The legendary Mariah Carey is back in the studio for the FOURTEENTH time in her career to record album #14. This time, she's back working with one of her best collaborators, Jermaine Dupri. Their previous work, The Emancipation of Mimi, was one of the biggest successes of 2005, so it's no wonder she's looking forward to working with him again.

Jermaine tweeted these pictures of the duo in the studio with Mariah showing off her curves after her jaw-dropping weight loss;

Luckily Janet Jackson isn't in the picture this time around to cause unnecessary friction between Jermaine & Mariah.

Who knew she could do it?! She looks amazing! I just hope the voice is back in tip-top shape for this album because we don't want any live performance mishaps this era.

Fuel Subsidy: Was It All an Act?

The strike is OVER! After a long week where Nigerians showed that they won't tolerate government's nonchalant attitude towards average Nigerians, the price of fuel has been brought down from between N138 - N150 per gallon to N97 per gallon. After everything, you really have to wonder, was it all an act?

I had an argument with a friend of mine on the issue. He argued that the plan from the beginning was to set the price of fuel at about N100, but to do that, the government had to show that things could be much worse so Nigerians would appreciate that N100 price. As a result, they planned with the Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC) and begun the strike, so Nigerians would feel that they have the power to change things.

While it is a good argument (even more convincing as it was made before the N97 price was agreed upon), I have to say I don't agree. Everyday that Nigeria was on strike, we lost N320B (according to Channels News). Following their calculation, in five days, we lost N1.6T. This may be me being naive, but I'd like to think that the government wouldn't plan for such to happen. Then again I could be very wrong as it's been proven numerous times that we have some ruthless blood/money hounds in government.

What side do you agree with? Was it all an act?

It seems like Kelly Handsome is trying to join the Don Jazzy bashing train. In the wake of the subsidy removal and #OccupyNigeria protests, many people on Twitter have made it their life's mission to attack the Mo'Hits crew boss because of their major support for President Jonathan during the last election. They went as far as remixing D'banj's Scapegoat to a political jingle for the man.

I want to feel bad for Don Jazzy, but really, that jingle was a mess. In fact all of them that were singing "I believe in Goodluck" can't argue for the treatment they're getting now. I just thank God the strike is over.

A Hiatus Till March?

As a result of this, I was considering going on hiatus till March when I'm back in America where I'll have speedy internet. Decided not to though. We're barely into 2012 and the drama is already heating up for reality star, Kim Kardashian. She left us reeling with her 72-day marriage and divorce in 2011, but this year it's drama from the past that is rearing its 'bald' head!

In an exclusive interview with Star Magazine, Amber Rose reported that Kim is the reason she and rap star Kanye West ended their relationship. Here's the quote;

They were both cheating. They were both cheating on me and Reggie with each other. She was sending pictures, and I was like, ‘Kim, just stop. Don’t be that person.’ I thought at least she’d be woman enough to respond to me. She never responded.” Despite the fact that Kim Kardashian ruined her relationship with Kanye West, Amber Rose also said that she has no hard feelings, adding: “I want to thank her. Because if she was never a homewrecker, then I never would have met Wiz (Khalifa), and I wouldn’t be as happy as I am now.”

Today, the blogger behind Neks2U.com, together with the Blush Nigeria beauty brand held a fun networking event for bloggers at the Blush store at 1388 Tiamiyu Savage Street, VI.

The event was so much fun! Finally got to meet some awesome bloggers like Onyinye of FashionPhoenix, Latifah of That1960Chick, and of course Nneka of Neks2U.

Blush is really branching out this year. In the next couple of months (or weeks), they plan to have a major launch that'll draw in a lot of press and feature the best of their products. They had a huge display out today of all their new makeup;

I'm in Nigeria till March. Feels surreal that I'm staying for so long, but I'm done with undergrad so why not?

There's so much to do here. Even with the fuel subsidy mess and all the Boko Haram stuff wahala, I'm happy to be back. I got in and went to villa the next day so I was absent for a bit. Back in Lagos now so I'll be back blogging in full force!

I'm so happy to report that according to US Weekly, pop superstar, Britney Spears, is engaged to her manager boyfriend, Jason Trawick.

This will be the third marriage for BritBrit. She was married to Jason Alexander first (wedding was a shotgun wedding in Vegas and ended in an annulment), and then Kevin Federline with whom she had her two kids.

Yesterday, one of my best friend's was telling me about her family friend that went missing in North Carolina. She said the babe just went off the grid all of a sudden and hasn't gone to work in over a week. No one knows her whereabouts at the moment.

Today, someone sent me a link to this website. It was set up by someone who knows of her, urging people to join in prayer and help search for the missing Pharmacy School graduate.

Please look at her face very well and be on the lookout for her. Call the police if you have any information about her. Here's the story from the site;

Yesterday, I heard one of the worst news ever. I found out that the beautiful lady whose picture is on the left, Tosin Oyelowo, went missing on Friday, December 9th in Charleston, South Carolina where she is working as a resident after graduating from the University of Charleston West Virginia School of Pharmacy last summer. I never even knew her personally, but I remember seeing her at several events here in Raleigh, NC (where she and her parents have lived for some years since they moved to US from Lagos, Nigeria) including her dad's 50th birthday party some years ago. I remember noticing her beautiful skin and calm persona. To hear that she went missing few days ago is very shocking and painful. If I didn't even know her personally but I'm crying as I am typing this, then I can't even imagine what her parents, family and friends are going through right now.

The news was sent to me as a prayer request text from a friend of mine. I, immediately, called him back to find out what happened and he told me. Heartbreaking, to say the least. My friend mentioned that he had done a google search and there was nothing about it on the news and he felt that it will be great idea to use Facebook and social media, in general, to spread the news and help increase the chance of someone finding her. However, he wasn't too sure if to go ahead and do that on his own. I went ahead and told him that I will go ahead and do something about putting the news out there for everyone to spread since the media will not do it.

To know that such a young and beautiful black lady with incredible potential is missing and there is nothing about it on google or on the news is extremely devastating. However, thanks to the internet, I know we can do something about it. Spread the news.
I am hoping we can use the social media to circulate this news and help bring her back home. We might not be powerful enough to have this on every TV news channel, but I believe we can use the power of the internet to bring Tosin back home. Pls, post this link and let people see her face. Make sure every friend or family member of yours does the same.

If you see her anywhere or have any information, please call 911 and alert the police in your vicinity. Or you may contact the Charleston Police Department at 843-577-7434. If the news media will not do it, we will use the resources that we have to spread the word.
Everyone is praying and fasting for her return but I know we have to take action and broadcast the word; I believe God uses people to answer prayers. I believe she will be found by God's grace. Let us use the power of the internet to let the world know about her, hopefully find her and bring her back home to her loving family and friends!

EME superstar, Wizkid, has released the video for the third single off his hit album. The song is Pakurumo, and it is my favorite on the album. The video does not disappoint at all.

It was directed by Clarence Peters & Banky W. and features Pasuma, Tiwa Savage, Mo'Cheddah, Ugonna Omeruo, Noble Igwe and more, but the star of the show was Funke Akindele.
