Thanks for your updates Fred. I contacted QUVL about a broken road name sign in Mildenhall Way and the one by the underpass and was promised a swift response, that was over two weeks ago now and nothing. Maybe you could add this to your list of areas for concern. Thanks

Two weeks ago I took up the issue of a barbed-wire fence on open ground close to Kingsway Primary School that was a danger to children in the area. The Citizen also took up the story. I am pleased to say that QUVL ,the developers, responded quickly to the problem and have started removing the barbed-wire today. Thank you QUVL

I moved your post here, which is (I think) what you were talking about.

I’m still planning to expand the site (although recent new contracts have prevented me from getting on with it) but I first need some help with advertising sales (to raise the revenue to fund the expansion).
If you’re interested in helping with that, please give me a call (or drop by) for more information… once I have that (and a few other things) in place I’ll talk more to you – and grahamc – about the site development

Hi Baz,

Thanks for this summary which I know you covered at the recent RA meeting. Found out there was another accident today on our A38 junction which reminded me about the Access issue which I know you have raised. Am I right in thinking emergency services would use the constructors route into the Village should this entrance be blocked due to an accident?

It also occurred to me that given we are part of a larger construction site, and that this sector has quite a poor safety record relative to other sectors, access should addressed on an urgent basis.

What do you think?

Hi Clive,

Have just joined the Blog and found a post from last year where you mention something about wanting people with web development and sales experience. Then I recall Baz and yourself mentioning it after the first resurrection of the RA. I work for the County Council and am responsible for a number of web sites and data bases (mainly from a Project Management perspective). I wonder if my skills and contacts could be of some benefit for the local community…and to my bank balance ;o)

It an earlier post, I promised to let residents know of developments in improving Kingsway as they become known to me. I am pleased to say that my intervention with relevant parties over the disgraceful state of the brook by Domino’s has produced a good result. The Owners agents are cleaning it up today. I went over earlier to observe the work and it is looking good. The area is clean, the water is flowing and we have a committment to keeping it that way. Moreover, the fence is going to repaired though I am pressing the agent’s for a date to complete this work. Last week I also raised concerns about barbed wire fencing on open ground near the school and pleased to report that QUVL is looking at this matter today. Lastly, for now, I reiterate my earlier advice about calling the City Council helpline if you see abandoned shopping trolleys cluttering up the area. The Council has reviewed its policy and if you use this process, it gives the store 4 hours to recover the trolley. If it doesn’t the council will collect and crush the trolley. At about £200 per replacment this is a good incentive to act quickly!
