OK. I've bought some space with another web host, moved everything over, upgraded to the latest version of the forum software and re-pointed the kinkyg.com domain to the new site. Hopefully everything is now back up and running for you all and you can kick the tires and have a play.

Please be aware that there are some issues with the new site:

YouTube links from before the migration are not embedded correctly. This means that the video does not play within the post itself and you'll just see the link. I'm working through these manually (to fix, you just edit the post, then save it without making any changes!), but there are so many of them! If you've posted any YouTube links before, it would be wonderful if you could help me by going through your posts and doing the same. I'll get there in the end, it just may take a few days.

Some people's avatar graphics (profile pictures) are stretched. This is due to the upgrade setting everyone's pre-existing avatar size to 100x100 pixels. Ostensibly this is to prevent people linking to massive graphics and mucking up the forum look, but it wasn't necessary for us, and I'm having to - once again - manually go through editing people's profiles when I spot one. To do this yourself, go to the User Control Panel (top-left), click the Profile Tab, then Edit Avatar; then enter the actual size of your avatar image in the boxes provided.

The Thanks feature is not present. The mod was only compatible with older versions of the forum software. I still have the data in a backup of the database, and I'll actively investigate whether a compatible alternative exists for the new version. Until then, I'm sorry that this has gone, but it was necessary to perform the migration.

I hope that if you encounter any more issues, you'll raise them with me and also be patient as we all test out the new features and get used to the changes. I also hope that the move to a different hosting company will see the end of the problems that have plagued the forums for the last few weeks and months.

Can I also take this opportunity to thank all the forum contributors for their fantastic posts and to all those who wrote and offered help or words of support. It's been a very trying time, and I would have probably jacked it all in if it weren't for you lot.

Forums Down...again

The company which hosts my forums is having yet more difficulties keeping the site up for more than five minutes at a time. I'd like to apologise for the interruption, especially as I imagine many of you are looking for an alternative to the endless World Cup coverage on your tellyboxes. I've raised yet another support ticket, had a response (although I imagine 'a technician is investigating' could mean anything - is he/she actually qualified, or just pressing random buttons hoping for the best?), and I'm actively investigating ponying up for another host ahead of my subscription renewal date. No, I don't want to be paying out twice just because my original choice went from great and uber-reliable to near-useless in a matter of days, but I really don't want any more downtime.

Anyway, stay tuned. I'll tweet any progress. You are following me right?

As you've probably gathered from the lack of updates recently, the blog has been on the back burner while I sort some things out and try to get back into a situation where I actually have some free time. In the interim, I thought I'd give twitter a go. It should allow me to respond more quickly to news and update you on forum and blog stuff, too. Forums Down

As you may already know, the forums have been down for a few days. I'm very sorry about this, but the web hosting company that I'm with has seriously let me down. Basically they migrated the forums to a new server and neglected to copy the database. I'm currently scrambling to get the database transferred myself after their support team proved to be less than helpful. Hopefully I should have things back up and running soon.

By the way, can anyone recommend a decent hosting company that doesn't cost the earth? :D

Zooey is younger sister of fellow actress Emily Deschanel. Emily is the female lead in lighthearted drama Bones, a show on which Zooey has also cameoed. Zooey (pronounced Zöe) has carved out her own niche, however, in a variety of film roles. Although initially somewhat stereotyped as the kooky friend thanks to her natural comedic ability and deadpan delivery, her versatility has been on show increasingly in recent years, culminating in a sterling performance in one of my favourite movies of the year - the superb (500) Days of Summer - alongside another accomplished young performer, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Zooey also sings and plays several instruments, releasing a highly regarded CD last year with her band She and Him.

I just love this image of Zooey in a corset dress. And, yes, if you need to ask how much it is, you can't afford it ;)

Carla has had a prolific career, starting as a child actress in TV shows such as Falcon Crest and The Wonder Years. Since then, she's worked consistently in both films and popular TV fields. Arguably, she broke into the big time in 2001 with two hit movies, The One and Robert Rodriguez's Spy Kids. Most recently she has appeared in Zack Snyder's Watchmen (she featured on the blog here in her kinky superheroine guise) and the latest Disney Witch Mountain film.

TinEye - Reverse Image Search

Have you ever discovered an old image on your hard drive and wondered where on earth you'd downloaded it from? Or maybe you're a quality addict like me and suspect that there are HQ copies of your favourite celebrity pics that you'd love to track down? (You know, so you can send them to KG and make him happy.)

Well, the answer to your prayers is TinEye, the 'reverse image search engine' from idée. You upload a source image (or give it the location of one on the web) then it tracks down similar pics that it's indexed and analysed. It can find matches even if they're different sizes, obscured by text, mirrored, cropped or rotated. It's infinitely superior to the limited 'related search' in Google Image Search or similar offerings from other vendors and is truly game-changing technology. Goodness knows how they do it, but it's a fantastic (and free) tool that I've already used to answer questions on the forums.

The only issue is that currently they 'only' have a billion images processed and the index size hasn't been expanded for a while now. If you're after recent photo shoots, you're out of luck. Still, give it a try and be sure to drop me a line if you come across anything you think should be shared with the rest of the kinky community. And be sure give the fascinating blog a read too; it includes entries on tracking down The Everywhere Girl, exposing fakes and other detective stories.

Back From the Brink

It's been a tough few weeks, thanks to some personal stuff and having to get a new phone line, but I'm back online now, albeit with a very limited connection. Thanks to a foul up by BT, my bandwidth is a third of what it should be at the moment, so I'm not able to do as much as I'd like online. I can pretty much forget downloading that new series of Dexter... ;)

Popular British pop combo Girls Aloud are about to premiere their new video (tonight, 11:05, Channel 4 UK), and it looks like it's going to be another kinky corker. Lily Allen may have been in the press for her off-stage antics more often than her singing career recently, but despite all the negativity, her new album and it's first single have topped the charts here in the UK. It's not difficult to see the appeal of this cheeky individual and her music which combines catchy tunes with often scathing and intelligent lyrics. And speaking of cheeky, these shots from a recent concert at London's G.A.Y. club show Lily's perky bottom to the full.

Blog Status

As you may have noticed, the blog has been on hiatus for the past few weeks. I'm sorry that I haven't kept you updated, but real life stuff has taken up most of my energies.

However, I wanted to make sure that you knew that the blog is still going and to promise that I will try my best to post more regularly from now on (well after a short Christmas break that is!). My life's getting back on track after some recent setbacks and I hope to be able to contribute more here and on the forums in the future.

Before I sign off I also want to wish you all a Happy Christmas. Here's to a great start to '09!

Scarlett Johansson - nurse uniform

Apologies for the small size of these images, but they're just costume test shots for the forthcoming The Spirit movie. Regular readers will know that I can't resist seamed stockings, so these really caught my eye. The PVC trim on the bra is also a nice kinky touch.

As for the movie adaptation itself, well, Frank Miller is directing and it looks like it will be employing the same hyper-stylised visuals as Sin City, his previous outing; so at the very least, it will be a feast for the senses.
