My favorite day of the year! Plus, it's an Olympic year as well! Here's a quick pic of what I'm using as a bookmark in my #filofax. It's a season gift card from Starbucks for Valentines Day. It was already hole-punched, to fit onto your key ring. I like how it looks better in here!

New Year, New Day Planner

What is your day planner of choice for the new year of 2014? I've been carrying around 2 of them, because I can't make up my mind. I love the colors of the Erin Condren Life Planner, and at the same time I love having a timeless classic in the Filofax Personal Malden, where I can add pages and inserts as needed. No matter what, I will make use of them! Show me yours!

Awww...Happy New Year! A dear friend and I were having breakfast yesterday and I asked him if he made any New Year's resolutions for 2014. I loved what he said, "I have visions for the upcoming year." It inspired me later that day to start a brand new vision board that can fit into my day planner, so I can look at it everyday. I also pulled out a book I have, that I found at the Goodwill, "Creative Visualization: Use the Power of Your Imagination to Create What You Want in Your Life," by Shakti Gawain.

Baby steps broken down! This is how I will go about decluttering my house. I'll start with my bedroom. I've always used drawn out boxes that I put in front of whatever task I need to get done. I love checking them off as I accomplish them! So, that's what I did here, and I made sure every square foot was accounted for. My goal is to be without so much stuff cluttering up my space and my life! How do you do it? Especially you recovering packrats!

Flashback Friday: my first diary

This was my first official diary. That means it's my first one that was bought (thanks, Mom!), and was a real book. Not one that came from cut out squares of notebook paper with construction paper on the cover, stapled together. My best friend, Molly Brown and I used to make those all the time in 1st grade (that was in 1977-78!) I still remember getting this from Scholastic Books (they are the best!) when I was in elementary school!

Nothing like looking back from where you started, to see how far you've come! This was my diary that recorded the journey through my divorce. Today, I'm so thankful to have a blessed friendship with my ex-husband, and his wife. People have called us weird. Why be ordinary when you can be extraordinary?! We are a far cry from where we started. It can be done, you must choose it.
