Right now it is only 10:30am and Mya is already asking how long it will be before "trick or treat time". It is cold and windy, and I think it's supposed to be like that all day/night. I'm just happy it isn't raining. At about 5:30 we are going over to my sister's house to let all the kids go trick or treating together in her neighborhood. After that they are having a little Halloween Party at their house. They have a really nice patio with an outdoor fireplace, so we will at least be able to stay warm while eating candy and telling ghost stories. It's going to be a fun night!

No Flu Shot For Me -Yet

Today has been a really long day. It all started when Mya woke me up around 4:00am. I don't know what got into her or why she woke up that early but she was wide awake and ready to start the day. That means i only got bout 2 hours of sleep last night. Today is also the day I had 3 daycare kids, plus Mya and 2 of my nephews.

After they all left for the day I headed over to one of the local schools to get my flu shot. This is the only place in town I knew of that had any available. Being that I have a congenital heart condition I am considered part of the "high risk" group and generally get one every year. When I got there, there was about 15 people in front of me. I had been there about 5 minutes or so when the nurse came out and said they only had 8 left...so I was out of luck. I am hoping that Mya will at least be able to get hers when she has her 3yr checkup next month.

My dad came over this afternoon to fix one of the bathroom faucets that had been leaking so hopefully I won't have anymore issues with that.

SO now Mya is finally in bed and asleep, the house is clean (well, somewhat clean) and it is almost midnight and I am exhausted. Time for me to go to bed. Goodnight all!

Birthday Party, Balloons and a Monkey in a Tree

So, my baby is now officially 3 years old! Her birthday was on Monday but we had her birthday part Sunday night. On Sunday morning I was running around crazy trying to get everything done. I went and picked up her cake, some balloons and some other items. I ended up waiting what seemed like forever in line because the barcode scanners weren't working. Finally I was able to get back home, finish cleaning the house and give her a short nap before everyone arrived. All the kids (and the adults too) had a great time.

Now that the birthday is over Mya is now counting the days til Halloween. I think I mentioned this in an earlier post but when I asked her what she wanted to be she decided she wanted to be "A Monkey in a Tree". I have no idea where she came up with that but I did end up finding her a really cute monkey costume. Now I just need to find things to make a decent looking tree costume for myself. The things we will do for our kids!

Bella True- Tips For Guys

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_i5aFS2mx5us/StvZx7_xosI/AAAAAAAAAaw/Q9Mei8vPGVk/s320/bracelet.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394144430648304322" />

With the Christmas shopping season fast approaching, I was recently asked by my sisters fiance what kind of gift I thought she would want. Now, being that they have been together for about 5 years now, I would think he would already know her well enough to know what she likes. But, apparently not.

My sister, like most other woman out there, loves jewelry and would always be thrilled to receive a new bracelet, necklace, ring, or earrings. Although I think Dave would prefer it if I actually went shopping and picked the perfect piece out for him, I instead directed him to the Bella True website.

Bella True has some beautiful jewelery (like the tennis bracelet pictured above). They also have a section on their website called "Tips For Guys", which gives 9 different tips and examples of what types of jewelery are best for different occasions. Armed with these 9 tips I am confident that Dave will be able to pick out the perfect Christmas gift!

Winding Down

I am finally starting to get tired. After my last post I actually got off the computer for a little while. I grabbed my Kettlebell weight and put in one of my more difficult workout DVD's and got in about 25 minutes of exercise. Now I am going to sign off for the night so I can take a shower and go to bed. I'm thinking maybe I should make that part of my nightly routine.

Another Long Night?

It's almost 11pm and I am still awake. I was actually online looking up some info for my sister and I ended up reading this long article on Fenphedra. Then, of course, I just had to check Facebook and watch a few funny YouTube videos. It probably didn't help that I drank a Dr. Pepper while I was surfing the net. I am comepletely wide awake and I don't see myself going to bed or to sleep anytime soon.

10 More Days!

Just got back from the store. I had to go get some air filters and I took Mya with me so she could pick out a birthday cake. I had thought about making her one but they had some really cute ones at Meijer so I just let her choose the one she wanted. She ended up picking out a really cute Care Bear cake. It's pink and purple with a rainbow and 2 Care Bears on it. Now I need to go to a few party stores and see if I can find any Care Bear balloons or party decorations. The birthday countdown is on. Only 10 more days!

