Try to go to any nearby pasar and listen to their conversations. Chances are there that someone is talking about which stock to buy and which will go up next week. This is the time for you to review your holding and cash in whichever stock that may have limited upside. The bear might be here soon..

Yes the stock market might still rally, possibly until end of the year. This normally happens after CNY and before election. If you cash out too early, you might miss the boat. So to be on the safe side, put your money on fundamentally strong companies. These companies might not rally that much, as some of them are laggard stocks.

Well for me, I'm going to cash out half of my holding and wait for opportunity to come. Half of my money, I'm going to either put in REITS or foreign stock market.
It's not a bad time to invest in some of the bluechips on NYSE or NASDAQ. Ringgit is strong now, you don't need to fork out as much as you need in the past to buy the same stock. Th stock might have up a lot, but still you're paying less in RM. I believe RM will continue to appreciate against the USD, but the upside is quite limited. And eventually the hot money that flows into our local stock market will be flowing to the opposite direction once the local market is not cheap anymore. This will cause RM to depreciate against the USD.

Of course, I'm not asking you to pull out totally from the local stock market. One way to have a safer investment is to "hedge" your holding by spreading your investments into the local and US market. I'm still new to the Wallstreet, and heck I have a lot to learn to trade in NYSE and NASDAQ. In fact' I have only started to learn about investing in the US market recently. I have bought a book called "Rule #1
"by Phil Town. It teaches you to look for the 5 numbers of a company that are important for stock investing. Quite useful for US market, but not really applicable to our local SE (too many GLCs). Overall, the book is about choosing and buying undervalued and fundamentally good companies shares. Besides that, I have also "subscribed" to this report: How to hack the stock market. The name doesn't sound too good (there's no such thing as hacking the stock market)? But I give it a try, to look at the reports which were written by the author (I do not know who's the author anyway) on how to spot a good stock. Basically, same as Rule #1, it's teaching you to choose fundamentally good stock, but with the addition of some technical analysis. I'll try to use their methods to spot a good trade and start "trading" with my game account. If everything goes smooth, I'll trade with real money :)

So are you ready to join the bandwagon? Let's do it together!

I'm Back!

I'm back finally.. to the blogging world.

It's been 4 months since I last blogged. Well, at least it's not another 7 months.

OK, I mentioned that I've bought Bjcorp and Hevea in my last post. For your information, I have sold my Hevea @ RM0.785 and earned around 15% from my cost. I could have sold it higher at 0.80++. But I was too greedy, hoping that it can hit RM1. Too bad it did not happen and now it's on down trend. As for bjcorp, I'm still holding at 15% paper gain. I'm gonna hold this until the special dividend is officially declared. Divi= RM0.045 or use the special divi to buy 2 unit ICULS of HK Cosway. I have made some calculation on the "free" ICULS and it looks promising:

every 1 unit of bjcorp share = RM0.045 special dividend
every 2 unit of bjcorp shares = right to buy 1 Cosway ICULS

the option here is you can use the special dividend to buy 1 ICULS.

example:
10000 bjcorp shares --> right to buy 5000 unit of Cosway ICULS
use all the special dividend to buy 5000 unit Cosway ICULS

the interesting part is:
you can convert the Cosway ICULS to the mother share for free. 1 ICULS = 1 Cosway. meaning you'll have 5000 unit of Cosway. Cosway is now trading at HK$0.95 = RM0.37. With 5000 of Cosway, you'll have: RM0.37 * 5000 = RM1850.

Wow you'll be getting RM1850 of free money. And the best part is only RM0.045 will deducted from bjcorp share price.

Sounds too good to be true? maybe! The special dividend is currently a proposal (since end of april 2010). Anything can change, still.

That's my opinion, and I'm not trying to influence anyone to buy bjcorp now. It's purely my view on this company.

Oh yeah, I have also quick kill on Gadang recently. Bought @ 0.85 and sold @ 0.93. Enough for 1 week of expenses.. :)

7 months without posting!

Wow, it's been 7 months since my last post. I hope there are still a few of you who are still reading my blog.

I was busy with my work in the office and my own projects. Here are some quick recap:
1. Was away to oversea for job assignment.
2. Study on property investment
3. Study on Forex Trading
4. Study on Affiliate Marketing
5. Study on stock market

Talking about stock market, I have sold my GENS-C1 with RM2k++ profit. I'm glad to make profit from this call warrant because my paper loss was once at RM4k. Thanks to the super excellent quarterly report of GENS (SGX:G13), the mother share rose to historic high. Pheww.. I promise that I won't touch any call warrant in the future.

