Kenneth Cole Reaction Luggage is constructed well, quite spacious, and really quite beautiful. It looks great but more importantly it serves my needs perfectly. As a graduate student I needed something to carry my laptop and documents in addition to the occasional textbook or two.

This bag fits everything very well and has extra pockets in front to keep my pens, cards, cell phone and other small items organized. I love that I can carry it comfortably over my shoulder or just in hand like a briefcase. It is appropriate for business and teaching related endeavors in addition to everyday school related usage.

Superb

By Alexander VorobievI have had the backpack for about 3 years and all I can say is it is very close to perfection. I had done a lot of research prior to buying it and it paid off. The combination of features it truely unique. The material is very sturdy and looks like new even after 3 years of daily use. I had read a lot of reviews about other nicely looking backpacks which were unusable after 6 months due to cheap (but beautiful) material. The laptop compartment has protection on _all_ sides including the bottom. My IBM T41 fits easily. The backpack is big but doesn't look like you are about to go mountain hiking - there is plenty of room for books, folders, lunch box etc. Cell phone pocket is a nice touch. There is a belt you can fasten if you have to run to catch a bus or a train. I only have two minor complaints. I wish it had better organizer for pencils, calculators etc - the one it has consists of 3 basic pencil holders which are not able to hold anything thinner than half an inch and two big mesh pockets. Another thing, I whish the outer pockets were better designed i.e. instead of one horizontal pocket it had two vertical ones and the side pockets were bigger to hold water bottle, small umbrella etc. I looked at other backpacks with better outer pockets but all of them weren't even comparable to this one in terms of all other features. 10 of 10 people found the following review helpful.

Excellent piece of equipment

By FoxThe Mobile Edge Premium Backpack is quite possibly one of the finest packs that have ever graced my shoulders. However, when I received the pack the color was not what I had in visioned. I bartered my pack to one of my close friends and immediately bought the exact same pack except in black/silver. Call me picky, call me OCD, it just seemed to suite her better than myself ;-). I will try to highlight all the points which sold me on this product, along with the discrepancies I find with the pack. Let's begin with the appearance.The pack is by no means a small backpack. It appears large because is capable on carrying a 17" laptop with accessories and a couple of college level text books. However, the pack appears to be designed to be low profile, similar to that of motorcycle equipment. This model in particular is very bright and vibrant. The color is described on the website as "green" however I found (along with several of my friends and associates) to be more of a yellow color. Due to the material used it was also quite reflective, an excellent quality for pedestrians and bicyclists. This is where one my one major gripe about the pack comes into play. The colors portrayed in the pictures are much brighter than they appear to be in pictures. The silver/black model I purchased following this pack is not very bright, though still reflective and thus aesthetically pleasing to me. This pack fits well on most people. My friend, whom I bartered the model to is on the shorter side and it still seems to work for her as well.Storage:There are two large storage areas which allow for most anything a student needs. There are several quick access pockets found on the exterior of the pack as well. Virtually every pocket has some kind of padding/protection, excellent for the tech savy who coincidentally, are paranoid about their gadgets.Overall its a very comfortable pack which can be worn very close to the body or with some slack. There is ample padding on the straps and back area to reduce vibrations and ensure a comfortable walk or ride. It is also nicely ventilated which helps to keep you from getting too hot. This is the best Notebook backpack I've ever owned.

By M. Dekker This is the Targus Sport Standard Computer Backpack Model #TSB215. It is the same as model Model #TSB212 (there is a picture of this type on the Amazon{.com} site) except that is has blue fabric where the Model #TSB212 has a platinum color. This ensures that this backpack doesn't look like your average computer bag and that is an added bonus if you ask me. The bag itself was designed by people who really know what is needed in a notebook backpack. Finally enough space to take something more than just a computer. You can add some books and there is plenty of space for all the wires/batteries/mouse etc. There are separate pockets all over and they are useful in size and lay-out. There is a variety of mesh pockets on the inside and they are fantastic for disks and smaller things. There is even a cell phone bag attached to front of the one of the straps that comes off if you don't need it. The notebook pocket is located right in the back in the largest compartment of the bag, and thus reducing the experienced weight to the absolute minimum. The notebook pocket is firmly padded and this pocket is suspended so when you put the bag down the notebook will not hit the floor. Overall I'm thrilled and since a variety of well-known brands have opted for this design to become their standard backpacks, I'm not surprised. Ideal Backpack

