Philadelphia sky-scraper Silhouette....

These pictures of Philadelphia skyscraper were taken from Camden, New-Jersey. It was evening when I and my wife were driving back to jersey city after visiting our cousins in Delaware. On our way back we took 37 miles detour just to see the beautiful scenery of sun setting behind the high-rise structures of Philadelphia. The moment was really an awesome, spectacular and detour was of-course worth taken. I wanted to share the pictures with you all that I have clicked here in this blog. The gear that I used are Canon EOS 60D with Tamron AF 28-75mm f/2.8 SP XR Di LD Aspherical. The comment and critiques are always welcome.

Maha Shivaratri - "Night of Shiva", is the festival celebrate by Hindus every year at the month of magh (feb-march).

The Pashupatinath temple in Nepal is the biggest temple of Lord Shiva, where hundreds of devotees all over from Nepal and India arrive a night before to celebrate. Among them 'Sadhus" are the one. These sadhus, some in grey attire, some in nothing but loincloth with ashes flanks, spent their nights out in open ground or in tent in the temple area. They keep themselves warm by smoking Ganja (Marijuana) and drinking hot tea. Because of their appearance, these sadhus are the center of attraction for all the other people who comes to the temple. Mostly for the foreigners and the photographers they are perfect models and poses for them, for which some fetches the money some does not. Here are some pictures I have taken this year and wanted to share with you. Comments and critiques are welcome.

Day Two

Although desperate to click portrait for a long time, I was not sure where and how to begin. We all know the fact that "Photography" is an expensive for an amateur photographer when it is just a hobby. So instead of spending dollars on a costliest equipment, I thought to use what is available to me. For that I have used whatever light and other equipment that I could find at home and model of course my wife (one of the advantages of being married). After working for hours and hours I finally finished my day two of "Focus N' Click with 50mm" project.

Now it was time to analyze the result which was of course not very pleasing. But I must say that few of the photographs able to impressed me. Finally morale of the day is "More you play more you perfect".

Here are some of those photos I have posted in my blog, check out and jot down your comments and thoughts. Thank you in advance for your time for going through my blog.

Day One

This year I began with resolution which I had it at the beginning of the year to start a mini project with prime lens, using only 50mm lens. The theme of the project was to capture all those moments, times, things, portraits, landscapes, HDR, B/W, in-door-out-door any action that can be freezed into a digital image with 50mm. So the project was titled as "Prime Action with 50mm". I used canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens, canon EOS 60D, and all the other required gears. Although I bought this lens a year ago, I had not tried it in its fullest advantage. So this project would give me ample of time to spent, explore, and play with it. Well the project was created and gears were decided for entire time of use, but still with a question "where, how and what I shall begin from".

However after a long gap I finally began my project. The first day I spent my evening taking pictures in James River Bridge and the surrounding areas in Newport News, Virginia.

James River Bridge was built in 1928 which is 4.5 miles long. It was the longest bridge in the world by then. It connects Newport News to Isle of Wight County in Hampton Road.

4th of July the Independence Day of the United States of America, people celebrate with all the fun and ends it by displaying their happiness exploding the spectacular firework. Ever since I saw firework photos taken by other photographers I always wanted to take it.
On 4th of July, 2012, I picked up my gear and headed towards the Town point park at downtown Norfolk, Virginia. Finally after walking for a while found a spot not that great but can't complain either, and waited for the fireworks. It began exactly at 9:30 pm and as usual fireworks were breath taking and amazing. I learned many tricks and tips reading blogs and articles on fireworks photography, but I did not get enough time to try all of them. I used bulb mode setting at f/13, ISO at 100 with remote. The results were not satisfying but I was pleased with some of the pictures, which I wanted to share with you. I have done some post photography work on photos, I have adjusted a bit of exposure and a bit of vibrancy....
Please post your comments with tips and suggestions.
