I've always wanted to go to Paris and Italy. I learned French in school and still read magazines in the language and yet I always felt like I wanted to learn Italian but with what time? The idea of sitting in a class definitely didn't make me feel comfortable and then I began to think about Rosetta Stone. I had always heard that it was a software that was easy to learn, visual and it allowed you to interact with it. So the mobility and being able to learn at my own pace while doing it in a natural way was a huge bonus and I knew that if I were to pick it up, this would be the best way. Now, this is going to be an ongoing series of posts which will fall on every other Friday! This week is the only week that you will not see a video with me using and speaking it so you can definitely see my progression! But what I felt was an essential point to understand before seeing me work with the software was the screenshots and the common ways that you learn the language. First, I love that they break words down and after they introduce you to vocabulary they will have a series of pictures and the speaker will say "una bambina" which means a girl. But this means that you have to click on the image that makes sense with the words. If you're right you go to the next one and if you're not you continue to click to find the next one. Upon clicking the right image, the words are said again. I found myself while finding and hearing the answer - saying the words along. This leads me to my second screenshot - pronounciation. I don't have to worry if I'm pronouncing it right as there are screens that require you to take the word "bambina" for instance and to break it up into "bam" and "bina". Not only do you get to see the vocal patter of the speaker but you also get to see yours and when you're not saying it right you have a better indication of where your pattern is versus the instructor's. This is essential as you need to know the flow of how these portions of the word are said as you will use them within other words and this is where you become stronger as a speaker. Finally, my favorite part are the scenarios. In the last screen shot, a couple are saying hello and you are required to answer back to them! Once again if you're right you move on and if you're not, you continue to say the right phrase until you move on. I have moved slowly through learning the language and I enjoy going to the manscreen to see what my lessons within a certain section will entail. I love typing out certain words when required and you really feel that you have a grasp of it and that you're retaining it. Click on the link within the spread to learn more about Rosetta Stone! In addition, every other Friday you'll see me use this at home, out and about and finally while I'm in Italy which will be later on this fall! I have enjoyed the experience so much that other languages that I want to pick up will also be learned in this manner as I feel it's not only effective but a lot of fun. Who doesn't have around 45 minutes to learn something and whether you're going to Italy or want to say your favorite meal at an Italian restaurant, it definitely comes in handy!

In an ongoing series, Keren Weinstein, our Guest Life-Balance Editor, took a much needed trip. More than the need to go on vacation to a new locale, she wanted to find her own sense of balance and thus Project Detox began. Thankfully, Keren will share her journey which will provide a little insight into our needs of finding our equilibrium.

The boys are in a different time zone and I have confirmation that they are more than OK! and are actually having a fun’tabulous father-n-son bonding vacation.

Perfect.

Being on the cusp between genuinely happy for them and envy of their time together without me is exactly the point where I can truly allow myself to disconnect and have a guilt free solo trip for Me (remember, I have to chuck Universal Mommy Guilt out before I depart on my first adventure and I am a Jewish mother…so pressure’s on).

It is amazing how the Guilt naturally gets swallowed up by the fact that they are having a better time there and you know your son has a smile on his face even without you around.

Mommy Me time has officially started.

Ever notice when you choose to set an Intention for yourself the world opens up to you as if you are wearing 3D glasses with that Intention?

We have all clipped out a limited edition (AKA Must Have) LV handbag or Gucci Boots from Harper’s Bazaar, hung it up at our desks and noticed that somehow they made their way to our closets.

This is not a new concept by any means and has been around way before me from Kabalah to the Secret but for a full-time working mother on a mission to restore balance into her life this self-taught-via-experience concept could not come at a better time.

The above picture, and one that captures the essence of what I set out to do on Project Detox, was created by an amazing producer in L.A that I met up with (co-founder of unitenow.org). In this picture, over 4,000 school children from Los Angeles spelled out “Restore Balance” on a beach in celebration of the 12th Annual Ocean Day Kids’ Adopt-A-Beach Clean-Up. No, my Intention did not get this amazing project with 4000 kids to happen but it did bring me to meeting up with Mark and literally stumbling upon the work he created that captures the energy of my Intention for Project Detox – to restore balance.

