The Cloud Kiss partners multiple movements and stimulation types into a single toy. It provides a swirling tongue, a mouth that tightens and opens, vibrations, and light suction.

For discretion and easier travel, the Cloud Kiss has a magnetic lid that turns the toy into a large, oval egg, slightly larger than the size of a vitamin supplement bottle. This lid snaps on with a magnetic clasp and works flawlessly. This is how sex toy lids should be designed. I’ve never had it pop off accidentally (so the magnets are strong enough), but a light tug takes the lid off in seconds. No annoying clasps to worry about.

The Cloud Kiss is also equipped with a pre-heating functionality which warms the vibe up slightly before use. It is a very light warming; I’ve felt some sex toy pre-heating that feels like sliding into a warm bath. This one feels a bit more like putting on a sweatshirt. It’s slightly warmer than it started, but I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s worth putting time waiting for the pre-heat in order to use the toy. After 5 minutes, it still only feels slightly warmer than when it started. My fingers can tell a difference. My crotch cannot.

Joylume Cloud Kiss Review: Is It Like Oral Sex?

Like this entire new wave of “tongue” sex toys, the Joylume Cloud Kiss‘s marketing claim is that it replicates oral sex.

In theory, I’d actually say that the Cloud Kiss is as close as I’ve seen a sex toy get. I’ll admit that adding in all of these features made the sex toy a bit…comically-odd looking, but I think all of those pieces working together makes it one of the closest approximations to oral sex that I’ve seen in a sex toy.

You have a swirling tongue in the middle of the Cloud Kiss. That does exactly as it shows; it swirls in circles. It’s noticeably smaller than a real tongue, but the movement itself can be replicated in a human mouth.

Surrounding that swirling tongue, you have a gigantic pair of “lips”. Those lips move a couple of centimeters in and out, surrounding the clitoris. This really replicates the micromovements a mouth would make the person focuses on using their tongue to provide the bulk of the pleasure.

Finally, the Cloud Kiss is also equipped with suction. This does a pretty solid job of replicating the real-life feel of someone attaching their lips onto you and providing a bit of hollow suction. The Cloud Kiss’s white lips have a bit of plushness to them, allowing the sex toy’s “mouth” to continue its movement without breaking the seal of the suction. (The suction is actually pretty impressive! It’s gentle enough that you can “pop!” it away from the body but strong enough that you definitely notice a difference in pleasure when using the Cloud Kiss without it.)

So, theoretically, the Cloud Kiss is the closest sex toy replication of oral sex I’ve ever seen.

In practice, all of those pieces work together exactly as I was hoping.

The flicking tongue flicks, giving you small, light touches to the clitoris as the toy is in place.

The mouth opens and closes, offering sensation around the clitoris too – including on the clitoral hood if you have it positioned as such.

Finally, that suction works too, providing a pleasurable level of gentle sucking within anything that’s in the mouth. You can easily “break” the suction easily by giving the toy a gentle tug, but it’s strong enough to help hold the toy in place and really draw your parts into the Cloud Kiss’s mouth.

Let’s Talk Pleasure

As I was setting up for this Joylume Cloud Kiss review, I was pretty excited. All of the sex toy’s functions seemed like they could partner together for some pretty explosive sensations.

And honestly, they do partner together pretty well.

They just partner together in a way that’s relatively gentle – and maybe not necessarily compatible with how I like my oral sex.

When I receive oral, I like to have long, broad strokes against my clitoris. To get closer to orgasm, I really enjoy firm pressure with back-and-forth sensations. That pressure, as I climb to orgasm, seems to be vital to my enjoyment – whether I’m using a vibe, a human mouth, or grinding on an inanimate object.

The Joylume Cloud Kiss felt fantastic to start. The suction feels delicious without being overwhelming, and even when completely unaroused, the flicking tongue was gentle enough to be pleasurable, with direct contact, when I first turned on the toy. I really loved my first 10 minutes with the toy.

The problem was trying to reach orgasm.

It just doesn’t have the sensations I need to orgasm. The tongue’s tip doesn’t feel like it provides enough pressure, and because the mouth is (quite literally) stopping me from getting the tongue closer to myself, I can never quite get the pressure I need for easy orgasms.

Through a month of Joylume Cloud Kiss review trials, I did manage to orgasm each time I used the toy, but I’ll admit, they were a bit hard-fought. Honestly, it did remind me of receiving oral sex with a lover. You know, when it feels good, but it’s not “quite” what you’re used to to get off, so you’re really focusing on orgasming with the sensation you’re being given? It felt like that.

Twice during my review trials, I was experimenting to see if I could get closer without the suction. Turns out, though, if you want just the suction off, you must fully turn the entire toy off.

Since the suction button also functions as the “power” button, if you try to only turn off the suction, it’ll simply turn off the full toy. If you’re someone who knows you’ll need to toggle the suction on and off as you get close to orgasm, this is something important to note.

It’s a pleasurable toy, but it’s better for me as a warm-up option. If you’re someone who does well with lighter pressure, though, this has the soft range to start you as a warm-up toy without a problem.

As a really impressive surprise, though, the Cloud Kiss sex toy NEVER locked up. No matter how hard I was pressing it against myself or how I had it positioned, it never jammed or stopped its movement. It always kept chugging along.

This is a Noisy Boi

According to the sex toy specs, the loudest the Cloud Kiss gets is 55 decibels, on-par with the sound of rain or an everyday conversation.

That’s about accurate.

However, it’s WHAT that sound is that’s making it less discreet. It isn’t just a loud hum. Due to all of the moving parts, the Cloud Kiss makes a lot of different noises. The suction area has a strong “suck in” partnered by an audible release. The tongue swirling and mouth makes a constant squealing noise.