Great backpack, but watch the laptop fit

By Eric Wedel Bought a 15.4" laptop (Sager) and am in the market for a backpack. Ordered one of these and indeed it looks like a very nice backpack. However, a bit more than 2.25" of the laptop sticks out of the padded pocket in this "15.4 inch" backpack. The backpack can still zip closed, barely, but with only cordura covering that much of the laptop it really isn't suitable for placing in overhead bins and such. For what it's worth, the depth of the padded pocket appears to be roughly 12". There is an elastic/velcro band to hold the laptop in the pocket. Aside from fit this backpack appears great, just like the other reviewers say. But returned mine due to the lack of 15.4" laptop protection. With Black Friday 2011 drawing near, you may be wondering how to get the most out of your post-Thanksgiving shopping. It can seem overwhelming, but here are a few tips and a guide to help you take advantage of the best buys and avoid the worst ones.

1. Black Friday is one of the biggest shopping days of the year, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s always the best. Indeed, while many products will be deeply discounted on Black Friday 2011 to lure in shoppers and give retailers a boost in the competitive holiday buying season, others won’t be at their lowest prices until later on – some long after the holidays have wrapped.

“Black Friday is about cheap stuff at cheap prices,” says Dan de Grandpre, CEO at dealnews.com. "Appliances will be second tier. You might be able to get a cashmere sweater at Walmart for $15, but it’s not the same cashmere sweater that you’re going to get at Saks. It’s about cheap stuff in every sense of the word.”

2. The best Black Friday buys are going to be on less coveted items, such as dorm room furniture, seldom-used kitchen appliances like fondue pots, lower-end electronics, and non-brand name clothing. Luxury items, like brand name clothes, jewelry, and top-end electronics might be worth a longer wait.

3. Avoid being tied to a specific store. “No one store has the best prices – there will be hits and misses with each one,” DeGrandpre says. “Figure out the products you want, and then do your comparison shopping online before going out.”

4. Make use of the wide array of smartphone apps, which make comparison shopping and looking up inventory at specific stores a breeze – even while waiting in a long checkout line..

5. To get the best prices, you may be better off shopping from home. “So many of the doorbuster deals are on the websites,” de Grandpre says.

Does the prospect of doing your shopping from the couch seem a little unexciting? Happily, you can do your Black Friday shopping online and not miss out on the late-night rush of jostling through the crowds at the bricks-and-mortar stores: Many of the online deals are released in the middle of the night, and they tend to go quickly. Sign up for e-mail and “push” notifications for specific stores, and be ready to wake up.

What should you get on Black Friday, and which things are worth a longer wait? Here’s a rundown of some of the most popular gift categories:

Electronics

The TVs and laptops you’ll find deeply discounted on Black Friday are cheaper for a reason: they are generally more cheaply manufactured. “It’s a good time to buy a TV for a bedroom or a den, a laptop that will only be used for email,” de Grandpre says.

Amazon.com and Best Buy tend to go head to head in terms of competitive pricing on these items. This year at Best Buy, you can get a 42-inch Samsung HDTV for $200. But be sure to check Walmart as well.

Target, too, will reportedly have some of the best deals on HDTVs, including a 32’’ Samsung LCD HDTV for $287, as well as competitively priced gaming bundles (they usually include a console, controllers, games, and various accessories), which are key if you want to buy a gaming system over the holidays.

Black Friday is also the Apple Store’s only sale of the year. But the discounts tend to be modest. Cheaper Apple deals are usually available at third party retailers like MacMall and Best Buy, which bundle gift certificates with Apple merchandise.

Apparel

Deals on designer brands all but disappear on Black Friday, and you’ll notice that high-end department stores like Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue get pretty quiet. However, Macy’s has Black Friday deals on designer labels, including 50 percent off Calvin Klein and DKNY jeans, as well as 50 percent off a slew of winter boots from Marc Ecko, Nine West, and Steve Madden. If you aren’t concerned with labels, JCPenney, Sears, and Kohl's are all boasting deep discounts on clothing.

If you’re loyal to a specific brand, like Gap or Aeropostale, the best deals will be found online, on Cyber Monday. “Niche clothing brands will be stronger then,” says de Grandpre. Worried about buying clothes online? De Grandpre suggests going into the stores to try on items a few days early, then buying online later. “It will be difficult to get into the fitting rooms on Black Friday anyway,” he says.

