Here is part 2 of our 3-part review of our awesome trip to Southern Indiana.

In part 2, you’ll see that we went to Santa’s Lodge, Santa’s Candy Castle, the Santa Claus Museum, and Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari.

First, we ate at Santa’s Lodge. Inside Santa’s Lodge was all Christmas stuff and it was so cool! And we ate breakfast and the food was good! I ate bacon, some potato stuff, more bacon, fruit loops, and scrambled eggs! And the rest of the food was french toast sticks, pancakes, sausage patties, other kinds of cereal. I think that’s all!

Then we went to Santa’s Candy Castle and there were 31 different flavors of candy canes and lots of other homemade candies! I tried a raspberry lemon candy cane! It was a little bit sour, but it didn’t make me pucker. It was good. I would also like to try the watermelon flavor and I think there is a flavor called lemon lime, and apple, and bubble gum-filled bubble gum flavor. Liberty and Noah are going to tell you the rest of the trip! Lena

After the candy castle, we went to the Santa Claus Museum. It was really excellent looking at all the old Santa Claus stuff! And the dancing Santa was kind of cool, too! Some things in the museum looked kind of creepy, but it was a neat museum and I liked looking at all the stuff there! They even had old letters to Santa and it showed a difference in what kids asked for back in the old days. It was really fun at the Santa Claus Museum!

After the museum, we went to Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari. It was super fun there. Noah will tell you about the big rides because he rode the big rides. Lena and I don’t really like big rides. But there was a bunch of fun stuff there for us to do. First of all, I should tell you that there was free sunblock and FREE pop all over the park! People at the park can get pop, lemonade, or water whenever they want. For FREE! All day long! And there was never a line to get a drink.

First, we went to Splashin’ Safari and we went to the Congo River and The Wave pool! It was just like a regular pool, except with waves! It was really awesome! Then, we went to Kima Bay and Lena and I didn’t play on it because we were too cold. After that, Lena went on Watubee (she said it was fun, but a little scary because she was on the side that goes whoosh up the side of the tube), but I went to the Holiday World part. First went on the HalloSwings! They were really, really fun. We sat on the swings, then all the swings lifted up, and it made us fly around a bunch! It was really sweet! Then, we went to the ScareCrow Scrambler. We sat in seats and then it spun us all around! Then, we went to The 4th of July part of the park and we went on old fashioned cars that we drove around. I think it was called the Lewis & Clark Trail. It was kind of hard to press on the gas pedal. Then we went to ThanksGiving! We were going to go on the Gobbler Getaway but I read the sign and it said that it would have some pitch black moments with some lightning! So it sounded scary and we didn’t go on it. But then, I looked in the window of it, and it had electronic people! I don’t like electronic people. So I’m glad we didn’t go on it! Then we watched people go down the Pilgrims Plunge!! I would never ever go on it! It looks so scary! But I think Noah will tell you about it! Liberty

Okay, my review of holiday world is a 8/10 because some of the rides were fun and some were boring. The Raven was the first roller coaster I went on and it was the second best one because 1, it was fast and 2, it was rickety and could loosen a few molars and jar some brains. The next coaster I went on was The Legend. It was the third best and really wasn’t that fast or wild. It was pretty long so that was good. Then next was The Voyage. This was the best coaster I went on because it was long, very, very, very, very, very, very, very tall and very fast but one thing you don’t want to do is sit in the same row with someone who drank 5 Mountain Dews before he got on…..And the last one we went on was Pilgrims Plunge. It was the worst one, yet okay. So number one DO NOT go on this thing if you are afraid of heights because it goes up very, very, very high on an elevator with no sides basically, (but the thing tips a little as you’re going up and this one lady screamed). So we waited in line for like 45 minutes and then it turned out to be about a 20 second ride, which was a waste of time. And don’t sit in the front row if you’re hoping to get soaked. Sit in the BACK row, which I know makes no sense but people got the wettest back there, so yeah. In all, I give the coasters a 9/10 and the water slides a 7/10 but the WHOOOOOOLLLLEEE park I give a 1000000/10 if you want a fun family-friendly place to spend a weekend, I would recommend Holiday World highly! Noah

We visited Southern Indiana for 3 days! We visited a bunch of places, but this post is all about our first day, which was in Lincoln City. We did a bunch of Abe Lincoln stuff! There was a play, “LINCOLN,” and it was awesome!! When they showed parts of the Civil War in the play it would go BOOM and people would scream and there was one random thing that one girl in the play said: “Oh dear Alex! I need you desperately right now!!” It was so random!

Lena

Before the play, we visited Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial and Living Historical Farm. I liked the living farm because it showed the old-fashioned stuff that Lincoln probably grew up with. After that, we went to Lake Rudolph Campground and RV Resort in Santa Claus, Indiana. It was awesome! You can rent an RV instead of just bringing a tent! There’s a pool and a beach and a playground and Coke machines all over.

Then we went back to Lincoln City to see the Lincoln Bicentennial Plaza and to see the play and eat a yummy Amish dinner. I liked the rolls and the chicken. The play was really cool and I liked it. We’ll tell about the rest of our trip (Holiday World, Surfin’ Safari, Leavenworth Inn, and Marengo Caves) soon! Liberty

We put them on bright and early for a big day including play group and lunch with friends. So right off the bat Dimitri dumped the entire Cat’s water dish on his shoes, amazingly the water did not hamper them much, they wiped right off, saving me much time in my morning. The moment I walked into the room at play group several mothers were exclaiming about the cuteness of his shoes. They are very brightly colored and Dimitri tends to think of them as toys rather than clothing. Everyone seemed impressed with how sturdy they were yet they are still flexible enough for a Toddler to feel the floor. It was agreed that the universal downfall is the fact they do not come in larger sizes. Dimitri is wearing the largest size, a five. Many mothers that I talked to wanted their children in flexible sole footwear through their fifth birthday. Overall I am pleased with the shoes, a good crossover between infant and big kid shoes.

Great movie! Maybe a bit violent for kids (it’s rated R), but it would be easy enough to skip over the parts you don’t want your kids to see in order for them to be able to see the many funny, inspiring, and beautiful parts of this movie.

As the mother of a almost 17 month old boy, whose current obsession is poking things with sticks, I am always focused on the position and safety of all outlets in a room. In our house we have an old electrical system with horrible electrical outlets that we are slowly replacing. In the past we have used the traditional plug covers that are very difficult to remove even for an adult. The Socket-Lockits™ that I received were easy to install in every outlet I tried.

There is a warning on the packaging that warns of there lowered efficacy in old or damaged outlets, and that is sadly true. They work very well on a new outlet, safe, with no finger nail breaking. On old outlets, the Socket-Lockits™ either pop right out or get stuck. I do think they could be a good solution when we upgrade the house. They are available in a wide variety of colors and patterns, the ones we received happened to match the living room paint very well. My concern is that making them so bright will make them attractive to children. They are not so difficult to remove that a curious child could not figure it out if unsupervised. I looked on the website and did not see any clear or boring options. Overall a good mid ground in outlet safety in a newer home and with a transparent option.
And my whole family thought it was funny. There’s a funny guinea pig in it named Bugsy, too.

If you’re into funny comedy family movies, you’ll like this movie. It came out on Blu-Ray April 5th and will come out on DVD April 7th (close to my birthday. And Easter). Or, for a little while, you can get the combo pack with a regular DVD and a Blu-Ray DVD AND a digital file copy for your laptop.
