I am so excited that my first machine knitted project is finally published for sale after been tested by my Ravelry friends. It is called Somewhere Over The Rainbow, a cowl knitted with my own hand painted yarn in long colour repeats. I want to thank my testers Dana, Liz and Cindy for their lovely work and time. Most importantly, my heartfelt thanks to Sandy who has taught me to write up a simple and easy to follow instruction. It was with her help and encouragement that I have decided to give it a try. Hope you like it!

Meetup at Empire Shopping Gallery, Subang

I just came back from a local meetup at the Empire Shopping Gallery, Subang on 13th August. As usual, I brought along my hand dyed yarns:

Beautiful handspun on the spindle by Nina is ready for the Jaali KAL prize.

Poor Victoria was so tired, even the table is the best place to sleep! Shh....

I have a great time seeing my yarns being sold to excited knitters and I got myself some free cotton yarns from Petrina, two books from Riki and I also bought a spindle from Nina. Thank you ladies for your continuous support and I hope to see you all soon!

I have received my latest loot, a 14 kg of goodness for my dyeing addiction!

Inside this loot are some new yarn base that I am craving to dye. My first choice is to try my hands on some beautiful blends of Cashmere/Merino/Nylon, fingering weight, 4 ply yarns. I love that the yarn is soft, springy and strong at the same time. My latest colour called In The Pink of Health was inspired by this photo taken by my husband recently:

This special hank of Rojak was created with a little bit of many colours. I can see cucumber, youtiao, taupok, bunga kantan, mango and most importantly shrimp paste in it! Mmmm....doesn't it look yummy and makes you hungry!?

Bluer Than Blue is another new yarn base of 55% Silk 45% Wool, 2 ply lace weight yarn.

The yarn is super soft and silky with a beautiful sheen and twist.

This is my first scarf designed for machine knitting on my Silver SK8-200 using my hand painted long colour repeat in Purple Red Lilac colourway. It is a 50 year old standard gauge machine gifted to me by my dear friend Riki. The scarf was inspired by Sourpatch that I am knitting at the moment. This simple tuck stitch is so easy to knit on the machine and yet beautiful! The best thing about this scarf is there is no right side or wrong side. Both sides has it's own unique pattern and you don't have to worry about wearing it right!

Needle Set-up

Co 51 sts with a tappet making a chain for each out of work ndl. T6, knit 2 rows. This is a 6 stitch pattern so you will be pulling out every 6th needle for the tuck stitch with one edge needle on both sides in working position. Pull out ndls marked "X" forward and put on hold position. Knit 6 rows. Take off hold by pushing down russel buttons and knit 2 rows. Next pull centre ndls between the needles marked "X" and knit 6 rows. Push down russel buttons and knit 2 rows. Continue knitting by alternating these two groups ending with knit 2 rows. Bind off loosely making a chain for each out of work ndl. Block lightly so that you can show off the lovely bubble that is formed by the tucked stitch! :)

I am so excited to share with my latest hand dyed with tweed sock yarns.

It is done using my favourite long colour repeat in shades of blue, purple, olive and black. I have carefully hand painted it so that the colour changes are very subtle. Just great for shawls, scarves or stoles!:)

The weather here is real hot and my yarns get dried fast too! These are also custom orders done in purple red lilac colourway:

I would like to share with you this photo taken by my husband .....

These beautiful flowers in pink and white are blooming everywhere in town. Every year these flowers will bloom during the hottest month of the year which is in March, but this year it is a bit late. Well, better late than never! :D

I started natural dyeing with these beautiful bougainvillea on 28th March. So excited that it is finally done and the colours are so beautiful and soft.