Home Appliances

Black Friday is an excellent time to buy small kitchen appliances and other kitchenware, but, in keeping with theme of the holiday, it probably won’t be of the best quality. “It’s a good time to buy a cheap blender for a college student,” de Grandpre says.

Sears, for one, has lots of bargains on appliances that would make for fun gifts, including a $15 quesedilla maker and complete Magic Bullet blender set for $35. For the big appliances, head over to Lowe’s, where Black Friday prices on washer/dryer sets, stoves, power tools, and refrigerators are already available. Both Lowe’s and Home Depot are offering free delivery on major appliances, as well as haul-away of the old ones. One caveat: “Early” Black Friday pricing means that the item you want may be out of stock by Black Friday.

Jewelry

The holidays are among the worst times to buy jewelry, right up there with Valentines Day and Mothers Day. If you must buy it, however, the best deals will be on cheap items: low-carat diamonds, cubic zirconium, and costume jewelry. Sears has some of the deepest discounts, including 60 percent off select diamond jewelry.

Besides, do you want to live with the guilt of buying your beloved discounted diamonds in the first place?

Toys

It’s quite the Christmas spending category, and Toys “R” Us certainly put toys on the radar by clocking in with the earliest Black Friday opening time (9 p.m. on Thanksgiving night). But according to de Grandpre, the deepest markdowns on toys won’t be found until a few weeks after Black Friday, and the ideal shopping window is Dec. 7-20. “Stores like Target and Walmart will expand their toy section by several aisles at the beginning of the season, and then they will need to get rid of it all,” he says. But don’t wait too long: “A few days before Christmas, the prices will go back up, because those last-minute shoppers won’t have any other options,” de Grandpre says.

The exception is toys that are in particularly high demand, like a Leapfrog LeapPad Learning Tablet. It’s best to get those toys whenever they come in stock, or risk paying above retail on eBay or Amazon Marketplace. “For those items, the list price is the deal price,” de Grandpre says.

Travel

Let’s face it: Black Friday can be stressful, and afterwards, who wouldn’t want to skip town? Black Friday and Cyber Monday aren’t just for material gifts: The travel booking site Travelocity is offering a wide array of discounted airfares, hotels, and vacation packages that can be booked on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Need a suitcase? JCPenney is offering 50-60 percent off on several pieces of luggage during Black Friday, and Kohl’s has luggage sets for 65 percent off.

Big enough for my 17.3 Dell M6600 and have plenty of room for other stuff. I mean, really, plenty of room for many other things with different sized pockets. So happy I found this bag!!

By Rebecca I recently purchased an HP Pavilion dv7 series notebook with a 17.3" screen and didn't consider the difficulty I would have finding a bag in which it would fit. I'm in my late 30's and really wanted a messenger style bag as opposed to a backpack. This bag is a fantastic compromise between the standard, boring black suitcase bags (which seem to be the only ones large enough for my computer) and the college-style graffiti-art canvas bags for which I feel a bit too...ummm...mature. The colors are deep and intense (I love red!) and the design is just this side of not-too-girly. ABOUT THE FIT: My computer's dimensions are 16.2" x 10.9" x 1.7" and it JUST fits VERY SNUGLY in the provided black sleeve (which then JUST fits VERY SNUGLY in the bag itself). I'm just happy it fits!! I haven't yet tried to put much else in the bag (I just got it today), but I'll return and update this review once I've used it a bit and have a better idea about its practicality (thus, the reason for only four stars right now). Great Buy!

By Anna E. Stubbs I purchased the bag for my 17" laptop. The sleeve that came with the bag doesn't fit my computer, but without it, it fits nicely into the provided slot. It did take me a little bit to figure out how to arrange things, but most of my stuff fits into it. The zipper pouches in the front help for storing all the small things, and the accessories for the computer. There is a large pocket on the back. I get a few college sized books into it. Very comfortable to wear and I love the design. I have had many compliments on the design alone. Love this bag !!

