Never thought Cher Lloyd would be my style icon, but dare I say it she's starting to look pretty good nowadays, her new stylists are doing an amazing job. Especially the coral fringe dress she wore to Cosmo awards, I absolutely loved it and then I found out it was Aqua Couture (and somewhat affordable) and loved it even more.

Unfortunately I have no where to wear it to but I love it so much I'm tempted to just buy it and keep it till I find somewhere to wear it (or just walk around in it in the house) but considering I'm half past broke at the moment it really doesn't make any sense. Shame.

Redeux: Part 2

It's that time of year again, I'm back at Uni so that means an actual valid excuse for the lack of posts, once again I'm in a house with no internet for at least another two weeks and I can't guarantee that once it's all sorted that I'll actually post often but in the meanwhile I've got a few things to tide you over with.

Many, many moons ago I assited on the The Thirt's video shoot for 'Damn Girl', if you don't know who they are, they're an amazingly talanted rock band from Brixton who in their short career have toured with the Rolling Stones and the Libertines to name the least. The shoot was probably the longest day of my life, 8am- 5am the next morning but was actually kind of fun, copius amounts of alchol and ridicously cool people. The video actually came out a while ago but have just got around to posting it now shame on me.

And speaking of the Thirst, they're also performing at Supa Dupa Fly at the Jazz Cafe next week Friday with Shadez the Misfit.

Once you've done that, check out the interview I did with Proffesor Green over at my second digital home; theCool, another ridicuosly cool guy who dealt with my hastitly made up question like a pro and gave some great responses.

Thats should hopefully be enough to tide you guys till the next time I rear my head round these parts.

Picture Perfect

I've realised I rarely show you guys what I get up to, mostly because it either ends up on theCool or I never remember to bring my camera but I'm slowly trying to remedy that. The past week I've actually been kinda busy, on Monday me & Obui passed through Margin and meet loads of amazing brands, the recap full recap can be found here and here but for now just check out look at the pretty pictures and enjoy.

Then on Sat we passed through the shoot for VA-G's Sky's the Limit campaign at Portland House, the same place they shot The King's Speech and other more salacious projects, Cherri V, Marcus Nasty, Fuda Guy, Margs and more were all hand to film exclusive performances for the campaign.

Also passed through the For Love & Money launch at the Macbeth last night, with performances and sets from Motive, True Tiger, Mikil Paine and a surprise performance from Flirta D that got me so gassed it was sick music sick clothes, what more can I say.

How amazing are these spot-on Zanotti knock offs from Carvela, I usually avoid Carvela's because 1). They're usually out of my budget and 2). They remind me of freshies (sorry) but these beauties have defiantly changed my tune. I actually like the Carvella's better because I have an affinity for red suede and plus these are like 20% of the price of the originals, they're still not particularly cheap though at £140.

So it looks like this weekend is the weekend to grab yourself a bargin, UO are holding their first sample sale only a few steps away from the Motel one , perfect. I'm a huge fan of UO but their prices can be a bit rich for my blood at times so I'm defiantly going to head down there.

I've been in love with this song ever since I luckily won tickets to see them perform at the iTunes festival last week. The show was amazzzinnggggg, I've never been to a rock/indie show before so this was a great way to break my indie show virginity.

The song it's self is so sick, it sounds 100x times better live, the band really get into it and give it their all especially Chris Martin, you can't tell me he doesn't look like he's about to spit out a sick 16 when he's performing this song. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get a recording of it but I did get some very crappy, blurry pictures of what I can promise you is actually Chris Martin and not just some random.

A couple of months ago I spent a very cold, very long night in the car park of an old chocolate factory, all for a good cause may I add, I'd been asked to head my first solo styling gig for the lovely Taylor. I'd love to tell you more about it but honestly I was so tired from being up all night pain-stakeingly gluing those annoying rhinestones and crystals onto the embellished bra that I honestly don't remember much from that night other than the fact the finished product looked great.

Grand Turino

Ever since my Ticks broke and resigned themselves to shoe heaven, I've been on the lookout for some suitable replacements and I think the Turino may just be it, yes they are technically the same shoe but with zippers instead of tacks and a closed front but that's the beauty of them, they're so similar to what we've sen before, yet so different.

I can't believe bloggers haven't been all over these like they were with the Ticks, I guess they're all still caught up with Lita Fever to notice them which is great because it means they're now on sale with 30% off at Revole. Result!

Kind of Like: Ichiban

A while back I attended the G-Shock East's Urbanwear sale on behalf of theCool, whilst I was there I got to interview a few of the particpaiting brands including (all which can be found on theCool) but my favorite interview had to be with Tarriq from Ichiban, infact I liked it so much that I've decided to post some of the extras that didn't make the cut.

How did Ichiban come about?

Ive always been into fashion and style so while studying Graphic Design at DeMonford I started printing my own t-shirts and got a good reception from people and it all started from there.

So what would you say was your inspiration?

Everything, we started off as a graphic design brand, our graphics are at the heart of our company and we get inspiration from everything; 90’s sports jerseys to Holister inspired prints, Disney, The economy, Sharp photography, anything.

What do you think of the UK Streetwear Scene at the moment?

To be honest I think the majority of them are poor and unprofessional, a lot of brands try to run before they walk, not paying enough attention to the graphic element and the overall idea of producing good product. A lot of them are doing stuff that you can get anywhere else. At the end of the day it’s all about finding the right balance of a product that’s cool and that sells well.

