It's time for our Kitchen Fun & Crafty Friday link party! We wanted to thank all of you for your kind words about my dad passing away last week. It was totally unexpected so we are still in a bit of shock. It's been a very tough last few weeks, but we are amazed at all of the love and support from our family, friends, & followers! I have made a lot of wonderful blogging friends and all of you have been so kind. We really appreciate all of your support!

We love all of you so much and we are thrilled to be able to Giveaway a T-Fal Actifry to one of our lucky readers! Have you heard or seen one of these? It's awesome!! We were sent a Actifry to try out and we love it!

The ActiFry from T-fal is a low fat multi-cooker and can be used as a healthy alternative to the traditional deep fryer. It features a removable ceramic-coated, non-stick pan, a transparent steam-free lid, pulsating heat technology and an automatic stirring paddle which ensures even distribution of oil in each meal prepared. Most things can be prepared in the Actifry with 1 tablespoon of oil!

The ActiFry also comes with a booklet full of recipes to make in the ActiFry. My boys were excited to try out potato wedges. I was too thinking how awesome to have something that makes a batch of potato wedges or french fries on such a little amount of oil! We made the Potato Wedges with Herbs & Spices. There are so many other recipes your can also make including appetizers, chinese food, veggies, pastas, meats, desserts, & so much more!

S'mores Sheep Pops

Most of you that have followed us for a long time know how much we love making s'mores pops! We have made a ton of them and we thought it would be cute to make S'mores Sheep Pops today! My boys loved them and they were super easy to make!

S'mores Sheep Pops

(makes 2)

Graham Crackers (we like Keebler)

1 Hershey Chocolate Bar

Mini Marshmallows (halved...we like Jet Puffed)

2 Marshmallow Bits

1 Jumbo Marshmallow

Chocolate Cookie Frosting

Black Edible Marker

Lollipop Sticks or Decorative Straws

Start out by cutting the graham crackers using a flower or round cookie cutter like this....

Cut a jumbo marshmallow in half and squeeze the chocolate cookie frosting on one side. Place on one graham cut out. Squeeze more frosting on top and then place the other graham cut out on top. Break off a piece from the Hershey chocolate bar and snip off the corners using kitchen scissors. Attach on the top using the frosting. Cut a marshmallow bit in half and attach on the Hershey piece for the eyes....

We colored the marshmallow bit halves with edible marker to make pupils. Cut the mini marshmallows in half and attach around the Hershey head using the frosting. We also broke off pieces from the chocolate bar to make feet & ears. Attach with the frosting. Poke in a stick and that's it!

This is such a fun treat for the kids and also a fun treat for them to help create themselves!

Dog House Lunch

I was going through our pictures today and found this fun Dog House Lunch that we made a long time ago and never posted on our blog. This is very easy to make & I remember my boys loving this!

Dog House Lunch

2 Pieces of Bread
Peanut Butter
Grape Jelly
1 Clementine
2 Edible Eyes

Cut off the crust from the bread and in the shape of a rectangle using kitchen scissors. Spread peanut butter and a little bit of grape jelly in between the slices. Use the crust or cut from a end piece to make the roof. Spread grape jelly on the outside to make a hole. Peel a clementine and save the peel. Cut the clementine in half and place the halves on the plate next to the dog house sandwich. Decorate the clementine halves by cutting the peel to make ears, legs, & face. We used edible eyes & a red sprinkle for the tongue.

This has been a crazy couple of weeks for us. My dad passed away a couple of days ago from a sudden illness so this is why we have not been posting a lot on our blog the last couple of weeks. We are still a bit in shock. I lost the greatest dad ever and we will miss him so much!

We did want to at least put up our Kitchen Fun & Crafty Friday link party. We always love to see all of the creations you have made!

Caterpillar Snack Wrap made with Heluva Good! dip

We were asked by Heluva Good! to come up with a recipe using 5 ingredients or less using one of their dips as part of their blogger contest. We also wanted to make something look fun for kids (of coarse!) so we came up with this fun Caterpillar Snack Wrap! This was a huge hit with my boys and it's so simple to make! This is also a great way to get your kids to eat spinach tortillas!