By Olicea Arnold I absolutely love this bag! I placed the order Dec 9, & received it Dec 12. I have a 16 inch HP laptop which fits great in the provided sleeve. My only disappointment is that I also purchased the matching 17 inch sleeve which does not fit inside the sleeve provided with the bag. That's OK because I just remove the provided sleeve and use the matching sleeve. I have a 16 inch and a 15 inch laptop. Sometimes I put the 16 inch in the provided sleeve, & the 15 inch in the matching sleeve next to each other in the center compartment & carry both computers in this one bag when needed! The bag was a bit larger than I expected, but that's OK because it allows me to carry so many other things. It has so many extra pockets and compartments to hold pens, files, disks, cords, an ipod, cell phone, etc. There is a large center compartment for the computer. The center compartment also contains a zippered pocket. There is a pocket in the back to hold files or papers. Under the flap there are 4 separate large horizontal slots, other slots for pens, & a zippered mesh pocket. There is another large zippered compartment under the flap which contains a slot for a cell phone or ipod, 3 more smaller horizontal slots, and 3 more pen slots. The bag is so pretty-beautiful bright color, & made of high quality water resistant materials. It's very well padded which keeps my computer well protected. I like that it has "feet" on the bottom which allows the bag to stand upright. I also like that strap is padded, adjustable and very sturdy which is great when I need to carry my two computers together. Great travel bag. I LOVE a great bag!

This bag is all about the details. Really *Good* details.

I have a 15.6" HP laptop, with that bulky battery on the back, and wanted a bag that would let me put it in *without* having to take off the battery. This works perfectly!

I also wanted a bag that would work well for me for travelling with my laptop. This might not be the most conducive for going through security, but since they keep changing how we go through security... it's easier for me to be adaptable with a great bag. I like using a bright color for my travel stuff (luggage, etc.) to make them easier to spot.

I think the picture represents the colors very well. This bag appeals to me, because it wasn't boring black, and was a bit feminine (Red Blossom). I also like the light colored lining. Dark linings often end up being a black hole where I lose pens, jump drives, etc.

The connections that hold down the outside flap are perfect. Not time-consumingly awkward to open, but sturdy and secure. The zippers all seem to be heavy duty. The side pocket conceals a net perfect for holding a water bottle, or a compact umbrella.

The flat pocket hidden by the flap was a welcome surprise. I hate to carry a purse when I'm wearing a backpack, and this seems like a pretty secure place that would be challenging for someone to access without your knowledge.

The shoulder straps have some comfort padding to them, and there is also some shoulder and back padding... perfect, since the laptop would gouge your spine otherwise! It's not so heavily padded that you feel like you're wearing a pillow, or can't negotiate narrow places (crowds, etc.). Also, the handle on the top is a good design for picking up the bag without having to put it on.

This bag just seems very well organized, with lots of compartments and pockets for organizing the odds and ends. And *plenty* of space for some extra non-laptop stuff, without feeling like a sherpa on an Everest expedition. I LOVE a good bag, and this is great.

Absolutely Love It

I am very satisfied with the quality. When my laptop and books are in it, the weight it distributed evenly. The inside has two main compartments. The rear one has a space for a laptop and a space for other items (books, whatever). The front large compartment has a net that divides it into two. Besides the two small pockets visible just below the flap, there is one more thin one that has spaces for a cell phone, pens, and cards--you could also put papers, a little book, and other small objects in that pocket. I bought this backpack for it's look and ability to carry a laptop. I had no idea what kinds of pockets/compartments were in it, so I'm glad I get to tell others.

Perfect laptop backpack

Okay. First off, this thing is HUGE! I'm 5'7" and by no means a small girl. BUT, unless you're Mary Poppins and can make your 15"+ laptop fit in a smaller bag, then get a different bag. I have a Macbook Pro 15.4" with a neoprene case and it fits perfectly. Not too tight, not too loose when I put it in my bag.

Some things that I REALLY love about this bag are...
+ INCREDIBLY durable. This will last!
+ There are multiple secluded compartments. 2 zippered (laptop sized) compartments, 2 smaller (zippered/Mac charger sized) compartments.
+ WATERPROOF!

+ Modern snaps
+ The bottom of the backpack has hard plastic spikey-type panels to help your bag stay clean, upright, and not get worn out.
+ Comfortable straps and back-padding
+ Multiple security straps for across chest and waist. But, not too many where it's going to make you look like you're trekking across the Himalayas.-- whether you choose to wear them or not. They neatly tuck away so there's not straps dangling every area.
+ Sleek design (not bulky!)
+ VERY secure. You won't be worried that someone's getting into your bag.
+ Surprisingly spacious (you can carry a lot other than your laptop without it feeling like your stuffing the bag to capacity.

