustainable tourism. Since our founding, 44 scholars have graduated from our award-winning scholarship program and all of them are actively engaged in marine conservation and sustainable tourism. Together, they now form the largest network of local female experts working together in marine conservation in Southeast Asia. Our vision is to build a network of a minimum of 100 female leaders working alongside their communities to protect and restore coral reefs across Indonesia and beyond by 2030.</p>

<p><strong>ABOUT THE POSITION</strong></p>
<p>The Head of Yayasan Coral Catch Indonesia is a hands-on leadership role responsible for executing the organisation’s strategy and managing its day-to-day operations in Indonesia. The three pillars of this role are:</p>
<p><strong>Stakeholder Relations &amp; Government Liaison</strong></p>

<p>Overseeing the day-to-day coordination of Coral Catch’s programs and supporting local partnerships, sponsorship opportunities, and operational growth in Indonesia.</p>

<p class="wp-block-heading has-text-align-center">Cikananga Wildlife Center (CWC – Yayasan Cikananga Konservasi Terpadu) is seeking a passionate Animal Welfare Manager to join our dedicated team in Sukabumi Regency, West Java, Indonesia. CWC is a non-profit organization committed to the conservation of Indonesian wildlife and operates two main animal programs: the Cikananga Wildlife Rescue Center (PPSC) and the Cikananga Conservation Breeding Center (CCBC).</p>
<p class="wp-block-heading has-text-align-center">This position focuses on PPSC, which currently cares for around 250 animals from 57 species. PPSC primarily receives animals confiscated from the illegal wildlife trade by the Indonesian Forestry Ministry. Many arrive in poor condition and require medical care and rehabilitation. Animals are then assessed for rehabilitation, release, or transfer to other institutions. This is a challenging but highly rewarding role for a motivated individual who wants to make a meaningful contribution to animal welfare and conservation.</p>
<p class="wp-block-heading has-text-align-center"><strong>JOB DESCRIPTION ANIMAL WELFARE MANAGER</strong></p>
<p class="wp-block-heading has-text-align-center">The Animal Welfare Manager is a senior management role contributing to the oversight and coordination of PPSC operations. Reporting directly to the Directorate of Yayasan Cikananga Konservasi Terpadu (YCKT), the role holder works in close collaboration with Animal Keepers, Veterinarians, the Volunteer and Enrichment Coordinators, and Senior Management Team personnel. The role supports long-term strategic planning of the wildlife rescue center and associated foundation activities. Key components include the continuous improvement of animal welfare standards, animal husbandry, facilities and staff development. This role additionally plays a central part in shaping rehabilitation and animal exit strategies, in close collaboration with the animal husbandry and in situ conservation teams, to support the design and implementation of conservation programs.</p>

<li>Support and guide staff through clearly established and effective work structures, defined task allocations, and efficient communication channels to promote teamwork and operational effectiveness.</li>
<li>Provide guidance, support, and supervision to staff under your management (Animal Keepers, the Enrichment Coordinator, and the Volunteer Coordinator). This includes conducting regular team meetings, maintaining clear communication, monitoring progress and challenges, setting upcoming priorities, carrying out staff evaluations and performance reviews, and supporting and arranging staff development opportunities.</li>
<li>Support, mentor, and train new employees as required, and assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new staff members. Participate in staff performance management processes, including disciplinary actions and termination procedures, when necessary, in coordination with and subject to approval from the Directorate.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Captive Husbandry:</strong></p>
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Oversee and contribute to all aspects of animal husbandry, including environmental, dietary, and enrichment programs, animal introductions and movements, and accurate animal record keeping.</li>
<li>Conduct behavioural observations and animal welfare assessments to support best animal welfare practice, effective captive management, including monitoring health and behavioural conditions. Promptly report suspected illness or injury to the Veterinary team and collaborate with the relevant staff to develop and implement improvement plans for behavioural or welfare-related concerns.</li>
<li>Collaborate closely with the Veterinary team in all aspects of hand-rearing rescued juveniles and orphaned animals across various taxa when required. Provide support in the intensive care of sick or injured animals requiring continuous or round-the-clock monitoring and care.</li>
<li>Collaborate closely with the Conservation Manager, Animal Keeper team, and Veterinary team to improve, update, and develop rehabilitation protocols as required, and assist in conducting pre-release assessments to evaluate animal suitability prior to reintroduction into the wild.</li>
<li>Design, organize, and implement modifications to, and construction of, enclosures in collaboration with the Senior Management Team and Directorate.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Administrative:</strong></p>
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Collaborate with external organizations to develop appropriate exit strategies for animals.</li>
<li>Advise and communicate with the YCKT Directorate on the most appropriate exit strategies<br />
for PPSC animals, following the Animal Exit Strategy Scoring System, while ensuring all<br />
actions comply with national legislation, CITES guidelines, IUCN recommendations, and<br />
international animal welfare standards.</li>
<li>Develop, recommend, implement, and regularly update protocols, standards, and guidelines<br />
related to animal husbandry, welfare, rehabilitation, and biosecurity to ensure continuous<br />
improvement and compliance with international standards.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date animal records and databases, including but not limited to<br />
Data Satwa, Biodata records, animal exit strategy documents, and ZIMS.</li>
<li>Assist in the production of reports for relevant government departments, YCKT Core Partners,<br />
and other supporters.</li>
<li>Assist in the production of budgets, proposals, and manage the allocated budget for PPSC.</li>
<li>Work closely with the Directorate and Senior Management Team on strategising,<br />
overcoming challenges and identifying opportunities related to the wider foundation (YCKT).</li>
<li>Assist the Education team in organizing and implementing elements of the education and eco-tourism program, including on-site planning and supervision.</li>
<li>Assist in the development and production of social media and press content as required to support organizational communication and public awareness initiatives.</li>
<li>Support the implementation and enforcement of center regulations, as well as health, safety, and security measures, to ensure a safe and compliant working environment for staff,<br />
volunteers, visitors, and animals.</li>
<li>When required, attend meetings, conferences and summits to raise the profile of PPSC and represent YCKT.</li>

