Hey guys, I know it’s been a while, will be posting more often from now on! Also an apology is due to those of you who received some spammy emails from my email address last week. My account got hacked for a night and some “work from home” kind of emails were sent out to those of you in my address book. Don’t worry there was no virus attached and my email address is now my own again and has been safely restored to normal!

Meet Princess, she lives in my neighbourhood and likes to come over for visits. She’s very pretty so my little sisters named her Princess. We’re pretty sure our kitty, Indiana, likes her quite a bit.

Don’t worry, this was just a yawn. She didn’t maul me or anything.

The Lady Nelson

Meet the Lady Nelson, a replica built in 1987, the original in 1798. She lives in Hobart, Tasmania and was nice enough to model for some black and white Holga shots for me.

Though I do love the photos I was able to get off my Holga this round, I don’t think I’ll be using the black and white film in her again any time soon. All my shots came out very white-washed and blurry. Thankfully, the subjects were pretty enough to make up for it.

I actually really love this boat. She’s beautiful and she doesn’t give me sea legs! Impressive!

While walking along the rocks at the beach last weekend I found this sweet thing and wanted to share with you! Pretty. I wonder who made it. I thought it looked pretty special and deserved a couple of photographs. <3

While I was playing around editing these beach and surfing shots, I letterboxed some and really loved the effect. I just used a little digital camera for these photos and the zoom’s not the biggest so zooming in on the photos and letterboxing them turned out really well.

The 3 surfing pics are definitely my favourites!

Beach Brights

I did up some of the photos I took on the beach and edited a few using a couple of techniques I don’t usually use. I do love the way they have come out though. They’re really bright and sparkly and I love how soft the waves and clouds look.

This one is the view from the sand of a house that caught my eye just off the beach. What a perfect spot to live! The view from that top window would be just amazing!

I took this the other night after doodling this catty picture. I have no patience when it comes to my oil painting so I’ve decided I need to draw more and create more pictures in general, and hopefully some kind of patience and skill will reveal itself to me.

As you may have noticed there was no linky party yesterday. I have decided to stop hosting the parties. I don’t know whether this will be forever but there are certain aspects to the blogging world that are too easy to get caught up in.. and as a result you forget the purpose of the blog in the first place. I know many bloggers write about this but it’s true. I do not blog to blog. I blog to put down my photos and paintings. More content and less Alexa Rankings for me.

My other kitty, Indiana was looking on in awe when I took this photo… apparently he had no idea that cats could climb trees! Duke teaches him naughty things.. luckily Indie isn’t quite athletic enough to do most of them though.. so he just looks on in wonder!

And here he caught a little skink… luckily I saw him and was able to get the tiny lizard off him before he hurt it. Phew!

Blue and White Daisies

These are a couple of photos I took of the daisies my little sister, Chicken brought home for a science experiment.

We put some water and drops of blue food dye into a vase and watched the white daisy’s turn blue!

I had a lot of fun taking some shots of my kittens in the garden the other day. I also had a lot of fun doing them up and fiddling around with them on Picnik. I do love that site. Do you use it?

These are just a few of the shots I got while Indiana and Duke were playing. Indie was very interested in following Duke around and watching him. Very cute.

I love the colouring in these shots. The pots look especially pretty!

Catty Birthday + Kirsty & Friends Linky Party

This week it was Duke’s Birthday! Yay! He got lot’s of pressie’s, toy mice, paper planes etc. I wrapped mine up because I thought he would enjoy the wrapping the most. No sticky tape, just lots of long curly ribbon and noisy tissue paper. Of course he loved it.

Here are a few photos of him unwrapping his gift. I won’t show you him in his party hat because he hated it so much. It was very funny though. I love it when kitties walk backwards thinking it will somehow get rid of the thing around their head. hehe!

Flower Power

The sun is finally shining down here in Tassie! This morning I was able to go into the garden and take some photos of the flowers that are starting to come out in time for Spring! Hooray!

I’m totally awesome for getting this shot.. yeah that’s right, I’m tooting my own horn, but I’m proud of this one! It’s pretty! And… you know it too! Right?

Vegan Tasmania + Kirsty & Friends Linky Party

While we’re going through links today, I’d like to share with you one of my own. I have very recently created a new website, www.VeganTasmania.com specifically catered to vegans living in Tasmania, but anyone can get something out of the site.

I’m still working hard on the site, and am currently writing up a list of vegan and un-vegan-friendly alcohols and brands for reference. So far there are the usual; about me page, blog, events, forum, list of animal-derived ingredients, restaurant guide etc. etc.

I know most of you here are not vegan but a regular part of the blog will be my own recipes. At the moment I have an unbelievably delicious Chocolate Cheesecake recipe up that you must go and check out here.

And (hopefully, if all goes well) by the end of the day there should be a new chocolate brownie recipe up too!

Harry Potter Birthday + Kirsty & Friends Linky Party

A couple of weeks ago my little sister had her tenth birthday party! She invited her best friends and we played lots of party games together.

This is a picture of Chicken with the “pin the tail on the donkey” game that my Mummy dear and I came up with. As you (hopefully) can tell, it’s a drawing I did of Harry, Hermione and Ron. In the background I have made the outline of Hedwig. For the game the party-goers had to make their own Hedwig out of a Stampin’ Up! Owl punch. We put magnets on the back and hung the picture on the fridge. Then the game was just like the usual stick the Hedwig on the Harry Potter picture.