Heluva Good! provided us with their dips and we loved them all, but decided to go with the Black Bean Queso Dip. This was our favorite! We now also eat this in place of regular sour cream for burritos, etc... This worked perfectly in our Caterpillar Snack Wrap and it tasted delicious!! The best thing about this fun lunch is that you can use any of the Heluva Good! dips including Ranch, French Onion, White Cheddar & Bacon, Jalapeno Cheddar, Bacon Ranch, Buffalo Wing, Bacon Horseradish, & Bodacious Onion!

Heluva Dip! Caterpillar Snack Wrap

1 Spinach Tortilla

1 1/2 cups Chopped Rotisserie Chicken

3 tablespoons Black Bean Queso Heluva Good! sour cream dip

1 Tomato (haved)

Lettuce

Start out by mixing the chopped chicken, Heluva Good! black bean queso dip, 1/4 cup chopped tomato, & about 1/2 of a cup of chopped lettuce. Spread the mixture on a spinach tortilla. Roll it up and cut off the ends using a knife. Then cut the roll into slices. Place a large lettuce leaf on a plate. Line up the slices on a plate. You should have about 8 pieces. Take the cut off end pieces and cut out a circle using kitchen scissors. Place it on one of the end slices.

Cut the remaining tomato into strips. Then cut the strips into little legs. Place them on the bottom of the slices. We also made a mouth using a piece of tomato. We cut out antennas using the cut off end spinach tortilla scraps and press them in the top of the head. We made the eyes from small pieces of chicken.

The New Eggo Drizzlers Review!

I am sure most of you know that we are huge fans of Eggo waffles! My boys love them and we also love to make fun food using Eggo products. We tried out the new Eggo Drizzlers and these were a huge hit with my boys and I love them as well! The Strawberry & Blueberry Eggo Drizzlers are made with real fruit & taste so much better than syrup! They have 40% less sugar than traditional syrup! It's awesome that something with less sugar actually tastes way better than syrup!! They also come in other flavors.

You can just drizzle the flavor packets on the waffle or let the kids make a fun picture, shape, name, etc...We tried out the Stawberry & Chocolate Eggo Drizzlers.

They were both fantastic, but my favorite was the strawberry. I bet the strawberry would also make a great PB&J Waffle sandwich for lunch! We made a simple heart using the strawberry packet....

My boys loved the chocolate the most and we made a bear with the chocolate packet and some slices of banana....

We love how easy it is to create fun pictures with the packets and they are also such a nice change from syrup. The Eggo Drizzlers come in boxes with 6 waffles & 3 topping packets. You just toast the waffles like you would any other Eggo waffle & press on the packets with your fingers to warm it up a bit. That is what we did. You can also put the packet in a cup of warm water. Then you pull off the top of the packet and squeeze it onto the waffle.

The kids will have so much fun drizzling their flavors on the waffles! We can't wait to try the Blueberry Eggo Drizzlers! These will definitely be a new favorite in our house for breakfast!:)

We made another fun Dinodilla Mexican Dinner and this is such a fun & easy dinner to make the kids...especially little boys!

Dinodilla Dinner

2 Spinach Tortillas

Black Beans

Brown Rice

Shredded Cheese

Sour Cream

Start out by cutting out the head shape from the spinach tortilla using kitchen scissors. Use the head piece as a guide to cut out the other tortilla. We added black beans, brown rice, & shredded cheese in between the 2 tortilla cut outs. We microwaved it for 1 minute. We cut out the spikes with the scraps. We made eyes & teeth using sour cream. We used extra black beans for the eye & nose.

Reese's Baby Birdy Pops

We wanted to make something fun with our favorite candy Reese's so we came up with these fun Baby Birdy Pops! They are very easy to make. In fact...I was really trying to mess one up so I would have a excuse to eat it, but it didn't happen even when trying!:) Pretzels pair up well with Reese's cups so my boys really loved these!

Reese's Baby Birdy Pops

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups

Reese's Pieces

Mini M&M's

Pretzels Sticks

Assorted Sprinkles

Black Edible Marker

White & Chocolate Cookie Frosting

Decorative Straws or Lollipop Sticks

We started out by laying our wax paper and assembling the baby birds. We used yellow & orange Reese's pieces. We attached two of them together for the head & body using cookie frosting. We also attached assorted sprinkles for the beak & hair. We used yellow mini M&M's for the wings. We used mini star sprinkles for the feet. We made eyes using black edible marker. Let that dry.

Attach pretzel sticks on top of the Reese's peanut butter cup using the chocolate cookie frosting to secure. Once that dries squeeze a little bit of the frosting on the top of the straw or stick. Press into the bottom of the Reese's cup about half way through and place the stick in a juice glass to let dry.

