Whether you are an aspiring singer, rapper, or dancer, the Internet as allowed YOU the ability to expose yourself to a whole new audience; no longer are we bound by just having a local or regional impression - we now can affect a whole coast, country, region, or continent.

Image is EVERYTHING, obey your thirst
As an artist, your image, your 'self' is now accessible 24 hours a day and around the clock. So, it has to be important that your self-image is very, very appealing. And that usually manifests in the form of a picture that expresses your character and personality; so whether you are on the block in your neighborhood, a park setting, a club, or embracing a loved one, your image must be able to give one a favorable impression and allow anyone to understand who you might be. So even though technology has done great things for society, do not use a web cam or a cheap digi cam to represent yourself, Digital SLR or SLR are the professional choices or a high resolution digital camera.

Biography
And your image can be posted on popular networking sites such a MySpace where not only can people view images of yourself or group, but they can get more informative and interactive details about you. This includes posting a biography about your progression and evolution as an artist. More times than not, the staff at the Kings of Music have spent countless hours revising and editing biographies because they were ....... pretty much ...... weak! Grammatical, spelling, and syntax errors were not only a concern, but just the overall content was very trivial and tired. Perhaps it is best that if you're an artist or group, you should seek the services of someone(s) who know how to write professional biographies, the bio is an important property of one's overall self-image, and it should be treated seriously.

Multimedia
You are only as good as you sound; and unfortunately or not, we live in a very subjective world with short, excuse me, very short, attention spans. So any audio track that you put out there, make sure that it is recorded properly. Yes, anyone can attach their microphone to the back of their computer and record sound, but its going to sound like exactly what it is - someone recording a song off their microphone computer. If image is everything, then your audio production quality has to be good to great quality; of course, we all can not afford the $1000/an hour studio's, but as an artist, you should do your part to get good audio quality. Same goes for videos, a music video recorded on a mini-DV cam will look like a music video recorded on a mini-DV cam. Get it?

So yes, the Internet has made the 'self', YOU, more accessible and has provided YOU with a plethora of tools and services to make your life easier. However, simplicity does not equate to quality, and one should always do their homework and research when deciding for themselves how they want to promote them-'self' ... make a wise decision when doing so because the 1st impression is usually the most lasting.

Peace.

Feature Story

Feature Story is coming soon!!!
