With the 2013 comes the third edition of the Kernel Festival!
The new call is now open to artists over 21, from all around the world, who will participate in the Kernel kermesse, dedicated to contemporary art expressions linked to new technologies.
And that’s not all!
This year, indeed, the call is open not just to art projects, performances and installations, but also to ideas of workshops, conferences, meetings that aim to deepen the debate on the relationship between art and technology.

Thanks to the call without deadline, participants will have the opportunity to be selected for other events and occasions organized by Kernel platform, throughout the year!

The workshop is addressed to those who want to learn the basis of 3D mapping.
During the intensive workshop you’ll deal in a practical way with all steps of concept, pre-production and realization of a video mapping performance. The intent is to produce a series of short-films to be tested on the scenery that will be set up for the occasion. A basic knowledge of what follows is required: digital image, vector graphics, video editing, 3D environment.

Mapping: analysis of the subject and mapping techniques
Technical design: framing, projector, lens and resolution
Pre-production: basic file preparation, pipeline, 2D and 3D softwares
Final production: construction, rendering and video exporting
Staging: warping techniques and performance

Participants are asked to bring their own laptop with the following software installed, even in the demo version: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Cinema 4D or other 3D software.