If discretion is the utmost priority, you’ll have to be very careful with the Cloud Kiss. The noise is just too oddly unique, and it’s going to encourage someone to investigate what’s going on.

I’d categorize the toy as constantly going “squeaKEY, squeaKEY, squeaKEY” while a loud thrum sucks in and releases at a rhythmic pace.

It isn’t a constant loud noise that can fade into the background like a refrigerator or aid conditioning unit. The constant changing of pitch, partnered with the squeaking, will be a noise that someone will investigate.

It’s audible outside of a closed door on the lowest settings in a quiet house. On the medium to highest settings, even with music, some of the squeaking can be heard outside of a closed door.

Not every sex toy has to be discreetly quiet. This one just isn’t.

The noise does not get any quieter during use. It sounds exactly as loud as it is throughout your play session. I ended up having to turn up my porn in order to hear it over the sex toy’s noise.

The Control Buttons

The Cloud Kiss has two buttons on it.

One button controls the power and suction functionality. Press and hold to turn on the toy, and single press to increase the suction intensity/power.

(This is also the pre-heating functionality. Press and hold to turn on the Cloud Kiss, and then double-press the same button, and the button will turn red while the toy pre-heats itself. It does NOT perform any of its functions by default while pre-heating, allowing the toy to stay silent while it warms itself up before use.)

The other button controls the wiggling intensity of the mouth and tongue and the vibrations. All three of these sensations (movement of tongue and mouth plus the vibrations) are tied together on this single button.

Because these two functions are located on different buttons, you can independently control them. If you don’t want suction, don’t turn on the suction. You can also increase the intensity of one (the tongue with the lips with vibrations, for example) while leaving the suction at the same setting.

These buttons are relatively small compared to the entire surface of the Cloud Kiss, and they require a decent level of pressure to get them to activate. When your hand is free of lube and you’re staring at the toy, it’s no biggie.

When the toy may be covered in lube (or bodily fluids because you’re having a good time), these buttons can be difficult to press. They have required a two-handed press multiple times during this Joylume Cloud Kiss review period because I couldn’t get a single hand to apply enough pressure to push down the button.

Larger buttons, with an easier-to-press design, would help tremendously here.

Joylume Cloud Kiss Review: Let’s Talk Handling

Oval-shaped toys like this can be hit or miss for me. Sometimes, they feel too slippery and odd to keep in my hands, and other times, they can feel comfortable.

I’m happy to report that the Cloud Kiss stays really comfortably in my hand for one-handed use.

It really helps when you have the suction turned on. While the suction isn’t “pussy pump” level of suction, it does have enough of a suction that it helps keep the toy in place. The suction won’t hold it in place on its own, but it does mean your fingers need to do less of the work.

Because of the mouth’s design, the Cloud Kiss can also be pressed pretty firmly up against your vulva. The motor never jammed, no matter how firmly I pressed it up against myself. Being able to actively push it into myself helped with handling too, and I think this is primarily why it’s so stress-free to hold.

Unless I was actively trying to read the LED display (then I had to pull it away from myself), at no point was I fidgeting or fussing with handling. It just felt seamless. On occasion, for a particularly tough button press, I might have to use a second hand to help hit a button (which wasn’t my favorite).

If you’re playing with a lover, the Cloud Kiss has a small LED display on the top of the toy. This display shows the battery level and two numbers. Each number corresponds to the intensity level that that particular setting is at. For example, a “1” and a “4” (which will look like “14” on the toy’s display) will mean that the mouth/tongue is on setting “1” while the air suction is on setting 4.

These numbers are facing AWAY from the person the toy is being used on, so I’d assume they’re there for partnered use.

This can be pretty helpful for partnered play, though. If this is a toy you’ve primarily used solo and you know what you like, you can easily hand it over to a partner and say “I like 25”, and they can set it up to setting 2 and setting 5 with ease. It’s a good system.

App Control Functionality

For this Joylume Cloud Kiss review, I did not test any of the app control or AI functionality. However, it is something that Joylume built into the toy, if you’re interested.

There are two pages in the included instruction manual in English that provide a QR code and very basic information about what the app can offer (including an AI novel, AI image, remote control, video synchronization, voice control, and long-distance control).

If you don’t want to connect it to a cell phone app, the physical, mechanical pleasure portions of the toy are all still accessible via the two buttons on the body of the sex toy.

A Good Travel Friend

While we’re here, I really want to call out Joylume on a fantastic travel design. It’s absolutely amazing.

The Joylume Cloud Kiss has a lid that easily fastens with the two magnets built into it. The case pops on in seconds (no fasteners), and it’ll come off just as easily with a firm tug of an unlubed hand. I’ve never had it just fall off while in luggage or jostled around though. It’s the perfect level of magnetism.

With that lid on, the Cloud Kiss turns into a giant, plastic, white glossy “egg”. It’s not a known-looking object, so people would explore it if they found it, but at first glance, it doesn’t have any sort of “IM A SEX TOY” look about it.

Since the buttons require that firm touch to turn on, I’ve never had the toy accidentally turn on during travel either. For added safety, the Cloud Kiss also comes with a drawstring storage bag you could tuck the vibe into. This is one of the few toys where I think the drawstring bag is unnecessary though. It does a great job protecting itself and staying fastened without it.

The included drawstring storage bag will easily fit the charging cable and instruction manual, though, for keeping all the accessories together.