Just Stay Home

Well, so far I have been doing really well on my weight loss diet. For the most part I have been eating healthier and getting more exercise. I had been doing a lot of walking this summer...although now with the weather being so cold up here I really need to start walking on the treadmill more. The one habit that I seem to have the hardest time breaking is eating fast food. I have never been much of a cook- not that I don't enjoy it but it was always just me so making big meals just for myself seemed like a waste of time and money. But now that I have Mya I really need to break the habit of the weekly trips to McDonald's or Taco Bell. Today has been a long but lazy day. I was up early because I wanted to call my auto insurance place as soon as they opened this morning. I needed to get some info on changing my policy. Other then that, I really haven't done much of anything. I didn't have any of the daycare kids today, so it was just Mya and I here. We had fun just hanging out, watching cartoons and, of course, playing with all of her toys. I was even able to take a nap with her. I was looking to get a plasma TV. I made sure that I was at the store in plenty of time before it opened but, to my surprise, there were very few people there. I even started to question whether I had the date right or not. So I'm assuming that either people just didn't know about it or they weren't able to go because it was during the week and they were working. Whatever the case, I was able to get my plasma TV (along with some accessories for my Sony Vaio that I had been looking for). While I was on my desktop computer earlier tonight, all of a sudden it stopped connecting to the internet. I tried re-starting it a few times, but then I realized that it is my modem that must have stopped working. I called AT&T and they connected me to data center services where they tried to figure out if there was a problem on their end. There didn't seem to be any problem there so they concluded (as did I) that it is probably the modem. I have been going to the sales for the past 2 years and have found so many great things for Mya. This year my sisters and I decided to participate in the sale. It is only $1 per person to set up a table and the sale runs for about 4 hours. Out of the 3 of us (and with only 1 child and having the least amount of stuff to sell) I made about $50, which I thought was pretty good. The only problem with that was that, while I was there, I saw so many other cute things that other people were selling that I ended up spending a portion of my earnings buying more stuff! I found Mya some cute winter clothes, one of those Mp3 players for kids, and some Littlest Pet Shop toys. I will probably come back and sell again at the spring sale, but next time I need to just stay at my own table!

Too Much Water

Well, right now it is only 10:30am and I have already put in hours of work. This morning, my grandmother had gotten up to get ready for church. Apparently she decided to brush her teeth first and then take a shower. She took a nice long shower and when she got out she realized that, after brushing her teeth, she had left the water on and it had been on and overflowing onto the floor the whole time she was in the shower. The whole bathroom was flooded! SO my mom asked me to come over to help clean everything up. The sad part is, that bathroom was completely remodeled (by my mom) only about a year ago. She had updated everything- new paint, new vanity/mirror, new Hansgrohe faucet, and new wood floors. I think the floor is definitely going to have to be replaced, again. My grandma felt so bad, but we are just glad that she is okay. As for me, I think I am going to go back to bed for awhile. I'm exhausted!

Going Back To School

Ever since Mya was born I have been thinking about going back to school. To save on child care and also because I live in a very small town and am currently without a car, I have been considering taking classes online.

While doing a bit of research, I came across the website for Gonzaga University. Gonzaga is an accredited, non-profit university that offers various Master's degrees online. I am interested in the Online master degree in Nursing program. They have financial aid programs available and I should be able to finish the program within 2 years. I have already sent in a request for more information and will be applying soon.

My Little Monkey

Today was a fun day. I am still not feeling 100%, but definitely better than I have felt for the past 3 days. Went shopping for some of Mya's birthday gifts. I found some great sales on Littlest Pet Shop animals so I bought her some of those, along with some clothes. A friend of mine took me out for a belated birthday lunch at On The Border and then we went to the mall to look for a Halloween costume for Mya.

When I had asked Mya what she wanted to be for Halloween she immediately said that she wants to be, "a monkey in a tree". Okay, now I'm not sure about the tree part (or even where she came up with that idea) but we found the cutest monkey costume at Old Navy. She was so excited when I showed it to her!

All of the kids (nieces and nephews) were over earlier so we all went out for ice cream. Now it is almost 11pm and I am beat. I am just sitting here watching TV. They have a really interesting show on about DNA testing. But after this is over I am going to bed!

