This is SO TRUE, and not just for little kids. I have said to many of my friends that are having babies: tell your kids about your life BEFORE you were parents. There is a lot of life in those years before parenthood and a lot of things to connect to. My favorite stories of my dad were before I was even a glint in his eye.

Such a great story! But seriously, you know what I took away from the whole tale? That you played with Barbie until you were too old too. It was a cute joke, but I really did have to hide my stash when my friends came over because I knew they’d make fun of me. I finally gave her up around the time I hit junior high