Best Sex Doll for Realistic Detailing

The Yeloly Tonya has to take the top spot for realistic details. A silicone sex doll, the level of detail in this love doll is literally unbelievable. After owning quite a few sex dolls, I’m finding that we’re essentially searching for the holy grail. We love having “life size” dolls, but we simultaneously hate moving around “lifesize” sex dolls. Moving something that’s 70 pounds is NOT an easy feat – especially when it’s wet and wiggly after going into the shower for cleaning.

Honestly, I’d love to see this body type (and more) on the majority of sex dolls; the “perfectly toned stomach with perfect hips” is fun for a bit, but when it’s the only body type sex dolls represent, it gets a little…one note.

Not for Beginners

No part of this anal plug’s sizing is designed for beginners. The “Small” version, which is the smallest, has a diameter of 2.1″. This is 0.6″ wider than the average biological penis. It doesn’t sound like much in numbers, but I promise, it looks huge next to an average boner.

That being said, the MEO.de Full Load Butt Plug is not for beginners. No size of the plug will be friendly if you aren’t already taking wide toys. If you’re only having anal sex with a partner, this plug will likely still be too wide for you.

This is further supported by the fact that the plug is essentially spherical. There is no gently tapered, conical tip to help you slowly insert it. Instead, the plug essentially goes from 0 to 60 as soon as you press it up against your hole. There’s no warm-up. It goes from the smallest part of the plug to the widest within the span of 0.5″ of length.

Jeez, this plug is huge. It’s a given from the measurements, but it becomes a new “monster” when you hold it in your hands and see the sheer size.

With that in mind, this is not a butt plug we can go from 0 to “inserted” with. Before we can use this plug, he has to stretch out with other, smaller toys to get ready for a toy of this size. This is not a casual “I wanna go out and tease you; pop in the plug!” type of anal toy. This is something that requires a half an hour of anal stretching, minimum, before we can slide this plug in for whatever our plans are.

Keep that in mind if you’re hoping to use this for casual wear. It works amazingly (as we’ll talk about) for public play, but it does have a warm-up period before you can actually wear it outside.

Once you get this anal toy in there, though, goddamn. The size and the intentional, forward-leaning curve make this plug a prostate magnet. We just slide it in, and the whole thing provides prostate stimulation with every step he takes. If the toy was just a little bit heavier, I think nestling this thing inside him would make it too overwhelming for him to even walk.

Butt Plug Harness Compatibility

A quick look at the base of this anal plug shows an oval-shaped hole on either end of the base. These built-in holes are designed for secure butt plug harness use.

Essentially, if you have a harness, you can run a between-the-thighs strap through these two holes, securing this plug onto the harness strap itself. Not only does this keep the strap in place exactly where you want it (and not sliding off to the side), but it also does a better job of keeping the plug inside the body.

Adding some really nice durability, both of these butt plug harness holes have been internally reinforced with plastic. That means the holes don’t really stretch out. If you’re going to use a harness with it, you’ll need to feed your harness strap through the hole exactly at the at-rest size that it is.

The hole is 0.5cm by 1.5cm. It’s wide enough that you can get a folded-over standard nylon strap through the hole, but it isn’t going to be easy to do so. MEO.de specifically recommends it for use with their FULL LOAD Butt Plug harness that offers tiny, thin elastic straps that would fit really easily through these holes.

While this plastic reinforcement drastically increases the durability of these holes (compared to the Nothosaur iPony where I worry about the material ripping with overuse), it does make feeding harness straps through here much more annoying. You take your trade-offs.

First, What Sex Toy Material is Your Toy Made From?

Lemme give you a little lesson in sex toy materials. Don’t let your brain cloud over. I promise, this relates to how to clean the ass smell off a butt plug! Your sex toy’s material is going to give us a pretty good indication of how successful your cleaning adventure is going to be.

And I don’t want you to waste hours of your time trying to fully sanitize something that just isn’t gonna sanitize.

Porous versus Non-Porous

In the sex toy nerd world, we often talk about sex toy materials being either porous or non-porous.

This is a bit of a misnomer and oversimplification.

Sex toys porousity is not a binary system. You’re not either “non-porous” or “porous”.

Instead, it’s easiest to think of porosity as a spectrum. On one side, we have “porous”. On the other, we have “non-porous”. Your sex toy material’s porosity falls somewhere on that scale.

Silicone, wood, glass, stainless steel, plastic, and ceramic are considered “non-porous”. They have smaller pores. These pores are small enough that you can still sanitize their surfaces to prevent most bacteria or STIs from hanging around….but those pores still allow gases to stick around. ;)

Jelly, PVC, TPE, TPR, rubber, and elastomer are considered “porous”. They have much, much bigger pores. You can’t sanitize them. Those pores are so honkin’ that bacteria and STIs can hang around with zero issue, and gases basically have a free-for-all.

Okay, But Why Do I Care?

You care because big-ass pores are what allow the ass smell to stick around.

The larger the pores on the toy, the more that this noxious gas can stick around in the sex toy, even after you cleaned the outermost, viewable surface with soap and water after use.

Gas is just a smaller boi, and it can fit into much smaller spaces (like those pores!), allowing it to hide and escape from the cleanser when you clean your sex toy.

Your toy may look clean, and it may be (literally) squeaky clean when you touch it, but at a molecular level, these butt smell gases are still hanging around in the pores.

But I Have Silicone! Why Do I Have a Silicone Butt Plug Smell?!

This is where things get annoying. Silicone, glass, metals, plastics, and ceramics are all billed as “non-porous”. But they aren’t without pores. They just have fewer of them, and they’re smaller.

