I’ve got an elephant to hug me every night. Owning an elephant is terrific, but what happens when he gets lonely and invites over a friend? I’ve got two elephants who come with me to school. The kids on the bus all think we’re really cool. One can always find a way to work with two elephants, but what happens when they get lonely?
As the elephant population climbs, things get more and more complicated until finally our intrepid heroine may have been pushed too far. How many elephants is too many? What do you do when you’ve got more elephants than you can handle?
Don’t worry! Author Anne Ginkel and artist Janie Bynum have expertly managed to corral these unruly pachyderms into an entertaining and hilarious counting tale.

KooKoo Bear Kids partnered with Elite Model Management and James Adam Hill Photography to conduct a citywide model search in March. More than 300 children participated in a photo session as part of the contest. The contestant’s photos were posted on KooKoo Bear Kids’ Web site where visitors cast votes for their favorite model in two categories, “tots” (under two-years-old) and ages 2 to 12.
Over 10,000 votes were cast during a 6-week period, and Elite Atlanta selected the overall winner from each category. KooKoo Bear Kids announced the results during a red carpet event at its new location in Roswell’s Sweet Apple Village. Each winner received a $500 shopping spree at KooKoo Bear Kids, an exclusive contract with Elite Model Management and five free photo sessions at James Adam Hill Photography.
“We were overwhelmed by how many families showed up to participate in the model search,” said Joe Mediate, KooKoo Bear Kids co-founder and owner. “Featuring hometown children in our national catalog is a great way to thank the community for helping to make us a local success story.”
KooKoo Bear Kids opened in 2003 and has grown into one of the nation’s most successful online retailers for children’s room décor, accessories and clothing. “Our relocation to Sweet Apple Village has more than tripled our retail space,” said Mediate. “We’ll be hosting events throughout the summer and fall to make the most of the complex’s family-friendly setting.”

We’d like to thank all the contestants for the unbelievable response we received from doing our first Model Search with Elite Modeling and James Adam Hill Photography. To say we were overwhelmed would be an understatement.

Be The Next KooKoo Bear Kid
Be a part of this fun filled event at KooKoo Bear Kids as we search for The Next KooKoo Bear Kid. The Model search will be held on March 19-23, and April 3-4 2009 in our Retail Store located at 23 Oak Street Roswell, GA 30075. The contestant’s will be separated into two groups, tots (under 2) and kids (ages 2-12). After the photo sessions are complete, the contestant’s pictures will be posted online for voting. Voting is open to anyone, but you can only vote once.
Elite Model Management will judge the final 12 contestants (6 in each category) and 2 winners will be selected, one tot age 2 and under and one child age 2-12.
Winners will be announced at the New KooKoo Bear Kids Store located in Sweet Apple Village, 12060 Etris Road Roswell, GA 30076, (Date to be Determined). Winners in each category will receive a $500.00 shopping spree at KooKoo Bear Kids, 5 free photo sessions at James Adam Hill Photography (a $1,000.00 value) and an Exclusive contract with Elite Model Management.
