Kings of Leon live

2014-05-13T16:55:00.005-07:00

Kings of Leon's show in Swansea, at Liberty Stadium sold 18,000 tickets. We here at Kings of Leon Live aren't surprised!

Although some would be surprised, we were not! Those who have been lucky enough to see KOL live (now or in the past) will tell you they are surprised they aren't all sold out within a few minutes! With a capacity of 25,000 at the Liberty Stadium, they are sure to sell out soon!

We were lucky enough to be able to see the Chicago show (pictured above) so we know fans are in for an unbelievable experience! Not only is the screen huge but what they show on it is crazy! This has to be our personal favorite stage setup, and close to our all time KOL gig. We have been to a lot of shows so that is saying something!

The huge screen, top shelf speakers with Kings of Leon coming out of them, not to mention some kind of foam coming out of the sky (during Cold Desert) made for one hell of a concert!! The feelings we had were one of a close relationship with band and fans alike! KOL fans are kinda a close group of people! Everyone is always friendly with each other! In fact, some guy in the front row gave one of the guest helpers a $100 bill and told him to buy beers for the guys in the row behind us. We were the center and about half way back. We were all amazed and a bit confused as well! So, the people in that row did the same for some people that were in the very back. Makes us wonder if this continued to the rest of the stadium?

Maybe we should start a kol tradition like this? Each row takes a collection, picks a row and sends them a beer greeting! That would be so cool to start...wouldn't it? Hopefully we will be joining the boys in Indianapolis at the Klipsch Music center or at Red Rocks in Colorado. We missed out on the show we were gonna see there so maybe we will get tickets and make the 18 hour drive again? If you are gonna be at any of the above shows, let us know so we can arrange a meetup or at least we can buy you a drink!

This is gonna be a great summer full of Kings of Leon shows! Make sure you get to one of their shows before Caleb decides to break off on his own and do that country album! lol You will regret not going if he does though! You also might miss your chance of seeing the best band out there today! And that would be no different than missing a Pearl Jam or Nirvana show back in the 90's. You don't want to miss this!!! I promise you they are that good! And if you are someone who doesn't know more than a few KOL songs, then I want you to listen to Cold Desert, fans, knocked up, milk, back down south and arizona. KOL has so much more to offer than just "use somebody" and "sex on fire!" You will fall in love with the band like we have!

Also, don't be one of those people living for tomorrow! Why people are so worried about the crap they are gonna do when they are old, is beyond me! No matter how much money you save and things you have when you are 80, I bet you will regret not doing all the things you wanted to do today! You have to take the time today, to do the things you want to do or you will burn yourself out and life won't be near as fun!

SOOO, Make yourself happy and join us at a show! And get yourself an AHA SHAKE Tshirt! AHA SHAKE and YOUNGFOLLOWILL tees here

Coming soon,. AHA SHAKE pillow cases and more

I am taking steps to finally work my dream job. Please read along and see if you can take the steps to get your dream job too! If you want to help me with mine, please read below, share the link to my tshirts/prints/post cards and...if you find something you like, buy it.
I need help from kind people like yourself.

Get your Kings of Leon AHA SHAKE t-shirts here

I have been working jobs I don't like for most of my life! I think far too many of us do! The one good job that I really liked, closed it's doors and put me out on the street's job hunting again. Now that was years ago and ever since, I haven't been able to get a job like it. Due to the economy a few years back, I took a job (I still have today) that barely paid over minimum wage. I have never been "too good" for any job and some pay is better than no pay. Plus, they had insurance which is a huge plus these days! Since I am a carpenter by trade, I am able to actually make more money picking up painting and remodeling jobs on the side. Word of mouth has keep me busy enough to pay the bills.

I think for most of us, we are so tired when we get home from work, that it is hard for us to focus on finding that "Dream Job!" I truly believe that working a low paying job, physically and mentally drains our souls! Always worried about putting food on the table for our kids and a roof over their heads. If you are like me, you believe that something is going to come along and magically put us in our dream jobs. Or maybe, I am simply writing this out.... to get it in my head... that I have to make this dream job happen? The simple truth... it's not gonna happen unless we take steps to make it happen! They don't have to be huge steps but if you take your first step, the next one will be easier!

