I also did K's newborn and 6 month shoot so I was stoked when her mom called me to see if we could do her 1 year ones and a cake smash. I just love cake smashes!! I did this little man's newborn shoot right before Thanksgivings and I was excited when his mom contacted me again for an update session.  He's grown soooo much I can't believe it!  We had a great session.  It's hard to go wrong with such a beautiful family.

I've seen a bunch of photogs this year go for the twinkle light effect and I just had to try it too!  My subject was none too cooperative but we still ended up with really neat shots! I'm off to the store to find me some white lights to hang over a white backdrop!!!

It's the end of Oct (at least it was when I took these pics) and we ended up with a pretty good dusting of snow.  It's a strange feeling to see trees in color with snow on them...

I had the honor of doing this little cuties newborn shoot and her mommy called and asked if we could get a few for her 6 month birth anniversary - of course I said yes! Little K had just figured out how to sit up all by herself so we took full advantage.  Her mommy even had an awesome idea to bring some bathwear for a really really cute set of shots!  I think I need to go find that ducky

I'm still sifting through the 736 pictures that came back with the husband after his photo expedition in Colorado but had to share this one.  As we were quickly flipping thru this one made me stop and gasp....LOVE!  I'm soo incredibly jealous that he was able to take this trip.  We already have plans to do it again, next time with all of us!

This is one of my favorite pics of Noah.  It was a lucky capture for sure since he melted down about 2 seconds after this.  I'm glad I caught it.  Those baby blues have even deepened in color and are the most amazing combination of my blue and my husbands blue.  One of the best things we've ever done for sure!! I had the distinct pleasure of meeting little miss Kenley this past weekend.  She was only 7 days new and such a joy to work with.  She was uber sleepy and laid back and any fussing was quickly quieted by a brief shusshing and rocking.  Gramma was even on hand to help out so the momma could relax!

When you're shooting outside getting the lighting perfectly correct is tough. You don't have the luxury of just moving the sun the right place to cast that beautiful back light or fill in a dark shadow. When you're outside you have to make your own light! We had some amazing weather here this past weekend in Northern Va!  We spent a large percentage of the days outside just soaking it up!  Noah told me he was hungry and I just happened to have a new container of giant strawberries.  This kid is definitely my child!  He housed 4 of these berries and walked around for the rest of the afternoon with a bright red ring around his mouth.