Only con: the size (on my back), but again how else are you going to carry a large laptop comfortably and securely?

Overall, I highly recommend this bag. I was weary about the cost, but this will last me a very, very long time.

Gorgeous backpack, Great protection

This Belkin Dash Backpack was more expensive than some other bags I was looking at, but once I got it in the mail, I knew I made the right choice. This bag looks great and is made really, really well.

The backpack is pretty simple in styling, it's deep gray and black with -- thankfully-- no ugly logos or netted fabric. It's got a non-skid black rubberized bottom which is very cool. I love that I can get away with using this for work, as well as hiking around town. This bag is seriously stylish.

I live in a rainy place, so real weather protection of my laptop is paramount. This backpack has kept everything inside perfectly protected, even at the zippers and seams. It is made very well, such quality.

The storage in this backpack is a huge draw. I can carry so much besides my laptop, like my papers, books and a lunch. I can put my wallet pocket in the zippered top pocket for easy access, or if I'm feeling paranoid, I can hide it in one of the inside security pockets. A bonus is that it's got a MP3 player holder in the backpack strap (w/ a magnet for ear buds). The straps are padded and wide, so they're comfortable and don't dig into my shoulders. Highly recommended to anyone looking for something like this.

I even got a 17" laptop in here, even though it's made for 16", though it was tight. The bag has so much space & pockets, you can't go wrong. It's expensive but think about what you're lugging around. This backpack is so nice I even use it when I'm not carrying around my laptop.

Nice Backpack for traveling use

This backpack is pretty well designed for traveling use with a larger size laptop.

What I like about this product :

- Padded laptop holder which could easily fit a larger sized 14" to 15" laptop
- Extra padding on the back for added comfort and better protection of the laptop
- Spacious front compartment which can hold 4-5 books

- Lots of extra zippered pockets (3 on the outside and 2 inside) for holding smaller items
- True water resistant which is great for traveling in all weather conditions

What could be better :

- The shoulder strap could use more padding for comfort
- Lack of water bottle holder
- Even though the product stated that it can hold a 16" laptop. It would be a very tight fit particularly for laptops with protruded extended-life battery,

High Quality and Useful

This backpack is pretty amazing, with lots of quality in its design and construction. I do a lot of traveling and I always take a backpack for all the things I want close-at-hand (laptop, books, crossword puzzles, paperwork, snacks, iPod, headphones, chargers, and lots of little things). For 20 years, I've used the same laptop backpack and have never seen one better enough to make me upgrade. But I have now moved all my "stuff" into this Belkin pack.

The construction is excellent, with heavy-duty zippers, good padding, strong stitching, good materials, and so on. The bottom is extra-strong and rubberized so if you set the pack down even where it is wet, the contents will be OK. My only (slight) complaint on construction is that the shoulder straps could use just a little more padding for extra comfort.

The design of this bag is quite excellent. I count 7 separate zippered compartments, from a few small ones to a couple medium sized ones to the 2 large ones that hold your laptop and other larger items. Inside the largest compartment are 2 full-size separators so that it holds not only your 16" laptop but also a large number of folders and papers. The next largest compartment is roomy with a large flat bottom. This will hold a hardback book, large headphones in a case, all your chargers, and lots of other items. There are lots of sleeves inside for holding pens/pencils, business-cards, and other small items. There's also a zippered net compartment inside for small odds and ends. Among the various smaller compartments is a zippered "security" compartment on the part that is worn against your back, for holding important items (passport, etc.) that would be difficult to steal while the backpack is being worn. Several more small zippered compartments are available for items such as sunglasses (at the top of the pack where they will be safer), and other small items you want to find easily.

On each of the shoulder straps are little slip-in holders. The one on the right is stretchable and I was able to put either my iPod or my iPhone into it. Magnets are cleverly positioned higher on that same strap and will hold your earbuds to the strap while they remain plugged into your MP3 player (but I haven't tried actually using those). The little sleeve on the left shoulder strap probably holds a smaller iPod Nano. One trouble with the iPod holder is that you can't see the screen or the controls, so you have to struggle a bit to remove it from the tightly-stretched pocket in order to change the music. I'll probably continue to keep my iPod on by belt.

Another feature that is hinted at by the Belkin tag attached to the new backpack is the ability to lengthen one of the shoulder straps (the left one, preferably) so that the pack can be carried almost like a shoulder bag, with easy access to the laptop. It's funny that the designers of the bag surely had specific uses in mind for many of the design features, but there is no information that highlights those features either (currently) here on the Amazon page, or with the pack.