Since I love photography and working with photo editing software, I found a place to hopefully sell my artwork. Now, my real dream job is to travel and take photo's of amazing places. That dream has always taken a back seat to paying bills. But hopefully one day I won't be saying this anymore.

I am going to keep moving forward with what I have to do until I have taken enough steps in the right direction! Hopefully, and with a little help from others, I will get myself going in a direction that makes more sense for me.

I would like to say I can do this on my own, but I simply cannot! Just sharing the link to my t-shirts and prints will help me in so many ways! Also, please come back to see how many steps I have taken!

Thank you for reading and please let me know if I can help you take some steps yourself!

Kings of Leon have a 'relaxed atmosphere' with new album Mechanical Bull

2013-08-21T13:58:00.002-07:00

__ Kings of Leon

Recorded in Nashville with producer Angelo Petraglia

_MECHANICAL BULL_

With all the hustle and bustle that I imagine goes with touring and making a 'new album', I was pleased to hear that rockers Kings of Leon had a 'fun and relaxed atmosphere' while making their 2013 album, Mechanical Bull, Set to release on September 24,2013.

They have also released a few singles. I have listened to 'Super Soaker' and 'wait for me.' I think both of these songs are great but I am simply in love with 'wait for me.' The very moment I heard the song play, I was in love with it! And with Super Soaker, I guess you could say it had to "soak in" a little. Now it has turned out to be my jam song. I love to play it as soon as I get off of work because it puts me in a great mood!

I am eagerly waiting for Kings of Leon to announce their US tour which I am betting will be this fall. After all, I think we are owed a tour. lol I think they are refreshed and out there doing what they do best and that is have a good time while rocking for us fans!

I hope they keep having fun at it and that they don't wear themselves out again. They are not the youth and young manhood of their earlier days. But I do believe they will be here come around sundown, (even if Caleb does branch out and make his country album.) Which I will be buying and enjoying just like I did with Jared's new Album Smoke & Jackal.

Some of music's biggest names have signed up to a new scheme where fans can get free gig tickets in exchange for helping to fight extreme poverty....

Some of the biggest names in music - including Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Jay Z and Soundgarden - have all signed up to a new scheme where fans can get free gig tickets in exchange for work towards ending extreme poverty.

It's as part of the Global Citizens project which is 'a tool to amplify and unite a generation's call for justice. It's a place for you to learn, and act, to bring an end to extreme poverty.'

People who sign up can earn points by watching and sharing videos about extreme poverty, signing petitions, buying fairtrade products and writing to their political representatives about issues surrounding extreme poverty.

These points can then be exchanged for rewards like gig tickets to see bands who have signed up to support the movement.

Pearl Jam's manager Kelly Curtis is among those behind the project - which hopes to modernise and incentivise activism.

The list of acts who have signed up so far can be seen Here

Kings of Leon new Concert & songs 2013

2012-10-30T17:20:00.001-07:00

Kings Of Leon have been confirmed as the second headliner for Optimus Alive in Portugal next year. They have also said they are working on a new album for 2013. Also going to be playing at Optimus Alive will be Depeche Mode. They will headline the day before Kings of Leon on July 13.

Optimus Alive is held in Oeiras, Portugal and this year saw acts such as The Cure, Radiohead, The Stone Roses, Florence & The Machine and Justice. The Festival runs July 12-14 and tickets are about 97 Euro or about $125.00 dollars for a weekend pass with camping. This sounds like a lot of fun seeing how we weren't able to make it to any festivals this year.

With the news of KOL playing these festivals we can only assume that they will be touring in the US next year. Our prediction is that KOL will do a few shows, spread out across the country in the spring or early summer and follow up with a full blown tour next summer. We look forward to seeing more than one...if our predictions come true! Last summer they did exactly what we predicted here but do to some throat issues with singer Caleb Followill, they cut their U.S. tour short .Let's hope they don't repeat.

New Kings of Leon songs, albums 2013

2012-10-26T10:43:00.004-07:00

I think we are all ready for some new music from KOL and if all the rumors are true, then we will see a new album in 2013!