Piggy Pancakes

We made these Piggy Pancakes several weeks ago and this is SO easy to make! Kids can help make this one themselves!

Piggy Pancakes

Pancake Mix

4 Chocolate Chips

Whipped Cream Spray

1 Piece of Bacon

Make a 1 large, 1 medium, & 2 small pancakes with your pancake mix in a pan on low heat. Cut out the ears with a small pancake using kitchen scissors. Place the large pancake on a plate for they body. Place the medium pancake on top for the head. Place the small pancake on top for the nose. Place on the cut out ears. We used whipped cream spray for the eyes and chocolate chips for the pupils. We also used chooclate chips for the nose. We cut a piece of bacon in half. We used one half for the tail and the other half we cut out little piggy feet!:)

Cinco de Mayo Cupcake Cones

We have had so much fun making our fun food creations for Cinco de Mayo this week! We came up with these Cinco de Mayo Cupcake Cones yesterday and my boys thought they were awesome! They are so easy to make and would be perfect for Cinco de Mayo parties! We used caramel corn rice cakes for the hats instead of cookies to cut down on the sugar. My boys love rice cakes...especially my 2 year old!:)

Cinco de Mayo Cupcake Cones

(makes 2)

Ice Cream Cones

Yellow Cake Mix (we like Pillsbury)

Chocolate Frosting

Rice Cakes (Caramel Corn from Quaker)

Large Marshmallows (we like Jet-Puffed)

Yellow Sprinkles

Tootsie Rolls

Edible Eyes

Chocolate & Red Cookie Frosting

Start out by making your cupcake cones. You can get full directions on how to make cupcake cones from our Creepy Cupcake Cones post for Halloween HERE! Let them cool when you are done baking. Frost the tops with chocolate frosting. We placed the rice cakes on a glass so we could easily decorate the edges using our red cookie frosting. Brush a little bit of water on the large marshmallows and dip in the yellow sprinkles. Attach to the sombrero using the red cookie frosting and decorate the sides. We decorated the face with edible eyes and broke off a piece from the rice cake for the nose. Place a Tootsie Roll in the microwave for 8 seconds. Cut it in half and shape the halves into a mustache. Attach with chocolate cookie frosting.

You could also just make the rice cake sombreros and these would be cute by themselves....

Cinco de Mayo Mexican Dinner

My boys loved our Cinco de Mayo Breakfast so much that we used our same idea to make this fun Cinco de Mayo Mexican Dinner! This was so much fun to make and they really loved it!

Cinco de Mayo Mexican Dinner

2 Whole Wheat Tortillas

Shredded Cheese

Black Beans

Yellow Mexican Rice

Tomato

Sour Cream

We cut around the edges of the tortillas into a smaller circle and saved the scraps to make the face details. Sprinkle cheese in between the two tortillas and microwave for 1 minute. We made yellow rice and then placed it on top for the sombrero. We used sour cream for the eyes. We used cooked black beans for the hair, eye brows, pupils, & mustache. We cut out the nose, eye lids, lips, & ears using kitchen scissors from the tortilla scraps. We cut a few strips from a tomato to decorate the sombrero.

Cinco de Mayo Apple Maracas

We love making Cinco de Mayo fun food and we came up with this super easy Maraca Apple Fruit Snack today! These would be fun for the kids at a Cinco de Mayo party and they only take minutes to make!!

Cinco de Mayo Apple Maracas

(makes 2)

2 Red Apples

2 Pretzel Rods

Cut around the apple in a zig zag shape using a small knife. Do another row and then pull off the peel with your knife. Cut the bottom of the core out using a knife and press in the pretzel rods!

These fun Fruit Maracas might not make music, but they sure are fun to play with! This is also a great way to get your kids to eat a healthy after school snack to celebrate Cinco de Mayo!:)

Earth Day PB&J Lunch

Earth Day is tomorrow and here is a fun lunch we came up with to celebrate Earth Day! This Earth Day PB&J Lunch is easy to make and fun for the kids! This is also a great way to get them to eat some broccoli!:)

Earth Day PB&J Lunch

2 Pieces of Bread

Apple Jelly

Peanut Butter

Green & Blue Food Coloring

1 Large Pretzel Rod

A few Pretzel Sticks

4 Green Grapes

Broccoli

Start out by cutting the bread into a circle using a round cookie cutter, glass, or kitchen scissors. Spread peanut butter in between the round slices. Scoop out 2 small spoon fulls of apple jelly in 2 small bowls. Tint one green and the other blue with a small drop of color. We added the blue jelly first for the water and then the green. Place it on a plate. We used a pretzel rod to make a tree. We used pretzel sticks to make branches and broccoli for the leaves. You could also used cucumbers, green grapes, kiwi, salad, etc... We cut green grapes in half for grass.

