Apple picking, A sure sign of fall

Apple picking came early this year. We all had a great day even if we got a bit lost on the drive up to Turner.

A view like that and an apple sling shot. Demolishing apples against the plywood targets is strangely exiting. Life is good.

Fresh concord grapes, when you taste these you realize where the grape lollypop flavor came from. I think we will be making lots of jelly.

Made-Rite Screen Fun

I spent a good deal of last weekend scrubbing and reclaiming screens. I bought a bunch of printing equipment over the summer. Who knew The last fella I bought stuff from was a bit of a slob. After much work a dozen or so are ready to go while the remaining 1/2 dozen will need new mesh stretched on them. I think I will wait on that until I really have a direct need for them. Also I have been looking at plans to build my own press. I will let you know how that develops over this winter.

So it's been an incredible summer! Weather, tattooing and the family fun have all been great. Now I am looking to slow down the pace and get back to my paintings and other projects. Plus all the neat fall festivals are right around the corner.

With the change of seasons also comes a change in staff here at the shop. Walter our resident sociology student here to study traditional tattooing will be returning to classes this week. With him he takes our hopes for a successful future and many thanks for a job well done.
Sam, my summer PA (1st job my ass) you are by far my favorite and most competent assistant thus far. Many Thanks to you I hope we can continue to work together in the future.
Gemma's apprenticeship also will now be making many changes as she has developed so much in the last months and will soon be booking tattoos for her own book. Great job Gemma don't let up the pace.

I'd like to also thank all my friends and clients that made this such an amazingly summer. I hope to see you all soon.

Made-Rite 1st photo shoot!

I was just working on a new shop website and thought I should share this photo. We did our first clothing photo shoot the other day. We started by calling a few close friend that wouldn't mind walking (and posing) in the rain. Then we added our photographer Randy and before anyone caught a cold or lost there cool we had a collection of great photos. Thank you everyone that helped on this one and I had a blast! I will be processing picts and the new website should be up and running in a week or 2. I will post as soon as it goes live.

John is an inspiring artist that has been tattooing since 1993. Before opening his own studio in 2006 he worked and studied in more than eight other studios, including Marcus Kuhn's internationally recognized Just Good Tattoos.
John's focus is on image design, composition, and the technical proficiency of each tattoo application. Over the past 10 years he has specialized in fusions of traditional Asian, and Americana designs. Images he favors working with include, but are not limited to, Hindu, Tibetan Buddhist, and Chinese / Japanese mythological imagery. John strives to integrate realistic colors and aspects from nature, while tastefully blending styles.