As for Success Transformer, I have sold it with peanut's gain. It went up quite a lot but I didn't sell it because I've expected more from it. Greedy me.

Since then, I have bought in also a few stocks. They are, Hevea and Bjcorp. Both stocks had gone down a bit since my purchase. More details about them in my next post.

About forex trading, I still think that it's not my cup of tea (too risky for me). Nevertheless, here are some resources for any of you that interested in forex trading:
1. Babypips (resourceful for beginner)
2. Forex Robot (for those of you that trust the bot to trade for you)
3. Mr Kishore M, a forex trading guru from Singapore(he has conducted many forex courses in many countries). Some say that he's a scammer, rather that forex guru. Here's a good write up about this guy: Kishore M, the forex guru

I guess that's about it for today. Will post again on other topics, once I'm free. :)

PS: I'll try to post my stocks transactions also in the future.

Updates on JCY International

As promised, an update for JCY international ipo. I know the subscription period has ended today at 5pm. The outcome is I did not subscribe. I repeat: I DID NOT SUBSCRIBE JCY INTERNATIONAL IPO. One of the reason is the PE is a lil' too high if we were to compare to its peer, Notion Vtec. PE for JCY is 20 while for Notion it's only 12. Of course it might rise to RM2.20 on its first day of listing. But in the long run, it might lose its steam and eventually will go to its fair value, which is PE around 15-18.

Other than the PE thingy, here's the reason why I did not make any move for it: I LOVE NOTION VTEC

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 166px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpzHqt2KgBQd8hXON9B3wZxzxMDXZTeEBawvEXQ4hxcfaYfrGmXA86kOV5mjVFE2yhhk5l-XniV5WWV1P4vo0K3tFfcaLWtfvAvBi6TkDpU7kzOxI1KPX61KkHWcyH1hTI5BtZ5mAb5Vc/s320/HotelMichaelSentosa.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5435875002335985186" />

Anyway, I also did not get my hands on Notion. Today I bought in something, GENS-C1. It's one of the call warrant for Genting Singapore listed in KLSE. There are 5 GENS call warrant in KLSE. So why GENS-C1? Basically, its because of the low premium. I don't wanna show the premium calculation here. You can calculate it yourself (you can drop me a comment if you're desperate for the calculation). Why GENS call warrant now? Because of the casino license. Eventually it will fly. Let's see if it really flies before CNY. :D

Frying my brain daily..

Everyday, I spend around an hour talking on the phone. And, I have been doing that for the past few years. Reason is I'm too lazy to text.

I'll place the phone next to my ear (of course la, put at your butt meh?), when I'm having my conversation via my cell. Sometimes, during my conversation, I'll feel a lil' uncomfortable and I can feel the heat at my ear. I know it has to do with the radiation from the cellphone, but I've never bothered about its effect to me. Yes, I've been hearing that talking via cellphone will cause brain tumor and etc, all sort of things. But I think it is not scientifically proven. And recently, I read an article on cellphone radiation. Guess what.. the cellphone radiation is actually useful in preventing Alzheimer's disease. Read this.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 208px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHU0xAfDbrxb8cvvGtmBxyaQTNJ3PqgsQ0ATNdZYYoB6TW31c8G0CtomsYcH3DDs10e1quqMc1QoNc9hRDZN40D2AweTyGXd4XwjhETcwWYIzGYS2IIcY6LHs-hsgqnb-e5i8t7TM7SLQ/s320/6a00d8341c630a53ef012876b0a353970c-300wi.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5434048412370539682" />

Well, till now I'm still not too sure if cellphone radiation is harmful to human. But nevertheless, I have recently made a wise decision by getting myself a pair of bluetooth headset. Its from Nokia.. who don't like Nokia stuffs! Did I mention 'wise decision'? I thought I have just said that there's no proven fact that cellphone radiation is harmful, and now what? The reason I think it's good to talk via bluetooth headset is the permitted power when it's receiving and transmitting signal to the cellphone. There are 3 classes of bluetooth, which is categorized by the maximum operating range. Class 1 refers to maximum operating range of 100m, while Class 2 and 3 refers to 10m and 1m respectively. Remember this, in order to have higher operating range, the permitted power must be higher. When the power is higher, the energy involved is also higher. OK, I don't wish to go into details... To make it simple: Class1~100mW, Class2~2.5mW, Class3~1mW. As for cellphone, the power permitted is 2W. Now you can see the difference between cellphone and bluetooth's power. To make the calculation simple, assume you talk via your cell for 1 hour (=60minutes=3600seconds). The energy involved is 2W x 3600s = 7200J. If you use bluetooth headset for your conversation, here's the calculation: Class1=360J, Class2=9J and Class3=3.6J. The differences between talking with and without bluetooth is so significant!

