I've been making hair clips and hair bands for the girls. When you have 2 ultra vain girls, you'll either stop buying or start making. I chose the latter.

Hair clips sold in this part of the world are nothing but boring. You'll get to see mirror sights in the hair clips on every little girls hair and that is something my vain girls did not like. They like something different, something unique and this , ahem, (self praising time) loving mummy decided that she'll learn how to make hair clips for her prettyful (a word coined by Phoebe, according to her, she's pretty and beautiful, hence prettyful) girls.

After missing in action for more than 2.5 years, I'm back... The past couple of years had been neutral,not good nor bad.

For the past 2.5 years, there are some major changes in our life:

I have another baby boy

I'm venturing another type of business (again)

Hubs still working with his dad (another business)

I'l try to update this blog more often now as my memory is failing me now I could barely remember what I did last week.

First they raised the rice’s price to almost 50%, then they hike up 40% of the petrol price. I wonder what’s next. The only thing stayed stagnant is the salary. Who could have survived this without other means of money making opportunities.

Vacation No More

I thought that we could go somewhere for a short family vacation when they finally announced that the shop’s closing for refurbishing. How wrong was I.

Although KW’s in a long holiday, but he’s just appointed as the family’s new official driver and project manager. He’s still very much needed by them, fetching his grandma to & fro the hospital for her acupuncture treatment every 2 days and supervising the progress of the shop’s refurbishing. My hopes for the holidays are partly shattered.

Partly because we did went to the PETRONAS Twin Tower’s Skybridge with the in-laws. It was quite fun though it was an impromptu outing, as the girls get to bond with their gramps. The girls only get to meet their gramps if only I bring them out to the shop before church previously.

Partly because I insist on celebrating Chloe and my FIL’s birthday together as it’s only 5 days apart. We finally had our 1st family dinner at Qing Zhen Chinese Muslim Restaurant, Novotel Hotel. The meal was okay but it’s the time spent with the family that matters. In my 4 years of marriage to KW, never once we get to eat with the in-laws as a family. It’s not because we are apart, it’s simply because everyone is too tied down with the business. I hope to bring in a new tradition to their family, which is having a family dinner on every special occasion.

Partly also because I did insist on celebrating Mother’s Day with my mom this year. I did get to be pampered like a princess for 7 days when I’m back home. The girls are well taken off by KW and my mom. I get to spend some ME time with my long time friend, ALONE, without the girls tagging along. Those 7 days was passing too fast.

Well, with the current petrol price hike, I guess we would not be going anywhere by car. Since Air Asia & MAS are having this ‘my airfare is cheaper than yours’ fight, I guess I’m still able to make another trip back home by plane before KW starts working again. The girls should be very happy with the plane ride.

Travelling Locally or Overseas?

Most people will refrain from travelling locally by car because of the exorbitant petrol price. A trip back to my parent’s house would definitely cost 40% more than previous which I have yet to include the expenses for toll, food etc.

Who would want to pay so much for petrol where you can actually take the opportunity of travelling overseas with the current MAS and Air Asia’s low fare promotion?

For those who are considering of going to London, this might be a good timing. However, do remember to check out few things on London like London blog, London webzine, and London news before departing to get some glimpse on the place.

Luggage

The last time we went back to my parents’ house for a short holiday few months back, I had some real serious problems in packing our luggage. I never knew what I should pack for the 7 days vacation. Both KW & I can always pack with few t-shirts and a short but I am really clueless on how I can pack light on the kids’ luggage. There are diapers, milk powders, books, toys, sweaters, and lots more.

I ended up with this pile of bags and baskets for our 7 days trip. Luckily we are driving as I cant imagine the stress of lugging all the stuffs into the airport or bus terminal.

I think it’s time to get some proper luggage bags for us instead of using the backpacks. Disney luggage should be great for the girls as they are crazy on Mickey & Minnie Mouse.

Officially a WAHM

I’m officially a WAHM on the 18th last month. Life’s been busier than ever. Never had I prepared myself for all the work that came bundled with my new fashion e-shoppe. Did I ever mention that I ventured out into an online store now?

Well, I did with plenty of help from my beloved (must bodek a bit in case he reads this). He’s such a darling ever since I started out the e-shoppe. He volunteered to look after the girls in the afternoons when I need to work or nap, we eat out more, as I don’t have the time to cook, and he cleans the house. However, I still need to attend to the girls demand exp Phoebe as I’m still breastfeeding her.

The first 2 weeks was a very trying period for me, as I needed SOMEONE to tell me that I’m making the right decision on starting this e-shoppe. I desperately need SALES. I know I know, the biz is only there for 2 weeks & I wanted sales. It sounded ridiculous right, NO. I prayed & asked for directions from HIM and if HE thinks that we should continue on this, please show me. I desperately needed some physical evidence apart from encouraging words from friends.