<li>Check payment requests against authorisation, completeness, accuracy, coding, origin and compliance with guidelines from the BBC, donors, governments and other relevant authorities.</li>

<li>Maintain up-to-date accounting records that are relevant, reliable, objective and understandable.</li>

<li>Ensure a backup and retention procedure is in place and followed for all accounting records/data/document.</li>
<li>Ensure that differences or discrepancies are brought to the attention of the Head of Finance and Administration and follow up, ensuring appropriate action is taken.</li>
<li>Prepare financial reports, documents, registers and other data to respond to auditors&#8217; queries</li>
<li>Check spending against effective use of resources that mainly apply best value for money principles.</li>
<li>Ensure that expenses and staff advances are settled in a timely manner.</li>

<p class="yiv8858519211ydpac07393eMsoNormal"><span style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: medium;">As part of a global initiative, Jalin Foundation manages The Challenge Initiative (TCI) as TCI hub for Indonesia.  TCI is a demand-driven, systems-strengthening program that promotes local ownership and sustainability in Family Planning and Reproductive Health (FP/RH). The program positions city governments as the primary drivers of change and provides targeted technical assistance and capacity strengthening to improve governance, program management, and FP/RH service delivery.  TCI supports cities to better use existing financial, institutional, and human resources.</span></p>
<p class="yiv8858519211ydpac07393eMsoNormal"><span style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: medium;">Jalin Foundation, under the leadership of the Ministry of Population and Family Development (Kemendukbangga/BKKBN), serves as the national TCI hub in close collaboration with city governments and key stakeholders.  In Year 1, TCI focuses on building strong program foundations by developing evidence− and data-driven strategies and implementation plans that strengthen city readiness.  This process begins with national-level policy alignment and introduction of the TCI model in coordination with BKKBN, followed by a data-informed approach to engaging cities with the greatest need to improve FP/RH outcomes.</span></p>
<p class="yiv8858519211ydpac07393eMsoNormal"><span style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: medium;">Jalin Foundation is seeking <b>2 (two) City Manager Assistants </b>(CMA) –one CMA for Surabaya/East Java, and the other one for Depok/West Java– to support City Manager (CM) on the implementation of high-impact family planning (FP) and reproductive health interventions at the city level, aligned with <b>The Challenge Initiative (TCI)</b> model.  The CSM will manage the implementation of technical assistance and advocacy to local governments to strengthen service delivery, enhance demand generation, and institutionalize sustainable, locally owned FP programs.</span></p>
<p class="yiv8858519211ydpac07393eMsoNormal"><span style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: medium;"><b>POSITION OVERVIEW:</b></span></p>
<p class="yiv8858519211ydpac07393eMsoNormal"><span style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: medium;">The City Manager Assistant will support city-level data compilation and tracking of family planning performance indicators under The Challenge Initiative (TCI) model. The role will assist the City Manager in preparing monthly performance reports, maintaining data quality, and ensuring the timely submission of city-level data and supporting documentation; and is responsible for supporting the City Manager in day-to-day city-level coordination, data management, MEL support, administration, and documentation.</span></p>

<li><span style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: medium;">Track, clean, compile, and aggregate monthly city-level FP performance indicators, including method mix, new and active users, Postpartum Family Planning (PPFP), and other relevant FP indicators. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: medium;">Support the preparation and submission of monthly city-level FP data for reporting to the TCI global dashboard. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: medium;">Administer and complete the TCI Quality Implementation Checklists for HIIs/HIPs at facility and community levels to assess implementation quality and fidelity to evidence-based approaches.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: medium;">Support Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) activities by facilitating timely data collection and reporting with city stakeholders, promoting the use of routine data for decision-making, and working with the MEL Lead to ensure data quality and completeness.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: medium;">Assist with the administration, operational, and procedural requirements at the city level.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: medium;">Assist CM in documenting activities at the city level, for instance, in notetaking and documentation.</span></li>
</ul>
<p><b style="font-family: 'times new roman', 'new york', times, serif; font-size: medium;">Qualifications:</b></p>

<li><span style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: medium;">Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, statistics, Health Policy, Development Studies, or related field.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: medium;">Minimum 5 years of experience working on public health programs with international donors, including collaboration with government counterparts and multiple stakeholders.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: medium;">Proven experience working with local governments and health development projects.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: medium;">Familiarity with data systems, M&amp;E, and performance monitoring.</span></li>