As the body-safe silicone sex toy manufacturer Tantus explicitly states, “Since silicone is porous, it is possible for it to retain an odor – even after washing – by absorbing the gases that smell.”

Which, uh, sucks. It sucks a lot.

BUT THERE IS HOPE!

That is, we can use the time (and power!) of water to help rinse away the smell when your sex toy has limited pores. This is for you, too, person who has a silicone butt plug smell.

This trick won’t necessarily work on all sex toy materials (i.e. your rubber or jelly plug might be too well absorbed for this to work), but I have yet to have it fail me on silicone and metal sex toys.

I’ve been doing it for over a decade when trying out solutions for how to clean the ass smell off of a butt plug, and it has been working for over a decade.

I promise, it’s super easy.

Non-Powered Butt Plug: How to Clean the Ass Smell Off

Since water can’t really bother non-motorized toys*, we have a simple way to get that ass smell off. Non-motorized toys don’t have motors or electronic functions of any sort. That’d be things like non-vibrating dildos or plain butt plugs.

To clean the silicone butt plug smell off:

• Pick a time when your toy can sit out for at least 8 hours.
• Fill up any container with warm or hot water.
• Place the sex toy into the water.
• Go slowly (as the sex toy is going to displace water, and you don’t want to spill water all over your countertop).
• Allow the sex toy to sit in the water for those 8 hours.
• Pull the sex toy out of the water, dab it dry, and smell it. Does it still have the smell? If so, dump out the water, pour another glass of water (hot tends to work best), and repeat.

I know, it sounds stupidly simple. But it works. Every time we’ve had an issue, just letting the offending smelly butt plug hang out in water has fixed it. Letting it soak gives time for the water to make its way into all of those little pores, providing an ultra-thorough rinse.

There have been a few times where play was, uh, messier than expected. Those days, I usually have to rinse and repeat this process a few times.

But even when the anal sex toy reeked on day one, after day 4 of this, I can’t smell anything even when I hold it under my nose.

*This does not apply to inflatable toys. Inflatable toys have air holes in the surface of the toy. Getting water into this air hole will cause the interior to mold. The air intake valve of any inflatable toy should never be submerged under ANY water.

Motorized Butt Plug: How to Clean the Ass Smell

If your sex toy has a motor, we have to be a bit more careful. (Motor = it vibrates, provides movement, connects to an app, or otherwise has some sort of electronic features in it)

If your toy is motorized, it must be waterproof to use this water-based trick.

Even if it’s waterproof, waterproof “capabilities” are tested with a very specific time limit in mind. Your toy might be 100% waterproof in up to 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes, but we’re trying to leave it in water for a lot, lot longer. Waterproof capabilities may not save you here.

Doing this with your motorized butt plugs does have a higher risk level. Imma be honest. BUT I’ve, again, been doing this for decades on many of mine, and I have yet to kill one over it.

If you want to try how to clean the ass smell off a butt plug and your toy has a motor in it, it needs to have a few things:

• Have most of its “water-precarious” area on one side. If 80% of your toy is an insertable shaft that’s covered in a single layer of silicone, but it’s a charging port and buttons are on a handle that only exists on one side, we can probably assume that the area most at risk for water is this handle and charging port. We can leave that area outside of the water.
• Be partially waterproof – at least water resistant/splashproof.
• Be careful with inflatable/air intake toys. Those air intake valves are often located in weird areas on the toy. If you get water inside of an inflatable toy, that’s the death of the toy. Mold will grow in there, and you’ll never be able to clean it.

If your motorized sex toy meets those demands, you can try to use water to get your smelling butt plug a bit less…smelly:

• Pick a time where your toy can sit out for at least 8 hours.
• Fill up a pint class/cup/mug/vase with warm or hot water. We want the container to be upright to allow the toy to stay upright.
• Place the sex toy into the water, keeping all water-suspicious parts outside of the water.
• If your toy isn’t waterproof, go slowly, leaving the NOT waterproof end out of the water. Err on the side of caution. As you put the toy into the water, water will displace, causing the water level inside the cup to rise. If your toy isn’t waterproof, you may need to dump out water to make sure no water touches the not waterproof end.
• (If your sex toy has a flared base, this is even easier. As shown in the photo, you can see that used the flared base to anchor the Edge 2‘s electronic bits outside of the water.)
• Allow the sex toy to sit in the water for those 8 hours.
• Pull the sex toy out of the water, dab it dry, and smell it. Does it still have the smell? If so, dump out the water, pour another glass of water (hot tends to work best), and repeat.

Did the Ass Smell Stick Around?

Like I said, I’ve never had this fail me for silicone and stainless steel dildos.

It has failed me for rubber and PVC toys.

Especially for porous toys, the workability of this “sex hack” also gets worse the longer the ass smell has been in the sex toy. It wouldn’t matter if I dropped my two-years-long-stinky-rubber-butt-plug into an ocean; it would retain the smell regardless of how long it was in the ocean.

Porous toys just have really large pores. They allow a lot of contaminants to hang out “in” the surface of your toy – even without your permission. That includes ass smell. It may not be possible to get that smell out of a porous toy – especially if it’s been there for awhile.

If that’s the case, you might need to replace it. I’m sorry. :(

I have some tips on how to choose the best cheap sex toys (because we all still gotta make rent) to help. On the bright side, silicone has gotten a lot cheaper over the years, and nowadays, if you shop for a generic silicone plug, it can be the same cost as a rubber one. And silicone is sanitizable, odor-free, scent-free, and free of phthalates.

Welcome to the most realistic sex doll I’ve ever seen in my life. Today, we’re going to cover everything you’d want to know in this Yeloly Tonya review.

