I can remember a few years back reading the Philadelphia Magazine in the barbershop saying I need to be in this magazine. I always considered myself as a fashion maven residing in the area so I knew that one day a kings dream would come true. Now 3 years later I had the pleasure of being featured in the March 2013 issue for  fashion highlighting “20 best dressed Philadelphian’s”. It was a honor to be recognized in such a notable level amongst many other fashionable people in the city of Philadelphia. As fashion is something I breathe, to be labeled as this in the city that I was born and raised in and carry it on my back everywhere I go is an honor and truly an amazing feeling.

From the outside looking in most people may not look at Philadlephia as a fashion city but I always told myself that I would change that. I see first hand the style, the culture and the creative direction Philadelphia brings to not only society but the world. I will continue to shine the best light through my vison the best way I can via Kings Rule Together. – K.R.T.

Recently I had the opportunity to travel to Schuttoff, Germany with a great friend of mine, singer/songwriter Corey Latif Williams. Some may not know but he was the first person who opened my eyes to using the word “King”. He explained why he used it and its empowerment to others by calling each other something with a greater meaning. Latif and myself became real close over the past years which I have been able to travel with him on many different occasions and styling him for all his endeavors. Luckily this time it was in a new country.

He is best  known for his writing skills for the likes of Philadelphia’s own Musiq Soulchild  ”teach me” and “deserve you more”, Faith “gone already”, Jo Jo “like that” as well as “damage” for Chris Brown.

Some may not know that he started the  ”Next Selection” label with Ryan Leslie years ago. Now for the first time in Germany they hit the stage performing their hit single “you think you know”.

Being that this was my first time in Germany I wanted to partake in every aspect of this city that I could. Had the pleasure of getting shown arround the city by a few of Latifs friends Dj Frizze and Klanpoet.

Kings Rule Together had the amazing opportunity to grace the stage at the biggest club in Germany which was “Club Index” and promote the brand globally. Being around talented artist such as Ryan Leslie and Corey Latif was truly inspiring and an experience of a lifetime.  Til this day I thank my good friend Latif for opening my eyes and allowing me to create a brand off of the wisdom he gave me. All Star Weekend was hosted this year in Houston, Texas. We were super pumped when we found out that arguably the best basketball player on the planet LeBron James of the Miami Heat had worn our K.R.T x NBHB “Kings Inspire Kings” collaboration pin, front row at the 2013 NBA  Slam Dunk contest.

For a man who refers to himself as “King James” it was the perfect fit. When you think of all of the young Kings and Queens he inspires nationally and internationally it reflects through his performance on and off the court. K.R.T would like to give a special shout out to celebrity stylist Rachel Johnson for introducing our brand to King James.