The next morning I woke up with 3 orders from 3 heaven sent angels and I happily sold 5 pieces of clothes from my e-shoppe. Thank GOD for answering prayers, MY prayers.

Being a WAHM is no fun to me. I can’t concentrate on my work with the girls running around, one asking for milk, the other asking for food. The only time I can really do my work is midnight, but my mind is just too tired for me to think straight. I guess I need more time away from the girls to concentrate on the e-shoppe first.

Must remember to talk to KW about this.

Salute To All WAHM

When I decided to become a SAHM after Chloe’s arrival, I was telling, well more to convincing myself, how difficult would it be taking care of a lil baby. I bought lots of cooking and crafts magazines naively thinking that I would have lots and lots of spare time for my passion in cooking & craft.

Well, I found out the truth the hard way. No one told me that having a baby would turn my world upside down. Well, it was slightly better with Chloe as she’s a very ‘good’ baby, but it was another story with Phoebe. Gosh, my world really tuned havoc with her. She’s breastfed exclusively, fussy, demanding and cranky and sticky. Which baby doesn’t, right?

Well, I’m returning to the working world soon but I’m opt to work from home this time. It’s never easy as I’m already facing some difficulties now. It’s never easy juggling between the girl’s never-ending demands and work. I can never concentrate on my work with the girls around. To make thing s worse, I’m maidless, meaning that I still need to attend to the never-ending chores and cooking.

I sure hope things would be better next month as the shop’s finally closing for refurbishing and KW’s gonna be at home for the next 6 months before deciding whether he wants to continue working for FIL or start his own business or perhaps helping me out with mine. Therefore, in the mean time, I’m still struggling to come out with a better working timetable.

To all WAHM out there, I really salute you. Care to share how you juggle between work & family? :)

Home Business

Everyone who knows us has been asking the same question each time they met us recently. No, no, no. It’s not what you are thinking, I’m NOT PREGNANT. It’s just that they knew the shop’s going to be refurbished soon (been saying this for the past 14 months, dunno what‘s keeping them so long) and KW’s gonna be out of job for at least a year. They are just concerned on our plans for the future.

Rest assured family and friends as we already have some plans laid out of for the future. We are planning to start some small business from home and we are already on the initial stage. It’s still too early to announce as we still need to wait for the shop be closed before we could do anything to our plan.

We are starting our business from home as we want to start it slow and not committing ourselves to rental, salaries, and what so and what forth. However, it’s never easy to work from home as there are plenty of distractions especially from the girls.

Therefore, we are converting our guest room into our office for the time being. I’m still searching for affordable office furniture like comfortable office chairs and office storage to make the room as formal as could be, in hoping that we could concentrate more on our work when we are in the small office. However, sad to say, comfortable and affordable doesn’t comes in a package. How I wish that we could afford the ever sturdy and comfortable chairs like those Tabisha and Tirol, which comes with an 8-year guarantee.

I’m sorry. I know I owe everyone who visits this blog a BIG apology for being MIA for the longest time. I’m SORRY…

As most of you know, the connection is bad, and this time round to make things worse, besides the bad connection, I have some problems with my lappie’s cable from the modem to the laptop. Such a lame an excuse on not updating the blog, I know I know. *slaps head*

I’ve been and still going to be busy on some stuff:
1. Trying to home school the girls.
2. Maintaining a clean and neat home
3. Cooking
4. Chores
5. Helping out in the shop
6. Coming out with a schedule that works for everyone
7. Some ‘serious’ stuffs that zaps most of my time and attention

It's TimeTo Get Blinds

The weather in KL is getting more unbearable for us these few weeks. First it rained non stop to the extend that I need to dry my laundry under the fan and nearing Chinese New Year, it’s hot hot hot till now.

I told KW that it’s time for us to get a proper blind for our windows instead of using the car shade. It’s time for us to go shop for proper and nicer blinds for our windows, online and offline.

While browsing online, I found few items that I love at Shadesshuttersblinds.com. Roller Shades Sheer Shades, Roman Shades, Vinyl Shutters are only few of the extensive collection of window coverings that are available here. Besides that, they do provide the how-to measure and install guide besides free samples and a limited lifetime warranty.

I personally like the Wood Blinds as it compliments with our current furniture and home interior. As much as I like the blinds here, I doubt KW would agree on ordering it from Shadesshuttersblinds.com. However, I do wonder if they would ship their free samples here.

I Felt Offended...

There’s this ‘someone’ who left comment on my blog requesting a link exchange few weeks ago by stating that she‘d linked my blog as we have few things in common. Well, being nice, I return her favour by linking her in my blog.