The Tonya is a hips-only sex doll with both a vaginal and anal penetratable canal. Its real claim to fame is its absolutely unbelievable level of realism, but the fact that it’s made from silicone (instead of TPE or TPR) is also really notable as well. Don’t worry. We’ll get into all of that below.

The Yeloly Tonya is impressively lifesized. All 30.8 pounds of this sex doll went entirely into a lifesized silicone design that is actually wider than my partner in real-life. These are sex doll proportions that could actually exist on a human being (a rare one that small, but still!). The sex doll has a waist circumference of 24.41″ and a thighs-spread-wide circumference of 45.67″. When laid flat, the sex doll footprint takes up 17.72″ (width) x 13″ (height).

Rare in the sex doll world, the Yeloly Tonya is a silicone sex doll. Inside of that silicone, there is a skeleton for the doll. It allows the thighs to spread (and close) slightly.

My Tonya sex doll has the default vagina and anal set up. They are two separate internal channels with two completely different textures. Both the vaginal and anal canal have a usable depth of 5.9″. They are close-ended.

The Yeloly Tonya sex doll pictured is the Fair coloration with no additional modifications. The sex doll, as pictured, is how it arrived. It did have multiple divots in the doll’s material upon first arrival, but they have not affected use, and I honestly forget they’re there.

THE REALISM!

It is impossible to overstate how gorgeously realistic the Yeloly Tonya is. Absolutely impossible.

Upon first opening the doll, I saw a small speck on the skin. I tried to rub it off, only to realize that it was actually a birthmark freckle built into the doll’s surface.

As I continued to look over the Tonya sex doll, I noticed that it had realistic skin texturing throughout the back and thighs. The doll looks like she’s slightly chilly with those very light skin goosebumps that pop up.

Of course, that’s before I even started looking at the vulva and bum. You know how some manufacturers phone it in on the actual orifice.

There is zero phoning it in with the Tonya.

I sent a picture of the doll’s vulva to multiple kinky friends, and 4 out of 5 thought I was announcing I had met and was playing with a new woman.

The vulva looks that realistic.

The skin texturing on the vulva turns it up to 11 with ultra-textured outer labia. The sex doll’s coloring is darker here, matching the usual genital darkening. The sex doll has a clitoris (it’s small and looks unaroused, but there!), and it even has “skin folds” of the thighs and lower butt near where the vulva rests in-between the thighs.

I will note: it looks like a “picture perfect porn star” vulva though. There’s very little skin darkening. There is no stubble, and it has no hair follicles. The inner labia are tucked so perfectly in-between the outer labia. (This is the standard configuration. If you’re really into a different skin blush tint or pubic hair, they can be added onto your doll at checkout.)

But it’s a labia that could actually exist in the real-world. You’d want to be waxed or have laser hair removal, and your genetics and skin would be a large factor, but this sex doll’s appearance could be on someone who is just out and existing in the world. It’s insane. Sex dolls never offer this level of realism.

The anus isn’t quite as detailed, but I’ll be honest: the human anus isn’t much to really look at. With that in mind, the Tonya sex doll does a great job. The opening features mini skin folds (just like the real thing) with a darker coloration as you get closer to the entrance.

The only unrealistic thing about the vulva and anus is the fact that Tonya’s anus just stays as an open hole while at rest. It’s not a huge deal and didn’t affect the immersion for my partner or I, but in a sex doll that’s so ultra-realistic that I have virtually nothing to nitpick, it’s worth noting. The skin around the anus does not close up or touch itself; it stays in this opened, hole-like look.

It wasn’t until I brought the Tonya doll to a class full of hotel takeover attendees (my G-spot and P-Spot class!) and invited them up to handle and touch the doll that I learned even more. A couple of students pointed out that the doll has veins, and yep, it does. There are very, very light blue veins that run underneath the sex doll’s surface. They’re almost impossible to see if you’re looking for them, but they’re definitely there. Look in the photo above on the thigh.

This is a level of realism that’s just plain unheard of with sex dolls in this price range. Just unheard of. We own a good 10 sex dolls now, and not a single one shares this level of realism despite being in a similar price range.

The marketing photos aren’t just marketing hype. The Yeloly Tonya really does look that lifelike. I am beyond amazed.

Yeloly Tonya Review: The Silicone Material

At first, I thought the Tonya was a TPE/TPR material like most sex dolls. At first grip, it had a bit of a film on it (standard for those TPE/TPR dolls), but now, I’ve realized was the sheen of the releasing agent they used to get the Tonya sex doll out of its original mold.

Very unique in the world of sex dolls, the Yeloly Tonya is a silicone sex doll.

I was worried it might be a tackier type of silicone. It isn’t. It’s still a plushier silicone, though, so you aren’t gliding your hands across it like silk, but I’ve had dildos that have grippier, “tackier” surfaces than the Tonya sex doll does.

There is no scent to the Tonya sex doll. We did try licking it, and yep, no taste either. (This is a huge benefit if you’re someone with an oral sex fetish. We’ve tried oral sex play on some of our TPR and TPE sex dolls, and we just cannot get over the taste. The lack of any taste on the Tonya is a huge win here, perfect for any oral sex training plans.)

The silicone material does pick up more hair and lint than its TPE and TPR counterparts. After toting it around a conference center and between multiple beds, I had to pick off multiple hairs and fuzzes from the sex doll’s material before photographing it. That isn’t an issue I usually have with other TPE/TPR sex dolls.