Bee Hive Fruit Snack

We have had record pollen counts here in Atlanta, GA with 8,164 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air!! There is yellow everywhere you look along with puffy eyes & sneezing! We thought this would be a good time to make a fun Bee Hive Fruit Snack and teach my 2 year old about bees! A great way to get your little picky eaters to eat some fruit for a after school snack!

Bee Hive Fruit Snack

1 Banana

4 Dark Grapes

1 Yellow Starburst

1 Mini Marshmallow

Slice the banana and place the slices on a plate in a hive shape. Cut the dark grapes in half. Place 3 halves on the bottom of the hive. Make bees with the other halves. We made our stripes by microwaving a yellow Star Burst for 6 seconds. Flatten out with your fingers and cut in strips using kitchen scissors. Place the strips on top of the dark grape halves. We also cut little pieces for the antennas. Cut a mini marshmallow in 4 pieces to make wings!

Note...Pineapples would also work well with this, but my 2 year old is a banana boy!:)

Earth Day Fruit Snack

Earth Day is coming up and we thought it would be fun to make a Earth Day Fruit Snack! This was so much fun to make and the kids will have fun creating this one themselves! It's also a great time to talk with your kids about our beautiful earth and all of the different countries!

Earth Day Fruit Snack

1 Green Apple

1 Blue Fruit Roll Up

2 Large Strawberries

Cut the green apple in half. Place it on a plate. Our blueberry fruit roll up came in thin strips. We got the Great Value brand at Walmart. Lay a few strips on the apples and cut around to shape the countries. Use kitchen scissors or a knife. We pressed on our scraps to shape the rest. Cut the strawberries in half and place them on the top to look like hearts.

Reese's Banana Bread Monkey Cake Pops!

Reese's peanut butter cups are a favorite in our house so we always have a good supply of them! We wanted to make something fun using our mini Reese's cups so we came up with these Reese's Banana Bread Monkey Cake Pops! My boys absolutely LOVED these and they taste amazing!!

Reese's Banana Bread Monkey Cake Pops

1 Loaf of Banana Bread (recipe below)

1 Container of Pillsbury Vanilla Frosting

Reese's Peanut Butter Chips (2 bags)

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Miniatures

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Minies

Edible Eyes

Caramel Bits or Reese's Peanut Butter Chips

Lollipop Sticks or Decorative Straws

Banana Bread

(our favorite recipe)

2 eggs, beaten

1/3 cup milk + 1 tsp vinager

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 1/2 mashed bananas

1 1/2 cups white sugar

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 325. Spray one 9x5 inch loaf pan with non-stick spray coating. Blend together the eggs, buttermilk, oil and bananas. Sift together the sugar, flour, baking soda and salt. Add to banana mixture. Pour into prepared loaf pan and bake 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean.

Once the bread has cooled you want to cut off pieces of it into a large bowl and mash it up using a fork or mixer. You can also use a blender. Mix in the container of vanilla frosting. Shape 1 1/2 - 2 inch balls and place them on a pan lined with wax paper. Place them in the fridge for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Melt the Reese's peanut butter chips in the microwave for 30 seconds and stir. Microwave additional 20 seconds at a time until melted. Do not overheat! Dip a lollipop stick or straw in the melted chips and then push on a cake ball like this...

Then dip the banana cake pop in the melted chips and cover using a spoon. You can place them in a glass or anything you have to set them up straight to dry.

We attached Reese's Minis for the ears. Reese's Miniatures for the nose (cut them in half first so they do not stick out too much) and edible eyes using the melted chips to attach them. We used caramel bits to make the nose, mouth, & inside of the ears. However, you could always pipe this one with the melted chips.

These are also amazing without making the monkey's. One of the best cake pops we have had!!