They [UK streetwear brands] try to run before they can walk by, they just want to see their names on the front of their own shops when they’re not even paying enough attention to the graphic element of their product. Brands like Trapstar have gone the right way about it. They made sure that they got their stuff out in the right markets, to the right people and then later focused on a shop in the right place at the right time.

Is there any one item that you think personifies Ichiban?

An item that personifies Ichiban...there isn’t one; Ichiban is such a diverse brand with a broad range of things for a broad range of people, no matter who you are you’ll always be able to find something that will appeal to you.

Believe it or not, I'm a big Streetwear head and since joining theCool I've been lucky enough to interview a number of streetwear brands, the one question that I always ask is "What do you think of the UK streetwear scene". Nine times out of 10 I get the standard 'It's really good, interesting, love it etc....' PC response, or even worse, the vomit inducing 'We don't consider ourselves streetwear...' speech *rolls eyes* so it was so refreshing to talk to Tarriq and hear someone actually speak sense about the UK streetwear scene and streetwear on a whole and what's even better is that they've got an amazing brand to back it up with.

First thoughts of the collection was 'meh' but as it went on I found myself oddly excited about the Spanish Rivera inspired show. It managed to have a look for every occasion, with every possible possible pattern, texture and embellishment thrown in for luck; sequins, feathers, lace, embroidery, ruffles and more, an all-inclusive collection all around.

I absolutely loved Gucci's collection, compared to De La Renta's overwhelming 63 piece collection, Guccis's short but sweet 7 look collection was a welcome change. Filled with chic, simple cuts and colours; nudes, Golds, Sequins, and semi-masculine tailoring, Gucci managed to tick every single box with swift precision.

Vogue Experience V

So it's March and as you can see there are no new posts, and unfortunately there probably won't be any for a while. I broke my laptop a couple of days after I first wrote the last post and I'm still in the middle of getting it sorted so it looks like I won't be back again till the end of March at the earliest :-(

In the meanwhile, just thought I'd show some pictures from a shoot I helped out Obui with a couple of few days ago, it was the first time I've actually remembered to bring a camera to a shoot I've been assisting on so I had to share.

The quality of the pictures are kinda wack because I just ended up using my phone but hopefully it gives you an idea of the amazing-ness we managed to capture day. To be honest I 'm sure I didn't really help much on the day but it was fun to be a part of it, I just can't wait to see the finished product, I know they're going to look amazing!

Hopefully these should be enough to hold you over till I'm back.

~Hiatus~

It's been a long time coming, but I have finally decided to go on an official hiatus, it'll be no different from what I've been doing on the blog the past few months ie; nothing but this time I'll feel a lot less guilty about it. Looking back to when I first started, I was blogging two or three times a day but now I'm lucky if I do it 3 times a month which is really disappointing because there hasn't really been anything stopping me except my own laziness and at times self-doubt plus the odd laptop malfunction.

But I shall be back, hoepfully by the first week of March with a renewed love for blogging and life in general, until then, you can keep up with me and my not-so-exciting life by following me on Twitter.

I love 'this' Kanye; V-necks, suede slippers, Leather jeans, and a plethora of chains, they shouldn't work but he somehow manages to pull it off and effortlessly, I love it all. Not too sure how I'd feel if this actually started a trend amongst regular guys, but on Kanye, it looks beautiful.

P.S Outfit posts will be making a return very soon, my room has been a tip for the past few months but I've finally got around to sorting it out so we should soon be returning to our regular schedule. Yayy!!!

Vero Moda Silver Ticket

I’ve been meaning to pass through the Vero Moda store on Oxford Street for a while now, I’ve gotten a few things from them via ASOS but hadn’t been able to make it down to the store since it’s opening.

I finally managed to do so yesterday, and it seemed like I had picked the perfect day to do so, as soon as I walked in I was greeted by a member of staff who handed me a silver ticket which entitles you to a Buy One Get One Free offer on all items in the store.

I'm not going to show you what I got because I was in a painkiller induced haze whilst there so I ended up getting some really random stuff, but you can check what they've got to offer on ASOS and their official site.

The promotion is running from the 9^th- 24^th December so you’ve still got a few weeks to check it out.

G-Shock x Art

I passed through G-Shock East x VA-G launch party last week, to be honest I could care less about the watch, my main attraction was the line up, there was Marcus Nasty, Ed Sheeran, Wretch 32, Cherri V, FemFel, Random Impulse, Selah, and loads more. We managed to get there just in time to catch... no one, sucked. We did however manage to take a few pictures of things, and also got to met a fantastic photographer so it wasn't all too bad.

We then randomly came across this gallery preview a few doors down, it was full of loads of fancy looking artsy people and we had just missed the champagne but it was great to be able to look around. Unfortunately I didn't remember to get any of the artists name, but enjoy.

All of this artists pictures were a collage of music sheets individually painted and then put together.

This artist's work was my favourite out of everyone, it was hard to capture it on camera but the vibrancy and detailing of the paintings really draw you in. The baroque print backgrounds had so much density to them it looked like they were almost 3D.

This last artist's work was another favourite, the mute colouring really stood out among the other pieces, there was just such a sense of calm and solace about them.