There is a chance that fans will see a new Kings of Leon album sooner rather than later according to bassist Jared Followill.

"We are in the writing process right now and it's coming along pretty quickly," Followill told BBC News. "We'll definitely get into the studio but we know we have no plans of finishing it this year but definitely early next year, so I think people should expect something from us sooner rather than later.

For now we will all have to keep singing all the great songs of their past albums! I for one am very appreciative to have such a great collection of music from a truly talented band.

STORY BY CHARLES KEN

EXPECT TO HEAR NEW KINGS OF LEON TRACKS NEXT YEAR

Alternative rockers Kings of Leon are readying their latest full-length, and it’s coming soon. In fact, the new tunes are on target to arrive next year! Bass player Jared Followill says that the guys are getting ready to enter the studio to start recording their much-anticipated follow-up to their 2010 release, “Come Around Sundown.”

“We are in the writing process right now and it’s coming along pretty quickly,” Followill told BBC 6 Music when asked about new music. “We’ll definitely get into the studio by the end of this year but we have no plans of finishing it this year. But definitely early next year, so I think people should expect something from us sooner rather than later.” This is the first time a band member has given any sort of timeline for the new release, so this surely comes as good news to fans.

In the meantime, Followill is keeping busy with his new side project featuring Mona frontman Nick Brown, Smoke & Jackal. The band recently released their debut EP, called “EP1,” and fans can check out every single track from the release via a stream on the band’s official website

I for one am ready! We dedicated fans have been very patient and our patients is about to pay off! We are still waiting for your prize and have faith that the boys will come through for us! We were told some good news but I cannot release that news until we are sure it's going to happen! This is nothing about the band, this is good news for our tour pass.
Hopefully we will have the money to see at least one show! But for now we are trying to save for next year. If you want to help, then you can click on an advertisement (if you find one that interests you. 2013 is gonna be a great year...I can just feel it!

2012-10-09T17:49:00.002-07:00

Kings of Leon announced that they will be adding a new album to their already impressive list of great albums!

At the Grammy's, their fourth time being invited, Caleb said that he is writing new material and that they would all be getting together in the next couple of months to get started laying the tracks! They have been on break since their last tour which ended in Australia . I for one am glad to see them taking a long beak and hope that it will lead to great material for their next album!

As a fan I am a bit disappointed that they have not done anything to ease me and the rest of their U.S. fans since they did cancel the whole U.S. leg of their tour! But even though they haven't I am still just as much a fan as I was when they were at the top of their game! I guess since My wife and I still have our tour pass that I just want to know whether or not they are going to tour this year. If not then I can start planning a different vacation!

Part of me, and I mean a very small part of me wants them to wait till 2013 to tour so we can have more time to save since we basically went broke from all the prepaid hotel rooms... that we didn't get to use since there was no refund for cancellations... no matter what the circumstances! I just wish I hadn't prepaid but in doing so I was able to cut $20 dollars off of each night. This money was suppose to help us pay for all the gas! I actually worked very hard to squeeze every dime we had saved and ended up being able to add three more shows that we originally weren't going to be able to afford! We had all our meals planned out and many of them included Ramon noodles! haha

I guess no one could have foreseen what actually did happen and even though we lost all our savings, I can't hold a grudge towards Caleb or anyone from the band! Life happens for each of us and if Caleb did need help then he deserves it! No one knows for sure except those close to Caleb and of course Caleb himself Anyone who has a disease such as alcoholism

Below, I copied all that I could find on the new Kings of Leon concert in Brazil. Looks like this will be just one of these types of shows for the boys of KOL. I am wondering if Caleb will be wearing his Levi jacket down there in Brazil where I am sure it will be hot! lol

Kings of Leon to Play Planet Earth festival 2012

2012-06-27T06:08:00.000-07:00

According to this site Musicaterra.com, KOL will play at the Brazilian Festival on 20 Oct (NOT confirmed by KOL.com yet but Most of the Brazilian Media (MTV, RollingStone etc) are reporting that KOL have indeed been confirmed as headliners at the festival.... still no official confirmation from KOL.com

So far, this is all the news I have on this, thanks to our fearless leader over at ClosertoKol.com! As soon as it is confirmed I am sure that ClosertoKol will be the first to know and I will pass the news on to you!