I’m truly offended by this ’someone’ today when I read her comment on one of my recent post. In her comment, she wrote 2 paragraphs full of what she did during CNY, which is fine to me. What’s not fine to me is she’s putting links in between her comment like what we did when writing PP.

I’ve deleted her comment straightaway because I felt betrayed by her spamming. ‘Friends’ don’t spam each other’s blog. If you have nothing better to comment, then just let it be. It’s much better than spamming my comment box with your links.

Chinese New Year Recap

Chinese New Year is ending in 2 days time. How time flies. Let’s recap what happened for the past 13 days.

Eve of CNY:
Had reunion dinner with KW’s extended family in restaurant. Food and service’s extremely bad. Talk about fast food, all 9 dishes and dessert was plunked onto our table in less than 30 minutes. It’s as if they are rushing us to finish our dinner so they could serve more customers.
Watched our 1st lion dance in the restaurant on our way back to in-laws house. We spent about and hour in PIL’s house before heading back to our crib at about 2330.

1st Day of CNY:
Went back to PIL’s house at 1000 for brunch with KW’s paternal granny and extended family at 1130. KW’s aunt came out with a ‘Traditional Dress’ theme this year where everyone MUST wear Chinese Traditional costume. Chloe got frightened by KW’s uncle’s dog, ’Buddy’ as that so called friendly dog chased and barked at her the moment he saw my beautiful girl in bright red cheongsam.

I never understand why they would let the dog out running and barking around the house when they knew there would be lots of children coming. Yes, I’m paranoid about my girls having dog fleas or hair all over her and worse being bitten by the ’friendly’ dog. I ended up asking KW’s aunt to put the dog back to his cage, as Chloe was so frightened that she refused to step into the house.

We are ‘forced’ to spend the whole day in our not so comfortable costume there till after dinner. Some very well meant cousins of KW took Chloe to play and stuffed her with junks leaving me fumed, as Chloe is a G6PD child meaning she’s not supposed to take anything with cashew nut and fava beans. I’ve clearly and firmly told them not to give Chloe any food without consulting KW or me. They left me no choice but to keep Chloe very close to KW & me.

2nd Day of CNY:
Went back to PIL’s house at noon for lunch and headed back to KW’s maternal granny’s house for early dinner at 1600. Spent almost the whole day there. Less stressful than the 1st day as the crowd and environment are different.

3rd Day of CNY:
KW started to work, leaving me alone with 2 cranky and sick girls. Chloe had slight diarrhoea from all the junks she took and had flu from the extreme weather. Phoebe’s extremely cranky and clingy, as she did not have enough sleep from the previous 2 outings.

6th Day of CNY:
I’m having extremely bad case of flu and headache. Must have got the flu bug from Chloe and the headache from lack of sleep and the blazing weather.

8th Day of CNY (Valentine’s Day):
Saw a very interesting Lion dance at Hugo Boss’s outlet @ Gardens on the way to dinner. Spent about 20 minutes watching the dance as KW & Chloe’s very big fan of Lion Dance. Later, went for dinner at Zanmai @ Gardens and took the girls to Borders. We are supposed to have a family dinner with KW’s paternal side of family but we chose not to go.

9th Day of CNY:
Had another family dinner with KW’s maternal side of relatives.

11th Day of CNY:
FIL was admitted to Pantai Hospital for a suspected case of dengue.

12th Day of CNY:
It’s confirmed that FIL is having dengue fever and have to be warded for few days.

Not a very good start for the year as almost everyone in the family’s sick. Just pray that FIL will be discharged soon and the rest of the year would be a smooth sailing one for us.

I just got myself a new pair of glasses similar to this few weeks ago at about $128.00. Imagine how many pairs I could have bought here at ZenniOptical.com where they directly sell their products to the consumer without the help from middleman, hence the low price tag. No More Photos...

I have been very very busy removing all the photos, which contains KW’s beloved girls from this, and their blog. Just for the same old reason, to avoid hacker or whatever safety reasons that he’s giving me.

He’d pestered me to take them down for some time but I just kept delaying it, but he’s very stern today. Therefore, I spend about an hour in front of the laptop just to remove and edit the posts. Of course, I have our trusty Streamyx to thank for their forever ‘fast’ connection.

So from now on, no more photos on both blogs except those that doesn’t reveal the faces of his beloved…

Cooking Adventure, Here I Come

I’ve been busy and going to be very busy cleaning up the house and making sure that it stays neat and tidy for Phoebe’s coming 1st birthday and of course Chinese New Year.

I’ve been staying up quite late this few days searching for recipes as I intend to whip up some simple finger food for Phoebe’s party. I started out being very ambitious as I intend to bake her a cake but I dropped the idea later when I told KW. You see, I’m just a novice cook. I started cooking only about 2 years ago. Up to now, I can only cook extremely simple dishes and my signature dish is KW’s favourite stir-fry fish fillets with ginger and spring onion.