About the only thing I would change on this backpack would be to replace the two outermost small compartment with a single one that is a little bigger. As it is, I have too much stuff in the one 2nd-largest compartment and I have to dig around too much to find things that are sitting at the bottom.

This bag is impressive in all aspects of its materials, construction, and design. It should meet the needs of just about every traveler that needs to carry a laptop (especially one with a large 16" screen) and paperwork and lots of travel accessories. It's also very good looking.

Awful design- Awkward and uncomfortable to use iPad when it's in the case

- the bluetooth keyboard itself works very well and is very easy to pair and use

- flat on a table, the ipad can easily be adjusted for various viewing angles

Cons
- the case is uncomfortably awkward to fold and unfold
- the case is very bulky
- the keyboard is glued to the case. would have been nice if it was removable (e..g with velcro) so the keyboard could be used without the case
- to use the keyboard the ipad must be in landscape position; there is no mechanism to allow typing in portrait orientation
- It isn't easy to slip the iPad in/out of the case. If you're not using the keyboard the shape and weight of the case make it very uncomfortable to hold the iPad for normal use.
- case does not fasten when closed

Great on the go.

Detachable keyboard and a bit less bulky look when closed would make this case perfect. On the other hand it is hard to make case with keyboard very thin (like an Apple smart cover). Otherwise it keeps iPad very tight, has multiple angles to use it wherever and I love the keyboard (smaller than regular one of course).
The iPad is well protected and case is thick yet soft and I don't have to worry about damaging it if dropped (I am still careful though).

If you typing a lot and take iPad outside the house this is good looking and well design folio. If you still more comfortable with regular computer/laptop and use it mainly for movies and web surfing on the couch I'd skip this purchase.

COOL! I Love It!

The BELKIN BLUETOOTH KEYBOARD FOLIO FOR iPAD 2 is a leather iPad 2 case with a bluetooth keyboard mounted inside. While the keyboard works just fine with the iPad 1, the case is a bit too narrow for the first-gen unit. I really have nothing negative to say about this product. The case seems durable and well-made. It has holes in all the right places for the iPad 2, including a camera peek-a-boo. The keyboard is responsive, but as with all keyboards, the feel of the keys is a matter of personal taste. I like the feel and no matter how you slice it, it's a dramatic improvement over tapping the iPad's screen.

Pairing the keyboard to the iPad was simple-as-can-be. In fact, I went crazy and paired it will the bluetooth computers in the house, including iPods and Windows PCs. No problems or issues with any of them.

Power for the keyboard comes from a rechargeable battery and the unit comes with a USB cable. It comes charged out-of-the-box and I haven't had to charge it yet.

The only negative I can think of is that I sure would have liked a touchpad. Without it, you have to reach for the screen whenever you need to click on buttons or do anything non-text related.

Otherwise, I love The BELKIN BLUETOOTH KEYBOARD FOLIO FOR iPAD 2!

Nice case, lightweight, fits well

By TennWriter I bought this case to replace a similar one from Targus that I bought about 10 years ago and for which the zippers finally wore out. This case is similar to my previous one but is less rugged. In particular, the fabric seems thinner and the bottom of the case lacks the reinforcing hard plastic bumpers that my old one had. On the plus side, this model is lightweight and fits my small-to-medium frame better than my old one did. (The straps on my old one seemed designed for a beefier person than me; they were set so wide that they tended to fall off my shoulders unless I cinched them up tightly.) And like my old one, this case has the internal air cushions that cradle the laptop and give excellent impact protection. My old case safely transported by venerable Dell across continents for many years; I hope this model endures so well. On the down side, I wish this case had more interior pockets. While it has plenty of raw space for things like chargers, spare batteries, calculators, and office items, there are few ways to organize stuff effectively. I wound up buying some vinyl zipper bags to segregate items within the accessory pocket. All in all, a nice case ... and the zip-through feature works great. On a recent trip through Atlanta and Miami International, TSA seemed knowledgeable about the zip-through feature and didn't balk at all, which saved me a lot of time and aggravation going through security. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful.

By perak This is the 2nd Targus backpack I have bought for my husband. I did a lot of research on various brands. He loves this one and it's reasonably priced. The style is simple but very functional. Very good quality and great for a lap top. Just what I needed!

