It works pretty smoothly… Professionally done.
The only downside is the limited filters.

Since getting my new phone, I have been more inclined to go out for a run instead of the gym.

Why?

Because finally I get to track my running.

The new Iphone is just great, with the multitasking capabilities just made it a whole lot more amazing.

It is really a smart phone, I get to track my pace, my distance, my time, play my songs, map my route, guide my directions (GPS), and a whole lot more.

Let me start with Nike Sensor. I have always wanted one, but I couldn’t justify buying an ipod nano just to be able to get the sensor, or to get the nike bracelet. But, my lovely/wonderful/amazing/perfect gf got me my iphone. The first thing I did after getting back was to order the sensor. Had to buy an armband to go along. Can’t run holding the phone, or let it bounce away in the pocket. (too risky)

Searched online thru ebay, nike shops, but the cheapest was still Amazon. Got the whole set for around £20ish pounds.

The armband I found was iGadgitz Black & Silver Reflective Neoprene Sports Gym Jogging Armband for Apple iPhone 4. £7.

Saw the photos and I was sold! Looks pretty good, not too bulky and it comes with a slot for my house key/coins. No more annoying key/coin jiggling in the pocket.

Used it. It fits comfortably. A little tricky with the screen coz of the plastic protecting it, but I love it.

Now the apps!

Nike sensor is good because you get the sync it with the website, and it lets you track your distance, speed, time , set goals, set schedules, make or join challenges, and join a community of runners.

So after syncing with your sensor, an app will appear on the phone, and this is the screen.

What is so cool about it is the app is integrated to the phone, in the lock screen, if the home button is pressed. The music will soften and a voice will read out the distance, time, and pace. So you can just check how far you ran anytime without looking. REALLY COOL!

Pro:

• Integrated well with the phone system
• Accurate distance so far
• Awesome monitoring with sync

Cons::

• No easier way to change songs 0r playlist (to change songs you have to swipe to unlock and change, for playlist you have to go all the way out to the ipod app player)
• No GPS tracking

To solve the gps problem. I found another app that is great by itself. With the multitasking function of iPhone. Both systems can be running for optimum monitoring.

It is called ENDOMONDO.

It is also another sportish community. The app tracks the performance by using gps coordinates.

They have voiceover to  inform you when you reach a certain distance.

The best part of this is you get a map that maps out your route, and shows it in your work out history.

MAP IT!

Pros : Great app to track performance and tracking it visually with the map.
Cons: Not as integrated as nike app.

Lastly!! TomTom App.

Let us visualize how iphone is just great and how it just works. With Multitask function on iphone…all the apps are running while you run.

Wake up in the morning! Check Weather App for the weather or Weather Pro or Megaweather for more detailed timed weather report. It says sunny! you get ready to run!

Turn on Nike+ and Endomondo…start running.While listening to the radio via RadioTunes app or Spotify App. (or pandora in the US) or just the music on the phone.

See a beautiful view…take it out and take a photo or a video in hi-def.

Twit about it or facebook it in twitter app or facebook app, maybe reply a mail.

Continue running….You want to try a new route..you end up in a place you have no idea how to get back from…turn on TomTom App (a bit pricy but worth it)

This is what you will see..

Set it to your home, and get back to nike app while tomtom is running in the background and will tell you the direction to get home while you are running!

Crossed Charles Bridge… The bridge was packed with tourist…with stalls, artist painting portraits and music from band players.

Sat down on a bench for a little rest while I took these…wanted to try slowing down the shutter to get the tram with blur and the building in the background.

Went back to the bridge to check out a jewish area. Wanted to check out a very interesting spot the, The Jewish Cemetery.

It was pretty expensive to get a pass to visit the jewish area… It was some jewish synagogue and some jewish museum…was not interested in all those. Just wanted to see the cemetery. Had to pay for a package thing….Would have gotten a discount, but I left my student card back home. Showed that OLD jewish woman my passport with a big STUDENT visa sticker on it and she said no. I was pissed. what can I say……they know how to make more money…*COUGH*

The museum did not interest me at all, maybe due to the price of the ticket as compared to what was there. However, the cemetery was worth it.

It is 400 over years old, and it was massive with over-stacking tombs everywhere.

After that back to town…walked around and head home.

Thanks to the new Iphone, I made this with iMovie…I held it vertically..should have held it horizontally.

Very old building as well. Apparently it was bombed by the germans during world war and the building was actually bigger but got smaller due to the destruction. Anddddddd… as it was told…after making this, the clock maker was blinded by the king so he would not be able to make another. He committed suicide by jumping into the gears of the clock to wreck it.

Got back to the hotel….changed and went to Bellevue for our dinner. Awesome Anniversary Dinner!
Quite poor after that but worth every bit to see her smile.

Came out for a jog, since it is the second day with sun out of the whole week.

