Tomorrow night our friends on the block Toy Art Gallery present Blamo’s 5th annual custom art show.  Over one hundred international artists have customized Blamo‘s Billy figure, which in it’s original form stands tall at seven inches and is hand carved from suar wood.

Blamo is an independent art toy company located in Los Angeles, California.  Blamo toys are handmade encorporating various types of material such as wood, brass, and leather.  Their characters range from the creepy to cuddly and often times a little bit of both.

Expect to see some amazing pieces from some Kidrobot heavy hitters, such as Chris Ryniak, Julie West, Frank Kozik and more!

The show starts at 7 pm on Saturday December 14th at Toy Art Gallery located at 7571 Melrose Ave, Hollywood CA 90046. Just a hop, skip and jump away from Kidrobot LA!

Kidrobot LA & BLU DOT team up for a custom MUNNY show featuring over 30 artists & designers.  Wanting to go beyond the “norm”, Kidrobot LA reached out to over 30 individuals ranging from illustrators, fashion designers, musicians, architects, graphic designers, among others; to bring their “Spring Forward” group show to life.  From fully conceptual, to classically illustrated, each MUNNY is a reflection of the artist’s own take on the forward thinking ideals of  “Spring”.  BLU DOT is a great partner due to their keen eye for design and beautifully crafted furniture; not to mention their awe-inspiring showroom, is the perfect setting for the opening reception and to showcase the diverse stylings of these unique designs.

Last Thursday, Kidrobot celebrated the end of the world with the release of the ultra-awesome Apocalypse Dunny Series. We invited Huck Gee to our SF store, Ron English and Mishka to New York and Joe Ledbetter to Los Angeles. JPK stopped by Kidrobot London, Jermaine Rogers made the mission to Boulder from Houston, and Sam Fout held it down in Miami. We served Twinkies, the only food sure to survive a meltdown. What are your favorite designs from the series?

Our good friends over at Jai & Jai finished up their Stubbs & Lulu figures a little while back. We were lucky enough to choose two of our favorites to put on display. Each color is made in extremely limited quantities and was produced by Julie B. and her crew at Pretty in Plastic right in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles.

Each vibrantly glossy figure stands 4.5″  tall and comes paired with an intricately designed bamboo box.