We were really hoping for a U.S. show seeing how we all lost out last year but let's just hope the boys are just warming up for another multi nation tour! But the most important thing now is to put all your efforts into getting us some PLANE TICKETS TO BRAZIL! lol Anyone have a few extra round trip tickets laying around that they don't need? haha

2012-04-21T09:23:00.001-07:00

Boy does this make me excited! I am pretty sure that with the inside news that I have that we won't be seeing KOL live this year but we could have a new album! I am just hoping for either! Maybe a new album would help heal the wounds of our loss!

Kings of Leon's 2nd place winners, 'Road to Slane Castle' forgotten

2012-03-07T08:47:00.000-08:00

Well it looks like we will never get our prize from Kings of Leon , MTV , Superglued , or Poptolife (the marketing and promotion people who handled the prize distribution)!

We are the winners of a contest called Road to Slane Castle a contest with the top prize being an all expense paid trip to Ireland to see Kings of Leon play live and a 2nd place prize being a tour pass to all 30 KOL shows here in the U.S., along with other prizes of band equipment!

After several emails to my contact with poptolife, they just tell me that they are waiting for Kings of Leon to ad another U.S. tour! I am sorry, but these people could have done something for all that we lost due to the tour being cancelled!

We are a working poor couple, who save very hard for the one thing we both enjoy and that is seeing Kings of Leon in concert! We realize that they cannot make Kings of Leon ad another tour until the boys are ready but they could at least help us with the cost of all our hotels and other money we spent in anticipation the tour pass! We pre-paid for 14 hotel rooms (which means no refund) only because we were able to get Candlewood Suites to give us a $30 dollar a night break on each stay!

We didn't want to let something as special as this go to waste! We even asked if we could give all but 2 of the shows away but we were told we couldn't give the tour pass to anyone! We didn't want the other people in the contest, to think we just wasted a great gift by not going to as many shows as possible! Of course, we also wanted to see as many shows as we could afford! We cut every corner we could to save for these shows only to end up losing our entire savings!

I know that two thousand dollars might not be a huge savings to some people (like the boys from KOL seeing as how they actually spent that much on one bottle of wine) but this was everything to us!

All of this doesn't even take into consideration the money we lost taking off of work! We tried to get put back on the schedule but were not able to so we each lost two paychecks and if it weren't for us having vacation time it would have been three weeks!

Things like this do not come every day for people like most of us so when it does I think anyone would have done as we did! This was the most excited we had been in a long time! We don't go out to eat or out to the movies as a lot of people do because we simply cannot afford to, so when you lose money that took you 5 years to save it really is a very hard blow! I think we have both been very nice to our contact with poptolife so you would think they would try and do something to help us out!

I am starting to feel like they are taking advantage of us! Maybe I am wrong but if it were either one of us (in our contacts shoes) then I know we would be talking to MTV or Kings of Leon to see what kind of help we could provide for a couple of fans, who have lost everything because of them cancelling their tour!

Maybe I am just upset at the moment but I think anyone would be if they were in our shoes! What do you think? Would you do all you could to help out a couple, if you were in their shoes?

Kings of Leon at Rod Laver Arena ,Melbourne, Vic, Australia on Nov 16, 2011 (setlist, news, video)

2011-11-18T09:11:00.001-08:00

Well I can see through all the video's on youtube that this was a crowd that knew all of kol's songs! I told my wife this would be a great show to go to as I have a lot of friends on the internet that live near Melbourne,Australia or are going to the show! This is probably where I would go if I had a chance to go to Australia! I heard from a lot of fans that could not believe this band ever had problems this year as they played like the rock stars they have become, though they do not like to be labeled as such!

I noticed that all their stage equipment was with them as well and after the few stripped down shows in Canada, that is a great sight to see! I went to google maps to see Rod Layer Arena so I could get a better feel for where the boys from Kings of Leon would be playing and it looked to be a big arena! I also noticed a stadium close to this one that was even bigger! Seeing that stadium made me wonder if Caled and the boys were able to watch a real a real game of football called rugby! Since they love college football and their Oklahoma Sooners! Maybe they even meet some of the big time players and got to see the huge stadium! Of course they might even have had some of the players watching their show! haha makes ya wonder! They did get this picture! Nathan has said he loves to golf and has been in a contest or two! Jared must have been off somewhere planking!! haha or I guess the new thing now is Tebowing! What will they think of next?