When we use TPE/TPR sex dolls, we always use them with a blanket to avoid their TPE material “off-gassing” and leaving oils on the surfaces we put them on. We have yet to have any issues with this silicone sex doll. While our TPE dolls have made cardboard soggy and completely flattened a shoebox due to oils seeping into the cardboard from the doll, the silicone has yet to leave any off-gassing oils. This, alone, is a big enough benefit to consider silicone sex dolls going forward.

Be aware that silicone still retains some of the same fragility of most TPE and TPR sex dolls. Be very careful while handling it – especially if you’re someone with rough fingers, calloused hands, or long fingernails. It’s not all that hard to slice or divot your sex doll. The sex doll nerds among us have learned an easy trick: put cloth gloves on before handling your sex doll for the safest experience. If you aren’t going that serious (I don’t), try to cradle the sex doll in your forearms more than digging your fingers into its soft flesh for less risky maneuvering.

However, if the Yeloly Tonya is made from 100% silicone (and I’ll be honest that I’m not sure if it’s a blend or if it’s pure silicone), the Tonya will outlast every other TPE/TPR sex doll you own. That’s the big benefit of silicone. It has a ridiculously long life span. I have silicone dildos from twenty years ago that are still going strong. (Most TPE/TPR sex toys have a lifespan of around a year-ish of regular use. They dry out.)

If you’re lucky enough to share the Tonya with others, silicone can also be sanitized. TPR/TPE can not. It’s going to be hard to sanitize the interior canals of the Tonya sex doll, but it is technically possible. If you have some kinks for sharing your sex toys with others, this is another reason to choose a silicone sex doll over some of the alternatives.

Assuming the Tonya is 100% silicone, only your own handling and cleaning will send the sex doll to a grave. You’ll be more likely to tear it (or allow moisture stay inside, causing mold) before the material itself will degrade.

If you’re someone who takes meticulous care of your sex dolls and does really thorough cleaning, a 100% silicone sex doll will last you way, way, way longer than a TPE or TPR sex doll will. It’s an investment in a sex doll to last you a long time versus a temporary one.

That being said, through no fault of its own, silicone is simply less jiggly. This is actually a great thing for handling (and I’ll talk about that next), but for use, you won’t get the same flesh ripples that you do with TPE/TPR. The material is firmer. It feels a bit more like sex with a strong, very-toned body versus a softer, jiggly one.

I’ve tried to showcase the level of jiggle with GIFs above in this Yeloly Tonya review. The doll will bounce around a bit, but the material will not show that “rippling” across all of the fatty areas like a different material would.

We’re happy to make that trade-off for a sex doll that can go for oral sex and will last longer, but it’s something to note.

Moving the Tonya Around

The Tonya sex doll is slightly over 30 pounds in weight. It’s not a heavy sex doll, but it’s not a light one either.

That 30 pounds feels even more unwieldy with the sex doll’s impressive width. With a hip circumference at 45″ inches, the Tonya sex doll has (literal) life-like hips that are probably wider than some human partners that you’ve had.

The silicone material helps a lot here. Unlike TPE/TPR, the Tonya sex doll doesn’t “jello” as much in your hands. The silicone material has a higher firmness and structure to it, so while it feels heavy, it also feels solid. It feels a bit more like moving a heavy pile of clothing inside of a perfectly-packed plastic bag. You know it’s heavy, but it also stays where you put it without wobbling all over the place.

My favorite way to move the Tonya is by literally “scooping” the sex doll up. Wherever the doll is at, I’ll scoop my forearms underneath its thighs on either side to pick it up. This keeps my fingernails off the sex doll and bypasses the fact that the sex doll’s width is wider than my little hands can easily manage. “Cradling” the doll like this to move it makes everything go more smoothly.

If you’re someone who wants to have your sex doll on top, be aware you’ll need to be able to lift 30 pounds up and down. More than just the weight, though, you’ll need to find somewhere to “grip” the doll to pick it up and down. That lifelike circumference means that the sex doll has real “width” to it. Getting your hands wrapped around that waist or hips and simultaneously not digging your fingernails into the sex doll’s surface is really difficult. If you have extra-large hands, this might be less of an issue for you, but I wear size Large medical gloves, and I still have no idea how I’d handle this doll to easily lift it up and down without getting my nails dug into it. We’ve given quite a few good faith tries for this Yeloly Tonya review, but I still can’t figure it out.

(But y’know, its your sex doll. If you don’t want to worry about digging in your fingers, you don’t have to. It’s your possession. I just don’t want to hurt mine.)

Yeloly Tonya Review: How Does It Feel?

Unexpectedly, the Yeloly Tonya’s silicone doesn’t feel like a TPE sex doll either. We both thought the silicone would only make a difference for visuals, material durability, and storage, but no, it actually impacts use too.

That is, silicone is a much firmer material than TPE and TPR. That means that the texturing inside of the anal and vaginal tunnels is much more pronounced.

i.e. the Tonya feels way more orgasmically textured than most of our other sex dolls.

Whether that’s a good thing will depend on you. It brings out some of our premature ejaculation kink because it’s so stimulating as soon as he slides inside. Within minutes, he could already get off.

He says this is as close as he’s gotten in a sex doll to some of the most-stimulating Fleshlights out there. This sex doll happens to pack both ridiculously hot visuals and a pretty intensely stimulating interior.

In a flip from most sex dolls, he also finds the anal tunnel to be looser than the vaginal tunnel. The vaginal tunnel was a snug (but not uncomfortably so!) squeeze that really exacerbated that ultra-textured pleasure. Through our Yeloly Tonya review period, he’s found that he can last longer if he slides into the butt.

