Charlene Lu, a friend of mine, has gone a long way, since the moment I met her when she first tried mineral makeup, then went on pursuing makeup artistry ( and being good at it ), selling mineral makeup and brushes, and now, launching her own skin care line! Now that summer’s almost over, some of us would want to go back to our fair selves. Or also, some of us would want to even our skin tones and scream “flawless.” Glutathione has been all the rage because aside from its big boost of antioxidants that is beneficial to the body, it also makes the skin lighter, and more even, as a “side effect.” ( some just love that “side effect!” ). Most glutathione that I’ve seen is in the capsule form, and it’s the first time that I’ve encountered a skin care line devoted for it.

Say hello to Gluta White & Firm. This skin care line uses glutathione in its premiere strength combined with L-Carnitine ( a compound that helps burn fat ), Lipofirm, and Clair Blanche ( a unique fusion of 7 active ingredients known to inhibit melanin formation ) to obtain maximum benefits to the skin such as whitening, and giving the skin a supple, healthy young glow. The line promises to whiten as early as two weeks.

Products in this line include facial wash, facial cream, pressed powder, deodorant and anti-perspirant, white and firm soap, and white and firm body lotion. I’ve been seeing them in department stores, and it got me thinking – am I ready to be fair again? Because I have loved my tanned skin so much already.

Lately, I have been trying their deodorant and anti-perspirant, and so far, so good. I think it’s a safe product that anyone can use because it makes me feel clean and fresh all day, and of course, our armpits are one of our areas of concern that we’d want it , as much as possible, not dark!

Yesterday, the opening ceremony of the much-awaited Philippine Fashion Week was held at the SMX 3 Theatre at the Mall of Asia. Of course, your favorite beauty bloggers and fashion bloggers are most present there!

Fashion, together with makeup are expressions of creativity. Looking at the models strut the runway further relaxes the eyes, as one indulges in enjoyment looking at pieces of creativity all brought to reality from the once vivid imagination.

Last April 30, Kikay Kits was very much present in the Blue Water Day Spa event wherein they launched their new endorsers, Marian Rivera and Piolo Pascual. Yeah, not that star-studded. ( hahaha! ). They also launched their new Sahara Oasis Massage and Chocolate Slimming Massage. Twas a very interesting event as the two new treatments were demo-ed in front of the press.

Since bloggers are curious creatures, we were actually in front, in front of everyone! We managed to talk to the svelte beauty Bianca Valerio, the host of the event, for some kikay chat!

Turns out aside from hosting and modelling , Bianca is a makeup artist, holds talks on schools about saying no to drugs. Of course, as she was talking, my eyes were actually distracted – they were looking at her eyes- which were lined to perfection! So suddenly, I just blurted, “Bianca, I love the way you lined your eyes. What brand of eyeliner do you use?”. Instead of getting bored with my question, I was actually surprised of the enthusiasm on how she animatedly talked to me and Phoebe about makeup, “For pencil, I love Elizabeth Arden! Unlike other pencil eyeliners this one glides like butter! ” For liquid eyeliners, you must guess what she loves!

It’s Fashion 21 ! She loves Fashion21 liquid eyeliners because they’re incredibly waterproof and very good! Well, maybe I should get some of the shades since theyre about roughly more than a hundred bucks for a piece. If it can cooperate with my very oily lids, then I will be really, really pleased!

Reminiscing my trip to the south weeks ago, one of the most memorable stopovers sure was the Ilog Maria Bee Farm. Being the kikay girl that I am, that place was just paradise for me – being in a roomful of organic health and beauty products just made my day. That day, I bought Ilog Maria soaps in mini sizes to try them to decide which big sizes I will be purchasing via their website as soon as I finish them all.

I’m already on my second bar of their Lavender Honey Soap which, in my opinion, is the best bedtime shower soap, ever. But then, it’s not always night time, is it? We also have mornings that we must pull ourselves our of bed, and indulge ourselves in a morning shower that is energizing, refreshing, and delightful!

When the word “spearmint” comes to mind, I am always reminded of “minty” and cool. I’m quite mad about minty stuff that I search for beauty products from head to foot that are quite minty. So when I saw bars Ilog Maria Spearmint Honey & Oatmeal Soaps in the store, I immediately grabbed one and decided to try it out!

One lazy but not to mention humid and hot morning, I decided to shower and give this bar of soap a try. It gave me a whiff of fresh and cool air as I lathered it on my skin, and as I finished bathing, my body felt very cool and refreshed. Yes, yes, yes. My day has started more than fine. More than fine – it was refreshing and it certainly felt good.

Good thing about it is that it did not feel the least sticky, and I felt my skin was still moisturized, as some minty soaps make skin feel icky and dry after washing. The Ilog Maria Spearmint Honey & Oatmeal Soap is one good bar that I’d love to repurchase again – a bigger bar, perhaps, for my wonderful morning showers!

Of course, I wouldn’t want my hair to be a mess as I attend the event, and I noticed that my bangs were becoming quite long and nonexistent already, so I opted for a quick stop at Greenbelt 3, at First Aid, to pay a visit to F Salon’s best-kept secret, Rico Gallegos. Remember him? He cut Sasha’s and Phoebe’s hair to perfection.

He first wanted to cut my hair and give it some concave bangs but I think I chickened out with the thought of it. Perhaps not my time yet, eh? Well, I opted for sideswept bangs. I think it made my face look chubbier, but hey, at least my bestbud M won’t be complaining on how thin I’ve been already!

There. It was quite windy during the event so my hair was just flying everywhere. I realize, this can be a lil bit high maintenance since my hair’s poofy – I need the hair iron more than ever, but it’d be worth it. Just some wax to hold the bangs, and some serum to keep hair frizz-free *smiles*

So, when am I perming my hair? When I’ve been having it cut shorter and shorter everytime hahaha!