Tweeted by Nathan: “Handsomeville population 4. Boomer Sooner” | Caleb, Nacho, Nathan and Chris | President’s Cup, Melbourne (17 Nov 11)

Lead singer Caleb Followill admitted he had been quaking in his boots five years ago when the US rock group played the arena, supporting Pearl Jam.

"I don't think I've ever been so terrified as I was then waiting to come on," he told the crowd. "But I'm not afraid any more."

The Use Somebody band have been living it up in Melbourne.

After catching up with Joe and Tony Hachem after the show, they ended up back at Crown playing poker until late.

I don't know about you all but I would have loved to run into them at the Crown while they were playing poker! I do have a few friends that did run into them at a bar in Indianapolis, Indiana back in 09. I guess the boys were down stairs in this bar so my friends didn't get to hang out or anything but the boys were really nice to them and they even got a picture with each of them!

Even though we spent the day with them during the filming of 'Back Down South' we were not able to get any pics with the band or anyone else! We did get to take plenty of pictures of them and tons of video as that was what we were told to do, when they gave us all the kodak playsport camera's!

Thanks to a few awesome fans who took the time to actually take video, we can now enjoy that moment in time! I love to live through the video's of shows I have not been able to attend. Here is one from a youtube user who's channel is called DBJ190. Thank you dbj190 for posting! We all know it is hard to stop rocking at a kol show and it is even harder to hold still while filming so what you took was pretty good!

Everyone seems to be really having a blast and I can only imagine what it was like to be there! One day we will hopefully get to join in on the Australian side and rock from down under!

I love how all of the fans (in this next video) sing along with Caleb! I have been to shows where the majority of the people only knew 2 songs and if you are reading this then I probably don't have to tell you which ones! haha Here is another video of 'Revelry'

And if these songs weren't enough they actually played one of my favorites ....Fans !
I was so jealous of these fans when I saw the setlist as they didn't play this at our last show and I was really thinking they would do to all of the old songs they had been playing! I think this is a little look at what we might expect at our shows coming up in their next tour. But like I have been saying for awhile now...I believe they will be taking the 6 months off to get back into the studio and record more! Though I think they will take next summer 2012 and actually do the make-up tour for us guys here in the US! I think we will hear some of their new songs then but I don't think it will get released till the end of the year or possibly 2013. But we will all just have to wait and see! Here is the fan video of 'Fans'

And here is the setlist ! Sorry I do not have the time to flip it or I would! maybe later!
I hope the fans enjoyed this set because I know I would have loved it!

Well all in all I think the fans were treated to a great show! When Kings of Leon returns it should be with some new songs and a tuely refreshed attitude. I just hope we have the money to be able to visit all the shows we would have this year with our tour pass! I am hoping for a new job or to win the lottery! Until then I will just have to work at the job I have and hope for a miracle.

Kings of Leon Setlist, video & review for concert at Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Hindmarsh Sa, Australia on Nov 11, 2011

2011-11-13T04:27:00.001-08:00

I noticed that no one had even written a review of Kings of Leon's 11-11-11 show in Adelaide, South Australia so after talking to a few fans I will do my best! It looks like the boys are back and stronger than ever and Caleb seems to be actually enjoying himself! Most usually he doesn't dance or move around that much but I have noticed though all the fan video's that he has been dancing and bopping around more than ever on stage! Of course most of us die hard fans will take it either way!