So, which one to choose? Luckily, there's not much choice when choosing bluetooth headset. Most of them come with Class 2 bluetooth hardware. I believe it's rare to have class1 for bluetooth headset because of its power, and by the way, why do you need such a big operation range? Your phone is not walkie talkie dude. No class3 because, you don't need it when you're so close to your phone. No point having double radiation.

My advice to all of you who can't live without cellphone, please get a bluetooth headset today. You do not want to become like this:

PS: I'm not involve in any bluetooth headset distribution business. Please do not email or message me for bluetooth headsets' prices. Thanks. :D

Success Transformer (again)

Today, the share price went as high as RM1.27 before closing at RM1.23. The share price is up not only because the market sentiment is better (dow jones up more than 100pts the night before), but also due to the post by this famous blogger: http://malaysiafinance.blogspot.com/2010/02/seremban-engineering-ipo-approved.html

I believe there are many willing buyers at current level of price. Of course, this counter has a lot of upside potential, and RM1.70 is achieveable in near future. Normally the price surge will be more obvious when there's official announcement regarding their corporate exercise. For Success' case, is when they officially announce the allocation of SEB ipo to STC shareholders, and the entitlement date.

Let's continue to monitor this counter for the rest of the week. If it manages to go above RM1.30 and stays there, the announcement is near. :D

JCY INTERNATIONAL BERHAD

JCY International Bhd, will be Malaysia’s second-largest initial public offering in six years, as they offer 25.9 percent of its stock in its IPO.

JCY’s will offer as many as 530.2 million shares, where 470,317,000 of the shares will be offered to institutional investors and the remainder (59,893,000: 40,898,000 to Malaysian public via balloting, 18,995,000 Eligible Directors, employees and persons who have contributed to the success of JCY) to individuals.

The sale may raise as much as RM1 billion (US$295 million), and that would make it the second-largest IPO in six years in Malaysia, after Maxis Bhd.’s record RM11.2 billion offering last year.

The retail price is currently set at RM2.00 per share and it can go lower if the institutional price is below RM2.11 (Final retail price will be either RM2.00 or 95% of the institutional price, whichever is lower).

Here are the tentative dates for this IPO:
Listing Schedule
Prospectus Date 01/02/2010
Opening of Applications 01/02/2010
Closing of Applications 08/02/2010
Tentative Balloting Date 11/02/2010
Tentative Allotment Date 24/02/2010
Tentative Listing Date 25/02/2010

Currently I'm still studying the prospectus, and has yet to decide to subscribe to this ipo. It was initially listed on the second board of Bursa on 19 January 2005, and later was transferred to the main board on 26 MArch 2007.

The company is principally involved in the manufacturing and trading of electrical apparatus and industrial lighting. Some of the brand names that they carry are Nikkon, SES, QPS and SUPERLITE. Almost one third of Success' turnover are from West Asia, SEA, East Asia, Africa and OCEANIA. During the economy downturn in 2009, the revenue and profit of Success are not affected. In fact, it has managed to maintain the same result as in 2008. To date (up to their 3rd quarter financial announcement), their revenue stands at 145 million ringgit compared to 143 million ringgit during the same period in 2008. The profit for the same period in 2009 is 19 million ringgit compared to 18.4 million ringgit for Q3 in 2008. This can be regarded as a magnificent achievement for the group as it managed to perform so well when other companies were struggling to keep their business. Of course, we can relate the consistent revenue and profit were partly contributed from its process equipment unit, Seremban Engineering (More on this later). The group is also always trying to expand beyond its current capacity, as we can see from the purchase of a factory in Sungai Buloh for RM5.9m. The purchase is for the consideration of improving the efficiency (and cost down: consolidation of their several factories to one location) of its transformers and lighting division. In the long run, we can see the effect from this factory purchase.

With its current price of RM1.2 and EPS of 16.06 sen, it made the PE at 7.5x. A single digit PE for such a good company! If we were to annualize the EPS (16.06sen x 4/3), it'll be at 21.4sen per share for the FY2009. That will further lower the PE to 5.6x! Truly a hidden gem.