Can’t miss the opportunity to use my Nike Plus sensor.

Prague is a beautiful city rich with historical sights, there was so many things to do.

We were there for only 3 days, checked out most of the touristic spots and it was good.

Before going so many friends told me how cheap the beer and food is, but when I was there it WAS NOT that cheap.
Maybe I was unlucky and only ate at “tourist” restaurants.
The first one was a big CON JOB! It was a grilled chicken breast, and the waiter asked what side do I want, so he suggested chips and I went along with it. When it came it was a piece of chicken and chips, as described, but it was miserable.

The bill came and I GOT ANGRY, the chicken and the chips was not a set. Who the hell sells a dish with just a piece fried chicken on a plate.
The CHICKEN cost €5!~! and the fries was another €2 !! Was not worth it at all.
I thought €5 for a big chunk of meat with sides will be okie…but big rip off!….I FORGOT THE NAme of the SHOP, but I will google it and find the name and track it down and report it on tripadvisor!!

*Update*!! Found the restaurant on google street view..It is Restaurant U Dominikana,Prague. Wrote a review on tripadvisor! ! BAD REVIEW! Bad Miserable piece of Chicken Schnitzel

Anyways! most of the restaurants food was good and price was alright beer was around 69-90 czk around 2.5-3 euro…not as what my “FRIENDS” mentioned 1 euro for beer! maybe not where we went!

You most probably end up with the Purple screen and stuck at it.

Found out there is a way to Jailbreak thru iBooks using syncing thru Itunes.

However, I found a way to do it without Itunes or jailbreakme. Just with GoodReader.

This will work in Ipad 3.2.1 wifi (Works on mine)
Might work for iphones and itouch..but not tested!

What you need is!- Goodreader App
- Ibooks

These are the 2 things you will need.

Get on to GoodReader app, and click on Web Downloads-> Browse the Web

Type this link

You will see the list of devices and pdf files. Choose your device and click download the pdf file.

After Downloading the file.

Click Manage -> select open in

and Open in Ibooks. In Ibooks head to the pdf section.

Click on the white pdf, which will ask you to download and install.

After less than 1 min, you got your ipad or Iphone or itouch. Jailbroken!
My Cydia didn’t show up after the process.

I rebooted my ipad, and the Cydia icon showed up!

Update: It looks like you can just jailbreak it thru GoodReader. Just download and launch it on goodreader. (I did not do it this way so I’m not 100% sure)

Update 2: Saw some post with my link on it in Italian, apparently it did not work on his Ipad 3g. So I am not sure if it works or not, but I read that comex will come up with a patch for that. Sorry if your 3g doesn’t work.

I wanted a colour e-reader, and to be able to look at photographs and books. An added bonus with the capabilities of watching videos, listening to music, games, and other awesome functions.

So Ipad was the best option in the market for it. Kindle, nook and sony e-readers are good e-readers but just can’t compete with the other functions.

Haven’t updated in a while..so thought I post an blog about this app for the Ipad.

This would be considered the best e-reading app on Ipad. It is even better than Ibook, it is not as visually pretty as ibook, but function wise it is just packed with everything.

The best thing about it is it cost so little for the amount of benefits. So this is worth every penny!

It cost £0.59, by far the best app I bought from the apple store.

You can transfer documents using File Transfer itunes ipad app section, to the ipad. Formats such as Pdf , images, any text doc such as word or rtf.
Those files transfers really quickly.

GoodReader does it well being able to sort it out in the app itself.

You get to create folders, rename, password lock it, and many more.

Magazines + Books

As you can see, the girly e-magazines you can buy and load it in your GoodReader. It just makes it so handy on the go, to read it anywhere!
Business people can get economist, fortune and many more. Artsy people can get all the artsy magz..so anything goes!
PDF books looks great too.

Although its more presentable reading epub format in IBooks.

Esquire Magazine

One example of how it looks like on the ipad, tab the middle of the screen and you get the full screen of the magazine, and you can flip thru it.

Downloading documents on DropBox

One thing good about goodreader is that you can download your documents from you file servers. Servers that i Highly recommend is DropBox.
There are other services such as google reader, your own ftp, and others listed on the app.

You can sync your files thru all your computers, and link it with ipad and download your documents from ipad and save it in Goodreader to read it.

That is what I am doing for my Dissertation, reading all the journal articles on my Ipad. Really HandY!

BTW..Some idiot tried to steal my bicycle. It was locked to a pole just across the street I am working at, with the window facing directly at the bicycle. He tried breaking the plastic lock to break the metal lock section.
It was cold so I closed the window, hence couldn’t hear the sound of someone trying to rip the lock off my bike.

I AM ANGRY!!! That piece of shit stole my rubber handle, now it will be freaking cold to cycle in the cold cause of the metal bar.

Anyways…k back to the update..