Cinco de Mayo Breakfast

Cinco de Mayo is coming up in just a few weeks and we have always loved making fun food for Cinco de Mayo! We came up with this fun Cinco de Mayo Breakfast the other day and my boys thought this was so funny! Very simple to make and the kids will love it!

Cinco de Mayo Breakfast

Pancake Mix

2 Eggs

2 Pieces of Turkey Bacon

1 Mini Marshmallow

2 Mini Chocolate Chips

Make a large pancake with your pancake mix in a pan on low heat. Place on a plate. Make another small pancake and cut out the nose & lips using kitchen scissors. We beat 2 eggs and poured them in our pan like you are making a omelette. We cut out the hat & maracas using our kitchen scissors. We microwaved our turkey bacon and place on piece on the face for a mustache. We cut out strips from the other piece to decorate the hat and maracas. We cut a mini marshmallow in half for the eyes and used mini chocolate chips for the pupils.

Super fun to make and my boys really loved this!

Panda Pie Pops

Pillsbury asked us to come up with some fun pie pop ideas and we are on our last day sharing our pie pop creations! We made these Panda Nutella Pie Pops and my boys loved them!! I am sure the Nutella filling was a big part in why they loved them so much!

Pillsbury Pie Crust

1 Egg Beaten

Preheat the oven to 375. Roll our your pie crust. We used a round cookie cutter to cut the bottom of the panda face. Leave the top and cut that part out with a knife to shape the ears. Take that piece and use it as a guide to cut out the rest. Cut out the eyes and also use that piece as a guide for the rest....

Cut out a mouth. We took the cut out pieces and cut out the centers to make the inside of the eyes like this....

Place the panda cut outs on a cookie sheet lightly sprayed with cooking spray. Spoon on Nutella in the center. Press in a lollipop stick. Place the panda face on top and then the centers of the eyes. It will look like this before baking....

Bake for about 15 minutes until lightly browned. Here is a close up....

Note...we were going to use mini chocolate chips for the pupils, but forgot. You could add this after the pops are baked attaching with cookie frosting. Looks cute either way.

Princess Wand Lemon Star Pie Pops

We were asked by Pillsbury to come up with some pie pop ideas and we are on day 3 with sharing our pie pop creations! We wanted to make something for the girls so we made these Princess Wand Lemon Star Pie Pops! These are very easy to make and taste so good! Would be super cute for a princess party!

Princess Wand Lemon Star Pie Pops

Pillsbury Pie Crust

Jarred Lemon Curd or Pie Filling

Star & Yellow Sprinkles

1 Egg (beaten)

Lollipop Sticks

Preheat the oven to 375. Roll out the pie crust. Cut out star shapes using a star cookie cutter. We also cut out a small star from the middle using a mini star cookie cutter like this...

Place the stars on a baking sheet lightly sprayed with cooking spray. Spoon on the lemon pie filling in the center. Press on a lollipop stick. Place the other star with the mini cut out in the center on top. If the stick is showing just spoon a little more lemon filling over it. Brush on the beaten egg on the tops and then with yellow sprinkles. Bake for about 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

We also slipped our Star Pie Pops in decorative straws to give them a more colorful look!

Puppy Pie Pops

Pillsbury asked us to come up with some fun pie pop ideas so we will be sharing some this week that we have created! We made these Puppy Pie Pops and my boys loved them! Pie pops are easy & lots of fun to make! Kids seem to really enjoy them and it's a nice change from cake pops.

Puppy Pie Pops

Pillsbury Pie Crust

Jarred/Canned Pie Filling (we used strawberry)

Regular & Mini Chocolate Chips

Chocolate Cookie Frosting

1 Egg

Lollipop Sticks

Preheat the oven to 375. Roll our your pie crust. We cut out heart shapes using a heart cookie cutter....

Then cut out one 1 ear using a knife. Use that piece as a guide to cut out the other ears...

Place one heart on a pan lightly sprayed with cooking spray. Then place on the ears. Cut out some small pieces from the pie crust to make a tongue & nose. Now place on the tongue. Fill with the pie filling and then press on the stick in the center. Top with another heart cut out then use a lollipop stick to seal the edges. Beat 1 egg and brush the tops. Now place on the nose. This is what it will look like before baking....

Bake for about 15 minutes until lightly browned. We attached chocolate chips for the eyes and mini chocolate chips on the face using the chocolate cookie frosting.

We slipped out Puppy Pie Pops in decorative straws to give them a more colorful look!:)