Its process equipment unit, Seremban Engineering (SEB) will be spun-off in 2010 (most likely by March). So far, everthing has gone well with the proposal of the floatation in KLSE. As to date, it has received the approval from SC with the proposed floation of Seremban Engineering (with some listing conformations). The listing will most likely benefit the current shareholder, as there are rumours flying around that there'll be free share (dividend in specie?) from the listing of SEB.

Buy now? For me, I'll definitely load in some of Success shares now. Besides the low PE and possible free shares from SEB, there are some shares buy back activities by the company recently. From my perception, something good is brewing for this company. And with KLCI retreating for so many sessions, the price of Success is steadyly hovering around RM1.20. With a PE target of 8x, I hope I can make some profit from Success when it's trading at RM1.70, maybe within 2-3 months. Hopefully. :D

Barack Obama: State of the Union Speech

Stunning! Simply stunning! That's what I can comment on Barack Obama's state of the union speech. He has never failed to deliver his message to his fellow Americans and to the rest of the world. And this time he did it again.

Just a week after his fellow Democrats lost to Senator-elect, Scott Brown in the Massachusetts special election, concerns are brewing that Obama is losing the support of Americans. Many are in doubts that he has succeed to fulfill his presidential campaign message, "Change, we can believe in". People are saying that he focused too much on the health-care overhaul and has neglected the United States economy recovery. Rumours are also flying around that there has been a cover up in the bail out of AIG last year. At this moment, everything seems so wrong for the first black American president.

But once President Obama is on stage, the gloomy Democrats camp turned rosy. Just like at his presidential campaign, the ever charismathic Obama has never failed to deliver. He managed to relate all the concerns and anxieties of struggling Americans in his speech. From banks in Wall Street to small business in Phoenix, Obama's able to pin point to the current challenges that the Americans face. For each and every challenge, he, Obama has came out with a plan which is very likely to be the solution of the problem. Simply marvellous!

To cut it short, here are the key points of President Barack Obama's speech:

1. Calling for a job bill: to create more jobs in the United States.

2. Stressing on the importance of the health care reform.

3. To cut the United States' budget deficit, by freezing government spending for 3 years, starting from 2011.

4. Appeal both Democrats and Republican to work together.

5. To slowly retreat from both Iraq and Afghanistan.

You can read the complete text of the speech here:

http://www.whitehouse.gov/the_press_office/Remarks-by-the-President-to-a-Joint-Session-of-Congress-on-Health-Care/

Quick Recap 27th January 2010

Not much time to post today, so just a quick recap for today:

1. Shares on Bursa Malaysia fell sharply today, falling for the fourth consecutive day. It was also the second day of double-digit declines for the key FBM KLCI index. Almost every indice in Asia are in RED. Shanghai led Asia's drop by dropping 2.42% to 3019.39pts. Our local bourse, KLSE was at the lowest 1278.1 before recovering at 1283.02 (-13.77, -1.06%). This is the worst day so far this year for KLSE. Many will be asking what's wrong with market? Is this the long overdue market correction? Or is it due to the short term reaction over tightening of lending in China and Uncle Sam's 3 years freeze on domestic spending?

Well, both reason can be the excuses for the market to correct itself. Since March 2009 till now, the market has been in bull run (though there're a few minor consolidation in between). This type of rally normally occurs after the recession (I believe to date, we're still in recession, in fact we've not recovered from the previous recessionsssss) and will last 6 to 9 months. During this 6 to 9 months, market is very sensitive to good news and has very little reaction over bad news. Every single news which are less bad or slightly better will be treated as a positive sign for the economy and market. For an example, banks in US. Many banks in US (Citigroup, BAC, etc..) were still suffering losses during that period, but the reporting of the losses were treated as good news for the market. How can this possibly be good news when the company is making billion dollar of losses? Is it because of the lower PE (if you follow the formula, share price/earning, earning is now more negative, thus PE is lower). The reason is simple, the losses that these companies made were less than expected. So the investors think that these companies are on the right track of recovery. But ask yourself, why would you invest in a company that made losses? Ain't that stupid? Back to the fundamental, the reason for you to invest in a company is to make money. Simple as that, but people tends to forget the fundamental during that 6 to 9 months period.