For play, he found the tunnels of both holes to be at a good angle for sliding inside. The anal one feels more naturally angled if we flip the sex doll into an ass-up, doggy style position, but it’s been accessible from both lying sex doll positions.

He also would like me to point out that it’s easier to get rough with this sex doll than a TPE one. The silicone hip material feels easier to grip; it stays in his hands better and feels as close to “grabbing a real person’s hips” as he’s felt in a sex doll. Softer TPE/TPR materials make it harder to get a really good, stable grip on the doll. The firm silicone material of the Tonya feels a bit like gripping onto someone’s muscular thigh; it feels pretty natural in the hands and doesn’t “wiggle out” from underneath your fingers like softer material does.

Using this Sex Doll for Oral Sex Play

I actually am really fond of using sex dolls for femdom play. In particular (as you’ve probably noticed in my Locktober calendar and other spots), I love using them for edging and oral sex practice.

The Yeloly Tonya is probably the best sex doll out there for oral sex play. The silicone material is odorless and tasteless, making for a much smoother experience than TPE or TPE materials. TPE and TPR materials can have a tackiness and medical flavor that is pretty rough to get through.

Instead, with the Tonya, you get a neutral-taste experience. It just kinda tastes a bit like licking taste-free rubber. You get the rubber-y feel on your tongue, but there’s no taste with it, making for some of the most realistic oral sex play you can get. Add that into how realistic the Tonya looks – even with your face buried between its legs, and you get a really cool, lifelike oral sex training sex doll.

Tonya’s inner labia are relatively short and rest next to the outer labia. It’s not possible to get your tongue “in-between” the folds of labial skin you can see. Your tongue will mostly hang out near the vaginal entrance and can take some licking stops near the very-visible clitoris.

While the sex doll has no taste to it, you can add flavored lube if you need a bit of a distraction from the feel of rubber on your tongue. We’ve been experimenting with different flavored lubes to find one that feels as realistic as possible. Right now, we’ve been experimenting with Sutil in Coconut; it tastes a bit like someone’s lotion/cleanser was coconut scented, but it does distract from the rubber sensation on the tongue without just tasting like straight fake sugar.

(To be clear, the rubber sensation on the tongue isn’t bad; it’s just not human skin. We’re exploring ways to help distract the brain so that it focuses less on the sensation not matching up and thinks more about the flavor.)

Discreet Packaging

Gigantic, heavy sex toys like this can be hard to safely ship. It’s easier for boxes to tear and toys to get injured.

For my Yeloly Tonya review, the Yeloyl Tonya came packaged in two boxes. The outermost shipping box is plain brown with requests for the package to stay right side up.

Just in case something happens to that outer box mid-transit, inside this first box is a second box. This second box is the Yeloly-branded, bright-blue box. The Yeloly logo is not explicit, so you’d still have a bit of plausible deniability if something were to expose some of this interior box. It has two layers of discreet protection (though the bright blue does catch more eyes than the plain brown outermost box).

Opening the blue Yeloly box leads to a piece of styrofoam that has been covered in grey tissue paper. This styrofoam “lid” can be removed from the box to show the sex doll in transparent, must-be-ripped-open plastic bagging. The sex doll sits on top of the other styrofoam siding, providing cushioning to get the sex doll to you safely.

The Yeloly Tonya does not include any sort of long-term storage case or bag. You can keep this blue box for long-term storage if you’d like, but it is, again, a bright blue box. If desired, the styrofoam pieces will remove from the box for storing these pieces in any other container or box as well.

I do find it hilarious that the shipping box notes “Team Lift” for mail carrier associates. Presumably, when you have this lifelike sex doll hips at home, you’re going to be single-lifting it quite a bit.

My Vibrator Won’t Turn On! What’s Wrong with It?

Well, crap. You just bought a new toy, and it won’t turn on. Especially as sex toys get more complicated, figuring out why a vibrator won’t turn on becomes a little bit more convoluted. But don’t worry: I’m here to help!

In order, try these steps:

1) Read the instruction book or packaging. I know, I know, nobody likes reading that tiny print. Sometimes, though, it’ll show you a different way to insert the batteries, or it might tell you that the vibrator has the “Smart Silence” feature that means the vibrator will not turn on unless it’s pressed to your bits. Almost all rechargeable vibrators come with a guide, so poke into it to see what it has to say. A lot of your initial problems can be solved by just reading the instruction manual. (One time I was convinced my vibrator was broken. Turns out it had an initial charge time of 16 hours. It just had an uncharged battery on arrival. There’s no way I would have known that without the instruction manual.)

1A) Read the online manual. Nowadays, some manufacturers only include some half-ass, 3-illustration “book” to save on manufacturing costs with a QR code to a full booklet online. If reading the printed manual didn’t work, try the QR-code manual. It might mention a travel lock or other feature you didn’t know about.

2) If you have a rechargeable toy, try to charge it. Some rechargeable toys come travel locked. A Travel Lock is a “feature” that prevents the toy from turning on without pressing some obscure combination of buttons. This prevents vibrating boxes for manufacturers and retailers. Down the line, for your use, it means you can avoid alarming TSA when traveling. Most toys automatically disengage “Travel Lock” once they’re placed on the charger. Double-check that instruction manual again, too. It’ll include that obscure button combination to disengage Travel Lock.

2A) Fully charge up the toy. While most manufacturers send toys out of their factory with a partial charge, some don’t. See how long the manual says it takes to get to a full charge. Put your toy onto the charger for that long. (And, honestly, you really should charge-up your toy when you initially get it before the first. I know it sucks, but it’s good for battery life and longevity.)

