It's been a while! Hey isn't that a song...I am getting flashbacks to highschool/college. Either way it has been a while! I don't really get much time at night to blog or I should say I am way too tired when everyone is finally asleep and I usually end up sleeping too! I have been reading blogs though and keeping up on the news/crafts/excitement of my internet buddies.

I hope to be posting more often...it is the new year and all :)

Honestly where does the time go!!! I swear half of the time I feel like I am doing A TON of stuff, feeding a baby, feeding a toddler, feeding myself, laundry, dishes, cleaning, finances and once I get my list done (that doesn't even include fun things like crafting :) it starts all over again. Or the other half of the time it feels like I have done nothing even though the day flies by!!

Olive has been such a great big sister, I love seeing the little girl in her growing. I find she is very thoughtful. I was cleaning the bathroom the other day and she came up to me and said "thanks for cleaning the bathroom mom," Richard was home and I asked if he told her to say that, but he didn't! it was pretty cute! She saw I stubbed my toe on a bench today and then she was trying to get into the freezer. I noticed her and asked what she was doing. "You want the pink car??" The pink car is am ice pack...aww she wanted to put it on my toe. Cutest kid ever I tell ya!

Ellie, oh Ellie LOVES to smile, especially in the morning. She wakes up in the greatest of moods!

Some days I swear she looks a lot like Olive, but others nothing like her. I should get some pictures to put side by side and see :)

I am hoping to get back to reading blogs and posting more. Lets just say someone has been needing extra cuddles lately.

My little Ellie must have been nice and cozy....

If you have been reading my blog for a little while you probably read that I was really trying for a VBAC...sadly it didn't work out. And here is why...

Friday, September 16th I was scheduled to go in for 'induction,' I use that term lightly because they really don't like to induce during an attempted VBAC because of the risk that my incision could rupture. But I go in anyway because I was already a week late as of the 16th. The good news I thought was at the clinic I was told I was 1.5cm dilated which meant I was favorable and they could possibly give me a small dose of pitocin to help things.

So here I am waiting to go and the nurse comes in to check me....apparently I am not dilated. Big bummer because that means I am not favorable anymore. They decided to send me down to ultrasound to check things out and see if I could possibly wait a little longer at home. Things didn't look horrible but my fluid levels where low and the recommendation was to go for a repeat cesarean. The Mr. and I weighed the options and decided to have our baby that evening...

Turns out it was probably a good thing....if I had waited I could have had close to a 11 pound baby that might have been stuck!

At 4:05pm we had our little Evelyn Elizabeth. On the operating table to exclaimed to the Mr. that "two was it for me." The anesthesiologist had a hard time finding the "right" spot....err which made for a not so pleasant time sitting on the table with my bare back hanging out! This happened with Olive too! Little did I know this procedure was going to haunt me for days later. Turns out I developed a spinal headache...all I have to say about that is NOT FUN!

Getting close to the three week mark I am finally starting to feel back to my old self. After a fun little seroma...if anyone knows what that is, yeah gross...if you don't know what that is I will spare you the details. But I would rather that not have happened.

Little Ellie is a very good baby. She cries when she wants to eat and that is about all!

Friday is my official "best guess date," I keep holding out hope that I will start labor any second now :)

When I feel some cramps I get all excited....and then they stop.

I have been walking like a crazy person, resting, eating mexican....and a few more things to try and jump start labor. I know she will come when she is ready...BUT I really wish she was ready now! Ha.

Part of me is worried because I really want a VBAC....and I am not sure how long the Dr. would let me go. He is VBAC friendly or at least makes himself out to be....so I am hoping come friday he doesn't say I need to schedule a C-section :( That would be a big bummer for me.

I am hoping maybe today would be a fitting day...go into labor on Labor Day :)

Potty Training....

Before I had Olive I had many ideas on how I would parent, what I would do and everyone else who had kids should do it this way. Yes, I will admit it. I was one of those people....but then I think anyone who doesn't have kids has done that at some point in time.

So along comes potty training...not sure why it would be so easy but its not.

I think if I were to start over from the beginning I would NOT get a small potty seat. I would get just the insert that goes in a normal potty because I feel like now I have another challenge of transferring her to the big potty, since she only wants to use the "little" potty! I told her one day the little potty was going to go to another little girl who needs to learn to go potty. She did not seem to happy about that idea.

So far she stays dry as long as she gets to pick out her own undies...I can not say the same for #2's though, those have still been a challenge.

In my head its as simple as...ok go on the potty. Hah...not that simple.