Back in October when the boys were in Canada they seemed to have stripped the stage of all the screens and went to a more basic stage presence but now it looks like all 6 video strips are back along with a few full video screens. Maybe they had problems with getting all their equipment to the past shows? They do have to tear down and set up at each show and with someone driving all their equipment to each show there can be troubles with the semi's or road work, etc that could have been the reason for their stripped down shows in Canada! Of course it also could simply be they just wanted to get back to the basic's after their break and did not want to add a lot of stress to an already stressful first few shows after returning! I for one am happy to see their stage back to full glory! (set-list below)

Here is a video of the show at Adelaide entertainment center in S. Australia on 11-11-11 what an easy date for fans to remember too! Nov 11, 2011 is a date I would have loved to be at! You can also check out some fan reviews on superglued.com by going here superglued

I did not realize how big the adelaide entertainment center that kol played at was so big but if you want to do a virtual tour then use this link! I will say one thing...this place looks beautiful and I would love to see it in person one day! Maybe when I am 70 I will be able to see the boys from kol here of course it won't be as special by then! haha here is the link below!

Kings of Leon new song 2011,2012

2011-11-10T10:30:00.001-08:00

(video below)
Kings of Leon will be taking a 6 month tour break, after their tour in Australia and it looks like they have already have a new song! You can hear parts of their new song in this video below! I love the raspy sound that only Caleb can produce.

KOL will finish their Australian tour then take their six month break, which should give them a chance to get into the studio and put some more songs together. I imagine Caleb and the boys have already started writing during their small break! I have always heard that most artists write some of their best songs during hard times in their life. ! Canceling the whole U.S. then having a lot of fans angry at them this year and not to mention all the employees who were working for both Kings of Leon and Band of Horses ,had to be hard on them all! So it is quite possible we could all be in for one of their best albums yet!

My wife and I are still waiting to hear from our contact with MTV over our lost tour pass! I think they are probably waiting on kol to give them their plans. We are sure they will be giving us another tour pass but we already lost so much on the pre-paid hotels that it will be hard for us to save what it will take to go this time around! Plus it will also be hard for me to get pre-paid rooms again which will help because they are a lot cheaper per night! We will just have to wait and find out! Hopefully we will have a lot of visitors to this blog and the people who do visit will see adz they like and click on them which will help us out as we get a little money each time someone does! If you are someone who wants to help out and you can afford to then please use the paypal donate button at the top! We would also like you to leave a message if you do decide to donate so we can thank you!

Here is their new song with more below

I hope that all the Australians enjoy both Kings of Leon and Band of Horses! And I hope that they get to hear Kings of Leon's new song. I know I cannot wait to hear kol's new song and hopefully by the time they get back to the US they will have more than just the one new song! I really do believe that we are all in for a great new album from Kings of Leon and I will waiting for that pre-sale of the new kol album!

I am also waiting for their tour mates band of Horses new album as they have been playing a couple of new songs and I cannot wait to here the whole album. I think we are all in for a treat because I have heard a few of Band of Horses new songs and there is one that is especially good! I think it will be their first single off their new album! We will just have to wait and see!

Rumor of a Kings of Leon makeup tour

2011-09-15T08:36:00.000-07:00

Well we are still waiting on the folks at MTV to let us know what they are going to do if anything for the loss of our King of Leon tour pass! (road to slane castle 2nd place prize we won) I hope there is money involved but I doubt it!

The fulfillment manger for our prize (Sasha) did send me an email yesterday stating that she just wanted to touch base. Sasha explained how that the people from MTV were reaching out to the band to see what their plans were and that rumor has it that kol is planning a makeup tour in the U.S.! Of course, this is just a rumor at this point! She also said, they (the band) were going through some internal struggles so who knows what that means! I personally think it will all be ok! I have a twin brother and we say and do things to each other that would freak most people out! But then the next minute we are laughing and all is ok so I do know how brothers fight and that the people around them can make a whole lot out of nothing!

I hope they do get their troubles worked out and come back refreshed in Canada. The only thing that worries me is that they already have a lot of shows lined up so I don't want them to add the whole US makeup tour too soon and end up in the very same place they are now!

The way Sasha was talking, MTV would give us another tour pass but what they don't realize is that we already spent the money we had saved! We are both working poor people who both are not even working in our fields due to the economy! I used to make 4 times what I make now and our savings was all put into the trip to Colorado, which we would'nt have gone on the trip if not for winning the tour pass! Now we are basically broke and when you get paid what we do it is really hard to save anything! I doubt if we could afford a tour pass even if it were 2 years out.

