I love this blog, she has one to make them out of pallets.  I don’t know where to get those though.  I still like the Lowes one better though.

Here’s a 3 bin kind, it looks like it’s the Lowes bins with an extra section maybe.

I ordered either Sunday or Monday I think.  Got concerned when they didn’t send an email, then I get one.. then yesterday they shipped.  It’s out for delivery today!  I only got standard shipping, but it was basically free after I entered the first-time-users coupon.  Neat!

I think I’ll paint today again.

Worked on my color wheels, I don’t know if I did it right.  I’ll try again.  It is so much easier to mix the colors on a smooth pallate than to try and do so on canvas.

This time they’re the Scrap Bag Family.  Random colors, some with metallic leafing, some translucent.. just random.  I worked from the pink and blue bags today.

I got 100 psi, 3/4” tubing at Lowes.  It’s back around the plumbing.  It’s a big roll of black plastic tubing.  You know how a normal hula hoop feels?  It’s sort of like that, only it’s thicker tube.  Not the wee small ones on the bottom shelf there, I had to go around the corner to see the real big tubing batches.  This one is large, 100 feet, about 26-27 dollars.  The connectors are about 40 cents each.  When you untape it, it’ll spring and uncoil.  Just fair warning.

A hacksaw works great to cut it.  I draped mine over the trashcan and cut there.  Nothing to sweep up now!

Now, after having tested it, I see why it says a little further on (not on the supplies list) about padding.  My left ribcage feels pummeled.  BUT!  It works, and it works beautifully!

The kid sized ones that only go to about my belly button are really hard to keep going.  This one though, it’s spectacular.  I only stopped the hoop because I was tired.  I didn’t use it very long, it does sap a lot of energy to keep it going.  I’d like to be able to keep it going at least a few minutes at a time for part of my workout time each day. 

This one goes mid way between my belly button and shoulder.  I think that’s a good size hoop for me.  Any bigger may be hard for me to control.

Mine’s not decorated yet.  Walmart wanted 5 bucks for a set of different colors and it wasn’t very much tape.  I think I’ll order some online, get some sparkly tape and some bright colors of electrical or whatever the other tape is they had, I forget the name.

I’ll have to check Lowes next time for the padding mentioned on that site.  I’m not sure if I really need it, or if I just need to stop being a weenie and tough it out. 

It’s a whole lot better for exercising to have a hoop that is the right size.  Whole lot more fun too!

I’ve just listed Molly, and I have a few others to list.  They are left over kittens from before winter set in hard.  I’ll be making new ones as soon as the days are more consistently warm.

I’ll list a few more kittens over this weekend and upcoming week.  Maybe, if it stays warm.. I’ll actually make some new ones too.  Like I mentioned over on my shop blog, I’ll be changing the format of the family trees.  Right now the listed kittens don’t feature a family tree.  They are part of a family but I just don’t have the energy to build up the charts right now.

Plus, it’ll be warm more often and I’ll spin some wool.  Wahoo!

Today, he redeemed himself for all the dorky things he’s done every time I ship boxes.  I didn’t get annoyed with him, which I always feel guilty about but dang it.. every other time he’s just so frustrating when I mail boxes.  Not today!

Today, he scanned my SCAN form, stamped it, took my boxes and I was out of there in less than 30 seconds.  That made my day so much better.

He didn’t give me the run around about postage, or about my SCAN form, or about my boxes, or about scanning each box and making a receipt only to void it and blah blah blah.  No siree bob the cat, he did not today.  Nope.

Thank you Mr. Postman, you rock!  Today at least.