Yesterday I dropped by my friend's office and although I had something to talk to her about, I'm glad she interrupted me and asked my opinion of a shoe that she was designing. Who knew that Timberland had a design your own shoe? Mingling Mondays ~ Ben & Jack's

The Friday prior to Fourth of July, I was invited to Ben & Jack's Steak House which just opened on 5th Avenue. I love that Ben and Jack are two brothers that worked various positions within the restaurant industry and were waiters at famed Peter Lugar's. Now I have never been to their uptown location; however, I tend to enjoy going downtown to eat at sister restaurants as they tend to be less corporate which is a positive for me. On this Fri, my Food Editor, Paul Belobritsky, and I settled into the restaurant which was much bigger than I had suspected. I love that the main level looks back at the bar and a cute atrium. If you go upstairs, there is another spacious area where additional people can sit with another bar. But in addition to additional seating, there are rooms that can be rented out. This is perfect during Fashion Week if you want to take out your Creative Designer, PR Teams, etc as they are perfect for groups of 10 - 12. If you're doing a larger event, then maybe you would consider booking the entire upstairs area. Sitting on 5th Ave, this is the perfect area that's close to Madison Park, Flatiron, Chelsea, etc.

The first thing that I have to say was the best part of my experience is the fact that most of the staff was not aware that we were from Kitten Lounge. Typically, when people know I'm coming, we find the staff to be extremely attentive, we're offered items that aren't on the menu etc. We entered the restaurant and we were the recipients of genuine attention. I can't say how nice it is to have various staff attending to your table and never having to look up to get a refill of your water, extra bread and more. I felt that this attention was analogous to being on a cruise ship where people are very attentive without feeling like you're being intruded upon. Whether you're here for a dinner among friends or you're impressing your staff, this is a perfect place to consider.

To start out, we enjoyed the best Great Neck Oysters which were quite large and we had the Crab which was also refreshing. The Great Neck Oysters were my favorite as they didn't have a fishy taste and once again the size was perfect! This is a must to start off the night. For dinner, Paul had the Filet Mignon (which I sampled and loved the taste but I am not a fan of the rare that he requested) which he asked to be rare but felt that it came back Black and Blue. I enjoyed the Sea Bass which I was pleased to find that it didn't have the butter sauce with it as I find that to be a very distracting flavor. The sides are very generous and are family style. We had the creamed spinach - very tasty although not as cheesy as I'm used to and then the Mashed Potatoes which were heaven (as you know I love Mashed Potatoes). For dessert, I enjoyed a very generous portion of Raspberry Sorbet with their very own (made from scratch whipped cream) and Paul had Tiramisu with their whipped cream as well.

With a relaxed atmosphere and with the attentive staff, the dining experience is a must! I couldn't help but think of those in fashion and entertainment who want to have a nice dinner that is equidistant to those that may be coming all over the city in order to have a meal together. Whether it's a post Fashion Week, Coterie, Project or meal prior to a CD launch, Ben & Jack's Steakhouse is the perfect place to hold these functions and more without having that ultra corporate feel while retaining a gorgeous atmosphere. If you're visiting the city, this is a must as well! There's no excuse for not bringing in nature to your home! I love that no matter whether you live on 5 acres or in a shoe box, you can always add plants! As many of you know, I love knowing what a brand was like before it was something that we all considered drool worthy of being within our closets! I enjoyed reading The Towering World of Jimmy Choo and loved learning about the importance of proper financing and maintaining the creativity of a brand in order to ensure that it can compete effectively amongst companies that have a deep rooted heritage. Another favorite designer of mine is Chanel! I love her timeless quality and of course I have always been curious to know more about what she was like and how she was inspired to create this amazing brand. So you're about to go out and you realize that you totally want to have the perfect look without making it seem like you spent too much time. My favorite look is a cute pair of jeans, a simple tank top and a pair of cute heels. This look can just have a bangle, ring, a few necklaces etc but what about your hair? There are times when I want to add a little subtle something and thankfully, Oribe Hair Care has the 24K Gold Pomade. I love that you can put this on your hair whether it's wet or dry (although you need to make sure that you're careful as this will turn your clothes gold as well). It's so easy to get the golden look whether you're hair is up or down. I love dipping my fingers into the pomade and just dabbing little bits on my hair just so that you had enough of a shimmer. As of two weekends ago, I pretty much work out in Aerie (this is a great brand from the brainchild of American Eagle) only! I love that it's fashionable and if you live in Long Island and are near Roosevelt Field Mall, you should pop in as there is an entire store that just has Aerie in it (can I say I love the swimwear and coverups too)! I got hooked when I was with a friend in Chicago and saw that they had great discounts and the pieces were super comfortable! I love the song, which definitely puts a lump in your throat and I love the fact that you see the fans and get to hear about things that Michael did that people may not know. The Game says that it was MJ and Diddy who basically worked towards creating peace between him and 50 Cent. Last night, driving thorugh Brooklyn, we heard so many parties playing his music that it definitely felt appropriate to include this as today's post! In essence, it's the city's birthday which is actually very cool. I love the Fourth of July and the fact that it's tomorrow, my boyfriend and I have decided that today will be a shopping day! I love when he decides to shop as that means we will have to make some stops at a few places to have a drink every now and then. Now when it comes to themes, I know people will want to find ways to wear red, white and blue without making it look like it comes off as a costume. So for all of those who will be at rooftop parties or anything of that nature, I though a simple white dress would be a nice look. Then, build your love of red and blue with your accessories. You have to decide are you a blue or a red person? I decided that I love blue so I would rather my purse have this color and allow my jewelry to bring in the red. I also love sapphires as this is my birthstone and didn't want the blue clutch to seem like an after thought so I brought in the necklace. You could do the same thing if you're a red person and just switch up the colors. Either way, this is a great Americana palette while also being perfect to wear with other item! We've all hit the gym, been out in the sun or had a night out at the bars. I'm flying back today and I believe in the ultimate comfort! I love a large bag that is not only a carry-on but holds a number of items that could get lost in the charity. My rule when I travel, to keep it simple cute leggings, skinny jeans and a top are going to be the best ways to be comfortable and look great. This is even more important when you're meeting new people, rekindling old friendships or simply want to continue your trip as soon as possible. A scarf is a great way to bring in some color! I am such a bedding fan! I spend a lot of time in my bedroom - hey keep your mind out of the gutter, there are plenty of things to do! It's my escape when there's way too much going on, I watch all of my Bravo Reality TV Shows and so much more. There is something about having an inviting bed! My absolute favorite is the one on the upper left from Anthropologie. All the ruffles make it like a creamy relaxation spot. Whether you're all about minimal or you're about bringing pops of color, what you do with your bed is completely up to you. Just remember that just like you spruce up your wardrobe, you'll want to do the same with your bed whether it's changing it up with the duvet or adding some cute accent pillows.