I really hope they give us some money along with the the tour pass but for some reason I really doubt it. This really hurts because I really wanted this for my wife who never asks for anything! I could'nt even afford to get her a real engagement ring so I bought her a stone ring at the animal rescue zoo that she loves to go to and told her this was just till I could afford a real one! Now, she wears that ring like it is the real one and says she doesn't want a real one now because that is her engagement ring! She is such a wonderful wife and I AM the luckiest guy in the world!

I just hope if they do another tour and we get another tour pass, that I can afford to take her! I don't ever get to do much for her other than love her and keep a roof over her head, so this would really be nice!

Here are some more pictures of our Colorado trip! We visited Bishop castle which is still being built! Jim Bishop has been building this with rocks and his hard labor for the past 45 years! This is proof of what one man can do with an imagination and hard work! He has no blue prints and he says if he makes a mistake he just calls it art! haha hope you enjoy though I doubt anyone is reading this due to I never see any comments!

Kings of Leon at Red Rocks 8-31-2011

2011-09-02T12:17:00.000-07:00

Well after a long drive (about 24hrs) we finally made it to Denver! The drive here was so amazing as I have never been to Denver so seeing the Mountains as you get closer was such a gift! I was really wanting to see some road runners as I have always heard they were out here but sadly we only saw one and it was on the side of the road and let's just say it won't be running anymore!
Our first day in Denver we decided to head out to Red Rocks since that was the main reason we had come out here! Driving into Red Rocks was so beautiful but sad at the same time as it reminded me of losing the tour pass to KOL and what a great show would would not be seeing. I decided to not let that keep me down so the first thing I did was park (outside of the hole that you drive through to get to the top of the red rocks amphitheater) and I climbed up a hill and planked on top of a big rock! -continues below pictures-

So we spent some time enjoying the beauty of Red Rocks, took some funny pics and thought a little more of what it would have been like to see our favorite 2 bands (Kings of Leon and Band of Horses) then we headed back to the hotel to plan our next days adventure.
On the way out though I wanted to get myself a keepsake rock so I pulled over and started to walk into the ditch and was quickly reminded (by a rustling in the tall dead grass and the glimpse of a snake), that I was not in Indiana and that just walking into a ditch here can get you bitten by a poisonous snake which could really ruin your day! Back to the safety of the car I went! haha I hate snakes and I could not agree more with KOL's uncle Cleo more when he said "the only good snake is a dead snake"! My own father has always said the same and thing and I completely agree with both! LOL

Check back tomorrow and I will have pics and video of our trip to Bishops Castle where I also planked on top of the Castle that was built by one man!

Man and wife lose 30 show tour pass to Kings of Leon through MTV, due to canceled tour

2011-08-23T21:52:00.000-07:00

If you don't know about the contest we won there is more info here kolcontest we were the 2nd place winners which was the tour pass to all 30 of kol's shows in the US for the summer of 2011 now canceled!

Here is our newest video with footage of the 2 seconds we were in the Kings of Leon video 'Back Down South' Hope you enjoy our little funny video!

I couldn't wait any longer so I sent my tour pass contact another message! Her name is Sasha and she works with a company called pop2life and to the best of my knowledge they take care of winners and other aspects of prizes and contests.

First of let me say how wonderful Sasha from pop2life has been! She has been really nice to me and I know she has been working hard to get an answer for me!

I won the tour pass through MTV and that is who Sasha has to wait on for my answer! She told me that the reason it was taking so long is the fact that this has never happened to them before! If you think about it how many times are a whole tour been canceled and of those times no one probably had a tour pass to all of the shows,so this probably has them all wondering what they should do. I just wished they would hurry up and decide!

Now that the tour is canceled me and my wife are stuck with hotels all over the US that we cannot get a refund from! The reason we cannot get a refund is because we pre-paid for our rooms way back in march or April so we could get the lowest rate possible but with that low rate came the issue of no refund no matter what the reason! Now we either have to go and try to enjoy ourselves or we stay at home and lose the money anyways! This really hurts us financially which we were ok with when we had the tour pass but now it is just more insult to injury!