Gosh, I really need to brush up my cooking skills, but not now. Too late, NO TIME… I have few recipes in my mind now and I’m gonna get all the ingredients tomorrow and I shall whip it up these few days. We shall see if it’s edible and presentable enough to be served to our guests.

No Drive To Blog

I’ve been super duper busy with cleaning up the house which I should have done moons ago, spending more time playing with the girls and experimenting in my kitchen. All this energy absorbing activities left me tired and sleepy by the end of the day resulting I don’t even feel like logging on and blog.

I even left few PP’s went expired because I’m still in dilemma then but just say everything is solved now under mutual agreement with a twist. It’s not and never our style to argue, we like to ‘discuss’ in peace. That’s why the matter had dragged until now for a better solution.

Well, that’s an excuse I know. The main reason I don’t have the drive is because of the recent smack down of my PR from G. it’s nothing new actually, but because of it, there’s less PP’s to write and even if there are, they pay you peanuts for some 300 or 400 words.

Let’s all hope that year 2008 would bring us more PP offers and of course more $$$ to our pockets…

New Year, New Me, New Resolutions

I’ve spent the whole of yesterday doing nothing except pondering and reflecting on the events that happened on the past 364 days.

I almost lost my life while delivering Phoebe, the fact that KW had been working non-stop for the past 6 months, my post post-natal blues are some of the weepy stuffs that happened in the last 12 months.

Well, on the brighter side, I’ve successfully potty-trained Chloe and moved her into her own room, exclusively breastfeed Phoebe up to now, started two blogs and earned some USD’s and most importantly gained my sense of independent back.

I shall jot down my New Year resolutions here as a reminder to myself.
.Spend more time with KW and the girls
.Be more patient with KW and the girls
.Make sure the house is not MESSY
.Learn how to cook more dishes

I pray and hope that He will protect, provide and bless our lives and yours too in the ‘prosperous‘ year of 2008.

Should I Continue Or Stop Blogging?

It’s almost 4 months since I started blogging. Within this short journey, I’ve read a lot of amazing parenting stories out there, made a few friends, earn some extra income and of course learnt plenty from all the spectacular mummy bloggers.

I’m still learning on how to blog without revealing too much. I thought what I did was right as in updating on the girls development and daily snippets to my family and friends who do not have the opportunity to be with them daily.

However, it seems that KW has a mind of his own. He’s sceptical on how safe it is to reveal our life’s over the Internet when I first told him about blogging and he still is now. He’s worried on all those stalkers, psychos and not to mention pedophiles.

I’m still battling with myself now on should I respect his worries and give up blogging, forsake the extra income and my new found sense of independent, or should I just continue blogging without inserting our photos in the blog. However, without photos, it would defeat my original purpose on updating my family on the girls’ daily snippets.

Gosh, it’s indeed a tough decision to make. It’s like either I make myself happy resulting him to be worried all the time for our safety or I make him happy but I’ll lose my new found income and sense of independent. *sigh*

Time Not Enough

I’ve been blog hopping lesser and lesser now, not to mention leaving comments. I hardly can find some spare time where I can sit down with a good cup of coffee and enjoy my blog hopping.

Well, pardon me if you don’t see me visiting or leaving comments in your blog as KW gave me a stern reminder few days before Christmas; it’s either I start to organize the messy house or I stop blogging. Well, of course I need to keep him happy, so I made a deal with him. I’ll continue blogging but I’ll only do it at night [as if I wouldn’t touch the laptop when he’s working, :P]. The rest of the day will be used on organising the house and the demanding girls.

Well, so far, I managed to clean up the kitchen and gosh, I never knew I have so many containers. I threw most of it and I still have lots of it in the kitchen cabinet now. I desperately need to finish this major task before my deadline; Chinese New Year, which is approaching in about 1 months time.

Wish me luck buddies.

Are You Sick?

That’s what my friends have been asking me when I went for Christmas parties and outings with them for the last few days. I knew I’ve been shedding some fats but I didn’t expect them to notice it as KW did not mention anything about it.

Apart from feeling sleepy the whole day, easily tired and out of breath, I’m fine, I guess. I’m 100% sure; I’m not pregnant if some of you are starting to wonder. I’ve checked twice, so it wouldn’t be wrong, right?

Anyway, when I mentioned it to KW earlier this evening, he coolly replied that the lack of sleep because of blogging is causing me all the sleepiness and tiredness.

Duh, as if before I started blogging, I hit the sack at 9 pm daily. However, I admit that I’m getting lesser and lesser quality sleep time now as I’ve successfully moved Chloe back to her own room. On the other hand, I still have to endure her calling me to sleep with her few times a night. Yeah, that should be the culprit of my sudden drop of weight.