Today I'm waking up in Chicago! It was time to leave NYC and check out some other areas now that the weather is warmer and although I have a lot on my agenda for such a short time, I can't wait for the Indie Designer Market which is today and tomorrow! This is a great time to check out and to purchase pieces from indies while supporting the idea that we want these individual designs to thrive! I'm excited to see Objets d'Envy as I have been posting about this amazing jewelry line since I first found out about it! To finally meet Kristin and to purchase an amazing Swarovski Crystal piece in person - priceless! But I'm not there just to see those who I write about it! I also want to share with you the next best thing whether it's fashion or accessories! If you live in the area, you're fortunate to have this go on throughout the entire summer - so no excuses when it comes to supporting these artisans and if you'll be in the city and are looking for something of interest, then this is it without a doubt. Fashionable Fridays: The Tale of Two Icons

I remember the early days of growing up by shows. I loved Wonder Woman - you would find me running around with a towel around my neck and clanging my wrists together watching my favorite super hero getting the bad guy and looking fabulous. She was my walking talking Barbie doll who could do anything and be anywhere. Then you had my other two loves Charlie's Angels and Michael Jackson! Forget about the fact that Farrah Fawcett was only in one season of Charlie's Angel's! I loved that she had that California girl next door quality. She was beautiful and yet it didn't go to her head - don't even get me started on her hair and the easy going smile! It was through her that I loved the idea of looking very put together and yet having that windswept look. Women to this day run to get that hair and easy sense of style. She will be missed and it's sad to know that I heard her pass yesterday morning! Twitter was full of activity as a huge icon passed last night! 50 years old and with a tour in the works (I even read that he was working on a move that would eclipse the moonwalk or even his gravity defining lean) - Michael Jackson passed away. I'm from Indiana as is Michael and just to be clear, I am only speaking of him as an entertainer and performer - he was the best! He sang, he created mini movies with his videos and knew how to be true to his style even as it changed around him with the increase of rap, alternative and hip-hop! MTV gained a lot of their audience base from his "World Premier Videos". Yet, he continues to make these videos that everyone would crowd around the tv to watch as it premiered on MTV (although earlier in the day they would play videos about how fans loved him, previous material and more). He taught me a lot! It doesn't matter where you come from but if you have a gift, it can be shared and you don't have to work it into what the trend is - be your own trend. When it came to fashion, Michael, yet again had his own take. Who else could wear socks where everyone knew he had very white ones that his pants didn't cover? He made the arm band chic and yet added an element of military to it - what exactly was he fighting against? He made sequins cool and he knew that the right jacket - oh yes the Thriller jacket - could set off an entire look (I remember going to school with a kid with a Gizmo backpack and a Thriller jacket - he was the coolest of the cool in first grade). I sat at home with my View Finder flipping through the scenes of Thriller and always freaking out when I got to the part where he was the werewolf! But he knew about the power of theme and accessories! Whether he rocked black and white, a cool hat or a sequined glove, people rocked the style. With so many performers that tip their hat to Michael, he will never be forgotten. His body of work will continue on with songs that continue to be relevant and placed in a period of time where we all suspended our disbelief! Farrah will continue to be known as that girl from next door who had just the right mix of sexy, cool and spunk that you would want as a bestie and at the same time as the crush that if you got up enough courage would say yes! RIP to two icons that exist within and outside of their generation!