We really do love Kings of Leon and we hope they all get the rest they need! That is why we haven't really gotten upset at the band because we are both hard working, but poor people and we know how hard the band has worked... without a real break! We just hope that we can go see them like we were going to this time! But we know the chances of that are probably slim to none at best! It makes me wonder if any of them know that we lost our tour pass! I do know that Jared said in an interview that he watched all the contestants videos that we all had to send in as part of the contest!

So we are going but since we were going to see the shows and that was all free, we didn't need any money to enjoy ourselves but now we do and we don't have it! I wish MTV would just give us the money that the tour pass was worth so we could at least enjoy our vacation! If we would have known we would not be taking our vacation in the places we are, we would have went somewhere of our choosing and it would have been cheaper to get a hotel for a solid week somewhere as opposed to all over plus all the driving we have to do!
I just hope we hit the lottery or something before we leave in 3 days! haha Maybe if we had the money we would see Band of Horses show in Denver but that would take away our gas money of getting home! This really bites!

Kings of Leon 2011 summer tour started!

2011-07-29T22:05:00.000-07:00

(Make sure you scrool down to see our twins video with our favorite Band of Horses song off their latest album Infinite Arms!)

Well the shows have started and we are in serious withdraw and in need for our KOL fix! We will not be able to use our tour pass for the first part of the tour due to not having enough gas money! Thanks to the 2 awesome internet friends and fellow fans who helped us out! Actually, their help is why we are able to go to the Indy show, which we were going to cut out, even though it is the closest show to us!

With the way the shows are set up and us living in Auburn,Indiana, it was back tracking! But the help we received enabled us to add the Indy show! We really are on a very tight budget so the help was a big win for us! Thanks again!

We will start using our kol tour pass by going to the Detroit show then back home to work the next day! (wanted to go to the Cincinnati show but cannot afford the gas money to add the show)

Next, we will head out for Chicago on Friday, where we will be able to see the show and then stay at one of my wife's twin daughters home. We will get up in the morning and also get to see our twin daughters and twin grand babies before we head out to Indy for the Saturday night show! I love Indy because every show we have been to rocked because the fans really get into it!! (We have nothing to do in Indiana so when we do... we all go crazy! haha

After the show we will drive all night towards Kansas where we will be waiting until Monday for the show! We will take in the sights seeing as how neither of us have ever been to Kansas! (Anyone know of anything cool to see in Kansas for free?)

After the Kansas show we will head out towards Colorado for both Red Rocks shows! We already have tickets for the first nights show because we have been planning and saving for a trip to Colorado for 2 years!

When we found out that Kings of Leon and Band of Horses (our other fav band) were playing red rocks, I about died! haha I have always heard that Red Rocks was one of the best, if not the best, venue in the U.S. and I knew we would have to see them there! We could only afford 1 show so winning the tour pass was great timing!

We would love to say we will be following the Followill clan farther but that is where our funds end! It is really great that we have already seen them and get to see them 6 more times this summer, but we would love to end our tour pass in Las Vegas, seeing as the show is on September 3,which is my birthday and we saw them last year on September 3 in Indy with The Black Keys! btw the keys blew us away and we became instant fans! So, if anyone has actually read this and wants to help out, we would really love to add the show and it would really help out in the making of our Kings of Leon live video! I have been collecting all types of kol video and when the tour is over I am hoping to have the video finished by thanks giving but definitely by Christmas!
Thanks to all again and make sure you follow the blog because we will be adding videos, reviews, setlist of each show as we go! If you are reading this then I know you are as excited as we are! Leave a comment if you would like to meet at a show!

Happy @followillfriday

driving to the back down south video shoot & up the lane

2011-07-04T21:40:00.000-07:00

We really saw some beautiful country scenery when we drove t the set of KOL's bds video shoot! I guess we cannot complain too much about not being able to use the tour pass to see all the shows seeing how we were picked to be extras in the video! We had a great time and look forward to seeing the guys again at Red Rocks on August 31 and september 1. Last year we saw them on sep3 in Indy and that was also my birthday so this year will only be 2 days early! Hope everyone enjoys the footage we took of getting to the beautiful property where the video was taken! The driveway to this place was like 2 miles long and seemed like we were driving up a mountain...well we were actually in the Smokey mountain foothills! haha enjoy