3) Press and hold the power button. Depending on who manufactures your vibrator, it may turn on with a quick single press of the power button – or it might turn on when you press and hold the button for 3-5 seconds. Try both and see if this is the problem. (I own thousands of sex toys, and I constantly get stuck on this one when met with a new toy.)

4) Does your toy charge magnetically? If so, some magnetic sex toy chargers can be placed on the toy backwards, and you’ll never know. It will accept the charger happily. It just won’t charge. Try seeing if your magnetic charger will go on both ways, and if so, look for the way that lights up the sex toy’s lights and try charging it all over again. (Sorry!)

4b) Are you sure you’ve inserted the plug far enough? If the rechargeable vibrator has one of those “looks like a sealed hole until you plug the charger in” designs, a lot of people can be scared of pushing it in too far and breaking the toy. In many cases, they don’t push the charger far enough in – so the vibe never charges. Try to be a bit more forceful with the plug-in charger function. You can usually feel a bit of a “snap into place” with most of them. Then you gotta start the charging process all over again. (Still sorry!)

5) If you’re using a battery-operated vibrator, make sure the batteries are in the right way. Some vibrators include instructions that mention how the batteries go in, and most vibrators usually have a guide printed somewhere near the battery compartment; you just may have to squint to find it. In some cases, a battery-operated toy might have a piece of paper or another item “blocking” the battery contact ports – especially if your vibrator shipped with batteries. Check to make sure there isn’t one of those.

5note) If there’s a piece of paper lining the walls of the battery compartment, you generally leave that in there. That’s the manufacturer’s cheap-ass way of reducing the rattle the batteries make during use. If you remove it, your vibrator will get much louder. You can reinsert it again if you had to remove it temporarily for checking the batteries.

5a) Check that your batteries are new and disposable. Some battery-operated vibrators will not play with rechargeable batteries. Plus, sometimes, you accidentally insert a dead battery into a toy.

6) If you’re using a battery-operated vibrator, make sure you have the battery compartment completely sealed up. Some of these sex toys can require a really tight seal!

7) Is it a small bullet vibrator? Open up the battery compartment and make sure there isn’t a piece of plastic or paper sitting on top of the batteries. This breaks the battery’s connection so the bullet vibrator can’t turn on before it gets to you. Sometimes this piece of plastic is clear and see-through, so you won’t even know it’s there until you investigate.

8) Did you actually insert the batteries? It sounds obvious, but sometimes we assume the vibrator came with batteries when it actually didn’t.

9) Turn on your vibrator, and press the toy against skin. Some toys now come equipped with an automatic “off” functionality that turns off the stimulation if the toy isn’t pressed against skin. This keeps your sex toy from making annoying noises (and wasting its battery) if you toss it to the side mid-pleasure. However, it can also make it really hard to initially turn on when you aren’t used to that feature – especially if this is one of your first luxury vibrators. Try to turn on the toy while keeping the “usable” part touching your skin somewhere to see if this feature is the culprit. It’s currently a big feature of many WOW Tech portfolio (brands Womanizer, We-Vibe, Arcwave, Pjur, LoveHoney) toys.

None of That Worked!

Sometimes, despite your very, very best efforts, it just, literally, isn’t your fault. Like everything else in the world, sex toys are mass-produced in a factory. This means that some sex toys come off the line defective from the get-go. This isn’t common, but it definitely happens! (It’s even more common the lower-priced your toy is.)

If none of the above fixed your problem:

10) Contact Customer Service from where you bought it. Sometimes, there may be a known issue with your specific toy that they can walk you through. This also happens to be the first step in returning/exchanging a defective sex toy, so you’ll already be in contact with the people who can help you!

11) Other times, your toy is a defect. Just like that blender you took home from the store that was shattered when you opened it or that piece of furniture that was already cracked when you opened the box, vibrators and sex toys can come defective too. Sometimes, a toy slips off the line unnoticed. Contact Customer Service from where you purchased it to see about getting a refund or exchanging it.

12) Did your sex toy die long after you first purchased it? It’s unlikely that the retailer you bought it from will be able to help you anymore. Most standard sex toy retailer return windows are 30 days. (If your sex toy dies outside of that window, a retailer will assume that it’s due to negligence or a “natural” death of the electronics instead of a faulty one off the line.)

That being said, you’re not out of options! Especially if you bought a brand-name toy instead of some knock-off toy on Amazon, most manufacturers offer a 1 year or 2 year sex toy warranty against manufacturing issues.

If you know the brand name of your toy, do a web search, look at the bottom of the manufacturer’s site, and you’ll likely see info about submitting a warranty (or return!) claim. (Some manufacturers even offer 10-year or 15-year quality guarantees!)

(Protip: Keep all of the receipts from your sex toy purchases! If you buy in-person, keep the physical receipt, and if you buy online, dedicate an email folder to all of your purchases – even the non-sex toy ones! When you try to activate a warranty, most manufacturers will ask for proof of purchase from an authorized retailer. You’d be surprised by how often people accidentally purchase an illegal knock-off and try to contact the original manufacturer to activate the warranty – only to find out that they’re entirely out-of-luck!)

(Protip #2: This is yet another reason NOT to buy your sex toys from Amazon, eBay, or other random sites. Most name-brand sex toy manufacturers prohibit sales on those platforms, so if you buy their toys from those big websites, you may be getting a non-authorized copy. This means that the manufacturer will NOT honor your warranty request – because you essentially bought a bootleg vibrator. There are so, so many reputable sex toy stores out there anymore – ones that give back to sex education and ones that DON’T hide sex toys under multiple filters like they’re gross, hidden secrets. Shop from those instead!)