What I have learned from this experience is just to be PATIENT. She has been doing it a certain way for over two years and she just needs to get used to the idea of going on the potty. It will happen when it happens and I should not rush it. So I just need to take a deep breathe and let it happen!

We have had a few nice days out and I captured this picture...apparently she was an angry dandelion blower.

Less than three weeks to go before baby #2!! I almost have my to do list completed!

However, this last week gave me a few new things to add to my list...

-feeling better after catching allergies, I have never really had bad allergies except with this pregnancy!

-fixing my computer's hard drive

Now after a hard drive scare a few years back, the Mr. and I decided to invest in external hard drives so we could back up all of our photos, documents, etc. I am so thankful because of that I did not lose any of Olive's baby pictures or family pictures. I don't know how I would have dealt with losing something like that! So after weighing the options we decided to try to fix this ourselves. Well, we didn't have to many options because after taking my little computer to Apple, they said it was too old for them to fix (six years old.) So off to Best Buy we go, were we find out Apple has switched hard drive types, which is why they couldn't fix mine. Best Buy only had one we could purchase...fast forward a few hours to where Richard is now on his way back from his Uncle's where they replaced the hard drive. I get a call saying 'Yay it's working...however there are some cosmetic issues." Hah, apparently they had a hard time getting into the "guts" of the laptop. I now have a wonky keyboard (new one is on its way from Hong Kong) and I can not eject the start up disc from my dvd player!

But my computer works just fine :) Tomorrow we have a date to opening up my computer again to get the disc out. I have a feeling the openings don't line up and it gets stuck coming out. But I would be fine not using it anyways. I love this little computer, it has been good to me for six years. I just can't afford to buy a new one a the moment!

Next on my To Do list is to make a new header for after the arrival of baby #2! I know I will be far to busy to sit down and try to make on I like, since I am so picky so I might as well do it now!

I am also going to write a post soon on our efforts with potty training...phew, I swear this is the most challenging thing I have done so far being a mom. Patience, patience, patience....I have learned to have more patience myself!

Castles...

Olive has a new favorite thing to build...castles, at least that is what she calls them. She loves going to the beach, which reminds me we should get there again soon. Its been so grossly hot out lately though we haven't even wanted to go outside!

Here are a two of Olive's towers....

Olive seems to be pretty excited for "baby sister" to come! We ask her often about her now...so she gets used to the fact she is coming :) She has asked me a few times when she is coming out...

Which by the way I went to the Dr. today...from now I go to weekly appointments I set them up on Mondays at the same time so it would be easier for me to remember :) So my appointment today went smooth. He did "check" me and baby is head down!!!! Yay...I am pretty excited about that! So it seems I will be able to to at least have a TOLAC (trial of labor after cesarean)...I may be in denial but I am kind of excited to start labor. I know some of you may think I am nuts! But I never experienced that with Olive...that and if I can avoid surgery and the recovery time needed for a cesarean I will be extra happy!

Today I am 35 weeks and 4 days...so if I do go into labor at any point they wouldn't stop it....So could be any day now!!

I know once baby comes things around this little blog will become even more quiet than they have become recently...but I still want to keep up with it and update friends and family! So I will try my best and I hope you bear with me :)

It IS worth it...

It is worth it in the end...that is what I keep telling myself. The...
-Heartburn
-Horrible sleep
-Gas/bloating/swelling
-Not being able to bend over
-Losing my breath after one set of stairs...

It is all SOOO worth it :)

Needless to say I have been just a tad uncomfortable lately...I am getting closer and closer to my due date or "best guess date :)"

Olive and I tried out the new double stroller with the car seat in it today....

I kept thinking Olive was really not going to like riding under or in back...but she loves it. I keep asking her do you want to ride up front and she was adamant to stay "in the back seat." The canopy on the back seat does come off...so that will give her extra head room. We also have the option to but the main seat all the way down, so the baby can lay flat and Olive would have the extra seat in the back in front...Love this stroller, it has so many possibilities!

I am off to down a bottle of Tums...this heartburn awful tonight! (worth it...worth it... :)

My cousin Dan and his fiance Katie asked me to take their wedding pictures, I was flattered they thought of me! So of course course I had to take some engagement pictures for them as well! It just so happens we picked the start of one of the hottest weeks to take the pictures. Luckily it was just the beginning of the heat wave! So while we did get hot and jeans may not have been the best choice...I don't think you can tell by looking at the pictures!

I can not wait for their wedding...its in October...love that time of year!

32 weeks! Can you believe it?! I can't.

I remember thinking at 8 weeks "wow, I have a long way to go!"

Yes, I am wearing Batman PJ's :) They are the Mr.'s and they are the only ones I am comfortable sleeping in at night!

