(For Now)

So after my attempts to get a new mouse after my poorly built Mamba, I manage to get 1 from my friend. Enter the Abyssus. Its a very nice piece of hardware, with no distractions whatsoever. Just a point click and use kind of mouse. With hardware DPI and polling rate switches, its a very basic/entry level kind of mouse.

One thing I absolutely can't stand about the Abyssus is simply the lack of forward/backward buttons. Those are my all time favorite buttons during games and mostly during web surfing.

By no means it its not a good mice tho, prob one of the better ones I've come across in recent times. Another dislike personally is the weight. This thing is very light, ala early 2000s mouse like the Logitech Mx300.

Size comparison with my Mamba.

So this will be the one mouse to tide me over for the next few days till I get a better one :(

God of War 3 is Done!

Alright so I've finally completed God of War 3. Whats next? Maybe I should get back to Final Fantasy XIII and hopefully forget how disappointing it was personally for me.

God of War 3... Definitely one of the best decisions I've made to get it. My only regret is that I had gotten it way way way too late! The game could actually be better. It could be longer, more fights, and definitely I felt that the last few battles of the game was its weakest point. It doesn't feel as 'epic' as the first few fights like Poseidon. I suppose burnout is the word for it. Since they've invested so much into the start of the game, the quality towards the end paled in comparison. It left me wanting but still, overall its at least a 9.5/10.

If you haven't yet got the game, you should really go get it like now! All action games should be like this. Its almost like watching a movie which gives you so much interaction.

District 9.

More 'Bourne' style jerking during the chase/actions scenes would do it good.
Another huge expenditure this month :(

Just when I thought I didn't need anything else, the weird Lenovo olympics notebook I was using gave up on me. Argh.

Still, this is a Asus U30JC, I'm glad I got this instead of a Macbook. Well worth every pitiful penny :)

Final Fantasy 14 ???

So I decided to purchase God of War III at last.. After holding it off for so long, I figured it was only right to purchase this highly rated game.

But being a bummer, its only natural that I find some means to minimize the effects of this expenditure....

In the end, it hit me. What better way than to sell those old games lying around and collecting dust?

So after a night of forum postings and early morning testing, I decided to sell my bunch of 3 games to this anonymous guy from a local forum. Had to let go of the games at a low price. Was thinking "What the hell?" but since he's getting all of my titles so be it.

Turns out he's a very nice guy! Lol I sure didn't expect that.. we even chatted for 5 mins... so completely not my style... And he was a really nice guy grumbling about how he couldn't get pass the second boss of God of War III. Theres nothing like meeting someone who's so passionate about the same stuff :)

So there after selling him the games I went down to purchase God of War III, in all its full R1 glory!!!

Just finish playing the first chapter I think, just killed Poseidon. Freaking E P I C game man. How many games are there in the market that while its fun to play, you'll find yourself going "WOW WTF!" at the same time! The graphics are stunning, the game play is smooth, the scenery, settings and layout of the first mission is in a class of its own. It blew me away literally!

Open Net Please

So i saw this on my way home the other day. I was hoping its the new Fibre Optic connection. Singapore have a large population of internet users but we sure as hell has slow as turtle speeds. Open net promises to be the highest speed connection of the future. So we'll know if its a major breakthrough on local internet speeds, or a total flop like the current 2 biggest providers are.

http://www.opennet.com.sg/

Established in 2008, OpenNet is a joint venture between four partners – Axia NetMedia (Axia), Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel), Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) and Singapore Power Telecommunications (SPT). OpenNet carries on its shoulders the heavy responsibility of building, managing and operating a truly open high quality fibre platform for Singapore’s Next Generation Nationwide Broadband Network (Next Gen NBN).

This fibre optic platform will be the key foundation of the Next Gen NBN, which is part of the Intelligent Nation 2015 or iN2015 blueprint to turn Singapore into a sophisticated city with seamless high-speed connectivity. OpenNet will deliver a resilient and robust fibre platform at least two and a half years ahead of schedule of the iN2015 vision, positioning for completion by 2012.

Being the key foundation of the Next Gen NBN, OpenNet will provide a competitive, yet neutral environment for all downstream operators, enabling the delivery of ultra-high speeds network of 1Gbps and above.

© 2010 OpenNet Pte Ltd.
Bad bad situation to be in, especially when you have a competitor on a country so small, its painful to live in. I mean, after all the hype, and me myself familiar with the industry, this kinda service is just plain appalling. Its like their staff are in the service line but not providing in. Doing nothing is the worst any service staff can do in situations like these.

But who's to blame? I wouldn't place all the blame on their staff solely. Why? Sometimes, as much as you wanna help, there are certain boundaries that prevent you from doing it. That applies even if you hold a position of power. Be it a Supervisor or a Manager. Their jobs are on the line I suppose.

Often large organisations like these hire people, but fail to make it clear the extend of their power in relation to their ranks. If the manager failed to do anything in this situation, I doubt there are other people capable of resolving these issue in a amicable way. Failure to appease the guest immediately either shows their inability to cope, or their limitations as a organisation. No one offered any compensation for the guest's lost of time. No compensations were made that i know off. And now its on Youtube.

If the manager/supervisor had the power to compensate base on his own discretion, wouldn't the issue be resolved? Even if its not resolved the impact would've been reduced and the public could've judge from themselves if the organisation did their best in trying to resolve the issue. If the manager/supervisor had the power, but failed to do anything with it to appease the guests, then thats shows the culture in the organisation doesn't it?