I love that the idea of baby wipes isn't just for those adorable bundles of joy! Jamar Labs not only wants to make sure that you're clean but that it's safe for you as well! Wearable Wednesdays: Project Detox & #CommunityChallenge

I'm so excited to temporarily break from our normal fashion lineup to share information about a friend who is launching an amazing site that is being launched with it's first focus: Project Detox. We may be in different life stages but all of us juggle a million balls at once and we may find that one of two things happen - we have no time to simply breathe or our personal/business goals seem to go on the back burner. Maybe you're all about your day job as you love a challenge, but when you leave the office, you're running to do your second gig - where you hope to become a pastry chef full time! These are situations that we have to deal with and I feel that it's important to share these issues on the site from time to time. So, before I introduce a soon-to-launch blog about infusing balance into every day life and filled with philosophies that I share, I am creating a challenge that started last night on Twitter that some of you may have seen.

There's a lot of talent out there and yet, in many cases, it's much easier to think of a million things you want to do while you watch time slip away. We all have excuses, but when you finally get going whether it's beginning to put your plan down or getting research done, you realize your idea has possibilities. Much like when you're exercising, it's a lot more fun to do it when you're in groups, I have created The Community Challenge which allows everyone to begin thinking of something that they have always wanted to do whether it's creating an entirely new business or launching a new component of one. From now until July 1st, send your Tweets to @cocoabebe stating - "I'm launching my own tote bag line #CommunityChallenge" or "We're adding new product assortment to our site for fall #communitychallenge". Starting July 1st we will work together in getting to our goals and finding resources to get it done! By Sept 1st, let's evaluate where we are and hopefully you've made a lot more progress and gotten beyond the "wouldn't it be nice" phase.

Each week via Kitten Lounge, I will share places to find resources such as great PR tools that you can utilize (I suggest PR Couture), look at how to create an easy but well rounded business plan (Lauton Chronicles), what social networks work best for what you're trying to do (Sikara Designs Group) and much more. Kitten Lounge's fan page will be updated to have a forum where you guys can exchange ideas as well. Feel free to Tweet your progress or get assistance from others as this is a challenge but one that we are all in together so that we can be successful but also fulfilled in our daily lives.

Recently my friend Keren, who has worked within the beauty and fashion industry for over a decade and who has worked with amazing brands like L'Oreal Paris to styling for Celebrities and Photo Shoots, told me that she wanted to provide insight into what it means to have the elusive life balance whether you're running multiple companies or are balancing being a mother who works full time but still wants to achieve a number of goals. I timed #CommunityChallenge for today as it worked well with the launch of Keren's blog and Journey which begins tomorrow. Throughout her week away, she will travel to various spas in the west coast in Arizona and California and they will be included within future Trendy Thursday posts to include within our beauty segment. I'm so excited to bring Keren in as a Guest Life Balance Editor, here on Kitten Lounge! She is definitely the essence of what #CommunityChallenge means - someone who works in the fashion industry, is a mother and comes with a lot of experience and know how; however, she is pulled in a million directions and is 'off-balance'. It took her hubby and son traveling overseas for her to not only take some much needed Me Time to travel but to finally get her interests on the table as well. Sure it’s only 7 days, but in Mommy Years--where one hour of Me time is like a full day massage B.K. (Before Kids)--this trip will feel like a lifetime and be life changing!

Step Four: Chuck-out before you Check-in.

Chuck the Universal Mommy Guilt at the airport & know that your little one's perspective of Mommy Years offsets your own. One hour of quality time with the Real you is better for him than 2 full days of being with the stressed, busy & overworked version

Step Five: Explore. Infuse balance into every part of your being. Get inspired ...& inspire!