So what is new with me...

-I can hardly sleep...it takes so much effort to turn from side to side!

Or my hips hurt or my arms fall asleep. But its all worth it :)

-I have only gained 3 pounds in the last six weeks...which Dr. says

is fine. I am trying to keep my weight under control because

with Olivia it got a little crazy!

-I have a bad feeling this babe is not going to cooperate and be head down.

She has been kicking me pretty low lately! Eek, I am going

to start reading up on the spinning babies site! See if I can

help her stay the right way!

-I had my appointment with the new Dr. I will be seeing, I had to switch

because I want to try a VBAC. Of course I can really only do that if she

isn't breech like her sister!! But it went better than I thought he is

aware I want to try a VBAC and is supportive of my decision.

In other news...

-I went to Target today to get some groceries...I finished then went to get into the line,

I started putting things up on the register and noticed the lady behind me giving me dirty looks.

Then the cashier started doing the same...I was thinking ok, is there something on my face? Well I look up and see in am in the express lane!! 10 items or less....well I had about 40 items, 20 of which were already up and ready to be rung up. UGH. The cashier says nothing only "it wouldn't be an issue if there was no one else in line." double UGH. SO she makes me take my 20 items and put them back in my cart! For one I was embarrassed and two I was annoyed she could have just rung me up in the time she as staring at me and making me put everything back in my cart! Being the pregnant emotional person I am, what do I start doing after I get out of line...cry, yes I was crying in Target. So I went to get myself a bar of chocolate...I feel better now :)

-Olive has been super chatty lately and super cute. She says please, thank you and you're welcome all the time, really when she doesn't even need to :)

I finished some things on my to do list...

-Wills for the Mr. and I

-Life insurance

(both of which I have been wanting to do since Olivia was born but kept putting off!

-Is it sad I have make a to do list on my to do list? :)

Well, that is all for the time being!!! I am off to enjoy some yummy peas from the garden :)

I am loving Pinterest....

There are sooo many great ideas out on the web and this is the perfect place to keep everything organized. I have already made us of my boards because its just so easy to find things! And you can do it from any computer, not just the one you save your own bookmarks on.

And no I am not being paid to advertise :) Its just my new fun thing!

Little Man Mikko...

I had the pleasure of taking little man Mikko's 6-7 month pictures earlier this week! He is a very cute, and also very serious little guy. We were able to get smiles out of him though.

He thought the grass would taste good but then had second thoughts!

Love the last two...the weather cooperated nicely too, I was afraid it was going to start pouring on us!

I think I forgot a 1/2 cup of oatmeal...because I lost count :) And I didn't realize they spread out so much when they cooked....so they got stuck together. But they still taste good!!

I think it is safe to say I feel 99.9% better than the last two weeks! The story goes like this...

Sore throat starts...gets worse...lose my voice...turns into laryngitis/bronchitis...go to Dr. to make sure its not Strep...its not...apparently a horrible case of allergies...not being able to take anything but Benadryl makes me an unhappy camper!

But all is well again, except I woke up on Sunday and wasn't really able to walk on my right foot!! In my head I was thinking REALLY! I was limping around all day, icing, heating, elevating...and it is better now. My conclusion is I possibly got a nasty bug/spider bite in the wrong place, because I had a big red bump right above my heel where it hurt the most. BUT that is all I have to complain about...I shouldn't complain because it really isn't that bad :)

I was still able to get out (or stay in) and do some things on some of the days...otherwise I pretty much stayed inside. The weather has been so odd and kind of dreary lately! With a few nice days here and there Olive and I go out and weed the garden or just play in the dirt and water :)

I have to take some pictures of my garden I am very excited for everything that is growing! I have peas, beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce (first time growing that so we will see how it tastes!) cauliflower, radishes and pumpkins!! It is all free of weeds (currently) so it looks pretty :) I had to spray this REALLY smelly stuff (which is organic, because my goal is not to use any chemicals on it) to keep the bunnies out. I did put up a little fence but they found a way around it...dang bunnies. So I just need to spray and they stay away!

I was also able to find a nice maternity top at Khols for $9!! Check it out...Thats my camera pose I guess :)

I have also been busy making bibs! I had to throw sooo many away because they just got nasty from Olivia. And they are kind of spendy for the good kind...So I decided to shop at the fabric store called "moms" and make some for free!!

There is an update for now! I also want to update on baby #2 and Olive (who continues to amaze me everyday :)

Ohh and I am definitely going to make some of these!!!! From Cookies and Cups....I love the Little Debbie Creme Pies...but I would love to make some of my own...YUM!
