Havoc Erupts Over Galaxy Foams at Florida Mall

News broke out on Twitter that Riot Police was being called in Orlando to control the 3000+ people who showed up for the release of Galaxy Foamposite. As crowds rushed towards Foot Locker, the scene turned ugly and tear gas was deployed to keep people civilized. According to some sneakerheads on twitter, warning shots were fired into the air and the mall was ordered to shut down for the safety of civilians.

We’ve seen Nike Sportswear release some intriguing designs in the classic Nike Dunk, and today we’re seeing yet another unique version of the shoe. This pair of Nike Dunk High is highlighted by its woven design, which covers most of the shoe, while another design makes its way onto the quarter panels and ankle area. Finishing off the look are ribbon-styled, mint-colored shoe laces, which match with the inner lining, and outsole. What are your thoughts on these?

Athletic Propulsion Labs Concept 2 – Black / Grey

Back in January we previewed the white / black colorway in the Athletic Propulsion Labs Concept 2, and today we’re seeing another colorway in the shoe. In case you forgot, the original APL flagship shoe was banned by the NBA because the league felt that it gave players an unfair advantage.

Here we seen an all black everything version of the shoe, which features a black synthetic carbon fiber build, along with contrasting branding on both the tongue and heel. Silver covers the midsole, while black is seen once again on the sole. You can pre-order the shoe now at Athletic Propulsion Labs, as they will be shipped by March 8th.

Supra Society – Surplus

One of Supra‘s ultra high-top silhouettes, the Supra Society, has seen some nice renditions so far this year. Today we’re taking a look at a recently released pair that has been dubbed “Surplus”.

This latest version of Terry Kennedy’s signature shoe sports a rugged olive green colorway and is constructed from ripstop canvas. Adding some depth to the look are touches of black on the tongue, vulcanized sole, and “TK” logo on the heel. You can scoop this pair up now at Supra Footwear accounts worldwide.

With so many options it’s hard to pick a favorite when it comes to the Nike Lebron 9. One colorway that we can always depend on seeing however is the Summit Lake Hornets and here is yet another look at it. The Nike Lebron 9 Summit Lake Hornets sports a proud purple upper with teal accents and hits of white all about it. There hasn’t been a release date announced for them yet but stay tuned for updates.

Check him out as he’s seen here rocking his black turtleneck and jeans. Oh and by the way, he is accompanied by San Francisco 49ers star Patrick Willis and even the late Bruce Lee.

Michael Jordan Sues Chinese Retailer Qiaodan Sports

Michael Jordan was recently in the headlines as he filed a lawsuit against a small company for using his image in their commercials, and now we’re seeing his name surface again as this time he has filed a lawsuit in China against Qiaodan (pronounced cheow-DEN) Sports, for what Jordan describes as an illegal use of his name in Qiaodan products and marketing materials.

From the Wall Street Journal:

Qiaodan Sports, based in the coastal province of Fujian, sells athlete-branded basketball shoes and jerseys in its 5,715 retail outlets in China and is preparing to raise 1.1 billion yuan ($175 million) in a public listing in Shanghai. The company posted profit of 341.5 million yuan on 1.7 billion yuan in revenue for last year’s first half.

Qiaodan Sports said it has the exclusive right to the Qiaodan trademark and is operating “in accordance with Chinese laws.” A Qiaodan Sports spokesman declined further comment Thursday.

“I feel the need to protect my name, my identity, and the Chinese consumers,” Mr. Jordan said in a video on a website devoted to his claims. “It’s about principle—protecting my identity and my name,” he said. Any damage award would be invested in promoting basketball in China, he said.

Air Jordan Retro 6 “Olympic” (New Images)

The Air Jordan 6 ‘Olympic’, as we told you last year, is slated to release again in 2012 to coincide with the upcoming Summer Olympics in London. We’ve just come across these new images of the shoe, which will definitely have Jordan Brand fanatics salivating.

White and midnight blue tones handle the leather upper, while touches of varsity red are seen on the lacelock, tongue, and heel Jumpman. Look for the shoe to drop at Jordan accounts on July 7th at select Jordan Brand accounts.

adidas Originals AR 2.0 “Chicago”

We must admit that patent leather makes a shoe look sexy if done correctly. That’s definitely the case here with this pair of adidas Originals AR 2.0, which is being dubbed “Chicago”.

For the most part, black suede covers the shoe, while matching black patent leather is seen at the shoe’s base, as well as on the ankle strap.

White is utilized in the form of the shoe laces and piping, while touches of red are also put to use. The kicks have release to adidas accounts including Footlocker alongside a matching track top and letterman jacket.

The Vans Alomar is a pretty smooth looking silhouette already but it ultimately cleans up very well as evidenced here. The shoe gets a stark white leather upper with a pin striped lining and tanned leather accents. While the inside is lively the outside is devoid of any other colors even on the laces or outsole.