If I had my way, I would definitely offer them some form of compensation. They might still be angry, but at least you did try and do something about the unfortunate event. Meal vouchers, free stays, exclusive use of their facilities. I wouldn't mind making the organisation lose money if its to appease guest. Customers are king, especially in this industry.

I've met my fare share of over demanding and plain picky guests, but at the end of the day, they're still guests. You're in the business to keep people happy, if they're not means something is probably wrong.

iOS 4!

Finally Apple users get do more than 2 things at once. Long overdue but hey, its better than never.

Well the only other exciting things to me are only the front/back glass and the new design. Pretty much every major improvement had been done before elsewhere. Facetime looks good, but only on Wifi?! But knowing Apple, it would probably get sorted out soon. The build quality looks pretty solid and the white version just looks so cool. Apple designers should probably go out there to teach other companies about design!
The new display looks crisp and clean, impressive display, even the minute details can be seen. I wish my desire had that :(

The rest of the features doesn't look impressive. Was expecting a revolutionary feature of sorts, but I guess they're saving it for next time.

But hey, Wifi crashing at the WWDC? Poor guy..

So I finally gave into temptation and purchased a Droid! After a few hours of fiddling with it, I think that its excellent!

Form factor is magnificent, OS is very intuitive, especially with HTC spicing things up. Droid market which is modelled after Apple's app store is good, only gripe is that I would've wish for a "sort by popularity" of sorts function. Like come on, 5 star ratings are not even accurate these days...

Love the browser, its fast and clear, even for pages clogged with ads. Flash support is appreciated. Apple needs to take note here.

I appreciate the fact that HTC has made a strong effort on using recycled materials on crafting the packaging. The minimalistic feel to the overall packaging and reducing their carbon footprint i applaud.

Now all that's needed is just more video playing capabilities.

And this post was done on the HTC Desire.

Jumpstart!

I promise I will actually start building my MG Blueframe + air-brushing my MG Crossbone Ver.ka after June the 7th!

Why?

Cause ....

Beta will end....

And the world might just come to an end too :(

Endless thoughts came and go, truthful words exchanged, in the end, all that really matters is, ironically, not what's in my mind.

I remember the time where I was a different person. Ignoring stuff that matters (not that I don't now), brash and harsh.

When you showed so much patience and taught me a great deal, I was admittedly ignorant and not appreciative. Not till it was too late anyway.

But you taught me the importance of slowing down, taking a deep breath and looking around. Its not what one does to oneself that shows him as a person, its how he influences those around him without hurting them.

Instead of a 1 + 1, Its a 1^x + 1^x whereby x is everyone associated with the subject.

One of my defining moments I supposed, where influences and judgements were resisted and thoughts were implanted in place.

Thanks.

Prebuilt? Or Not....

Had originally intended to prime my kit like this. However while fiddling with it I came to realize that there are some parts that I have to do more detailing... I was thinking the primer wouldn't have a even coat if I were to just spray it on the surface.

So.... I decided to revert back to my old method .

After doing the above, I realized that there's too much parts! OMG!! And this is only a Ver.Ka Crossbone.... Oh well will try to start painting it asap.. Wonder if i can still shade properly though :(

This + World of Warcraft had kept my occupied for the last couple of months. Now that only one's left, I can finally get to start on my Blue Frame after this Crossbone! :D

Now What ??

Alright, the unsightly stacking has gotta stop.

Been away for a bit, slightly distracted. Perhaps its time I started up again :)

Crossbone Ver.Ka Scratch Build Complete.

Alright so I've completed Crossbone Ver.Ka at last. This is actually a very disappointing kit to me. There are actually many limitations to this kit and the color reproduction is actually quite poor, thus the limited amount of parts. Gonna take me alot of masking to achieve the colors I sought after.

Seeing the unpainted product, I expect to have loads of problem painting the weapons. The dark blue parts I intend to change it into a more sky/cobalt blue shade, but I'm worried if the kit would look kiddish overall. Hopefully not. (PS, good excuse to finish up my cobalt blue paint)

Hmm... work is screwing my bio clock badly, but still, it beats being in the office facing people I would rather not face ... heh

And yes I know that my posts are getting limited.. Well new job, new transitions and new toys makes it difficult to spend my time and energy on plamo.. Plus my camera still isn't with me... sigh i hate the camera quality of myy Blackberry Bold =(

Perhaps its time for a Blackberry 9700 =\

Goodness of LED

Alright, finally I've succumb to the evils of console gaming once again. Being a ex Sega fan, I was really disappointed with consoles from way back. Ever since my Megadrive, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast all went obsolete, I gave up after my Playstation 1 and went on to my PC.

So I went out a couple of days back and was deciding if I should actually get a Playstation 3. Well, I've waited long enough ever since its launch with its pitiful size of games, and so much promised games @ launch are still in development.. Then I went to my friend's place and play some Ninja Gaiden 2, and I was poisoned immediately !!!

Thus I went out the very next day and purchased a Playstation 3 slim =D
Didn't get many games, on a pretty tight budget.. But hey, its gonna be X'mas anyway! Hahaha!

I was kinda cursed with consoles.. So hey, don't blame me if the Playstation 3 dies!

And so I got a pretty companion among my dvd players in the living room... Thats where the only Full HD tv in the house is... Till I get 1 full HD tv in my room.. I will move it in.. Hopefully Santa will hear me and grant me a 60' Full HD tv.. Wishful thinking I know, but hey, hopes are what keep people alive :D