Great so far

(2005) Two months with this bag an it's still getting me to school. I haven't had any reliability issues.
The good:
1) It'll hold everything. I carry so many books to school I used to carry a backpack and a laptop case. Now I just have this bag.
2) Big straps to hold the load.
3) Lots of compartments to help devide up and secure the stuff.
4) Padded back
The Bad:
1) Laptop sits between your back and your load. It's padded, but this doesn't stop the weight of the load from resting on your computer. It should be a hard case.
2) Big straps that are too wide to leave much room for flexibility in the arms.
3) Useless little mesh pockets.
4) Dividers aren't removable.

EDIT (Nov 2006): I've been forced to quit using this bag. After 1.5 years of heavy use with heavy loads, the main zipper gave out and tore away from the bag. Targus says they have a lifetime warranty, but good luck collecting. I still loved it and plan to get it fixed.

EDIT (June 10, 2007): Targuus seems to have lightened up on their warranty policy. Without a receipt, and without having registered, I was able to warranty this bag. Targus sent me a new one.

Very nice Notebook Backpack

I had been carrying my notebook computer in a standard notebook case (not a backpack) and began deciding to leave my notebook at home instead of deal with the discomfort of carrying it through an airport or large building. Someone recommended that I try a Targus backpack, and I have not regretted switching a bit.

The RG0322 Matrix is a great Backpack. The shoulder straps are well padded and distribute the weight very well. There is plenty of room inside to hold everything I need to carry with me, while not causing my arms to ache after a short walk with it.

I know people with other brands of notebook bags that have had problems with zippers coming apart. The zippers on this bag seem to be very durable, and after using it for about 6 months I have no complaints with the quality of construction.

When traveling on quick overnight trips the bag is roomy enough to carry my notebook and all it's accessories, any paperwork I need for business meetings, clothes and toiletries. It wouldn't replace a suitcase for a long trip, but for the quick overnighter, this is not a bad bag.

I thought I would feel uncomfortable replacing my 'briefcase style' notebook bag with a backpack. I was concerned that it might not look as business-like as it could. After I bought the Targus backpack I started noticing how many other business travelers also carried notebook backpacks, and realized my concerns were wrong.

The Targus Matrix backpack is a great product at a reasonable price. If I had to go back and do it again, I would buy the same thing.

Excellent Bag with LOTS of Space

I bought this backpack to allow myself to travel around my college campus and keep all my books and supplies with me. This bag is more than up to the challenge.

It will carry 3 2" 3-ring binders, 3 textbooks, 1 lab manual, 1 personal book, an endless barrage of cables, cords, and accessories for my computer, pens, pencils, and just about everything you could possibly need. The front flap is elasticized, which makes it very convenient for carrying thin, light-weight items like the daily paper, or a spiral notebook. Targus recommends this space for a jacket, but I feel that this space is a bit small, especially in colder climates.

One word of caution, however. The bag will hold a large load, but be careful not to carry too much, as this bag can probably hold more than most people can carry.

Great pack, great price

I bought this bag for use in college with my Toshiba Satellite laptop. I'm an engineering major and need my laptop with me about 90% of the time, and this bag fit the requirements almost perfectly. Able to store laptop, one textbook, one 2" binder, graphing calculator, calipers, safety glasses, various pens, smaller notebook. Wish I could fit another textbook so I didn't have to go back to my car, but that is not a reflection of this product, I should have looked into that. Recycled material is very strong and all stitching seems great so far. Good compartments for cables/USB devices too. Well-padded laptop compartment fits well and closes with a velcro strap across the top. As comfortable as a laptop pack can be, though I'm used to heavy loads. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase.

This backpack is wonderful. I wanted something that was easier to carry than the over-the-shoulder bags. This is it! It's not heavy and has great pocket space. It fits very comfortable and is well padded. A great gift for anyone - including yourself!

Great bag, nice features

Can't say enough about this bag ... it looks great, feels very comfortable on your back, and has many compartments and pockets to help you get organized. I bought the bag right before an international business trip and it was a joy to travel with. The only complaint I have is the zippers only zip halfway down so getting files in and out gets a little difficult once it gets packed. You can't fit many files in it but then again if that's what I was looking for I would have gotten a bigger bag. And it has the added bonus of being "green". This bag is perfect for the professional on the go. I love it and highly recommend it.
