Lauren Weisberger Second Hand Books Are Hard To Sell? Really? -

2012-02-27T12:22:00.001+08:00

~~I've been having two books by Lauren Weisberger :~~

*Update

I don't have them with me anymore! Wee! Finally, I'd given it away to my dear friend and I'm not sure if she's going to read it because she did mentioned that she has loads of new books which she has not the time to read just yet. Haha. I added on that she could give it away to her friends or sell them if she wanted to and keep the money. :)

I'm so happy and relieved to get these books out of the shelf. Ok what is coming up next??

Chasing Harry Winston Second Hand Book for sale

Everyone Worth Knowing by Lauren Weisberger - second hand book for sale ASAP!

I'm still waiting to see if anyone is interested to buy these books. I don't think it is a good idea to donate these to home for kids or anything kids related. Hehe.

For those who are interested to read chic lits, for you to be a able to read anything by Weisberger is for you to be at least 18 year old above. I could have sold the books to much younger readers but it just doesn't sound right to stuffs teenagers with some adult reading. Yes, I would say, Lauren Weisberger writes chic lits for adults. :)

And at this moment, I only have 2 books by Lauren that seriously needed to be gone (sell) from my shelf. My chic lit reading days are over. I don't seem to gather anything valuable to life from reading them. Hehe.

But if you are still young and love to read stories about other young women lifestyle, probably this is the book for you. And if you are interested to get your hands on them, do get back to me. Comment away below and probably I can sell it off for you for dirt cheap. :)

Lauren Weisberger Second Hand books I really need to let go! Do you want to buy them?

2011-12-01T15:52:00.000+08:00

The days where I only lay my hands on Chic Lit are virtually over. I guess I'm too old for such books right now. Hehe. I even began to re-read the two books that I have by Lauren Weisberger which are the Chasing Harry Winston and Everyone Worth Knowing.

After the quick flip through on pages, I realized that Chic Lit can somehow or rather mess up with your head. It's a ...err..probably rather fun to read it when I'm in my early 20's but I don't think it channels just the right influence or attitude to the younger ones. Haha. I wouldn't say the book is bad or anything it's just that, I'm more into serious reading these days. I would rather stick to books for business, money and real estate than reading back to back on Chic Lit.

So right now, if you have been dying to get your hands on Lauren Weisberger books which is other than The Devil Wears Prada ones, this is your chance to grab this book right now, from me! Seriously I just want it to be cleared from the bookshelves. Hehe.

Drop me a comment if you are interested to buy these books :

Big Bad Wolf Books - The Biggest Book Sale in The World ( at least in KL :))

2011-10-08T16:43:00.000+08:00

Oh yeah, the Big Bad Wolf Books is back again for this year 2011 with their 'Biggest Book Sale in The World'. Any of you bookworms storming the place yet???

I'm currently not located in KL, so I suppose it isn't going to be economical for me to get down there just so that I can probably get some books for real cheap at an average price of RM 8. So, yeah, I'm not going to be there to join the 'fun'.

The Big Bad Wolf Book sale started yesterday on October 7th until the 16th of this month. I did ask around at their Facebook wall if there will be books by Richard Branson - Losing My Virginity, The 4-hour Workweek by Tim Ferris and a couple of other books by Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki on sale but I didn't get any answer from anyone. Hence, I'm guessing, probably those books are just not available and from what I'm seeing at the photo albums in Big Bad Wolf Book's FB, there are certainly a lot of chic lit books that I've read and had even sold most of them out to people.

From what I'm briefly seeing, I don't know, probably there isn't really much of a variety of books that you can get at this 'biggest' book sale in the world. But then again, I really don't know because I'm not there to observe and be amongst tonnes of people, brushing shoulders and grabbing on books because they are cheap. Haha. You see, crowd isn't really my thang and I would rather choose online purchasing or get an ebook than going to 'big sales' like this.

Anyways, if any of you people have already been there on the second day of the book sale, do tell me what books that you get and are there really a lot of varieties that you can choose from? And is it really worth the trouble to get there and buy the books? Let me know what you think of the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale for this year!

E-book VS Real Books

2010-01-22T13:59:00.004+08:00

When E-books and Real books compete, I'm supposing E-books win hands down. Well at least for me, E-books shall win regardless. Here are some top reasons why E-books are getting more popular among general readers:

1. It's easy to purchase an e-book and you will receive your e-books immediately after payment has been made. All thanks to the power of the internet and online book sales.

2. If you don't fancy buying your books and are running a little bit low on cash, you have another alternative of getting your e-book which is to search and download books for free. Simply run a search on "book title + free ebook download" and pray that you'll somehow find a link to click and download for free.

I have to admit, it takes a little extra searches before you can find that 'free download links'. Some shareware sites need you to register as a member and some fees are needed. That's the kind of site you need to stay away from if you are wickedly frugal and really want to get that must-have e-book of yours for the FREE! Be patient on this one and you'll get your free e-book download somehow.

3. Some people don't really enjoy reading right from their computers and there is a solution for that. For years now, they are readily available in the market what is known as an eReader or in short it's a plain portable device that allows you to read your e-books at a go without literally have any laptop to read it. You can easily stash any eReader in your bag or handbags and it's really that mobile.