Flu Season Is Here

So, it seems that the flu season is upon us. Normally I get a flu shot every year, usually sometime in late September so I haven't gotten one yet this year. On Tuesday my sister and I took the kids to playgroup. Now, since late Tuesday night, I have been feeling sick. I have had a slight fever, achy joints and an upset stomach. I haven't eaten since yesterday morning (being sick is definitely the best appetite suppressant) so now I have been feeling weak as well. If I don't feel any better by tomorrow morning I am definitely making an appointment with the doctor!

Birthday Decisions

Mya is going to be 3 years old next month. I can hardly believe it! The time has gone by so fast. Today I was talking to her about what kid of cake/theme she wants for her birthday party. Giving her a choice might not have been he best thing to do because, since then, she has been coming up to me every few hours to tell me she changed her mind again. First it was Dora, then Mickey Mouse, Veggietales, and then Littelest Pet Shop. I was thinking about making her cake myself this year so tonight, after looking at dozens of different cakes online (and craving chocolate the whole time, which would really not be good for my diet), I have decided that I am just going to buy different figurines and include ALL of the themes on one cake. Now the only thing I have left to decide is what kind of cake to make. I don't think I'll ask Mya's opinion on that one!

Memory Loss

Ever since I was pregnant with Mya, my memory seems to continually get worse. A few posts ago I talked about misplacing my cell phone. Today it was my car keys. I was getting ready to get in the car to go to the store when I remembered I hadn't gotten the mail yet. I pulled the mail out of the box and began looking through it. As usual it was mostly bills and some brochure/info about Medicare supplement insurance. I took the mail back into the house and set it on the counter, then went back outside and got in the car.

As I went to start the car I realized that I didn't have my keys/ I could have sworn I had them when I came out the first time so I checked my pockets and my purse. Nothing. I went back in the house (again) to see if I had set them on the counter with the mail. Nope, they weren't there either. I checked all over the house and could not find them so, as a last resort, retraced my steps and walked back out to the mailbox. There they were! The keys were actually IN the mailbox! I still have no idea how I did that.

Fall Is Here Already

Today was a busy day. This morning my niece and nephew had their first soccer game, so I took Mya over to the park to watch them play. It was so cold this morning! It seems like fall is already upon us here in Michigan, Some of the trees have already started to change color.

After leaving the game all of the kids were starving so we took them to McDonald's for lunch and let them play there for awhile. I thought Mya would have been exhausted by the time we got home but, no, she was still wide awake and ready to go.

This afternoon we went to a birthday party for another one of my nieces. We had dinner there and (of course) cake and ice cream and Mya was able to play with all of her cousins. We got home around 8pm and Mya was still not tired so I let her watch an episode of Max and Ruby (currently one of her favorite cartoons) while I looked up some information on Myrtle beach golf packages for my dad for his vacation next month.

Mya finally went to bed around 9pm and by then she was exhausted. She didn't even ask want me to read her a book. I am really hoping she will sleep in so she is rested and not cranky for Sunday School tomorrow.

It's Been A Year Already

I feel like I have been neglecting my blogs lately. This summer has just been so hectic and busy from working, traveling and just being outside enjoying the nice weather, I haven't really posted as much as I would have liked to. But now that fall is approaching and things are winding down I definitely plan on dedicating more of my time to writing/posting. Just this past week I renewed my domain.I have been also looking into different seo servicesand other ways that I can improve on the overall quality of my blog. There will be more pictures as well as new, regular features coming soon!

Lost My Phone

Tonight after the kids got home I decided to take Mya to the store. She was all excited because when we go I usually let her ride the horse and get some kind of small treat. We were only at the store for about 20 minutes or so. I just needed to pick up some milk, some more of the diet pills that I have been trying out and a book of stamps. After we got home I went to get my phone to call my sister and discovered it wasn't in my purse. I remembered putting it in my purse before I left for the store so I tried calling my phone number, hoping someone had picked up my phone if they had found it. No one answered. I went back to the store and tried to re-trace my steps. Still couldn't find it. I will be going back to check again tomorrow and am hoping that someone will find it and take at least take it to customer service.

Ready For The Fair

Tomorrow is the start of our local county 4-H Fair. Mya is so excited! One of my cousins shows her horses at the fair so we will be going down there with her in the morning to help her carry all of her horse supplies and get everything set up. They will have a petting zoo for the kids and then around 5pm they open the carnival rides. I did take Mya to the fair last year (I even have pictures posted here on my blog) but she was still pretty young. This is I am hoping she is tall enough to ride the mini roller coaster because that is all she has been talking about! I'm sure I will be posting more pictures soon!