After that 9 months, people or should we call them investors are more intelligent and smarter. Now they know how to evaluate better and have a better judgement. Good news is good news and bad news is bad news. Bad news is no longer good news. Now this is how the market should react. So, the recent dip in market is normal, as there are too many negative elements for the past few weeks. What we can hope now is there are genuine good news coming in for next few months. The next few months will be crucial for the world ecocomic recovery, either a 'V' recovery or 'W' recovery. Be 'V' or be 'W', we want to see genuine and solid economy. Be it!

Commitments

When I was a kid, I used to think that the only way to get rich is to start working. I always ask myself why do we have to spend so much time in school when we can use the time to earn money. As I get older, I found that we need education to earn big. Big as in few thousand dollars a month. I told myself during my uni days that I'm gonna get myself the things that I've been longing for once I started to work. I'm gonna get myself a new super fast computer, I'm gonna get myself this and that. However, when I started to work, I noticed that I'm still unable to get whatever I have wanted all this while. It's not that the things are no longer available or obsolete, but I have learned something new, commitment. Yes, commitment!

I believe every single adults have commitments, whether consciously knowing its existence or sub-consciously hiding behind it. This is the word that prevent you from buying Gucci, LV and Ferrari. This is the word that ties you from 9 to 5 daily. This is the word that keeps you longing for payday. According to wikipedia, Commitment means to show loyalty, duty or pledge to something or someone, and can refer to: read yourself .

So how do we define commitment in our life? Commitment basically depends on the involvement of ourselves in that particular commitment. The more that you're involved, the more significant the commitment is. For an example, you involve yourself heavily on your children's A-Z. You'll basically take care of everything that comes around your kids. But be careful not to involve too much in something which is shitty, else you'll be in deep shit.

So, what is my commitment? Basically a lot, but if you ask me to name a few, I'll have a tough time telling you one. I do not own a house, I do not own a car, and I do not own the keyboard that I'm using right now. But hey, where did my money go? Yes, every month the money just comes in to my account (the money that I got from being loyal sitting in the office from 9-5) and there you go, gone in 60 seconds. That is the commitment that I'm talking about. I do not know where my money goes, but I have to commit to myself so that I have money to flow out from my account.

Well sigh, I know many of you are bored with my rants, but believe me that's what happening to an average joe. And I believe there are many of you that share the same thought as me.

My Very First Post

Yes, my very first post.. in this blog. In fact I've been blogging since many years back. That was the time when I was still in the university, where I have plenty of time to kill. However my blogging activity was short live, as I did not have the passion to blog on every single details that happened to my live. Come'on, who cares about your daily routines? (anyway, the old blog is still around and I couldn't recall what I've blogged in the past.. like i care..).

Now, surely some of you must be wandering what the heck is this guy doing here when he said that he's stopped blogging. Frankly speaking, I don't know why i'm doing this. Maybe i'm just being emo to blog after reading couples of interesting blogs. Yes, there are darn a lot of interesting bloggers out there and, they've never failed to deliver. Nevertheless, I hope that this is not my first and the last post (I don't wish to create another cyber junk, like the one i did previously). Seriously, I don't have the equal amount of time like I used to have during my uni time. I'm a working adult and I have the responsibility to feed my tummy and never ending desire of having new belongings. I wan't good food, I wan't nice cars, I wan't a house which is made of glasses that has nice view by the beach and will never be affected tsunami when 2012 is here. I lol-ed. How I wish..

Well, I'm gonna share with you good people out there (who i think that have too much time and got nothing better to do) interesting things that happen to my life. But hey, why did you name your blog which has nothing to do with the things that you're gonna blog. OK fine, I admit that I borrow "some" of my employer's time to contribute to our local economy. The Malaysian government wants more liquidity in our local bourse , so I'm just doing them a favor by injecting some of my hard earned money to KLSE. So far, I've been trading for almost 1 year and the result is... well, I'm not gonna reveal it, as there's no point telling people how's the market perform when the market has been rallying since March last year. Simply close one eye and pick one stock since the beginning of March last year, and you can stand proud and tell your relatives this Chinese new year that you've earned RMxxx from the stock market. But of course, if you lost some money to the market, you can just shut up and pretend that you've kept all your money in FD (earning 2% a year is better than losing 10sen in the market) for the past 1 year.

Back to reality, it's late now and tomorrow is Monday. I love Monday!!! yay!!! Work work work.. Hope to post again very soon. Maybe some of my trading activities, and some of the latest news/ tips/ rumors from our very own local bourse, KLSE. Bye for now.