Personally, I really love the eReader version from Barnes and Nobles called as the Nook! It looks sleek and is rated as the New Best Gadget for 2009 by the TechCrunch Crunchies Award. To have a look at Nook and probably purchase it, click at the link here. Currently, I don't own a Nook just yet and probably I just should if someone can get it for me if you happen to visit the US. If I'm not mistaken, there are still no delivery for purchases coming from Asia. That's sad. =(

Anyhow, I just love e-books and you can always get them on a much bargain price from sites like Amazon.com or Ebay too. If you are not into online shopping, your best bet to get your hands on a real cheap books are probably on the nearest flee market near you. With that said, E-books win hands down,my friend!

1Utama BookCrossing Zone

2010-01-07T16:49:00.002+08:00

Have you come across the BookCrossing banner somewhere at Ground Floor of 1Utama? There is a little spot with a white cupboard and a couple of sofas surrounding the area. If you've seen this place, it's called as the BookCrossing zone.

Still have no idea what is BookCrossing? I've not much of an idea about it either! Haha.

From what I've gathered BookCrossing is a place where you get to 'free' your books and pass it around for other people to read it. It's about sharing your books to other people by using BookCrossing as the main platform for it. FYI, BookCrossing is known as the World's biggest free bookclub! At least, that's what they claimed! =P

However, from my observation, most people ended up sitting around on the sofas to relax their sore feet out of shopping instead of actually 'hanging out' over at the zone to read books that are supposedly to be shared in the white cupboard. Worse was the amount of books that are stored in the cupboard. From the last time I saw it, that was during Christmas last year, there were somewhere less than 20 books perhaps inside there.

I still think the Malaysian public are not really aware of the whole point 1Utama is placing the BookCrossing zone in their mall. Anyways, most of us have no idea what is BookCrossing in the first place. If only we can hype the whole BookCrossing agenda to the public, perhaps I would be reading more 'free' books by now. Haha.

On that note, I still have my novels to be 'given' away and let's hope people will come to this blog and probably purchase one or two books from me. =)

Currently Reading : Think & Grow Rich

2009-10-02T18:53:00.005+08:00

I'm currently on the Second Chapter of this amazingly brilliant book of all time authored by Napoleon Hill. Why did I read this book at the first place? It's because prior to reading this book, I was reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Koyasaki. Robert recommended his readers to read this book , Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Robert has since becomes my 'guru' in 'seeking wealth and financial freedom' and I am taking all his recommendations very seriously and I kid you not when I say 'seriously'. At 25 nearing 26 y.o, I got nothing to lose in this race for 'financial freedom'.

Here's a gist of what's up on Chapter One of Think & Grow Rich :

1. All achievement, all earned riches, have their beginning in an idea.
2. Think and grow rich.
3. Have a burning desire - desire so deeply, he's willing to stake his future on a single turn of the wheel in order to get it.
4. Have a definite purpose, until it had time to become an all consuming obsession.
5. Recognize opportunity - opportunity usually slips by the back door, comes disguised in the form of misfortune or temporary defeat.
6. Know what he wanted and the determination to stand by that desire until he realized it.
7. Have initiatives, faith and the will to WIN.
8. Common causes of failure: the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat.
8." It taught me to keep going, no matter how hard the going may be".
9. When riches begin to come, the come so quickly, in such great abundance, that one wonders where they have been hiding during all those lean years.
10. You need only ONE SOUND IDEA to achieve success.
11. My personal fav : " Success comes to those who become SUCCESS CONSCIOUS" and "Failure comes to those who indifferently allow to become FAILURE CONSCIOUS"
12. Another weakness - habit of measuring everything by their own impression and belief.
13. DETERMINATION IS THE KEY!
14."You are the master of your fate, the captain of your soul, because we have the power to control our thoughts" - Another personal fav of mine.
15. Our brains become magnetized with the dominating thoughts which we hold in our minds.
16. We must magnetize our minds with intense DESIRE for RICHES, that we must become MONEY conscious until the DESIRE for money drives us to create definite plans for acquiring it.

* italics are taken verbatim from Think & Grow Rich.

That's pretty much it for Chapter One. Chapter Two shall follow with the main subject being, "Desire".

** It's best for you readers to search more about Napoleon's writing and check out his book reviews before taking word by word on the list that I've listed out. You may have not understood the brief listing and yes, reading the book shall obviously help in your better understanding. If you are not keen to grow and earn money, or not keen on achieving your 'financial freedom', this book is not the best guide or source of motivation for you.

Popular BookFest @KLCC

2009-09-01T17:00:00.009+08:00

Did anyone go on a crazy spending free for books there? If you did, what books did you get? I know that a lot of people (like PurpleElf & Kinky Blue Fairy; to name a few) went totally full blown in purchasing those books on sale. Sadly enough, I didn't. I didn't even step foot at that place. Oh I wonder why?

Probably it's because I already get my hands full with too many books by now. Since I'm a bit frugal lately, I tend to download books online. Still, nothing beats the real thing like turning pages after pages. With online E-books you'll get tired after sometime from scrolling down 'pages' using your keyboard or your mouse.

Anyways, here's (www.too.doc.com) where I downloaded most of my self help books and also a link for a book by Paulo Coelho entitled "The Way of the Bow" shared by this guy. Help yourself on those links people and Happy Reading!
